I m very impressed and happy with service we received at Rittenhouse! Chris and Robin are very friendly and explained everything we needed. The work was done very quickly. They were also much cheaper overall than what dealer quoted us for.

I am really disappointed in my most recent experience with Rittenhouse Auto Service. I took my truck in with an engine oil leak, The problem was misdiagnosed, and yet they asked me to pay half of the unnecessary repair that was done and I still have an oil leak. Now I am told that the real problem is leaking head gaskets and that my total bill for repairs will be around $6000 on a 2001 truck with 191,000 miles on it(no, I am not having them do the additional repairs). Be careful everyone.

They came highly recommended by our current mechanic [also an excellent local business] for our transmission issues, since it was out of their scope. Rittenhouse Auto Service is professional, courteous and responsive. Chris and the techs are really looking out for the needs of the customer [versus billing as much as they can into a ticket] and their approach to providing service should be the gold standard in the auto repair industry.

As someone who pays attention to detail and is always looking for a reliable company to do business with, Rittenhouse has checked all the boxes. I spoke with Chris Stroop about my needs and concerns. He quickly and professionally pointed me in the right direction explaining the options, pros/cons of each tire selection and what his experience was with certain tires. Additionally, he was able to explain the rating needs of the tires I selected because of my vehicle. Other shops were actually telling me to purchase an under rated tire for my truck. On top of his professionalism and knowledge, he also was the most competitively priced. I have already started pointing people in the direction of Rittenhouse and will continue to return for our families vehicle needs in the future.Service: Tires

#1Trans was rebuild they noticed input shaft was bent, pretty much didn't wanna fix it. But in there defense the trans is still working at the current moment (rebuild was fine)#2 went in for exhaust leak fix it was bubble gum welded in several places, and the issue wasn't fixed, I stated if we needed to replace headers let me know ill provide them. Ended having to replace them anyways. Reached out fb,phone call, no one wanted to talk about the situation .3# fix was to put me on the do not serve list, don't answer call list, so just ignore list. Pretty professional id say.Figure I'd finally share my 2 experiences since I was reminded by Google photos.Maybe things have changed over the years but my experiences weren't great, the owner seemed really respectful the two times we talked.Services: Transmission, Auto exhaust system repair

These people know customer service and what it means to go the extra mile. I trust them to determine the best solution for an issue and I never hesitate that their prices are fair for the quality they offer. They are flexible with my schedule and always so nice to talk to! They will assist beyond what's necessary and that speaks volumes!! Thank you guys for your car service but mainly, your kindness!

I recently moved here from an extended stay in Hawaii. The mechanics there are many, but having to deal with difficult people day after day, few gave the courtesy and response to my questions as I had hoped. Not to mention labor costs in excess of $120hrly. Having to find a new mechanic is almost as much fun as finding a new dentist. Who to trust, whats their reputation how long have they been in business etc. Fortunately for me it was my 1st stop. Conveniently located only 2 miles away in a quiet location I found RITTENHOUSE AUTO SERVICE. I normally call for an appointment, but there is always that unplanned event to requires me to impose myself on their good nature and it's business as usual "sure no problem" when can you bring it in? They provide a nice waiting area, vending machines and it's safe to take a walk if one prefers. They keep detailed records of my cars, send pleasant reminders via e-mail pertaining to my cars check-ups. The staff & maintenance crew are very professional and provided me with sincere feedback upon request. The facility looks as if it's set up for a wide range of repairs and includes front end alignment & operated by well seasoned mechanics. It just doesn't get any better.

The staff at Rittenhouse has been great! They have been doing an awesome job of taking care of our oil changes and inspections for a few years now. I have two littles that come with me and wait while they work on my vehicle and the staff is always so kind to them. They have coloring books and Netflix for them, plus coffee!

Professional, courteous, dependable, honest, skilled!This is my sixth or seventh service with them. Invariably, they make it clear that they are committed to providing outstanding service at a reasonable cost while maintaining the best customer relations. For this service, they procured Michelin tires for my wife's car (matching or beating online prices) and made sure the car was ready at an agreed time.If you deal with them, don't miss seeing where they started out: a small windowless utility building across the street. It's obvious Rittenhouse has been quite successful, which can be best attributed to their committment to quality, integrity, fairness and professionalism.

We had a tow bar installed on our Kia. Once install was complete a major vibration developed over the rear passenger tire. This is the same area as the muffler. I attempted to install a new absorber, but the old on would not come off. I sought assistance from Rittenhouse. I had the new part that they could simply replace the absorber, however, that wasn't the issue. The tow bar had a metal appendage that was vibrating on the muffler. Rittenhouse took the tow bar down and shaved the area down. In thirty minutes the repair was diagnosed, tow bar taken down, shaved and reinstalled. Problem solved! Great customer service and experienced repair technicians. Rittenhouse should be at the top of your list for auto needs.

My first experience with Rittenhouse was great. My 1994 Voyager was suffering from an electrical issue that was leaving me (and another auto repair shop) frustrated. Alex at Rittenhouse found the issue, and got my beloved van back on the road. I will definitely be back!

Had to get my inspection done Monday morning. Called a few places in Harrisonburg and the closest appointment was available in two days . Then I called rittenhouse auto service and they accepted me right away . Got there at 10:30 and was done by 11. Great people . Highly reccomend.

Towed an E350 Work van in at 1:30 pm with a Blown Out spark plug. Talked with Michael and said that I needed it back as soon as possible. At 4:45 I got a phone call from Michael that the Van had been fixed with an insert,a new coil, and a new spark plug. Thanks for the Fast Turn Around Time!!!!!! Fast and Great Service!!

Took my personal and work vehicles here, had OK experiences...oil changes, inspections, that kinda stuff...but my *last* experience was awful. Asked them to check out why my SOTF (shift on the fly) function of my 4 wheel drive wasn't working. The truck would lock into 4wd, but not on the fly. While diagnosing the problem, they broke my brand new 4 wheel drive transfer case motor - and got the truck stuck in 4 wheel low. So, my two options were to pay for a new motor (that they broke) or not have 4 wheel drive. $500 later, I had a new 4 wheel drive motor, and was charged a core charge for not giving them the "old" motor - and still had the same problem with my SOTF functionality. To add salt to the wound, I asked RICK to give me back my old motor, so I could return it for a refund (they claimed the motor was bad, which is crap, it worked fine when I brought it in there) They "lost" the old motor so I couldn't get a refund for the part...so it turned into a negotiation through which I had to provide the invoice for the "old" motor. Got the invoice, took it to Rick, and while I was there he was trying to justify to my wife why he shouldn't have to refund my money for the part he lost...Icing on the cake was the price they gave me to replace pads and rotors on my truck (f250) - $1,700 bucks!!!!! WTF????From the other reviews, it sounds like Jon is the guy to talk to...Rick isn't on my Christmas card list this year...

My motorcycle had a flat tire a long ways from anywhere in Franklin WV. The owher of Rittenhouse Auto, Jon, agreed to tow the bike to the nearest Harley Dealership in Staunton VA, a long ways to come get the bike, and a long ways to deliver it. He showed up exactly when he said he would, was extremely professional and courteous and had fair prices. I highly recommend Rittenhouse Auto.
