Has anyone ever had success in getting a large scale project done with this garage? They've had my parents car for over 2 years promising to replace the engine, but have failed to do so. In addition, he has essentially ghosted them. I've checked with other garages but because this car has been 'torn down' no one will touch it. Completely at a loss on what to do with it at this point. Highly DO NOT recommend using this garage. Its a shame that no stars isn't an option.

Lou was so friendly, professional, and accommodating. We showed up with a radiator issue and he quickly solved the problem and got us back on the road again, despite his busy garage. Saved our vacation! Thank you Lou for your kindness!

This is the place to go if you want your vehicle to dry rot in the parking lot. Dont believe me, look at the inspection stickers of all the cars in the lot before you leave yours. Was over a year before I got my truck back for a brake job. Kept getting the run around and how they were going to get on it. Never happened until I sent a tow truck up there.Service: Brakes

I definitely recommend getting any type of auto repair done at Lou s. I started coming here after my dad told me that he s used him for 25 years and is the most honest mechanic he knows. After meeting him and getting some repairs done to my vehicle, I was thoroughly impressed. No extra fluff, prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. They treat you like family.

First impression. Price was reasonable, received good explanation about necessary etc repairs, plans etc. However, all changed so fast. I never heard back from Lou and team although I was ready to pay for service and asked about many updates regarding my car inspection. It just ended up being frustrating as I had to call them, try to see them to have updates. At the end, I had to go to another garage for service since I ended up not hearing back from them at all. This is the reason for my rating.

Lou's auto repair is a top notch shop. I've had several vehicles repaired at his shop and each time he has been honest and fair. I will not take my vehicles elsewhere. My wife's 2002 Jeep Liberty lost it's brakes and Lou worked the Jeep in and fixed the issue promptly and economically. I highly recommend this shop.

Lou is the most helpful, honest car repairman I've ever known. He has taken care of me on a number of occasions not the least of which when Apple Ford overfilled my coolant and I ended up broken down right by his shop. I couldn't recommend him more highly if I tried.

Had to move out of the area, but still bringing my vehicles back to Lou's because they are the only mechanics I know who discuss your car so candidly--and downright educationally!--that you can plan, prioritize, and budget your long-term maintenance needs. And they treat you like family.

I've always been told that Lou's is honest and does good work... well I had a different experience. A couple months ago I had them change out my rear brake lines. He charged me an astronomical amount because he had to drop the gas tank to get the old lines out and install the new lines, which is why I got the garage to do it bc I didn't want to drop the tank and I wanted it to be done correct. Well I just put my truck up on the lift today and noticed they never removed my old lines and just ran the new lines along the bottom of the truck exposed to everything. That's some honesty right there folks!! Always check the work!

Was in town for one day visiting my daughter. Her car needed some immediate help. Lou was great. Squeezed me in, found the problem, showed me the issue and explained what needed to be done in plain, simple terms. Fixed the car doing only what was needed and a very fair price. No "extra" issues, no "padding" - just honest, friendly repair. It is comforting to know I have a trustworthy, friendly, and affordable place to send my kids for any car issues.

This place had my daughters car for a month nothing was done to her car within that month. There seem to be no communication between staff there calls where not returned. I called about the car yesterday said I was going to get a call back never received three hours later my daughter called she was told he don t have the time to call her back. We go to pick up the car up and no one says anything to her. I m not sure why we got this treatment seems like other people have had good experiences here. If they didn t want to work on the car they could have said something not just letting it sit there for a month.Service: Electrical

Lou is very personable and treats customers as if they are family. If he doesn't have the solution or part needed, he will search far and wide until he finds it. I feel very comfortable having Lou's Auto service my vehicles.

My husband and son wasted a whole day after an appointment was made at 8:30 in the morning to get a vehicle inspected! Was moved around the little parking lot 3 or more times to let others ahead of him. Was told that owner's sons dog died and my husband was asked to wait only to be told by owner that they would call him in 45 minutes to get him back up there. NEVER GOT A CALL! All day long and no call. Ended up going up the street and getting a professional job done! Thanks for nothing. If I could give a Zero rating I would!

Don't leave your car here unless you won't need it back for almost a year. The amount of time I had to wait for my Honda was outrageous. I thought maybe it was just because it was a Japanese car (even though they're very common). I checked with my grandson's best friend and he said they took almost 7 months to get to his Ford.

Good guy with maybe good intentions, but after waiting 13 months and nine calls later my car still wasn't done eventually I had to pick it up and take it elsewhere and that's the reason for the low rating.

Had my AC repaired but it still wasn't cooling properly. Lou stood behind his work and spent much more time getting it right without complaining or trying to charge me further. Thanks for the attitude and integrity!

I was from out of town and hired Lou to do a pre-sale inspection on a car I was interested in buying. He was thorough, patient and reasonable. When a serious problem was found, he stayed late to fix it that same day so I could drive my new car home.

I highly reccommend going to see Lou. My daughter was told by jiffy lube that she needed a coolant flush and was at risk for engine overheat. She called at least 10 mechanics in both Lynchburg and Greensboro. Most all of them jumped at the chance to take her money saying a flush would cost upwards of 150 dollars. When she called Lou's he offered to check her coolant for free and quoted her for MUCH less. After checking the coolant he assured her that it was in good shape. He didnt charge her for his time. An honest man. My family and I will all be using Lou's from now on.

Lou and his team were extremely thoughtful My experience here was one that I will never forget I literally took my car in Monday morning and got my car back Tuesday evening this was the quickest process I ve ever been through with the auto repair shop they were so understanding and patient with me I highly recommend everyone to go here.

I recently had my CV axles replaced by Lou. A couple of days later, I noticed a bad leak under my car. I took it back to Lou and he replaced the seal at no charge.
