I really wanted to be able to give 5 stars as the customer service from the ladies up front was spot on. I took my car here because the engine light was on and they are repair pal certified. They seemed to locate what we thought was the issue fairly easily, got the part quickly, and I was very pleased. However, before I even left the parking lot the engine light was on. They offered to look at it and kept it all weekend to do more diagnostics, at no additional charge which I greatly appreciated. However, they were not able to find an issue and advised I take it to a dealership. The car was sounding really awful and I did not feel sage driving my son in it, which is why I didn't wait for my dealership appointment. Now I wish I would have as I would have to pay another deductible at tye dealership to get the issue fixed. The car is still missing when being turned on and it is shaking violently when the air conditioner is running. I know they can only do so much, and I appreciate everything they were able to do, but now I'm right back where I started. I should have just waited and gone to the dealership.

I got my car inspected and it was rejected. Instead of asking did I want to get those 3 itemized failures fixed I waited 15 mins while the rejection was entered into the system for a tail light bulb, foggy headlight covers and an outer tie rod. These fixes were simple but instead I had to go get them fixed elsewhere with the rejection sticker. The next morning I went and got it reinforcers after fixing these issues and it passed. I just feel they could have better communication

NEVER WANTED IT DONE FOR FREE!! Was willing to pay even though I took it too you and told you lights were on but was advised to drive it around, issue could have been avoided but when car was stuck on side of road you all told me I had to pay for the tow. Which I thought was wrong because you told me car was fine, I don t like being ripped off and that is exactly what was happening. Sorry you hate the truth in my review UPDATE* I LEFT THIS REVIEW BELOW THIS MESSAGE AND NOW BECAUSE THEY SAW IT THEY WONT FIX CAR EVEN THOUGH THEY MADE IT WORSE DO NOT GO HERE!!Now let me tell you all the entire story lol. Ok so i have been coming here since the grand opening years ago NEVER HAD AN ISSUE and because you couldn t beat the prices. So I went in Friday because my car kept needed a jump, they did a diagnostic and boom it was the alternator. I had already brought an alternator so they just put the one I had on there because THEIR ALTERNATOR WAS 500 DOLLARS. Mind you I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot lol within 24 hours the lights on dash starting popping up. I called them brought it in they told me just drive it around until the lights cut off next day I had to get the car towed because it completely died. They charged me for the tow even though they told me to drive it around then told me it was 1500 dollars to fix and guess what the problem is THE ALTERNATOR lol so this is a long review and I honestly don t know what happened to this place but for people who don t like to get ripped off just go next door they charged 323 for alternator replacement. YOUR WELCOME!!

This was my first experience at Hampton roads car care. Overall the indoor facilities (lobby & bathroom) were nice and tidy. There were two ladies working the front (Julie was awesome ) the place was also nice and air conditioned on a hot summer day. All of which made my wait comfortable.I originally went to this place because it was Saturday and no one had any availability to perform a state inspection. They did! I got in and out in under an hour. Note: they only accept cash for state inspections. However, since I paid for labor and minor work, I was able to pay with card.I went back on the same day for a loose tire (see video) and they took care of me immediately. I believe that the owner was on site and overall, I was satisfied with the business. They are personable, seem to operate under good business practices and have integrity in their workmanship. I will be going back for future visits.

These people don t know what they re doing. I almost lost my life behind their negligence. I could have had an accident. They was supposed to fix my car and I got on the road with my car sounding horrible. They didn t bolt a screw down which could have caused my front tire to come off. DONT GO TO THESE PEOPLE

Do not get service from here. These people are trash. They put a tired rod on my car that was not bolted down. I had to get someone to fix it. I asked them for my money back for getting it fixed and they gave me trouble. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THEM AGAIN. Trash

Towed truck here per AAA recommendation during an unexpected breakdown. Water pump failure and they were able to fix and get me back on the road the same day. Very happy with the efficiency of the repair and the professionalism of the staff.

I walked in and there were four people at the front desk and all of the completely ignored me. I stood the for 5 minutes and no one acknowledged me.I ended up just walking out without even word to anyone. Terrible service and very rude staff. They must be so busy they don t need the money.

