This is the end of our first year here and we couldn't be more pleased. We recently had tropical storm Ophelia come through and we were concerned about our camper flooding. Living 1.5 hours away means it isnt always easy getting here. The new manager and current staff were amazing and very responsive when asking for help and looking out for us and other campers.Aside from that, I can't say enough about John and Craig who work maintenance. They work hard, rain or shine, sick or healthy, and go above and beyond anyone's expectations to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. Kim, who works in the office is such a pleasure to talk to. She's always ready to greet campers and help them out, especially if you want info about Gwynn's Island.The campground is clean, the bath house is clean and the lady who cleans is always pleasant and smiling.I'm so glad to be a part of this community and look forward to another summer. Thank you for all you do!

This was our second trip here this year and absolutely loved our waterfront site, D01. We stayed first week of May and week of September 11th. Beautiful views and staff very friendly. Women's bath house was out of commission but allotted hours for use of men's side. We wanted to make this a yearly trip but sad to hear they may not be open to transients and going private as of next. Very disappointing as this was one of our favorite spots this year and were looking forward to coming back next year.

Love this place! The staff is wonderful, the campers are wonderful, and the resort is absolutely beautiful!Kudos to John, who has gone above and beyond on several occasions for us, when we have needed help or have been in a bind! Mike who runs the show, is so kind and helpful, and can be seen everywhere throughout the resort and always there when needed!

Simple and gorgeous!If you plan to stay for few days, prepare for no shadows at all, wide open.No phone service, I have Verizon. Highly recomend to buy WiFi, $10 for 3 days up to 4 devices at the time. It's reasonable and it works.No close convenient stores, have enough drinking water and necessities with you.There is an electricity on sites, but only those round RV outlets, no regular ones. Make sure you have right adapter.Huge stones along the shores, hard to get to the water without risk to brake legs, but there a small beach in walking distance.Love the place!

My finances family has been coming here for around 30 years my first time was three years ago and have came back every year! The staff are super nice and respectful Kim is amazing if there's ever a problem she takes care of it right away. My favorite part is the peace and relaxation it's great to take a step away from a busy life.

We ended up at Gwynn s Island after a storm took out power at New Point (both are managed by they same people). Thanks to them, the transfer to a different campground was seamless. All of the staff are so kind and helpful. The resort is well maintained and very peaceful. The playground is in great condition and is situated near a beautiful view to enjoy while children play. They were having a mermaid/pirate party this weekend and our kids enjoyed facepainting, balloon animals and a magic show (all included in our stay!). Awesome fishing pier and beach! Definitely a place for all ages to enjoy. Thanks for a great weekend.

We stayed at A37. That was a nice spot, across from fishing pier. There are way more permanent sites than rentable ones. The sites are wicked close. Bath house was clean. Lots of golf cart traffic. Store was small and had very limited supplies. Nice pier with lights for fishing at night. Would prob go back if we got same spot.

To be brief, Sun Outdoors represents much of what is wrong with some corporations. I have seen other reviews critical of Sun and I now have firsthand experience. If you think of what happened to Sears, K-Mart, Circuit City, etc., I think you'll understand the "quality" that Sun Outdoors brings to campgrounds that they acquire and "manage". I recommend avoiding them when possible.With regard to the owner's response to this review, I offered a way for them to make things right that would actually profit the owner. They chose instead to merely rebutt my review. Choosing failure over customer service. Short-term over long-term. A real Southfield, MI kind of "management". Hello K-Mart.

Have been going here for over 10 years and can't wait for 10 more. Family oriented and not comercialized. Remember when you could ride your bike all day, play games with your friends and not see your parents for hours because you were having too much fun? That's Gwynns Island RV! Mikkel and Michelle are awesome managers who work hard to make it an enjoyable weekend and fun place to stay.

Stayed 2 nights in our 35' travel trailer. Lots are not very big and it took some work to get in and out. Most lots are permanent sites. Most residents were friendly. Beach small but nice. Part of the beach is private but there aren't any signs to identify the border. My kids got fussed at by someone for being on 'their' beach. Our 30A shore power outlet was upside down, which made it difficult to plug in. Someone hammering away followed by Skilsaw sounds woke us at 7am. Dump station not conveniently located. Had to hit the dump station on the way out and there were vehicles parked close to it. I asked about the dump station when we checked in and was told if there were cars in the way they would be cleared out for checkout. When checking out there were golf carts and cars partially blocking the dump station so I went into the office to inquire and the golf carts were promptly moved, but they didn't know who the vehicles belonged to. Had to work around the vehicles which was difficult. Only dumpsters are located at the end of a road within the campground. Not convenient if you are hooked up. Great location but not our style.

