Yes I locked my keys in my car the other day at a place where well I really need to get the keys out. I look up locksmiths on Google and I've used lemons to him before I call him up and the pleasant young woman set the person over to my place right away and Pop Goes the Weasel professionally carefully I got the keys in my hand and I'm on my way!! I wouldn't take a chance with another tow company, these guys are the real deal.

My car was towed by Layman s because that was the company AAA sent. It was supposed to be towed 2.6 miles (9 minutes) from the pick up. I left from the pick up after my car had been towed, and when I arrived to the auto shop my car was no where to be seen. I waited assuming the driver was in traffic or something else, but 20 minutes and nothing. Contacted AAA to find my car, and they said it had been dropped off but would try to get in touch with the driver because it hadn t. The driver didn t answer so I personally called Layman s and they said they would try to contact the driver to find out what was going on and give me a call back, but they never did. After about an hour and then some of sitting in the auto shop, I finally got a call from AAA saying my car would be there in 45 minutes because the driver had the wrong address. 5 minutes later a different woman at AAA calls me saying she has no clue where my car was taken because the driver had the exact same address she did so they have no clue what happened. I will NEVER be using this company again and will strongly advise anyone who needs a tow to find another place. The final excuse was that the driver was new and got lost, so I end up with the short end of the stick (not knowing where my car is for hours and assuming it had been stolen, and now having no transportation because the auto shop closed shortly after it FINALLY arrived) because Layman s hires incapable towers.

We were broke down on I-81 near New Market VA. Brandon rescued us and took our Van to Front Royal GMC. Great guy who made us feel at ease . We learned a lot about Virginia and the towing industry and he learned about Canada where we live. Very impressed with his professionalism and friendly manner. Thanks Brandon ! I called AAA to have my car towed and Layman's Automotive was the selected company. Branden called when he was about 10 minutes from our location and showed up within the given time frame. The car was stuck in park and he went above and beyond to help us override the shifter so that it could be towed. The trial and error process of overriding the controls took about 45 minutes in the heat of the day and he was very patient and helpful the entire time. Quality service and professionalism!

My car got a flat so I called Layman's after reading their most recent reviews. They showed up within the time frame that they gave me and only charged $60 for an in-city tow which is $15 less than the competitor. Matthew was very professional and polite. I could tell that he really took care to make sure he got my car on the truck bed properly. It's hard to get service like this these days. Really, really appreciative. Ask for Matthew if you can!

Great customer service very friendly. But, the praise ends there. They offered to repair my power steering for cheap and promised that they could fix it that night. Naturally I agreed and went to go buy the parts. I arrived at the shop and they were not there. We had to wait for 20 minutes even though we had stopped at an o'Reilly's in the opposite direction before going to the shop.I had done my research and knew that a special tool was needed to remove the power steering pulley so I was suspicious but didnt say anything when he said he could get it off without the tool as using the tool required disassembly of a chunk of the engine where the serpentine belt was.We spent about three hours outside of the shop trying to get this pulley off with no success as he tried to unscrew a bolt that was not attached by threading in the first place. (By the way I pointed this out when we first started). He said he had the tool and my fiancee and I needed to get to bed so he said he could fix it the next day after 5. We get no call the next day.The day after that, my third day without a car, I get a call from Precision Tune (a much better albeit more expensive shop) asking me about the sable that was dropped off. Not only had they dropped off my car without informing me at a more expensive shop, but the mechanic at Precision informed me that they had removed some random bolt that was not even part of the power steering pump/pulley and spilled coolant all over the engine. The fact that they had to fix the screw and clean up the engine brought my repair up to almost 300 dollars and 2-3 days later than I could have had it repaired if I had just brought it to precision in the first place. If you get picked up by them do not accept their offer to fix your car.

100% satisfaction with an out-of-the-ordinary task. Layman's (Brandon specifically) delivered and gave me peace of mind. From Florida, I needed someone to get a 1970 Olds started so it would drive onto a car hauler by noon, headed for Florida. I called at about 9am. Brandon spoke to me and assured me he would do all within his power to get "Laverne" started, or at least dragged out into the middle of the driveway for easier loading onto the hauler. I hung up, convinced that I could count on Brandon to deliver, and he did. Thanks for stepping up! Go Knights!

The guy that came was super friendly, they got to me in no more than 10 minutes (if that). He then unlocked the car in about a minute. So after all that i think it's safe to say that I highly recommend them.5 stars without a doubt.

At 7 AM, I locked myself out of my car when I had to be heading to work. Thankfully, I have roadside assistance, and my insurance company called Layman s to come help me get in my car. The driver was prompt, kind, and very skilled at his job - it only took him a couple of minutes to get in my car without a single complaint or negative thing to say! If anyone ever needs lockout or towing services, check them out!

I contacted Laymans after I saw a recommendation on Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes site while looking for a Porsche service center. I was very pleased with their service!Brian was great with communication & was on time as scheduled. Car was loaded & secured with care as expected. Price was very reasonable and I would not hesitate to use them again!!

