Unfortunately while passing through Lexington in July I was involved in an accident with our truck and trailer. But luckily for us it was literally blocks from Goad s. Not being from the area, 400 miles away, we were not sure where we would need to bring our now disabled truck. Our insurance pointed us to Goad s as one of their preferred body shops. Being 400 miles away from where my truck was now stranded, Goad s made sure to keep in constant communications with us and keep me up to date with anything dealing with the insurance company. After 3 months and 25k in repairs we were ready to go and pick our truck up.When we arrived it was nice to meet the Goad s team. They made sure everything was perfect for us. They managed to not only make my truck whole again but made it look great. Being a 10 year old truck I was happy it was even repaired but they also went above and beyond to make it look like better than new. Body work, paint and other repairs looked great and would make it hard to know this truck was almost rebuilt from scratch with all the parts that were replaced or repaired. Even after their job was done we had minor mechanical issue creep up as a result of the crash. Goad s and their team were quick to jump in and get things right. Thank you for excellent service! Not that I want to be in another crash in Lexington, but if I am I know where to turn for repairs. When I arrived At Goad s Body Shop, Bruce came out to greet me, and he made a great impression on me. He is an earnestly concerned professional. He kept me up to date by sending me emails on the progress of my claim & my auto repair.Unfortunately, I have needed to use automobile body repair shops before. And, frankly, Goad s Body Shop has got them all beat!

Staff went WAY above and beyond, brought my truck in for a big scuff in the back, and they took the liberty of cleaning the floor mats when they were done, AND a huge shout out to Paul for fixing an alarm that had been going off for upwards to a year that I just could not fix. More than exceptional service, they treated my car like it was their own. Not to mention the original reason I went there, the back is prestine! Thank you Goads!

I would give a 0 star review if possible, but I m settling for a 1 star review. I highly recommend taking your car literally anywhere else but here if at all possible. Here is why: buckle up, because this is quite a story and will have you wondering how did we end up here? by the end of it because, trust me, I felt that way.While parked, I had someone back into my car at the end of July. It was not extensive damage, but enough the trunk would not latch after the incident and there were also slight dents in the trunk. A claim was submitted and I went to Goads for an estimate. I was told that the quickest appointment would be in December, which is not ideal of course, but I understand people are backed up and busy. I was told that if I could drop my car off for a few days for further assessment she would know for certain how long my appointment needed to be and if any other minor things were broken under the bumper. I was going out of state for a little over a week so I agreed to drop my car off before I left for them to further assess. Since I assumed that my car would be available for pick up before I got back, I gave approval for my parents to pick it up when ready. My car was dropped off on a Friday.The following Thursday, my mom receives a phone call from the shop about issues with my car and that it will not be ready when I get back and I needed to request a rental through insurance. Turns out, she took it upon herself to begin fixing my car without my approval, since I thought I was dropping it off for further assessment. I got home the following Tuesday in the later part of the evening. On Wednesday afternoon I called Goads because I hadn t received any communication about my vehicle. I was told that it would not be ready until at least another week - at the earliest. So what started as a few day assessment turned into a 3 week ordeal. But it gets worse.Thursday morning I get a call from the insurance company that my car has been labeled a total loss because Goads has run the bill up to 75% or more of what my car is even valued at!! So at this point the only option is to sign my title over to insurance, receive a settlement, and buy another vehicle. Obviously, I am wildly confused as to how this happened. How have they had my vehicle for 2 weeks and not realized the damage was more extensive than what they initially thought? And considering this was supposed to be an assessment in the first place, when they realized damage was more extensive, why would they not call and communicate that with me in case I wanted to go with another option? This was my only vehicle and I had reasons for being attached to it, but now I have to part with it simply due to a lack of communication. That Thursday evening, while on the phone with the insurance company, I was told that they received the total loss claim the day before which is the same day I called to find out when she estimated my car to be ready and I was told the following week. I suppose she didn t want to relay the bad news herself and just took it upon herself to wait for the insurance to reach out instead, even though I could have begun the settlement process even earlier had I known.To make a bad situation even worse, I go up to Goads to retrieve my tags and any other personal items I may have left in the car and I m told by the estimator, Julie, to look at it as a blessing (her words), as I had some lights that were on on the dash. I would like to know how my vehicle being considered a total loss is a blessing, but I guess now I don t have to look at that pesky light. I mean, really? How insensitive and asinine to say to someone.In conclusion, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with at a body shop. Again, if at all possible, go ANYwhere else.

The right hand does not communicate with the left. Used Goads as it was a preferred shop by my insurance, however, if I could go back in time - I d take my chances elsewhere. 0/10 do not recommend.

