I took my 2006 Ford Ranger to Hyltons for an erratically shifting automatic transmission. Jason quickly determined that the 4x4 selector switch was at fault. He suggested that I fix it myself due to the simplicity of the repair and to save me money. His integrity and honesty blew me away! Going forward, I won't hesitate to take my vehicles to Hyltons for any transmission problems.

Had a great experience here. I wanted to upgrade the torque converter in our 2012 Yukon XL Denali for towing duty and they recommended one with a billet case and upgraded internals for a reasonable price from one of their suppliers. They got the job done when they said they would for less than the price they quoted me, and they did the work right. No leaks, no noises, no problems after a few thousand towing miles since. And, they were friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. It doesn t get any better than that. Happy customer.

My daughter had a great experience at Hylton's transmission. Her vehicle was having what we thought was transmission issues and Hylton's was able to get her in quickly, as she needs to travel back to school soon, and were so kind to her. Since her car is having electrical issues they were not able to fix it on site, but were so helpful in assisting her to find a place and arrangements to help her. I would highly recommend them and know that we will be returning for business as they are outstanding!Service: Transmission

These guys fixed my torque converter shudder same day I dropped it off for a very reasonable price. Another reputable repair shop had told me there was nothing I could do to fix my issue other than spend several thousand dollars to replace my transmission. Glad I found Hyltons Transmission. Thanks guys!

These guys are great. They are building and installing a four speed transmission in my military HUMVEE, which is out of the ordinary vehicle to say the least!!!

Great guys ...fixed me right up!........update Sept 29, '23, truck had vibration issue noticed within weeks of gettin my truck back. Was told it must be a broken motor mount issue, installed new motor mounts..vibration even MORE noticeable..instead of brazing my dipstick tube they used black silicone caulk , found this issue when i was under my truck and saw the dipstick hanging out...now just 4 years since my transmission was "rebuilt" i have no overdrive at all , needless to say i am not a happy man at all , after paying a small fortune to have my transmission "rebuilt" which they probly didnt even do but charged for it just the same

Awful service, Kept car for over a week with no calls to update on status, Took car there to check transmission, No transmission lights were present in car when we dropped car off, 10 minutes down the road with car after they looked at it and transmission was jerking and check engine AND Transmission lights were on in dash, They said they couldn't find anything wrong with transmission, I would not recommend this shop at all.

These people are great!!!I was towing a 30,000 lb trailer with my pickup truck, and severely overheated my transmission.Anyone else would have tried to sell me a $4,000 transmission.They were great about telling me the options and prospects for repairs. I chose to do a complete fluid change of both the transmission and torque converter. I put in a huge transmission cooler. And have not had problems since. They saved me $4,000. I am not local, but I would go out of my way they have these people help me.They are honest. They will give you a fair assessment of your transmission, explain your options and why, and charge you a fair price. I gave them $100 tip. I can't remember doing that before.also they have the best transmission warranty I've ever heard of. I go back there any chance I got.

Stopped to see if they could flash my TCM. The guy was kind and told me someone who could do it. Friendly folks. Rebuilt a transmission for me years ago and did a good job.

I had taken my car to the dealership for a hesitation/shuddering effect which they couldn't replicate, despite how consistent it was. This went on for almost 2 years. When I took it back the last time, they determined that it required a torque converter for $2800 (plus tax). I took it to Hylton's and they said it didn't even need a torque converter. They repaired it for $250 and it's been running perfectly ever since!

Jason and his team at Hyltons are experienced, honest and good. I've worked with them for 3 years and they fix the problem without unnecessary expenses. We've had a few big dealerships tell us a transmission needed to be replaced for $4,000, when Hyltons found a leaking hose and fixed it for $300 - $400!When a transmission does need to be replaced, they offer several alternatives from used to remanufactured depending on customer's budget.Excellent results at Hyltons! My 1997 gmc sierra was making a rattling noise I thought it was coming from the flywheel I was getting tired of that noise so I bring it to hylton transmission and it turned out to be the torque converter it was missing some screws and the other screws was loose they replace the screws. My transmission failed while making a stop in Mechanicsville on my way from NC to my son's wedding in NY. If something like this had to happen it couldn't have happened in a better place, just a few streets from Hylton's. Vernon was amazing. He went above and beyond to assure me that he would take care of everything and have my car ready by the time I returned from the wedding. I have never had better service nor felt so secure in the work he performed.

A rare find close to me. Only does transmissions, honest shop. Never does anything without your approval. You need drive train work, go by and see them.
