Chris took care of me!!! He was very kind, attentive and friendly. I explain myself and help with the problem with the battery of my car. Although he was alone in the store, he never stopped smiling and being polite. I recommend having more staff in the store. They have a large and comfortable parking lot. And a wide variety of tools at very good prices, the area is clean and tidy!

I came in to buy a battery a month or two ago and allowed them to install it, as they offer free installation with the purchase. Couple weeks later my check engine light comes on; I take it to the shop and they inform me that it was installed improperly. The terminals were loose, so I wasn't getting proper voltage to the car. They tightened it and charged me 130 bucks.I informed the store and they told me to give it a few weeks to see if the check engine light comes back on, so we can know for sure that was actually the problem.The light never came back on, so I reached out to them again.They informed me there was nothing they were willing to do to reimburse me or accept responsibility. Didn't even apologize.Be warned, if you let them touch your car, you may end up footing the bill for their employees' incompetence. I can forgive mistakes, but the utter unwillingness to offer me ANYTHING to smooth the situation over is unforgivable.I used to come here for anything I needed for my car. I will never spend another dollar here, will tell all my friends to stay away, and I implore you all to do the same. They don't deserve any of our business.

There are helpful and knowledgeable staff at this location. Recently, I was looking for a replacement headlight and I asked ay the counter about the correct size/style for my car. Not only did the staff member tell me and then bring me what I asked for from the aisle, but they suggested that I buy two for similar brightness and so the other one wouldn't burn out so soon. This was possibly just an upsell, but certainly a helpful and logical one. Plus, I was out of the store and on my way in less than five minutes. Great service!

The manager at this store was very prompt and responsive in checking my car battery. It tested defective and he promptly replaced it with a new battery under warranty. The staff was very helpful. Thanks.

I needed a new battery. They tested mine and had a new one installed quickly. I was in and out in 15 minutes and they were very friendly and nice.

They have got most of the parts ready to go, however, at a cost. If you are in a pinch, you must pay...Not all bad though, they also have a tool loaning program which helps you get your job done without investing money in tools you only use once or two.

Really bad experience and annoying person at the counter. Was not helpful at all and was unwilling to process return of a purchase that was unopened. Returns are something that everyone offers. And I was trying to return this within an hour. This is just not acceptable.

I stopped in for a new battery and had a great experience. I was helped by Ivy who was very professional and extremely helpful. I wasn't expecting this level of service from a store. Ivy walked me to my car tools in hand, installed my new battery and took the battery core back for a credit. I recommend Advance Auto Herndon because everyone is friendly and helpful!

I was helped by Ivy who, assisted me nearly as soon as I walked in the door. she was very professional and quite friendly, making me feel very welcome. She even signed me up with my phone number and saved me $5 off my purchase. I will definitely come to this location again as a customer for future parts just because of this experience with her.

My battery died and got a new one with 2 year s warranty and the replaced one also dead. When I went to advance auto parts the personnel Kareem checked the battery and told that the battery is dead. I went at 8:10 pm to replace the battery the personnel was in a hurry to go home as it was raining and said they close at 8:30 although they close at 9. He was more interested to go home than help me which suggests poor customer service. They gave bad battery and also never interested to replace.

Needed a replacement battery for my Honda CRV. The young man told me he did not have a battery because my car was made in New Zealand. Really? Also thought it might rain and he could not install. It was not raining and my Honda is not from New Zealand. It was obvious he was really quiet quitting so I drove down the road to the other auto parts shop where they were not only able to find the same battery I suggested would work and installed and were extremely helpful. I realize the young man is likely in a job he hates and is probably not getting paid enough, so while I feel sorry for him in his personal plight, it was really inconvenient for me and my family. This is the very first bad review I have ever left on Google, as I like to only spread good things and always give people the benefit of the doubt. The experience was so bad I feel compelled to warn society at large. If you need more that tire shine move on.

