My family and I have a seasonal site for going on two years now and absolutely love it. The events placed on weekends such as bands, corn hole, bingo, etc. is something you do not get anywhere else. The amenities such as the new pool in the upper section is amazing as well as the bath houses. All facilities are kept clean and monitored throughout each day! May I also say Freedom Fest is one of the best events to be a part of! Super proud to be part of such a wonderful campground community. Looking forward to returning to our second home in April!

My family absolutely loves Stoney Creek!! We had been occasionally visiting throughout camping season for years and finally had the opportunity last summer to become seasonal campers!!! We were so grateful our work schedules opened up to allow us to do this!! Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and I truly feel like it is a big family! Everyone goes above, and beyond to make activities for all ages, our three boys ages 3, 5, and 9 talk about the campground on a weekly basis, and how they can NOT wait for camping season to start back for us!!! The on site kitchen at the club house has amazing food!! Bath houses are very clean, free mini golf, the lake is super clean, both pools are spectacular. We tend to go to the top pool as it is more kid friendly with the shallow end. The live weekly music is amazing! Do yourself a favor and book now!! I promise you will not regret your decision!

Love love love this place. We were in a very rough situation in VA taking care of my stepdad who was still relatively well but in hospice. He became really stubborn and fussy. He was sleeping all day. A friend suggested we put our camper here for a little get away in the afternoons or when we could. This place and these people and the owners and staff welcomed us with open arms. We spent a better part of 3 seasons here and it felt like home. We ended up moving back to PA but Stoney Creek and everyone there (full timers, part timers and passers through a like) were amazing. I left a little piece of my heart there the day we had to pull out and move back to PA. The people and the place will always, always hold a special place in my heart. And I love the little lake!!! So many beautiful photos from there. And we had a lot of FUN too. The events and bands are always a blast as well. No matter your style of camping; Stoney Creek has something for everyone!!!!Safety: Always someone watching out for you!!!!Walkability: 2 of the 3 sections are great for walking/running and bike riding!Food & drinks: Great little grill!!!!! Food was always fresh and hot. The biscuits and gravy Noteworthy details: Just an all around great place. Large rig sites and cabins/bunkhouses too.

Been going here for well over 6 years and each year they improve things for both kids and adults. Never had any issues with my bill or reservation and they will bend backwards to help you any way they can. The store is stocked very well from food supplies to camping supplies and everything in between. The kitchen has plenty of choices and all the food is good. Things for every age from swimming, putt putt, games, kids activities, and much more. Most weekends are a themed weekend which are full of things to do including FREE kids activities. This campground is ran by a wonderful family that treats you just like their family. Give Stoney Creek Campground a try, you will not be disappointed you did.

Absolutely love this campground. We haven t stayed in the cabins, but they are beautiful! You have a lake for fishing, floating, swimming, kayaking. They have the pools with saltwater. They have a wonderful putt putt course. They have activities every weekend. The food in the clubhouse is outstanding! The staff is absolutely amazing!! They are always great! The bath houses are remarkably clean! I would highly recommend this campground!!!

Wife and I enjoyed a nice quiet and relaxing two night stay on our way back home from visiting Martinsville Speedway previous weekend. Stayed during week Monday-Wednesday end of October/early November. Site 191 right on the lake was great. Newly laid gravel for level spot, spacious with beautiful water views. Campground store very well stocked, nice laundry facility. Enjoyed few games on the mini golf course. Took our dog on many walks on the trails around the lake. Campground is huge with plenty of sites including water views or tucked back in the woods. Friendly staff with great customer service. Would like to experience campground during busy season when activities are going on. Will definitely be back when in the area again. Highly recommend this campground and nearby Redbeard Brewing Company that we visited.

Everyone knows that we camp A LOT we also go to Stoney Creek Campground.. until now and we will never go back.We had paid for Freedom Fest which is September 8-11, it was $325 and some change for each of our families; so Dad, Bill and Jenny, and Brandon and myself. Today they called demanding payment for Labor Day weekend, our families collectively had talked about cancelling due to some things for the kids that had come up, so when they called we decided it was best to just go ahead and cancel.A little bit later, Dad s phone rang and it was the campground calling. The lady at reservations told Dad that because we cancelled Labor Day weekend that we were no longer welcome to come to Freedom Fest and cancelled us for that weekend and the remaining weekends we had booked, which including a couple more weekends and both Halloween event weekends . We did receive a refund for the freedom Fest, however to do us this way is very dirty. We were also told that apparently because we didn t like dealing with one of the gentlemen named Bob, who constantly screwed things up, that he felt threatened and this contributed. We helped with events and helped Halloween both weekends in the past and had planned to help again. This place was once a great place to camp with the family, but now it s not. It s money hungry, temper tantrum throwing, and very non friendly. We have had so many issues this year with members of their staff letting their power get to them and being told by the owners that they would address it. Obviously, that s not the case and I cannot recommend this place at all to anyone if you are looking for a family friendly, laid back, relaxing environment.

