If you car is even slightly lowered, I do not recommend this shop for state inspection. Even within the laws of Virginia State Inspection and you'll have a rough time getting them to pass it. Other than that, very nice people.

Phat auto is nasty shop. They don't have anywhere for to sit. Unless sit on the nasty chair in the office or with the nasty dog on the ground. I would not recommend anyone to this place. They take advantage of women if the come with issue there your vehicle.

I came here on the last hour before they closed to get my car inspected, needless to say they were able to help me and was quick! I highly recommend this place.

State inspector failed me over DOT approved headlights after I verbally told him on the phone that my headlights are DOT approved I just have a halo that s included(Not RGB)! Anyways waste of money and time.

Phat is a hometown gem. Quality repairs at very reasonable prices. He's worth waiting for, as sometimes you need to call and schedule to come in since he has a steady stream of repeat customers coming in! I wouldn't have found this place if not for a recommendation. Their hours are challenging, but their work is great, their prices are very good, and they earned my trust. I've found my new mechanic, and they are it!

Small parking lot that is full most of the time. There is no dedicated person to answer the phone, so you have to keep calling and hoping someone picks up. They do state inspections M-F, but the caveat is that you have to call the day of and see if they have any availability first.

No I do not recommend them. They had my car literally all day and did nothing to it. They didnt even look at it and then started telling me that I needed all kinds of parts to fix things that weren't even wrong with the car. This was after they told me they would be able to look at and fix the problems that I had told them about. They didn't even call me to let me know anything. Dont go there unless you absolutely have too and even then proceed with caution.

I suppose that just saying, "Amazing," wouldn't be enough. I had to have a wheel lug replaced. Drove in on a Saturday morning. The young man said he could do it NOW. How pleased I was. Took next to no time. Had all the correct tools, and the skill to do it. I highly recommend this business.

The first time I took my car to be inspected was 14 years age. Owner very reasonable in price, great service, and honest. Will continue to have service done by this auto shop.

Phat Auto service on West Pembroke Avenue was amazing and no I am not someone who is know these guys, I was recommended and I went and Mr. Nguyen was professional unlike Lee at import king automotive at Powhatan parkway in Hampton ( I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM GOING THERE) they are so freaking rude...I am going to spend my money where it is appreciated , and that is not at import king, I guarantee it.....the woman there yelled at me because I wanted to know if they have time to re-inspect my vehicle. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR BUSINESS THAT DOES NOT APPRECIATE IT.

Poor service. Make you wait hours for something simple. Failed my inspection because one of my headlights was slightly foggy. Said when I bring it back I won't have to wait. Came back the next morning after I fixed the issue. However, I waited two hours just to see the headlight wasn't foggy anymore.

I had my CV axal and barrings replaced, they got the work done fast. It didn't cost a arm an a leg. The guys working were very nice and new exactly what I needed. Thank you... I will be going here again!!!!

Friendly service! The shop could be a lot cleaner, especially the customer waiting area. The chairs need to be replaced (broken, uncomfortable) and the waiting area badly needs to be swept, moped and cleaned.

Got a state inspection and they misdiagnosed the problem. Kept saying that I need new wheel bearings. The problem was a bad ball joint. The inspector left town and I had to wait 4 days to get reinspected. I blame the state of Virginia for forcing us to endure these silly inspections.

I got a inspection brought the car back he put it back on the rack and found more things wrong I never seen a inspector do this I would not advise going to see him anymore or anybody

They make you wait for a long time then when you finally talk to someone. They ll tell you that they will check your vehicle. But if you don t stay with it you won t know when you ll get it back. For example they had my sons car for more then two weeks and still didn t do anything to it went to check on the car he said he can t get to it. Couldn t think to call!!!
