Shawn s service is great. He replaced the torque converter on my 10 speed F150. Drives like new again and they were the best price in the area. truck was done in two days. Highly recommend.

Wouldn't let me make a new one, so I am editing my old review.New Comments: We had an issue with our transmission after we moved out of state. I called Jim's and they were willing to work with me finding a transmission repair facility in our new state while it was still under warranty. They're going to reimburse me for the repair. I can't say enough about the professionalism and the overall quality of customer service by Jim's Transmission. Would 100% recommend them again and again.Old Comments: Jim's Transmission Service is great! When my daughter's transmission in her 2004 Wrangler went bad, we checked with other shops and felt their prices were excessive and their warranty was mediocre. We called Shawn and the prices here were extremely reasonable and his repairs also included a 3yr/50k warranty. They got us in quickly and kept us informed with the status. I recommend Jim's Transmission Service for any of your transmission work. Their customer service was excellent and the quality of work has been great!Thanks again guys!Service: Transmission

I recently had the pleasure of using Jim's Shop for some automotive repairs and maintenance, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with their service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and Shawn, was very pleasant to work with.The pricing was fair and reasonable, and Shawn offered excellent advice and recommendations throughout the process. He took the time to explain everything to me in detail, making sure I understood what needed to be done and why.But what really stood out to me was the exceptional customer service. Everyone I spoke with was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. They truly care about their customers and their satisfaction.Overall, I highly recommend this mechanic shop for anyone in need of automotive repairs and maintenance. I've dealt with alot of shops in my life, this one is one of two that I'd stake my life on. Customer service was amazing. Sean is the man. And the work was done in a timely fashion even with all the supply chain issues that we as a country face. My Acura tl is back to running tip top. Thanks guys.

They really helped me get my car back on the road as soon as possible. Staff is awesome, especially Sean, I would call in every few days to make sure we would get our car ready by a certain date and Sean was great with updating us the status. I m really blown away how awesome this shop was. If I ever need anything transmission related (hopefully I don t) I will be sure to come here. I will also recommend all my family and friends to this place.

I had a unique issue with my 2016 F150, related to the transmission. Using the dealer was not an option, long story. So I found Jim's on Google and decided to contact them. Spoke with Shawn who immediately knew about my trans issue and told me it would not be a problem for them to fix. Brought my own part with me and ended up having them do my brakes (brought those parts with me too), oil change, brake flush, and several other regular maintenance items. Shawn was very communicative and friendly and I just really appreciated how on top of things he was. Didn't meet the actual repair folks but I am very happy with my overall experience and my truck is driving like a dream now. I know I saved a ton of money. My 2000 automatic trans went out on the highway. Lost everything except overdrive. Had these guys rebuild the whole thing. Ended up just being a pressure leak in the valve body, but I got the car used and didn't know what kind of damage had been done to it. 6 months later and ive been driving the beast every day, and she screams with power, has nice smooth shifts and doesn't trip up at all like it used to. I've put nearly 15k miles on it since then and couldn't be happier. Definitely recommend this shop;EDIT: Engine went out at about 155K. Camshaft phaser broke loose and she ran without oil pump on the highway, busted up some components. Getting a new motor when possible since I know the transmission is SOLID!Services: Transmission, Transmission replacement, Transmission repair

Needed a new clutch among other things. Jim's was very cost effective compared to other places I looked, they were very easy to get ahold of and they called me numerous times to keep me updated on the status of my car. They seem trustworthy to me, a woman with decent knowledge of cars but no way of doing difficult jobs. Will go back if I need to get anything done.

Had a Solenoid Valve blow. Multiple places in Woodbridge did not want to fix it, and I was referred to Jim s. They did a excellent job, and the vehicle became extremely quiet, and runs even better. Strongly recommended Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Trustworthy mechanic. My entire family has been coming here for years. Never been disappointed with the work.It s so hard to find a mechanic that you feel like you can trust.James is always very warm and friendly. He goes out of his way to explain what needs done and why.I ve even had the experience of paying for a repair that ended up not being the source of the noise my car was making and James refunded what I paid for labor and the cost of the part. That s really how it should be, but good luck getting that sort of service at most places.I have recommended James (Jim s Transmission) to everyone in my family and all my friends.

They put life back into my '94 Jeep XJ. The remanufactured transmission and labor costs were definitely fair. Shawn has been so helpful throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend their services. Great shop

Shawn is the nicest guy ever!!!!On January 12, 2022, my car, 2011 Toyota Scion XB, was stolen. A few days later, on January 16, 2022, it was finally recovered; however, the transaction was completed blown out. Despite the stressfulness of the entire situation/incident, Shawn was beyond amazing and assisted with everything. Jim replaced our F150 transmission and also informed us our steering was about to go. We took it back in to have the steering serviced/replaced. They are fair priced and do quality work. Will continue to use them

Father and son working together. Son up front is very nice and polite. Father is very knowledge and does good work. Their pricing is very reasonable and comes with a good warranty. Very please with the work and will be bringing in any of our other vehicles there is we ever have issues. Thank you so much.

Finally an honest professional. They are quick and fair. When you need a transmission looked at, you need someone who knows what they are doing. James is a true expert. Sean (or Shawn) was quick to get back to me and a pleasure to deal with. This shop is a good find.

I had my transmission break on me and they offered me a great deal with a really quick turn around. My wife had to pick truck up so I didnt get to examine work at shop but wife told me there was a ticking noise when she was driving it back home. The next day I took it on a test drive and immediately notice a big exhaust leak that was causing the noise. I contacted the shop to inform them of the leak and they told me it was from a broken bolt from my exhaust manifold. After driving my truck back to the shop they showed me where it was leaking from, they still said it was from exhaust manifold. So I asked them if they were going to fix it because the truck didnt have the leak before I dropped it off and know it did. They said it wasnt because of their work and I had to get a new exhaust manifold gasket and get the bolt extracted out to fix the issue. I was going to give them a 1 star but the original issue with my truck was fixed at fare prize and great timing. Disappointed in this shop.

Great service. Honest people. I love these guys. I have been to quite alot of different shops around manassas and this is the best one i have experienced with. Price is very reasonable. The guys are honest. And honesty is hard to find when dealing with mechanics and their shops.. I recommend Jims Transmission to everyone i know.

This guy is golden!Its hard to find an autoshop that won't push extra parts and labor to boost profits. Believe me I've caught a few out over the years as I know what I'm looking for.He's honest and trustworthy. Twice he's recommended repairs to components as opposed to replacement, saving me huge $$$.I am a loyal customer who will be the first to call him when I have a problem

Took my car in for a repair estimate after it had been mishandled at a prior transmission shop called aamco. The prior shop had stripped mounts, installed the wrong torque converter, wrong detente cable which then split, not replaced the inspection cover, and disconnected the speedo donut gear out of spite.Jim's was able to help me with the detente cable, but not other transmission work.But they found me another transmission shop that could help. They were also up front and honest about costs, and what they could and could not do.

Gave me a quote over the phone to rebuild automatic transmission on late model ford van. Stuck to the quote and done in 2 days. Runs like a champ. Good to see we still have honest and talented businesses. James really knows what he is doing!!

Gave me a quote before I brought my car in, after verifying the transmission would have to be rebuilt told me it would take two to three days and my vehicle was ready two and a half days later. I will all my repairs on that car worked this way.