I recently got my rear-view mirror fixed here and had a great experience. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to charge me half of what I was quoted at another body shop in Texas and saved me many hundreds of dollars. My car was ready within two hours of dropping it off. Thank you so much!!! I highly recommend Goad s body shop.

Weren't interested in painting my car. Told me they don't paint entire cars (even though they were highly recommended by several people at a local car show). No reason given. Told me it would cost more than the car was worth. The car is worth a LOT to my wife. Can't leave zero stars.I received the below response from Goads. My reaction is "Why do you care?". What business of Goads is it if I want to spend $10000 on painting a car worth $3000? The car in question belongs to my wife and is a 2003 Mercury Marauder. Not many were made between 2002 and 2004 and fewer were made in this particular blue. The car is 20 years old with 200,000 miles on it and is in excellent mechanical condition. All it needs is some minor body work and fresh paint. It's money out of my pocket and I have a right to spend it as I wish.Goads was recommended to me by several participants at the recent Gina Trattoria's car show. These were all custom paint jobs and very expensive. I can only conclude that my wife's car isn't fancy enough or my money good enough for Goads to spend time painting it.Based on this experience, I would not recommend Goads to anyone for any kind of work.

We backed into a vehicle let the gentleman get 2 estimates he liked Goad's so we let him take his vehicle to them. The shop called a few weeks back told us the car was in the shop. The lady said they would call if anything changes in the repair process. No call then the bill comes in 500 plus dollars higher the service writer calls to tell me this. He was very rude when he spoke to me then I ask to speak to the owner he told me no! I said I'll call back he said hold on a minute. I spoke to the owner who did not accept responsibility for any of the increase in the bill. I will be contacting the BBB today. They also charged us 3% to pay with a debit card. In Colorado that's illegal. Hope the customer likes his repair because if you have a choice look elsewhere!!!

The entire staff at Goad's is FABULOUS! Rockbridge County is fortunate to have Goad's Body Shop working in our community! They are professional, skillful and dow right nice!!!

Took my 97 truck to have frame straightened, only to go back and loaded on the trailer 3 1/2 months later. I think they like frying the bigger fish. Insurance work is bigger money than my $700 -$800 job!!!!

Customer service was excellent 10/10. The quality of work however was very poor. When I went to pick up my car the hood they put on was out of alignment and chipped the grille paint when they shut it. They didnt even notice this I had to have them fix it after I went to pick up the car. The pieces they painted are orange pealed all over and they didnt even clean the 3M tape marks on the trunk from the previous spoiler. Not to sound more important than anyone else but it's really irritating looking at the paint on my newer Mercedes-Benz and seeing all these flaws. I would not recommend this shop for a paint job on a 2 year olds bicycle.

Goad's was the best and the most friendly auto repair shop I've ever visited. I started to hear some metal waggling sound under my car when driving on an uneven road near Lexington, VA on my travel from Chicago to Washington D.C. A rep from my hotel stay, Days Inn, recommended Goad's and I quickly drove in for a check. The shop seemed to be a family-run business. A receptionist greeted me with a warm smile, offered me coffee and a seat, and, knowing that I was on the road, quickly get someone (I think his name is Wayne) to take a look. Wayne then took my car in and very soon had fixed it temporarily (again, for I was still traveling) He then explained to me patiently what exactly the problem was and recommended a permanent solution post trip. The receptionist, the manager, the mechanic and everyone seemed so very nice! It relieved my worries in a wink and they didn't charge me a dime for all this! Now back in Chicago, I won't get a good sleep without having recommended Goad's like the Days Inn rep! :)

Superb job on body work but struggles to complete simple tasks. Car is absolutely filthy on the inside of mud. They broke 2 tow hook covers while trying to fix the fact that they were installed upside down and then re-glued the rear view mirror on so crooked that the plastic cover wouldnt go back on.

About a year an a half ago had them paint my car, could tell something was wrong on the drivers side, thought it would blind-in in a few weeks, nope, my car was now two colors on one side, took it back, they did blind it from front fender to rear, but now my car looks like an oreo, they didn't pick the right shade, they didn't paint the top, rear hatch or bottom rockers, they gave such a hard time, even said that 60% of men are color blind, lol OK, now the paint on front pumper is cracking, should have listened to my frinds, wish they would write a review, I even live around here, GOADS has screwed over a lot of people an for some reason they won't take the time to give a review don't know how there re getting so many GOOD reviews when I hear so much bad

Very expensive. Just to replace front bumper and driver side fender they quote me $1700 for which i just paid $600 in Stanton Va.

Overpriced, but honest about it. Probably good for insurance work because you paid the premium or someone else caused the harm.
