Lyman was able to get my vehicle in for an alignment and a state inspection. I called in the morning, they were able to get it all done the same day within a few hours of dropping it off. While dropping the truck off I talked to the service advisor and a mechanic, I was impressed by both.When the vehicle was ready I received a text message letting me know. Upon picking the vehicle up I was given a printout for the alignment which was nice to get.The service advisor and mechanic were great, neither was pushing services that there weren t needed. This was a new-to-me vehicle, they looked in the Carfax system and gave me the mileage of the last oil change and advised when it would be ready for the next one. Very honest and upfront. If you re looking for somewhere to take your vehicle and get honest information, good work, and at a fair price this is your spot.

My car wouldn't start because the battery connector was loose and I had to mess with it to get my car to start. I was dealing with this for a month and kept putting off the repair because of wait times. I was surprised when I called Lyman and Sterling said come in just be a little patient with us. In and out in 30minutes! So glad I called. I'd Def use them again and refer them to my friends

I ve been going to Lyman Automotive for years. Not only are there very trustworthy, but they have been so good to me and my family. They have gone out of their way to be helpful when I ve had car problems, and I won t go anywhere else.

Came here for the first time today after being recommended and I will definitely be back! From scheduling my appointment to checking out everything was great! They accommodated with my schedule and got me in and out for an oil change super quick! The man at the front desk was very nice and made sure he went over everything with me! I was introduced to lyman automotive through a friend of mine I have been screwed over so many times by many different companies with cars that I was really hesitant to buy another car. But I followed my gut about moving forward with the people that work here an James especially made me feel like he was there to help me and make sure my daughter and I had a Safeway to get around. I would recommend them to anybody I come in contact with especially my women friends. Thank you so much lyman automotive

I took my car to Goodyear for my AC. It stopped working less than a week later. Sterling took my vehicle in and showed me how Goodyear only put in 1lb of Freon. Lyman Auto added the correct amount (2.6lbs) and fixed a leak in one of my valves and did it very quickly. They were very courteous and I highly recommend them for all of your vehicle needs.Service: Air conditioning

We had a super experience with Lyman Automotive today! We are a long-time customer of a competitor but could not get on their schedule quickly. We decided to give Lyman a try based on the recommendation of a friend. Their team worked us in quickly for diagnostics, quoted us a very reasonable price, and fixed everything same day. I was in and out within 2 hours without an appointment. I was able to do some work from a convenient cubbie set up in the lobby, which was helpful. And the whole staff was extremely friendly. We just may have a new go-to mechanic now. Thank you so much for your great service!

The manager, I think his name was Sterling, well anyways, the guy in charge was awesome. Got me in quick to diagnose an awful squeaking sound from under my truck. Long story short, they found a dry seal and lubed it up, fixing my problem. Well that could have been anything. And I know nothing about cars. Rather than charge me out the eyes, he was honest and just made me pay for a quick diag. Trust is all I look for in an automotive repair center. And I trust this place. Thanks to Sterling, I'll be back.

I have been going to Lyman for several years and I have never been disappointed with the service. Scott and his team are wonderful to work with and they provide excellent customer service. They have always worked me into their schedule and taken care of my repairs in a timely manner. Scott communicates the findings and makes recommendations as to how to proceed without pressure. Scott is very honest and reliable. I highly recommend Lyman Automotive.

The company I work for has been using Lyman services off and on for the past few years. Recently I was given a promotion at work and choosing a shop to service and maintain our fleet of vehicles became my responsibility and is a big decision. I started sending our vehicles to Lyman for servicing and I have been thoroughly pleased. Scott is an honest no nonsense guy and I have confidence in him and the team of technicians that work on our vehicles. Beginning in 2021, I reached out to Scott and told him that our company will be using Lyman exclusively for all our company vehicle needs. Small business should always help other small business, and especially when the small business does fantastic work. Honest, straight forward, fair pricing, and always on time with repairs. Highly recommended for personal vehicle service as well as fleet vehicle service. Keep it up guys!

Lymans is a great auto shop. They are honest. While their rates are in line with other shops they stand behind their work. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a shop that you can trust like you would your brother or dad to tell you whats wrong and what it'll take to fix it.