I would never use this company ever. I was rear ended in I-85 N mile marker 244. I called AAA and Layman s was sent to be my tow back to Baltimore (3hrs away mind you). The driver was dirty and holes in his shirt. He had his girlfriend and kid in the back of the truck. The inside of the truck was torn apart, dirty, and barley any space for myself and boyfriend and would not allow my dogs to ride in the truck. They had to sit on my hot car. The driver said he needed gas and took us up the road to Route 33 Royal gas station. After filling his truck, he said he got a lock-out call and just dropped my car at the gas station. He then demanded $160 for dropping my car without my permission. We had to called the VA state police to come tell him to screw off because he dropped the car.I ended making a formal complaint with AAA with this company and the VA state police had said this grimy driver did the same thing to a DUI arrest and demanded $160 to them as well.VA police said they are also filing a complaint with their division. So thank you for making my terrible day to being a worse day. It took us 4 hours to get another tow because this company is the lowest of low life sThey deserve 0/5 stars

Terrible service. They were the only towing company open and they left my husband and I stranded on the side of the road because we moved our car 1/4 of a mile from the original dispatch location. The operator told us they can t service outside of Rockingham and Harrisonburg which we understood. We were able to get our vehicle started after calling in initially but only went about 1/4 of a mile. We then called in to let them know our location. We were sitting in front of a retirement community and we weren t sure what the address was. The operator then told us she looked up the retirement community address and we were now outside of their dispatch area and couldn t provide a tow. We looked it up after the call and the address was Rockingham. 3 hours later we were finally able to find another company open and get towed.

Flat tire repair in the cold and pouring rain on Saturday almost 9pm...fast service. Turned out the spare was also flat, and the man who helped took it to Sheetz to inflate it, at no extra charge. Since our new roadside policy didn't respond, we called Layman's directly, and they charged just $50. Very impressed with the service (we live in Richmond).

As a fellow business owner, I would never recommend this company for towing services. The service was completely unprofessional as the driver demanded cash for dropping the car just because he got another call. The driver had his girlfriend and daughter in the truck. The trucks inner panels were taken out and just laid the back so there was no room for passengers.

Terrible! Terrible, terrible, terrible. My car broke down and needed a new alternator. Not only were they incredibly slow at fixing my car, nobody at the shop had any clue what was going on with my car, save for one person. When they would call and leave a message, they would give me no information about my car and it's status. When I got off work and returned the call, they were closed and the person answering the phone had no clue what was going on. The absolute worst customer service ever. If your car breaks down, go anywhere else. NEVER COME HERE!

If I could give less than one star, I would. My son called AAA to have his car towed and Adam was sent. He hooked the car up wrong, ripping out a section of floorboard, the car rolled and hit the front of the tow truck, causing significant damage to the front end. He gave my son his card, wrote on the back his name, number and what happened to the car. He asked my son not to contact his employer because he would lose his job and he would take care of it. Now over a week later, he does not respond. Called the company and they didn't know anything about it (shocker) but would call back. Now he's lying to them that he paid my son for the damage he caused. NEVER use this company. An honest business establishment would admit their mistake and make an attempt to resolve the situation, not try to cover it up and take away a kid's only means of transportation.

Don't let these guys tow your vehicle!!! I had a motorcycle accident less than 1 mile away. While I was being taken to the hospital, these guys were called (by the police I assume) to pick up my bike. The next day I went to pick up my bike from them and they charged $225. They would not even itemize the charges for me. It was easily roll-able as I was able to roll lit up onto my pickup to take home. It probably took them no more than 1/2 hour to retrieve.

Son s starter went out of his BMW around 5pm on Wednesday and AAA submitted the towing request to Layman s. Rick showed up and was amazing! He was extremely kind and very thorough with his assessment of the vehicle and gentle when loading the car on the rollback. He delivered the car to Mid Atlantic for repair without any issues. I highly recommend Rick at Layman s for any of your towing needs. Thank you very much, Rick!!

Was locked out of my vehicle and had been ditched by another company after sitting outside for an hour. Layman showed up 15 minutes later and at a cheaper price. Amazing service. I will be using them again for any tow needs.

They told me it was going to be an hour. And I waited an hour and I called because no one showed up. Then said it was going to be an extra 30 minutes. Now I have to explain to a seven year old that she is going to be late to her own birthday party thank you guys.

They're nice enough people, and seem to know what they're doing, but I've never paid that much in my whole life to have an automobile towed! I had to use all my grocery money that I had put back for the month since I only get groceries once a month because I'm on total disability they cleaned me out where I had my vehicle but I can't eat my vehicle!

Wish I could give negative stars!!! I was involved in an accident and was taken to the hospital. My vehicle was still drivable so I asked them to tow it to the hospital so I would have a ride home. $175 to tow my vehicle no more than 5 miles! She came in to the ER bay I was in and asked for payment before I could get my keys. I don't live in Harrisonburg, but if I did I would stay clear of these people!!

DO NOT USE- this company is very unprofessional and tried to screw over my son. They damaged his car in towing, because Adam did not know what he was doing. They have lied to us about the damage, and are trying to get out of making good on it. We have contacted our Lawyer, and will file complaints with AAA, the State of VA towing board, and the Better Business Bureau in Harrisonburg. The owner of the company used profane language when talking with us on Friday, and told me that the first car she damaged was a Jaguar, and my sons is just a Volkswagon. So apparently they have damaged more than one car. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE------ There should be a negative star to give this people. This company should be shut down immediately.....

Called them on a Friday at 8pm about twenty minutes from Harrisonburg on a freezing January night. I didn't mind getting put on hold for a moment, but when they said they weren't able to go to Verona (a 30 minute drive at most!), I asked Gabriella if there were any other tow truck companies who could help me. She refused to tell me because it was a "conflict of interest." A very strange and callous policy to refuse service to someone and then refuse to help them find another option, especially when they're freezing, stressed out, and on the side of a highway.

I called to see if they were the company that tows from a specific apartment complex and the lady was so rude yelling NO at me that I just hung up. I don t know who spit in her oatmeal this morning but I did not appreciate it. Then later I got a call back from someone different who was really nice so I don t know who I talked to.