We almost canceled after reading the negative reviews but so so glad we chose to keep our reservation. We visited over Memorial Day weekend- booked the last site available and it was fantastic. The staff was absolutely amazing- so welcoming and friendly- happy to assist with any question or need. We were on the upper level -site 375- it was very spacious and private. The bath house was directly across from the site- it was immaculate and well maintained. The upper level was very quiet at night- we have a travel trailer with drop down beds- so noise can be a problem at some campgrounds- it was never an issue during our stay. The neighbors were friendly and respectful. The pool appeared very clean and well kept- the lake was beautiful and the camp store well stocked. We spent most of our days hiking so did not participate in events they had scheduled but clearly a family atmosphere enjoyed by all. We like to walk/hike so we did not rent a golf cart for our entire stay- if that s not your thing you may want to consider renting one if staying in upper lot- it is a bit of a walk to pool/lake/store- if you are considering booking in this area I highly recommend it you won t be disappointed.Nearby activities: Crabtree falls excellent hike, Natural Bridge- breathtaking walk.

Me and my family have been camping here the last 9 years. Everything has been great until this year. They let other people claim campsites for special events before we even had a chance to pull out or make the same reservation. Plus this is the first year that payment was to be made a whole year in advance. I think this campground has became less family oriented and more money hungry.

Alisha and Phillip Hoke, Low Moor, VAThis is our choice of campgrounds. Family friendly, quiet, great amenities, everything you need at your fingertips, honestly we feel like family when we are here several times out of the year. Highly recommended huge, clean and beautiful campsites as well as shower houses and beach. Great fishing for the men and awesome entertainment, not to mention Bingo for the family and multiple kid activities on the weekends. Never disappointed!! Always WELCOMED!!

I made a reservation and spoke with someone at reservation for a holiday weekend and was told that I could use the credit that I had from credit I had on books from October and booked June 30- July 2nd. I wrote Al the information down and site number. I called to see if we could doLate checkout and they had no reservation. Ask if I get emails. I have never received an email prior and it was because we always book over phone or in person. So we dont have a reservation and it is holiday weekend and will not be able to camp with our friends. The only thing they offered was to be put on a list. They do not recall this which is a lot to be made up. And would be a waste of my time and theirs!!!! Pretty much called me A liar. That doesn t go well with my personality. There has been many other issues in past like poor campsites that you can hardly get into. Side by side running right beside and through your campsite and cussing and carrying on at 2 am. No more Stoney creek for us!!!!

We love Stoney Creek Campground. We have been camping there for the past 4 years every Memorial Day. However I do not understand their logic for reservations. You have to call and put on a call log then they call you back. When I called and was put on the call log was told I was 4th on the list, but it took 45 minutes to get a call after they started making calls. It s hard to believe that all the 13 lake sites were taken by 3 other campers. It just seems counter productive. Why can t people make reservations a year in advance and also have a online reservation process like a lot of campgrounds and be able to see what s available instead of jumping around on the phone to see what y all have.

Made this our maiden voyage destination for our new camper and we weren t disappointed. It s only about 4 miles from our house (by design wanted to be close to home if something breaks on the new camper), but it was a fantastic trip. The few fellow campers that were with us were very friendly, the staff were very friendly and the grounds were fairly well maintained. We liked it enough to book Memorial Day weekend and are thoroughly looking forward to that stay. Our spot was very close to the lake and we were next to a stream as well. Very easy to back into and very level we were unhitched, hooked up and ready to go in about 15 minutes.

We had the nicest time this past weekend. This place really pulls out the stops for Halloween. They had a haunted trail maze my older kids did twice. Lots of campsites decorated for the trick or treat. Nice large sites. Nice little store w good prices for cafe food. The only thing I'd like to see is lower bathrooms/shower houses need an upgrade. Pool would be nice too, but they have a nice swimming lake and beach, so not needed.

