The best place to take your car. They are decent and have affordable prices. The staff in the office will greet you with a smile and they will get you on your way to a well fixed vehicle. Guaranteed. I am a satisfied customer. Thank You Carter's Corner.

My son sent me to Carters Corner because I was having issues with my brakes while he was out of state and couldn t fix them. He said they were trustworthy and great people. (High praise coming from him! And he s right.) They checked everything out, showed me exactly what was damaged, explained why, and fixed everything for me. I highly recommend Carters Corner in Hpt. Va. on the corner of East Pembroke & Seaboard Ave. I might sound like a commercial, but, they got me safely back on the road & didn t brake the bank to do it!! Stress free!! Needed an inspection sticker ASAP. They were awesome to accommodate and finish my inspection in a quick manner. I will continue to have them do my inspection stickers. Most places want you to drop off your car, but unfortunately I was not able to do that due to my work schedule. They have the best service all around.

I had a great experience here & highly recommend this place! I brought my car in to replace the radiator/condenser fans, and I also had them double check the work of a different mechanic that I had issues with. Everyone was very kind, especially Nicole at the front desk, and they got the work done in a timely manner.

Not only is the owner and receptionist friendly and professional but they go above and beyond for their customers. Also their team of mechanics are very professional and do outstanding work. Definitely if you need work done or just an inspection done Carter's Corner is the place to go hands down! They are reliable, proficient and extremely fairly priced.

Said my breaks needed to be completely replaced in order to get my car inspected, when all they needed were break pads. Then told me they didn't just do break pads. I'm pretty sure breaks don't completely wear out every time and need to always be completely replaced. Pretty sure they got me a couple of times before that. I won't be going back there again. I wouldn't suggest anyone else does either.

I've had them work on my 1999 ram 2500 for a year now. They have done everything from HVAC or heating and air, replace my dash, battery cables, and brakes. They will do what you ask and build trust with the customer. I highly recommend them. I am a professional mechanic, and I send my vechicles to them to get the job done right the first time at fair rates.

They checked my vehicle out but gave me a 50% resolution with an $800 price that I wasn't comfortable with. Got a second opinion and received a 100% resolution for $400. I'm not saying they are bad...I just didn't like the answer.

Excellent customer service. The best service I have had in a long time for car service. They really take care of all their customers. Everyone is special treat with respect very pleasant no stress. I love going there. Wish I had known about them sooner but it is ok now. The best is always last. I thank God for them and their service. I recommend them to everyone.

Nothing but positive experiences with this shop! I don t know much about cars, but they were very gracious to help me understand the problems my car car was having. I had a lot of questions, and they didn t try to take advantage of me when I let my ignorance show. My girlfriend has also been here several times for service, and as a woman walking into an auto shop, she was very grateful that they showed her the same respect. They clearly have earned a customer base, as they seem to stay busy. However, they diagnosed my car quickly, and gave accurate projections for how long it would take.

Robin (the owner/mechanic) was very honest and very very fair. I had a simple issue as in my last mechanic installed my fuel pump wrong, so the bubble was sitting on the side of the tank and not flowing with the the amount of gas in the tank, and Robin and his team didn't over charge me for a simple fix. They also checked everything else to make sure it wasn't injectors or spark plugs. Nope, just a bad install.It was worth every penny and I'll definitely be coming here again!Thank you!

