As a car guy and a parent that is 6 hours away from his son, it is wonderful to know there are not good, but AMAZING people in Harrisonburg to take care of his car when something goes wrong. Honest, friendly and very skilled at what they do. It was so nice to speak directly with the owner to pay her compliments. Really good people.

Colleen and her mechanics were wonderful, hospitable, and down right good people. They helped me in a pinch today with my tires and eased the stress of a very overwhelming situation. I highly recommend this family business to those who need car work as they live up to the Mom and Pop familial feel!

Was initially looking for a shop with a touch-less tire machine due to the powder coat on my wheels being a bit fragile. After talking with the manager he assured me that they would be able to dismount, mount, and balance the wheels without any issues (I previously had tried to get the wheels mounted with tires and had to get the recoated 5 times due to negligence on the person doing it and bad adhesion with the powder coat). Upon arrival at my 12:00 appointment time I was greeted and pretty much immediately put on the lift. Every employee that works there is super nice and outgoing. Ensuring that I had a good experience and that everything was done correctly was clearly something they strive for. A great family owned business that has interest in cars/trucks + the people the come in there. Will be going back when needed and 100% recommend! (Was even compelled enough to write my first review ever)

Traveling from out of town and had issues with the underside splash guard. People were great, friendly, and the waiting room was perfect for my little one while waiting. Can't say enough how their help eased the pain of a trip gone bad.

Don t go here. They will rip you off. Tried to charge me $60 to replace a bulb in my car. $50 for labor & $10 for the bulbs. Of which I said, I can go buy @ Auto Zone, you guys can replace. But I was confused as to why it was so much money and told the guy you re ripping me off, he told me I was no longer allowed back AFTER I paid him for the $20 inspection. WOW. RUDE. Now I have to go somewhere else for $20.I will never come back and will continue to give out horrible reviews. I hope that $20 that you put in your pocket goes a long way!

I finally found a place where I can take my vehicles to get fixed without being overcharged. And the work they do is very professional, and they finish things in a timely matter, which is very important to me. Mrs. Colleen is so sweet and helpful, and her team of mechanics are very professional. Go see them if you want your vehicles up and running correctly without being overcharged. They will get you right in a timely matter trust me...

Extremely helpful! Even came out to help me change a flat tire and then gave me a great price on two used tires and installed them for me! Highly recommend giving them business, very nice and wholesome employees there.

Had a bit of an emergency sitch: Punctured my tire, ran over a screw and it went down-to-the-rim-flat *quickly*.Put spare on, took the tire over to them first thing Monday morning. While unfortunately the tire couldn t be saved, they gave me honest advice, got me in and out, replaced both of my back tires (huge note: whilst keeping me within my budget!!) and had me back on the road safely in *less than 24 hours*. Great experience!Ha: Big, sarcastic, Thank you to some neighbors building/renovating but not keeping a clean job site.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

They fit me in the same day I called and everyone was so kind! They were up front with prices and super reasonable! I would recommend to anyone who doesn t know much about cars and doesn t want to be scammed :)

A couple of hours into a long road trip from Vienna VA to Louisville KY, we discovered our tire was punctured and would not be drivable if we didn t get a new tire asap. We stopped at a gas station to get air in the damaged tire and Ray Carr was recommended to us. We called them and at first they said they were swamped, but once we explained our dilemma, they made room for us right away! We have an all wheel drive which could have meant all four tires would need to be replaced, but they examined the tires and determined we only needed to replace the busted tire, saving us hundreds of dollars. They even offered their expert advice free of charge that we get an alignment soon. Highly recommend this excellent establishment, and thank you so much Colleen, Eddie and Junior!!Service: Auto tire replacement

I just spent over $320 for a state inspection and the replacement of two $10 lightbulbs. No estimate or price up front. Informed of total at pick up. Will not be returning.

Absolutely love this family business! I was recommended to then by one of my former co-workers, and I was so lucky to receive this suggestion. They are so fantastic. I go to them regularly for oil changes and I just had some mechanical work done after a minor accident.First of all, the work these people do is quality. Also, their customer service is top-notch.The woman who works at the front desk is so sweet and friendly to talk to. She remembers you as an individual and not just as another customer in a line of customers. All the mechanics treat you with respect, give reasonable time estimates and their price points are completely fair: no surprises. They never rush you through talking about your car and any problems you might be having. This is so nice, especially being a young woman (21 years old) who often feels spoken down to at other car maintenance establishments, especially at my dealership's mechanic. I have no mechanical/car knowledge, but they respect me nonetheless and make me feel like a valued customer at every single meeting. Thank you for your wonderful service Ray Carr!