Went in for an inspection. Was failed for a right front ball joint. But then they said they "couldn't find one to fit". Replaced entire control arm. Then the new alignment. Much more expensive. Car drove no differently. Was told it wouldnt. (Not true). Parts were highly inflated. Was insulted by 1 person who asked if I'd never taken a car to a shop before, then by another when I said I'd checked around and the part WAS available and the price was $75 and they charged almost $200 - guy said we don't get our parts at Walmart. I also asked if it was new or from a junkyard. Rude. Over $600 to get my car back. Taking it to another shop to ensure the part was actually replaced and to get the alignment checked. Rude. Suspect. If part wasn't actually replaced, going to State Police. Fingers crossed for both our sakes.

I took car in for alignment they told me it need a tie rod. quoted $479 . a part that AutoZone sells for $20. I had the tie rods replaced 4 months ago ? I took to another shop , The were not bad. They charged me $71 for them to look at it , I never agreed to that. would not recommend this shop

Long story short I would never go to this shop again. They lied and wanted to charge for something that was never broken. We declined the service they had said was needed to be done because it didnt make sense.My girlfriends car is now fixed with a simple bushing replacement that we had suggested. They on the other hand wanted to charge over $700 for a cable replacement that didn't need to be replaced. Would give no stars if it was an option for the dishonesty.

I was a first time customer! They were very nice and very knowledgeable! From the front to the mechanic that test drove my car, they all treated me like a highly favorable customer. After the diagnosis , they said I didn t need work that I thought I did. They did not rip me off like other businesses have done in the past! They have great ratings in general as well as BBB. So pleased to be a valued customer ! I have made them my choice to take great care of my car and their honesty has truly won me over! I highly recommend them for all car needs and repairs!!!! I cannot say enough good things about Hampton Roads Car Care Center. I've taken my red Fiat 500 Abarth there four or five times always satisfied. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone.Kind regards,Bairre'

Extremely kind, extremely knowledgeable. The brakes on my Chrysler 200 went out right before a long drive back from the business trip I was on! Nearby Chrysler Jeep dealership wanted to charge me to just look at it. These guys by contrast were able to fix it the very next morning, and didn't judge the fact that it was crammed full of luggage and shop supplies. Nobody likes to pay for car repairs, but they were very plain about what happened and what they fixed, making me very confident in paying the bill. If I had to break down, I'm very glad it was near their shop!

Be very careful using this place triple check any prices they give you and make sure they don't sneak in more fees. I brought my car in because it wouldn't start and had to pay a towing fee. Fine cool. The towing guy said 75 pay when you pay your bill. Cool fine. 7 hours later after having to call them first and waiting longer (after 5 pm too so most places were closed or closing) they vaguely said "it electrical we can't touch it you have to bring it somewhere else" when I came back to pay they tried charging me 35 extra dollars and my key was bet when they gave it back to me. Absolutely terrible way to run a business. Never returning ever.

Although I was not the happiest about the price of my repairs I was beyond pleased with the staff. They were so kind an patient with myself and my kids and gave a very informative estimate review. I definitely would choose this locations. Shoutout to the two young ladies at the desk that were patient with my child who has autism and did everything to try an make our wait comfortable! Brought my suv here for a alignment which cost almost 300 dollars. They said they did the alignment and everything was good. Drove it home and notice it still rode the same. Brought it back under the 12000 warranty like a couple of days later cuz of my schedule and holidays. I told the lady that it still the suv still goes right when am driving and the alignment need to be redone. Hours later she call me and say you need motor mounts and can not do the alignment. So I told her why didn't no one say that when I first got the alignment. She said maybe you didn't need them then and I said wrong because it drives the same way as it was on the first day I brought it here. So instead of redoing my alignment she said there nothing they can do. So the stole 300 dollars from for not doing their job or lying to me about certain parts that I needed then doing thr job. Do not go to the place. If I could I would give it 0 stars

A big Thank You to Hampton Roads Car Care. I took my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan to two local Dodge Dealers for electrical issues and all they did was keep my car for several days at a time, charge me hundreds of dollars, and keep throwing new parts at the problem and never fixing what I actually went in there for. On my final attempt to see the dealer to get this fixed once and for all, they wanted 2 weeks to hold my car before they could even look at it for diagnosis because they were so backed up. No Freakin' Way!! Thank Goodness I found Hampton Roads Car Care. I dropped it off the night before and by 9AM the next day they had identified and fixed the problem where two Dodge dealers had continuously failed. It was also a very affordable fix and I extremely happy. Highly recommend these guys and will definitely use them again!!Services: Electrical repair, Electrical