Today, on June 4th, 2023, at the Advance Auto Parts store located at Centreville VA, I experienced an extremely unpleasant encounter with a floor salesperson by the name of Jorge.During my visit, Jorge used inappropriate language, including telling me to f**k off , when I politely approached him for assistance. This incident took place at approximately 3:45 pm, in front of other customers and store employees, creating an uncomfortable environment for everyone present.This experience was unprofessional and highly inappropriate. I hope that this incident does not reflect the standards of customer service upheld by Advance Auto Parts as a company.I trust that the management team will take appropriate action to address this issue and ensure such instances do not recur in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Had readily available exactly the parts and accessories I had in mind... Short trip in and out, fit my schedule nicely Quality accessories and motoring needs parts.. not junk like was everywhere in past years. Knowledgeable sales staff as well, they worked well together.. passing off my inquiry to another whom knew a little more about the part I had in mind.. great job! I was impressed because more often the people employed these days do not seem to have the work ethic of our generation

Great experience with Jorge, came for a weekend and ended up experiencing a coolant leak. Jorge took the time to help me fix my car and got it back to running properly. Definitely do not get the same experience back home. Would definitely recommend

Came in for a battery check and got great service from Steve and Jeff with the testing and installing a new battery. They even helped out when there were some issues after the install and worked to get everything in order. Great stuff overall.

I went to Advance Auto to purchase a alternator and a drive belt. Jorge was the guy who helped me and the transaction went smooth. After installing the alternator I noticed the battery light was on and my mechanic tested the alternator voltage and found that it was low. I went to the Ford dealership to purchase a new alternator and that fixed the issue. I went back to return the faulty alternator and the drive belt as the belt did not need replacement. I told the cashier that I was there to return a defected alternator and he said to wait a second. He asked Jorge for help taking back the defected alternator. Jorge opened the alternator box and immediately accused me of trying to return a part that wasn't theirs. He said it was missing a sticker and returned to his station. I asked to speak to a manager and Jorge said there was no manager on duty and that if I had a problem to take it up with corporate. I asked for a name or number to the manager and I was told very rudely by Jorge that there was no information that he could give me. Jorge was very rude and unprofessional, for him to be trusted to talk to your customers is a very bad move for the company. I will never return to Advance Auto and will make sure everyone I know does not go there as well. My company has a commercials account with you guys and will make sure our 4 stores stop doing business with Advance

I spoke with Caroline about getting new brake shoes for my car then came back for a refund because I bought the wrong product. She was more than helpful, very polite and patient with me. I really appreciate her attitude and generosity .

I understand that the employees in there are probably not mechanics, however, they should get a little more training on batteries. I went to 2 different Advanced Auto Parts (Herndon and Centreville) and both places kept telling me that my battery was fine, even though I kept telling them that it would not start unless it got a jump start. I had to call my 70 year old mom for her to explain to me that I need a new battery because it is more than likely the cold fuse or something like that. Long story short. I bought a new battery (from Advanced Auto) even though they kept telling me it was fine and now my car is staying like a dream.

Horrible place! This place was suppose to close in 20 mins and the guy didn t want to help me replace my battery. The guy saw I was in trouble and said to come back tomorrow to close a store. There was only 1 customer within the store. Horrible customer service. Will never come back here.

Somewhat busy, seemed slightly understaffed. Very large. More stock than most stores. Beneficial when needing things quickly, like OEM spark plugs with a certain gap. The few people there seemed knowledgeable and friendly.

I had ordered a 2 ton car jack and 2 2-ton jack stands online for pickup. I ordered it online because the website said it was in stock. When i got to the store they told me they dont have it in stock and they will pick it up from their Sterling location and give me a call in an hour. 5 hours later and still no call, i called to check. They said their driver never picked it up. and the representative told me i can either come to the store and pick up what i needed with what they have in stock (which was $20 more expensive) or go to the Sterling branch to pick it up. When i asked for a refund he said that can only be done in the store. I usually had good service when i went to that branch, but this is ridiculous. Unless its in the store and you see it with your own eyes, I would not recommend going there.

Thanks Steve! Truck sounded louder than usual. Steve came out to look, told me my catalytic converter had been stolen. Talked options with me, referred me to Meineke in Sterling. All around great experience for a lousy happening.