Hands down best mechanic in Harrisonburg. Been going for years with different cars. They are old school, but well organized and very knowledgeable. Fair prices, fast diagnoses, quality work, and friendliest staff I've had the pleasure of being serviced by. I had a dead battery.... beyond a charge. They came to the house, changed it, took the old battery away. and came in just a few minutes. Enough trust that they said just come by the shop and pay.Very reasonable charge for service call. They're always very nice and try to get you the best deal. They helped with a good rebate in the last tires I got. I'm a fan.

While I have been using Ray Carr Tires for mainly inspections for the past couple of years, I have had a few things worked on as well. I don't have much to complain about concerning my past experiences, but I have decided to never bring my cars there again because they were untruthful about charges for work that was performed. I brought my car in for inspection and a brake bleed, as I had just done the brakes at home. I didn't have anyone to help me pump bleed the brakes, and I prefer to have older cars bled with pressure/vacuum instead of pumping the master cylinder. I asked them to take care of this and they agreed. When I got the bill they charged me around twice as much as I expected. When asked why the extra charge, I was told by the guy behind the counter that the technician had some issues with the "old" rear brakes. Something about a jammed bleed valve and the fact that it needed more flushing time. I told him that I had just rebuilt the calipers with new pistons, seals, lines and bleed valves, and had fresh fluid at the caliper. I only needed to ensure there was no air in the lines. He seemed surprised and asked the technician, who had just walked into the office, for more details. The technician wouldn't make eye contact and only responded with a "Hmph...". No explanation at all. While this was not a really big-ticket item, this practice is absolutely unacceptable and people should know that getting overcharged with lame excuses is a possibility at Ray Carr Tires.

I've been going here so long that I'm not sure if my connection to them is predicated by the owner having gone to school with my husband or the shop's convenience to our (then) residence in the city, but having said that: this is a family-owned car service center that will treat you fairly and take very good care of you and your vehicle. My only quibble is that they don't have weekend hours, but I appreciate their taking good care of their staff by giving them decent time off.

This family and staff has always been friendly. They also always provided a great contrast in tires when I wasn't sure of the type or brand I should go for.Overall, this is a great shop to go to. I haven't left disappointed with them and they've provided a good service for me.Definitely recommend.

Excellent service! I have been a few times to this establishment and I am always impressed. They have repaired a broken driver side door that I thought I irreparable. This was done quickly and intelligently and price was very reasonable. At least give them a visit - you may be pleasantly surprised, I know I was.

Very friendly and professional staff! They worked me in with very little wait time. They replaced all four of my tires for several hundred dollars less than the quoted price of another shop. I plan to be a repeat customer! Thanks for the great service!

Excellent service, good prices, and very fast. I have gone to several different mechanics over the years in Harrisonburg, and I am blown away by this shop. I have an older vehicle that needs pretty frequent maintenance and they have done lots of small replacements and even a new clutch.

Was so pleased with the service at Ray Carr Tires. I tried them out because they were within quick walking distance of my downtown Harrisonburg office - quickly realized they are a great little shop!! They squeezed me in on my lunch break (as a walk-in) and finished in an hour with the inspection; had availability the next day for repairs ( much more than just tires!!) and diagnosed a problem other shops had "fixed" several times in the last few years. Ray Carr Tires did it right and I noticed the difference right away! Loved the positive vibe from EVERYONE at the office - they love what they do and the employees are well taken care of. So glad I happened to stop in here - I'll be returning.

This shop is family owned and operated! Everyone here is friendly and caring. Every visit I've had has been postive and leaves me feeling comfortable and confident about the jobs I'm having done to my vehicle. I will continue taking my vehicle to this shop knowing they provide honest advice and work at competitive rates!

I have used Ray Carr over the last couple years for everything from a quick plug for a nail hole to all new tires. They have always gone above and beyond on service. They are quick, very honest and do quality work all for a very fair price. They are now my go to place and I'd highly recommend them for any tire needs.

They fixed my car up perfectly and the mechanics here are so helpful and very transparent about the issues with your car. Best quality service for sure, i went in for a tire change and left with reassurance that my car will work perfectly. They work very quick too

On a fully booked day, they managed to squeeze in a quick tire repair instead of sending me elsewhere-like most would do. 20 minutes repair and mount and I was on the way again.The service person even offered me fresh garden vegetables!Thanks for the friendly service and quick repair

This is the last car repair and tire shop in downtown Harrisonburg. It is a well run small family business that I have used for several years. Nice people, quick service, all within walking distance from Court Square.

I was traveling on vacation and had a tire failure.Harrisonburg was the closest major area near the incident. I called around to find outrageous prices and no stock. Then I talked to Eddie at Carr tire. He had the matching tire, could squeeze me in AND DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE of an out of Towner! I highly recommend this shop.Service: Tires