I review my experiences as objectively as possible. So whether or not I have a good experience, I still make remarks on things no matter what. In other words, this is as real of a review as you can get if you're skeptical of others.I've contacted many entities for the work I needed done on my 2015 VW Jetta SE. I had a tall order and couldn't get honest answers from either the dealership or anyone else who specializes in the work I needed. Out of a whim and frustration I gave HRCC a call. I called on a Friday and was set up for a Monday morning delivery (Memorial Day).I requested new brakes, new rotors, coolant flush, brake flush, spark plug, alignment and balancing. For starters, the price was very reasonable; around ($1600 after military discount, if you are military).Staff experience is phenomenal and keeps you posted on anything whenever you request it. They appear (and proved) that they are very organized and offer many services you wouldn't expect. Staff fights rather hard for you to save you a buck when dealing with outside part sources that otherwise would cost you a fortune. I say that because most of the time auto shops need to acquire parts from other sources (i.e. dealerships, part stores, etc) and not all the time will the outside source be honest with your part and/or price so they do their research to make sure you don't get "got" by the sharks.In terms of time, I was quoted roughly 6 hours for all work but I was ready to go at around the 5 hour mark. They were understaffed at the time and still made the timeline meet. I am a maritime mechanic with vehicle experience as well so I don't have the free time to work on my own car, I'd rather just outsource it. So when they got done, I did a quality assurance check on the work as I know the procedures they need to perform to the work before I even take it in.I was impressed, my engine bay was cleaner than what I gave it to them, work was ACTUALLY performed and my car ran phenomenal after it and almost like new at almost 100,000 miles (and I bought it new too).I will be returning to them for sure and to be honest, I probably will only go to them from here on out. To be understaffed and still perform that quality of work tells me that for ONCE IN MY LIFE I made a good call on selecting an automotive shop to service my needs. I intend to return for additional preventative maintenance work on my transmission and fuel system within the next week. Stand by for that review if you are really that skeptical.Full on 5 stars not even a joke.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Wheel alignment, Brakes

Prior to bringing my vehicle in, I called to find out how much it would cost for a diagnostic and the length of time a diagnostic would take. I was told that a diagnostic takes about an hour and that the cost would depend on the problem, but would cost no more than $132. So, I took my vehicle in the same day. The diagnostic was not a check engine light diagnostic because the check engine light was not on. I was hearing some type of unusual noise and was hoping to find out the problem. Some time after arriving, the technician got in my vehicle and drove it down the street and back. I ended up being at the shop for over 2 hours. On top of that, one of the office staff comes to me afterwards and says that the technician recommends starter be removed for further diagnostic and that would cost an additional $260. Are you kidding me. So, needless to say, I ended up paying $142 and got NO ANSWERS AT ALL. I wasted $142.08 to be exact. Yes, I paid an additional $10 and was told that was for taxes, but my receipt reads job supplies. Taxes @ 6% should have been $7.94 but receipt shows $.56. This is the worst service I have ever experienced. The deception, poor results, and waste of time and money was highway robbery. This type of service is the reason why I do not trust auto shops. They will squeeze every bit of money out of you they can. I had never gone to this place before and have NO intentions of returning. Do I recommend this place, ABSOLUTELY NOT. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

I needed to get my tire patched and they informed me that I needed a new tire. Not a big deal but they didn't have my tire in stock while costo did. They put the donut on and stated "we'll just swap the tire and the donut" and I headed to costco. When I went there they informed me my old tire and wheel were no where to be found. I tried calling the shop and they already closed and will be for another day. I can't get ahold of anyone after hours to get my property back and have to drive with a donut because of their incompetence.

I love this place! From the first day I took my Chevrolet there it has always been a welcoming environment. But most importantly the great work the do on my vehicle at an affordable price. No other shops will ever work on my vehicle. Juan and his team are the best!

One of my good friends actually recommended this place to me after going to the same shop for years. The staff was super friendly. My boyfriend and I communicated with Won and Andrew, and they were just awesome! They also got my car done in a timely manner. I definitely will be back and will recommend them to many of my friends! I was looking online for a place near me that would take appointments for a wheel alignment. When I set up the appointment request it was late and I was looking to get it done in 2 weeks when I am off. They called me back on Sunday morning, I was unaware they would be open on Sunday and told me they could get me in immediately and I took them up on it. Won and his crew are professional and friendly and I was very impressed with their service. Highly recommended and I will use their shop again!