Went for the bluegrass festival. Music was very good, great shaded area for the music as well. The food was average at best. Fries were good but the Buffalo chicken sandwich amd the BBq sandwich were both so soggy and messy when we got them they went in the trash. The bread was sopping wet , it was awful. Campground was large and pretty nice however if you are one that likes to keep your truck and camper clean like I do just be forewarned this is by far the worst place I ever seen for dust. The road needs calcium or something to help with that because it is horrible. They are installing a miniature golf course but it's not completed yet. Very nice pond with a dock. The only complaint about the festival was they don't allow people to jam very long. I been going to festivals since a child and people always get together and jam all night after the bands play. Here the owner will shut you down very quickly as he did us. My suggestion would be to reserve the lower section for the festival people and those that want to camp without the festival have them up top so not to disturb them with the music. Overall it's a good place and close enough to stores if you need anything.

Stayed a long weekend (3 nights) last week. The park is so big! We rented a golf cart, which was very clean and well maintained, and was able to see the whole park. That would be tough to do on foot. We stayed in site #15 with a 38 foot fifth wheel. We had plenty of room to park our tow vehicle and another car, and our "front yard" was nice and roomy. Site was gravel and we had very little dirt inside the camper even after a rain shower...no mud. It was a bit odd that so many seasonal sites were mixed in with weekend sites but most were well maintained and the people we encountered were very nice and respectful. The store is very well stocked...milk, eggs, even bacon...soft drinks, beer, wine, all of the necessary food staples and lots more. If you forgot something chances are they have it in stock. Our can opener broke and they had several. The pool is big compared to most campgrounds pools we've seen, with lots of lounge chairs available. The lake is beautiful with a nice beach area and again...lots of lounge chairs. Our site had alot of shade. The roadways were about what you'd expect... adequately maintained with some areas needing a little work. It got a bit loud and chaotic around the playground/pool area the night the band was there but that's to be expected. If you don't like it you go back to your site. Overall a fantastic first experience here and we plan to go back later this summer.

Here now and enjoying the campground. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The campground is a busy campground, which I don t mind personally. I like quiet and laid back and I like busy, so it doesn t bother me that there are golf carts running around throughout the day and evening.I will note that the campground grounds are well maintained and pretty nice but the facilities are mostly outdated. The restroom and shower facilities need some serious updating. There were doors on the stalls that didn t have a lock or if they did, it didn t work. Some had knobs but didn t have a lock. They were poorly lit and fairly dark on the inside. And the most interesting concern is the pattern throughout all the bathrooms at the campground where the toilets in the stalls were directly in front of the doors. Not a lot of room to really maneuver sitting down is a challenge more of a squat than a sit and the door to the stall is all up in your grill (don t hate for the bathroom review, we all do it).As far as the complaints about the confederate flags and the permanent sites whatever I wasn t chased around the campground by rednecks toting muskets and hand-loaded long guns. People will always find something to whine about or be offended by.Overall I enjoyed the campground and the experience.

My family loves this campground and needed a place to unwind and just relax. Lots of things for the family to do from fishing, swimming, mini golf, concerts and karaoke in addition to cornhole tournaments. The sites and restroom are clean, restaurant and entertainment are exceptional. Love that we know so many there that we don t see often and those that we don t know are friendly. Staff is informative and friendly. Love the fact of limited internet and no cable TV. This will become our home away from home.

We pulled in late to Stoney Creek, with just a bit of daylight left. We checked in late at the general store, and backed into our site (48). Roads are wide and flat (gravel). The campground is well-maintained and the staff are friendly. They have a well-stocked store and a big event hall for dining and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

We've been camping here seasonally for 3 years now. We love it! The owners are wonderful! They are constantly working to improve things. They have done a wonderful jobj! Every here is very nice! The campground is kept up real nice. The pool is clean . A bouncy house for kids! There is bingo every Friday night and a band most Saturday nights in the summer and some in the fall. Halloween is a blast here! Weekend breakfast at the clubhouse can not be beat. Best pancakes you ever put in your mouth! This campground is a blessing! Come and try it out! You'll really like it!!

We were able to visit this campground in November so it was cold! My brother is a "full timer" here and loves it. The grounds are lovely, the staff helpful and friendly and we were able to use the event hall for a group of us to celebrate my grandmother's 85th birthday. We used it for 2 days and enjoyed playing games at the giant warm fireplace that heated the whole room. Definitely would do again!

Very peaceful and secluded area with a small lake. Lots of trees. Sites are built between the trees, so they may be difficult to access. My site was not very level. Utilities work fine, but wifi didn't work at all and my cell signal was not super strong. Price might be on the high side when considering a few of the disadvantages...but I sure got a pleasant night's sleep here.

This is the cleanest and friendliest family campground I ve ever seen. Had a great time over the weekend. Family friendly, store, and small restaurant on site. Tent camped right by a small stream with a view of the lake. 20 minutes to the parkway and skyline drive. We will stay here again.
