Arrived 30+ minutes before closing and the Mechanic told me "Come on! Don't you know we're tired" and told me to leave, who tells that to a customer trying to do business with them???? Definitately not going there ever again.

DO NOT GO to these people to get your inspection done. They will scam you for no reasons and make you fail the inspection just because they want to rob you. From now on, I will never take any of my cars to his shop

I have yesterday Very very bad experience with these people you doing for state inspection Anybody go over there 99%Your inspection go failed he tell you more than $1000 for work 1st now for me and he took anybody over thereThen take off your safety sticker ThenThen he explain you what is your need these people is my vehicle he failed he gimme the more than $1000 a bill then I go across the street Exxon gas stationWithout any work because car no need any work these people Liar try to make extra extra money otherwise it's the black guy who's sit on the office he charge you $200 he gave me the safety stickerPlease careful this is camera thief and very very bad people

DO NOT GO GET SAFETY INSPECTION OR EMISSIONS HERE!!they use a fine toothed comb to find something wrong with your car just to charge you lots of money to fix. For example a rear wiper blade that shouldn't even be inspected and my front is brand new. And $50 to replace the rear only, which is highway robbery. Unless you have a brand new car that you have done nothing to or want to spend lots of money on your car to pass...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ..and save yourself a headache.I made a mistake coming here since I thought it was only 2 cars ahead of me which was shorter then usual. I normally go somewhere else and has been passing inspection with the same condition for several years now. Again go somewhere else. You can thank me later.

At first, I was hesitant at pulling into a drive-thru line to get my state inspection and emissions testing done, with 7 cars ahead of me, and having not spoken to anyone in advance to verify what I was doing.30 minutes after pulling into line, they were finished with my vehicle. I have never before seen such amazing efficiency in process at a mechanic shop, as I did on Saturday (23SEP2023) at Manassas Tire and Auto.The folks inside were nice. The waiting area was clean, with a million snacks and drinks available.If you need a state inspection or emissions test done, Manassas Tire and Auto is the absolute best.

I just got there, and they ruin my car, I just did the inspection and they said something wrong with my car they little take out all the oil terrible experience but for the review, Im not the only one who happened this but sure will do something about it.

This review has nothing to do with the mechanics they are amazing. But the night manager seems to have a personal issue with me. I have come to this gas station every day for 2 1/2 years and spent thousands!!! The other night I pumped gas and decided to take some pictures of receipts on and app for cash back. I m literally minding my own business I am the only car in the parking lot. The manager decides to walk outside and tell me that I cannot be here and I am blocking all the pumps at the gas station and that he has been watching me on the cameras. I proceeded to tell him that you know I m not going to be here all night and how rude and disrespectful this visit was to the side of my car. I have spent thousands!!! In this place. Never again though!!! And I just dropped over 1400 dollars in the garage to fix my water pump a week before. They did an amazing job thx guys!!!

BEWARE OF SCAMMERSNever come here for state inspection or emissions. They will fail you because of a nonexistent problem. They said my car needed new wheel bearings when i knew my car didn't (because there was no noise whatsoever coming from the wheels), took it to other place and they say they were fine.

My partner took his car to replace the clutch and the mechanic broke something and now the owner is saying he ll fix it for $1000. Are you kidding me? They just lost our business and don t use this Shell. Unless of course you don t mind being ripped off!!

Will NEVER go here again. WARNING this place is and will scam you for every penny possible. Went for a inspection and they failed me for needing 2 rear tires and rear shocks. They said it would cost me $959.77 for the work. ARE YOU JOKING!! So I went to Dominion Tire and they did the work along with tire purchase for $280.00. So disappointed in this place and the audacity of them to try and take advantage of someone. They should be ashamed and closed for business after that. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Negative 5 stars!!

They are very honest and reliable. I won t go anywhere else. After my husband died last year I move back to Virginia from Florida. They winterized my car and did the inspection so I could retitle the car in Virginia. They were so thorough and so kind. I stopped in today to get gas and told them I needed window washer fluid. They sold me the fluid, filled up the correct container in the car and showed me how to do it next time.

Total dishonest upsell place. AVOID. My son took his Toyota truck for State Inspection and Emissions. They failed the vehicle on both counts. Here is exactly what the comments said. "E/B no holding Front Marker light not Amber enough. Two wiper blades, Muffler and tail pipe need it. Unseen brake shoes"I told him to immediately get out of there. We took the vehicle to a more reputable service shop in Manassas and showed them the report from the other place and authorized them to do whatever was necessary to pass inspection. They called me and told me that there was nothing wrong with the muffler and tailpipe, no holes no leaks no problems. They had no idea what the Marker light issue was since the lights work and are behind amber plastic. They pulled the rear drums and said it needed just to be cleaned and adjusted and that the brake shoes were fine. As for the wipers, the technician stated they were showing some wear and could use a new set.In my opinion, the Shell Station is clearly using the inspection service to drum up unnecessary service work on unsuspecting car owners. The 2nd shop could have totally sold me a new exhaust but because they are honest and have integrity (unlike the Shell Station) they didn't sell me something I didn't need. The inspector's name on the sheet is Nabi Amin.So be warned, this place is all about the upsell and generating unnecessary work.

I would give this place a -5 stars but no option to do so!They are either scammers/ thiefs or they need their machines fixed at this location! We recently got emissions checked here for my mom and they failed her 2year old jeep! They said the o2 sensors needed to be replaced and my catalytic converter as well. Ofcourse we immediately took the car to Jeep dealer and they ran tests for emissions and it passed! I asked about those two things mentioned on the shell report and they said nope everything is running well and passed! They were trying to scam us! I know times are difficult but don't try to steal from your customers!