Lyman helped me with my last car when my serpentine belt snapped on 288 few years back had check engine light issue on my new(er) car that I wanted to get checked out.Walked in first thing - in/out in a reasonable time. Superior service. Trustworthy.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Have had the best service ever! I stopped in when I had an emergency problem right before I had to travel out of town. Scott was able to get the problem fixed immediately for a reasonable price and send me on my way. Next I took my daughter's car for inspection and he very professionally detailed the problems, gave me a price, and was able to save me money in repairing the issues. All my automotive needs will go to Lyman from here on out.

I have been using Lyman Automotive for more then a decade. James Lyman and his family are wonderful!! Scott at the front desk is a man you can trust. He is honest and fair and his character is a credit to the automotive industry!! I currently have three cars they maintain , a BMW , Jeep Liberty, and a 93 Jeep Wrangler. We could not be more appreciative of the service Lyman provided! Needed an exhaust company who explained what was going on and ended up fixing that, state inspection, installed & balanced provided tires and as well as fixing a suspension issue. Ended up leaving another of our cars for that one to get an alignment and rotate tires! Will be going back for all of our cars! I have been taking our family cars to Lyman for almost a year now, and we couldn't be happier! We always get courteous and fast service, and they have even told me when something DOESN'T need to be fixed! Their honesty and integrity mean a lot in this day and age. I wholeheartedly recommend Lyman Automotive.

I have to write this review. I began researching repair shops in the area after taking my car in for service at the dealership. After the maintenance, the dealership gave me a list of needed repair that included a HEFTY price tag. I came across reviews for Lyman Automotive. They were all good, so I had to give them a try. I told them that the dealer said that I needed new tires and from wheel bearings. I dropped it off there and after expecting, I was told that I only needed tires. They could have easily replaced my bearings and took my money but they did not. They opened my eyes that all repair shops are NOT bad.Fast forward, my car needed a new battery so I purchased one. After driving maybe a mile, my check engine light came on and my car started shutting off. I call the dealership explaining had happened since they performed the maintenance and they say it sounds like the alternator is going bad. WHAT!!! I bought this car brand new and have had it for 6 yrs no problem! I took it back to Lyman and they noticed that my car was low on oil (no leaks visible) and the dealer failed to connect the mass air flow properly! Once again Lyman has saved me! They have a new customer for life!

Lyman Automotive has not only the best customer service but the friendliest staff. For me, trying to even understand the foreign language of automotive's is impossible. Lyman's does a terrific job of explaining the issue and what the solution is. I will never take another car anywhere else. I feel welcome from the moment I walk in the door. Lyman is truly the place to go for top notch service at a great price!

Used Lyman Automotive for the first time today, The gentleman at the counter informed me that they were very busy today. That said since I was needing to wait on the car they worked me in very quickly. Great service and customer service was exceptional! I will be back.

I have been taking my personal vehicles and company vehicles to Lyman Autos for years now and have been nothing but please with my service, and highly recommend. Lyman Auto is the type of Repair shop you can feel safe sending your wife, your daughter and not worry about being taken advantage of. Excellent service and and an atmosphere of integrity.

Scott Tooley and the crew at Midlothian shop are 1st Class. I spent nearly 30 years in automotive industry and to just be able to tell them the issues and say fix it and to know that it will be fixed at a great price is a great thing. Have recommended them to several friends and family members. Awesome shop!! Awesome crew!!! An actually say the same for both shops.Services: Brakes, Oil change

I have never been to a more hospitable auto shop than Lyman Automotive. They treated me like a VIP even though I was only getting a state inspection and a few simple jobs done. After some issues with shops in/near Richmond, a friend recommended I visit Lyman - who is about 45 minutes from my current place. The drive was absolutely worth it! They greeted me by name upon arrival, remembered that I had asked about Wi-Fi previously and provided me with the password - I didn't need to ask twice! James, the owner, even asked how my visit was. He is running a truly excellent operation here.

I have been coming to lymans for for a few years . They always have been very honest and professional about all the repairs they have done for my vehicles. They do not upcharge you or try to do unnecessary repairs to run up a bill . They have always been on time with repairs and communicate with you . I will continue go to lymans for my vehicle repairs and inspections.