I love Gwynns island it is a wonderful community and i love it there the people who manage the place are very nice people and everyone who goes there are very nice and friendly it is like a friendly little community who enjoys family and friends and the beach. The place is animal friendly and you can tent camp in certain places and you can RV camp on rows of nice neighbors. This place is the best and you should try it before you make the decision

Nice, quiet, relaxing place. Bathrooms were clean which are a plus. On a windy day, its nice watching the waves crash against the rocks.One thing that was a small issue is where guests are allowed to park if there's no room on the campsite, that was never explained.

We are having our wedding at the resort in August. We were checking out the premises and deciding where to have the ceremony. The assistant manager was nice and extremely helpful. She allowed us to see the cabins. We have rented all three on-site cabins for our wedding party.

Not a huge camp ground, so if that is what you prefer then this is a great place to check out. Nice facilities. Great "beach" area for small kids to enjoy. Very nice fishing pier. Playground for smaller kids. Dog friendly!

Very quiet campground. Bathhouse is clean and serves it's purpose. Views are absolutely awesome! Even saw some dolphins swimming last night! Perfect place to getaway for the weekend!

If I could give 10 stars I would! This is THE CAMPGROUND OF ALL CAMPGROUNDS!!My best friend and I came down for a girls weekend and we seriously can t say enough good things about the service and amenities. Golf cart/kayak rentals available on site. Everyone is super friendly and helpful!

I have camped here for 4 years and the other RV folks who live there most of the time are warm, welcoming and friendly. Can't say that for the woman at the front desk! For the first time we rented one of the cottages. Was looking forward to having full bathroom, 2 bedrooms and kitchen for a rainy weekend retreat. Well, opened the cottage door of the non smoking cottage and it stunk of smoke, the firepit was loaded with cigarette butts and the floor was gritty with sand. As if housekeeping never was there before check-in. I returned to the front desk to inform them, so I was not blamed for it. No offer to correct the issues, or offer discount..nothing. Was to late to go elsewhere. Had paided in full, no refund option. I emptied a can of Lysol in the place, opened windows and did the best possible to air it out. After dinner went to take a shower...No Hot Water. Since there is no after hour maintenance on site and no emergency contact...no shower. Yes, we could have gone to the bath house...but the whole idea was to have the luxury of a full bathroom during a pandemic for health reasons. Couldn't wash dishs either! Had a quantity of Lysol wipes so used them. In this quarantine pandemic, we had no hot water to wash or bathe. Next day at check out when telling the office there was no hot water, she said she would have someone look into it! No appology, no discount no nothing!!! Will never rent a cottage there again. This is my favorite vacation spot, for years we have returned because of the other campers that are there, they are friendly folks... This experience SUCKED!!!!

Upon arrival were told we could keep site assigned or pick different one Gave us use of their golf cart & list of open sites to check out. Picked site and backed in just as rain started. Soon after rain quit, Ron came by & told us site right on water opened up & we could have that if we wanted. Couldn't ask for more accommodating people

Great place for people who aren't high maintenance. Friendly people everywhere and each trailer has a nice sized lot. It's also not cowded; however, service from employees aren't always great and front lots only receive thirty ampsof power.

Loved staying by the Gwynn's Island shores. Such a peaceful time. We loved the walk around Downtown and Hole in the wall restaurant experience was great.

LOVE this place, everyone was super nice. Even the campers are nice and willing to help in any way. Very clean and great location. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

First of all if i would be able to give a hundred stars i will, the staffing personnel is very polite and greatly welcomed you with open arms, i will definitely invite all my friends and family to this amazing island rv resort. There's is a lot you can do from bringing your own rv or motor home, fishing, kayakingWalking .It has picnic area, recreation center and much more.

This is not your typical campground. 98% of the people live there. There is only about 5-10 open to public spots. Watch your camper height too. The only bridge onto the island has a 13.9ft clearance.

2nd time camping here this year. Really enjoying it. The place kind of grows on you. Everyone is very friendly. Nice amenities. Definitely worth a try.

Excellent campground with awesome views and a small beach. Ice is available at the front desk which is a huge plus. The permanent campers are very friendly as well.