I went into the Shell gas station to get a car inspection .. And I must say they were so nice to me, and the station was extremely clean that I was taking back !The staff was very friendly and professional and the place was clean ..I will definitely come back for gas and service ...

Completely fixed a challenging ignition problem on an 22yo Dodge van. Were patient, helpful, informative, and found a replacement computer for a very reasonable price. Also, they only did the work that was necessary to make the car roadworthy again, and let me know of other possible issues without pushing more repairs, which I appreciated. Finally, the car has been running better than it has in years! Highly recommend.

I brought my wife's car into this location for an emissions test and the guy tells me that we must have had recent work done on the car (which we didn't) so they couldn't complete the emissions and that she needed to drive the car 200 to 250 miles to "reset" the computer before we could get the emission test done. Today my wife took the car to a different shop and they completed the emissions testing with no problem. Either someone doesn't know what the hell they are doing or it was poor customer service.What a joke!

I have used this mechanic for tires and service over the past three years, but this last visit caught my attention in a negative way and as a result, I'm going to be looking for a new mechanic. This visit, I brought my car in for a simple DMV inspection and I got blind-sided by an eager technician who tried to snare me into expensive additional service charges. I was able to escape from this by explaining that the car is due to be traded in on a new vehicle within the next two or three months. Also and as a 71-year-old retiree this is very important to me, none of the workers at this shop wears a viral protection mask. Virtually every one of their customers wears a mask, but they are entirely dismissive of our safety. This is wrong. I'm looking for a new car service shop.

If I could give a 0 I would. The level of customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE! I have never been to an establishment where the manager tells me that I am NOT going to take my car to the dealer to have a service done he recommended because he could do it cheaper!!! I don't think so. Never again will I return to this unprofessional company for any type of service

Came to this Shell station for inspection and emissions. Was greeted promptly by a mechanic, who somewhat oddly made a point to inform me prior to inspecting that car that, if my car were to fail, we would not be able to continue driving the car. To which I'm like, yep, understood, that's the point of governmental safety inspections.So we go inside where there are two mustached men, one of whom is plainly rude and seems to refuse eye contact. The man informed us within 5 minutes into the inspection that we had already failed, and that it was a bad decision to have brought the car in for inspection. After waiting for another 30 minutes, we were informed that our car failed due to brakes and to an issue with a "tie rod". They offered to complete the repairs for over $600, only wait, they did not have the parts needed. I asked if I could go to another shop for the repairs, with the man warning me that I would not be able to find another repair shop to give a passing inspection.... Notice, I did not ask about seeking a second opinion, yet this man is telling me that I cannot get one.So we end up going to another mechanic, and GUESS WHAT???Our car passed inspection without issue.I do not typically write reviews, but this Shell station has inspired me to start. Not only does this experience seem to hint at potentially deceptive/dishonest business practices, but this is the first experience I can recall of a business seemingly actively upset with me for seeking to pay them for a service. I was shouted to from across the tiny station multiple times, and I witnessed the same man rudely refuse to tell another customer where to park when he was asking about the inspection line. Part of me believes that he was upset with me for wearing a mask. I don't really know. Maybe he just hates customers? Having a bad day? Got up on the wrong side of the bed? Secretly hates cars? Still bitter about how they butchered the final Star Wars trilogy? Hemorrhoids? Couldn't fit his hand inside of a Pringles can? Obama?The point is, I do not know what made this man seemingly so irritated by my wife and I having entered his business. (Is it customary to bring a gift to your mechanic? Perhaps some non-expired travel shaving kits for the Shell station? Should I have brought the parts they didn't have for the repair that was not needed? I do not know....)Zero stars. The End.

Been here various times for a inspection & oil changes. Each time i had no problem with them. They are nice & respectful, I will continue to come back in future. Definitely will recommend to people.

Mark the manager is very nice and direct about what need's to be done with your car. Always call to schedule an appointment versus just going there. I never have to wait too long. Overall good shop. I'll continue to go.

Visiting daughter and discovered a nail in my tire. Although he was short staffed, he took a few minutes out of his busy schedule to help me. My tire had gone flat in his parking lot. It was quick and easy. Thank you for helping me.

I was driving down the main road when all of a sudden my tire blew. I pulled into this station to not only find out they were able to replace my tire, but also took care of my brakes as well. The service was done quickly so i did not have a long wait. The owners were more then friendly and i will be back next month for my oil change.

If I could leave less than a star I would. Dropped off car for oil change and emissions. Got a call and then a quote saying the car needed front brake pads and cabin filter which they could do for $335. Problem is.....I just personally changed both of those a couple weeks ago. When I confronted them, they said it was a language barrier with the mechanic. Not buying it. Read the reviews before coming here. Who knows what you re getting here. Did they even change the oil???? Who knows? Good thing it wasn t my wife or daughter they called. They would ve just told them to do it. TERRIBLE!!!!!

Convenient Virginia State safety and emissions inspections. First come first served, Monday through Saturday. Plan for 15 minutes for each car in front of you. Queue up between the lines painted on the asphalt, behind the inspection sign on Liberia side of parking lot. Reasonable service.

My husband and I have been taking our cars to Manassas Shell on Liberia Ave since 1986 and we have always had a great experience. They treat us like neighbors and we've never felt pressured to have work done. In fact, we have taken cars to them when work was urgently suggested by dealerships and these guys have always told us when the work was not necessary. Their work has always beej terrific! I never hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. My son takes his car in to them when he's in town from Charlotte to have work done here.

I went to my car dealership for a state inspection. They failed my inspection over a light bulb and told me it will cost $756 dollars to replace it. I went to Manassas Tire and Auto and they replaced the light bulb for only $44. Going forward, I will be taking my vehicles to Manassas Tire and Auto. Their honesty saved me hundreds of dollars.
