Greatest DMV I have ever been to, and I've been to a handful lol. No matter the day of the week everytime me and other friends/family come here it's always quick and very helpful.Other DMVs I've gone to they're just short and just don't want to help but everyone here has a smile and it's a pleasure.

Try to make an appointment that way things will go alot more smoothly, oh and make sure you have all the paperwork you will need.

Some of the negative reviews here were so harsh, I almost didn't go to this location. I'm glad I went anyway. The staff was friendly, beyond efficient, and I was in an out (for a DL renewal) in about 10 minutes. The office and bathroom were both super clean, and overall, my experience was pleasant. Yep, a trip to the DMV was PLEASANT! KUDOS to the staff at this place. Keep up the great work!

Most of the people here are friendly... Most... On a plus this is usually one of the quickest DMV's we've ever used mind you it is still DMV Very clean and tidy place staff does a good job keeping it that way. All in all this is a great DMV to go to.

I don't know how anyone could ever rate this DMV less than 5 stars. That's wild. I bop between NoVa and southern VA. I will always drive to go here now. I've had a lot of terrible DMV experiences (DMV is basically synonymous with terrible), but never here. The staff are incredibly efficient. Because they get you in and out, there is rarely any line. They are very helpful and also just soooo kind. If you want to be treated like a human being and not an annoyance, come here. Literally the best DMV in Virginia. ALL OF THESE WOMEN DESERVE RAISES!!!

The whole staff is extremely nice , efficient and helpful. They guide you step by step . I went there for the road test . The lady at the information desk was very polite and explained calmly that I need to fill out one more form before I can take the test. The examiner for the test , Jenny was the nicest of them all(not to take credit away from the other staff , they were all nice) , she conducted the test in a very peaceful manner , not even for a single moment she made me feel like she was the examiner . Her directions were pretty clear and she informed well before hand what needs to be done while driving. So far , the best DMV I have visited ever . I wish all the DMV s in the country are like this. Thank you to the whole staff for making this a pleasurable experience.

So went in today, first time at this dmv . I will say this I will never go to another one . They are helpful and every person working there was smiling and happy . I have never been to a dmv we re you didn t feel pressure from the employees there to have everything filled out just right hell they helped me fill it out. Every dmv employee should work here 3 months to see appropriate way to treat people before going elsewhere Kudos to the manager there.

Appt worked very well. Took several weeks...just over two months to get in...but when day came, it was very smooth. Small place with just three windows at the counter but no line due to the appt and we probably waited just 20 minutes or less inside at a chair for a few people before us. And ladies at counter were patient...I had to make a quick call to my auto insurance to clarify something. My counter time was prob just 10 minutes for title and registration...maybe 15...went very fast really.

Now that they offer walk-ins, it can get pretty swamped so just be prepared for a wait around 30 to an hour. But the staff were very helpful and we're patient with me while I got a new license and registration. As DMV experiences go I'd say it was pretty good!

This is the first time I've been to the DMV in Front Royal. I made the appointment a couple of weeks ago. Everything went smooth and the wait time was very minimal. I live in Winchester, but couldn't get in to the Winchester office until 3 weeks later, but was able to get into the Front Royal office sooner.

The DMV was clean and appropriately staffed. Unfortunately my interaction with the clerk wasn't the best. When we figured out that I needed additional documents, the tone of the conversation was noticeably different. The clerk became a little rude and less willing to give advice. While still maintaining a moderately professional tone, it was more like I was a burden instead of a customer that needed assistance. I was able to reschedule my appointment but was warned it was the last time I would be able to reschedule with the DMV office. Next time I will have to use the state website to reschedule. Overall, it was frustrating experience but in the end we have all come to expect that from this department.

The one lady with blonde hair and glasses laughed at me for asking, "Is this piece of paper sufficient for a temporary DL? Why aren't there printed picture DLs, that expire after an X amount of time?"She says, "We haven't done that in years, at this location". Why are you all stuck in the 1970s-1990s, with some cheap stamped license paperwork? Why ask for my eye and hair colour, when the DL is only in black and white? You make "cool" 3D effects on these DLs but keep it 1980s yearbook quality themed? Wow, I'm glad I'm paying overly expensive taxes on all my purchases every year, only for this money hungry form of government agency, to be cheapskates!

Rude literally no one in the building i went in for registration renewal was told to make an appointment even though it doesn't tell me to online. So I said okay make me an apt. The woman says sorry we can't do that only online. Like what are you doing standing here there isn't one customer and your just walking around. What a joke....went online and next appt is over a month away registration due in a week. Literally there wasn't one single car there. WOW... I'm a disabled veteran you would think I deserve better.

Worth the wait for an appointment! So quick and easy and even received a text 25 minutes before my appointment letting me know they were ready for me (of course I was already in the parking lot). As far as DMVs go this place takes it.

Did not realize that its mandatory to have an appointment. It is buried in the Virginia DMV website to get Real ID you must have an appointment to conduct this transaction. The greeter said they would not let us in after driving 36 miles to get to Front Royal. They had all of two cars parked in the customer parking lot. They could've fit us in if they made an effort. Was willing to wait. No effort made at all. So disappointed.

Made it very difficult, on multiple occasions. Been told to call their number on many situations and they never picked up, it's always voiced recordings. I've called 11 time this morning since they've been open. One for each minute, and this wouldn't be here if the website was helpful in any way. I don't see why we all couldn't figured out the online id process.

You must have an appt., but that makes the process very fast and efficient. Several people showed up who did not and the person at front was very courteous answering their questions, explaining the process to go online to book appt., and giving paperwork. Overall a pleasant experience!

Don't bother with this location. Checked in with the information desk and had all of our paperwork verified. Waitied over 90 minutes to have the person behind the counter tell us that we needed different address verification. They need to get it together and train the employees correctly so people don't have to waste their time. Not only that, they are rude about it. What a joke.

License renewal with new pics... we experienced the usual, friendly, efficient, helpful, competent service we have always enjoyed at this office. Completely non-bureaucratic and a pleasure to do business with them.

I would give no stars if I could. The staff are beyond rude. I had an appointment but I marked what I needed down wrong and they would not make any effort to squeeze in what I needed. No other customers in sight and I was told that they had no time because they had other appointments. I waited for almost an hour and never saw another customer and was then told I needed to reschedule. Do not waste your time with this place.

I went in with a scheduled appointment and the lady who checked me in was very nice and helpful. I was able to get my transaction accomplished in a timely manner and everyone was very helpful and nice.

The appointment lead time is rough right now, but the staff at this location are exceptional. Fast processing, professional service and clear instructions to keep the confusion to a minimum.
