I was recommended to Russell after my newer suv failed state inspection due to a mishap with another garage that took advantage of me. Long story short Russell was so kind He was 100% honest with me got me the part I needed and put it on the same day and charged literally 1/4 of what the 1st garage charged and my brakes are still running like new. I ve been back to him many times since then and he s earned my full trust. I highly recommend him and his team because he s not gonna try to jerk you around or pull the wool over your eyes he s one of the good ones and he knows cars. Highly recommend. We had the engine light come on and the car basically shut down a few miles out of town. Called Progressive Automotive and Russell answered. They were slammed and they had no availability, but he said to get the car to the shop and he would run the code check to see what was happening. Long story short, they completely diagnosed the problem, refused to accept any money because they didn t have the parts in stock to fix it but also test drove it and checked all the fluids. By the time we left, the engine light was off and not coming back on and the car was running normally. Russell expressed regret that they couldn t don t do more for us. But since we were from out of town, they at least helped us figure out what was going on and got us on our way. No charge. No feeling at all that we were getting in the way of their paying work. First class experience. The absolute highest recommendations for Russell and his team. The off-the-chart ratings here are not a fluke. If you re going to break down, pray that it happens near Front Royal.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My car broke down and had to be towed back to DC - Russel was very kind, helped, provided advice and showed a lot of compassion. I got to know a nice, kind and decent person

Came through the Shenandoah NP last fall and had engine piston problems. They were friendly, knowledgeable, quick, HONEST and made me want to drive back here for all my needs. if only I could. So much better than any place I can find in Vermont. Thank you Progressive Automotive for all your help in saving my vacation.

Found Progressive Automotive like most people doing a simple online search and looking at reviews to guide my search for the best business to perform the auto services I needed. The team at Progressive Automotive was exceptional, from first meeting with the owner discussing the work, fair pricing, accurate scheduling and delivery of quality completed work. Russell and the team treated each of vehicles I took there as if they were their own. Work I had done included a new transmission, and several general maintenance items. Always bring my vehicles here. Always friendly, honest and up front. Had him check out my engine when my car gave up. He explained it needed a new one and said he honestly didn't think it was worth the cost and I agreed and he did not charge me for checking. Had a few other things done here with lower cost than most places and good work.

Took my 90 Mustang down to Russel and Eric after a crap load of maintenance so they could finish it and tie up the loose ends for me and what an amazing job they did. Super honest- great prices- you'd be a fool to go anywhere else if your looking for quality services and good people. Quite honestly with a two man operation you have to build your reputation on integrity and quality and these two in my book are top notch!!

Honest, fast, courteous service. Very fair price on parts and labor. We have a 2006 Dodge Deasel truck that we had it towed to the shop where they told us that we would have to take it to the dealer they could not fix it so honest rather than keeping it forever and then saying that INSTEAD they diagnosed it quickly and realized that they couldn't fix it the part that shocked me was they didn't even charge a hour for labor he simply said we can't fix it just a note the truck went to Dodge and ended up staying there 2 months and that was were they found out that it was struck by lighting. Needless to say my truck is at there shop right now getting the parking brake fixed we will never go to any one else THANKS SO MUCH GUYS

Just found out that when this place fixed my water pump they tore the front seal in my car coating me a truck load more money think twice before going here or trusting them unless you got money to waste for a second machanic