I was prepared to write a scathing review I dropped my truck off on Thursday morning for a job I deemed to difficult for me to do myself, and was told I should have it by Friday. Needless to say when I stopped by on Friday to grab somethings out of it and it had yet to make it onto the lift I was worried but reassured I would have that evening. The call came and I was told they had run into some issues and that I would not be able to pick my truck up. I was livid....Fast forward to Monday afternoon when I picked it up. The mechanic showed me the pieces that he came in on the weekend to wrestle. He broke a tool, had to torch grind and god knows what else to get them off the axle. The Receptionist (cant think of the correct job title) offered to not charge me for the parts that caused me to wait till Monday as a way of making up for being without a vehicle, of which they offered me a loaner, over the weekend.It wasn't their fault that the job turned out to more difficult then they expected, they made offers to make up for it anyways. The mechanic came in on a day off to get it done. The shop went the extra mile. Its been a couple months since the work was done, the issue is resolved, and I am happy with the services provided.Service: General repairs & maintenance

This place has been very good to me for many years. I went for an inspection. I have no complaints about my mechanical work.However the gutter snip receptionist is my issue. Like I said I have done business for many years for more than one vehicle. This person has poor communication skills my last few visits. This time she sweared at me over her lack of communication skills when I called her out on it and showed my phone to the owner. She approached me outside like she was ready to fight. This is unexceptable.I have great respect for the owner but needless to say, this is not the type of continuous disrespect I can ignore as a paying customer. Again the owner and mechanicals we wonderful to me. Never again.Service: General repairs & maintenance

If your looking to be screwed over this is the place for you! Had inspection done and was told exhaust manifold was cracked! Not onlt that, they said it would be $1400 to fix.... $1000 for the part and $400 for the labor. (If manifold was cracked it was only $52 new ....NOT $1000!!!!!!) turns out it was ONLY the gasket! Dont let this scum bag scam you!!!!! Get a second opinion! Reporting him to state police over his so called inspection scams!

.I give them 5 thumbs up. They have treated me right every time I have been there. I have taken 3 different vehicles there with problems from a bad starter to an exploded wheel bearing. Each time I came in late in the day, and each time the vehicle is ready to pickup the next day. Their work is good, their prices are good, and the quality of the parts they use is good. If you are looking for a auto mechanic shop that has all of this and is honest, Carter's Corner is for you.

Great local shop. Quality work and a fair price. I only take my vehicles here. Robin (owner) is an amazing guy who has always been honest and never tried to over charge me or tell me I need unnecessary work done.

They are to busy and make promises that they change all the time, it took me almost a month to get my van back when it was supposed to be a couple of days it was always tomorrow when I called to see when I could pick up my van. They did good work at a reasonable price, but unless you can live without your vehicle for a long while I'd go somewhere else.

Can't speak for the work they do, as I've only gone there to get my vehicle inspected, but I will say that this is the only place I'll go for an inspection for as long as I'm in VA. I bought my vehicle in Maryland and it failed the initial inspection once I got it back to Virginia. The first place I went wanted to charge me almost $3k for repairs that only cost me $400 to fix on my own. The inspection was quick, the staff was polite, the owner brought up a discrepancy that was taken care of on the spot rather than failing me for it, and the shop had a real "mom & pop" vibe which made waiting a bit more comfortable.

Great service and an incredible price only $80 for one hour of Labor. This place beats other car shops by at least $40. Robin doesn't cheat you on prices either. He finds the cheapest parts available. I always come here even though I live in Norfolk now!

I'm visiting a friend in Hampton and the corner of my bumper separated from my car and I went to Carter's Corner, and an older gentleman who i assume was the owner and Mr. Carter, told me that he didnt do that kind of work and that i needed to go to a body shop, but as soon as he said that, he had left his comfortable chair in the office and came out into the hot morning sun and grabbed a screw driver and got on the ground and started pushing the bumper in and was physically fixing the car himself. That was very nice of him to take the time to give me a quick fix so i could get my car back on the road. A very nice man !!

Good honest people. I went in for an inspection. They knew I was going to be fixing the vehicle myself so told me where the obvious place to start in troubleshooting my parking brake was. My dad recommended this place to me and I was just as happy with them as he was. I already have a contract with another company for for brakes and tires, but otherwise won't be taking my vehicle anywhere else.

Been bringing our cars here for years. Robin is always pleasant and quick with a joke. The car is usually fixed by the end of the day or early the next. The prices are pretty good also.
