My son-in-law brought a truck here to get a pre-purchase inspection done for me. They found a few serious issues that I did not see on the truck. It was a purchase that I walked away from but it was well worth the cost of having them go over it.

I have been using America First to service my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport since moving here in 2019. This is the only shop I will use in Fredericksburg. They are professional, honest, and very helpful. They do not try and sell you something you don t need which I find reassuring.

I've known the owner's my whole life and own-operate a Mobile Automotive repair company also have a shop in Stafford. I take all my customer's and my personal vehicle's here for Inspection's, Emission's and wheel alignment's that we cannot offer. They get me in and out as well as drop off is always the same! I get a call within couple hours after opening for update and knowledge of completion. My family of 7 was stuck 8 hrs from home with inability to get back with our 1984 Chevy G20. They expedited service and parts, and got us out in about 5 hrs. Even stayed a little after closing to finish the job. Our other options were to get a hotel and/or fly home. They did an amazing job for us and our children. Best auto repair shop around. Honest folks with great employees. Jeff has been our mechanic the last few times and did a great job on our Camry and our two Silverado's. Accurate diagnosis and fixed right the first time. Absolutely would recommend this location to anyone looking for a respectable, honest, and friendly shop for car inspections or repairs!!!In the last month, I have brought in all 3 of our vehicles for state inspections and emissions testing - as new residents to the state Greg in the front office was invaluable! He took the time to explain exactly what would be needed at the DMV and advised on what was needed for one of the vehicles to pass inspection in a clear and understandable manner.Being in the shop for 3+ hours this month, I can tell you that this has been the norm in all customer interactions I have witnessed.Would highly recommend reaching out to this shop for any of your vehicle needs - they will be honest and upfront about what they can help you with and the cost of any services needed.Services received oil change, headlight polishing, emissions, and safety inspection (wiper blades and headlight replacement).

Gosh, where do I start??? I could go on for days. I own All American Diesel, LLC. We don't currently perform state inspections, so when we have a customer that needs one while their truck is in for service A1A IS THE ONLY PLACE I TRUST PERSONALLY to make sure that my customers are covered and safe when it comes to their state inspections. Tyler is the man when it comes to getting me in and out as quickly as possible so that I can deliver my customer's trucks to them in an exceptional time and without any issues. David is extremely knowledgeable as NOT ONLY from a technicians position(having worked for Chrysler/Dodge for many successful years), but als when it comes to dealing with his customers (I've seen it first hand and also received the same treatment), running the inside business office side of things. Having the ability to break down customer questions and explain the diagnosis presented to him so they understand what repairs they're making and why. Greg (service writer) at the same time working side by side with David and also having a technician background(again, I've seen it first hand and also received it), very promptly responding to customers questions with the appropriate answers with the correct wording, so that they also can understand and trust that they're getting the services they've expected. As a whole, America 1st is for sure, hands down, MY PERSONAL "GO TO GUY'S " when it comes to any of my customer's gas vehicles, my family's vehicles and at the top of my world, my superstar wife and her little sidekick, daddy's little princess, riding in a 2016 Chevy Tahoe.I tell all of my customers that ask about their loved ones vehicles the same thing. When it comes to a gas engine powertrain, I literally TRUST THEM WITH MY LIFE!!! (Wife and daughter). My shop stays 4 to 6 months backed up year round as we have 60 years of Ford Powerstroke experience with all of us being Ford Diesel Master Technicians... So when we're flat out slam jam busy and the Mrs. needs her ride back ASAP and there's no way possible for me to do it right that second, I send it up to A1A. They get it diagnosed and knocked out with the quickness. Then guess what!? No finger prints or grease in, on or around the vehicle and produce very clean reliable work! Nothing broken or busted up! Fixed right the first time and fair pricing! It's a "No brainer"! These guys are who YOU TOO like myself, should trust with your gasoline engine powertrain vehicle repairs and services. So when you walk thru the main entrance at A1A you may rest easy knowing that you've got these guys on your side. Make NO MISTAKES, A1A IS AND HAS BEEN SINCE DAY ONE, the gas car and truck guys you can trust to handle all your family's and friends vehicle concerns. Thanks A1A! Yall are the best!

The Americas first automotive team are professional, timely, very competent, and most of all honest. All of the staff is welcoming and willing to answer any and all questions you may have big or small. If there is a problem that they can t help you with they will even help you find a solution elsewhere. Always being forthright and honest as to what to expect makes this business an amazing one to return to. I was recently recommended to America 1st Automotive by a good friend. My experience with the staff who were super friendly, respectful, and the level of professional skill and work was beyond amazing. They did their job perfectly in the sense that they found the brake fluid leak and outer tie rod about to fall out on my teenage daughter's car. They were able to perform all the repairs, do the state inspection, and even made notes on future services that should be performed to keep the vehicle in good running condition. We realized late that our inspection was nearing and Ford was backed up for awhile. We called America 1st and their customer service alone was outstanding. We were in and out. These guys are amazing. I talked to David one time about my sister in law's truck and the issues. We couldn't get the truck started and he immediately sent the tow truck. The guys worked on the truck for weeks trying to resolve the issue. Calling many different places to find a transmission. Took their time and fixed other things along with finding the best deal on a transmission. We got the truck back and it stopped working again..David sent the tow truck again for us. Fixed the next problem within a day!! The thoughtfulness and caring that goes into the guys fixing our car was amazing. They are absolutely amazing. It is refreshing to see someone care about their customers the way these guys do. I will continue to bring all my cars to their shop! Best shop ever and best guys ever!!

These guys went above and beyond today. My wife and I experienced a flat tire just as they were closing and although they didn t have the tire in stock these fellas stayed and extra 30 minutes to help out. They offered Use of their personal vehicle to go a mile down the road and pick up a spare free of charge! Definitely recommend this review is very well earned!Service: Tires

Called ahead of time to see if they could do a state inspection on a trailer, and they said yes, so I made an appointment.On the day of, I brought it in, and they inspected it right away. It probably took about 30 minutes or so. Afterward, they told me it passed all the checks, but it turned out they were out of stickers for trailers.They didn't charge me and said they'd call me when more arrived. There was only about a week left until the end of the month, but they assured me they always arrive pretty fast, so it shouldn't be a problem.Well, a week went by, then another, and I never received any call or voicemail. By this point, my inspection was already a week expired, so I ended up just taking the trailer to another shop.This was my first and only time visiting them, so I can't really comment on the quality of their work. Though they were pretty fast with the inspection. But everything else left a bad taste in my mouth.

Am new to the area and needed transmission fluid and oil change as well as inspections. David and his staff did a great job and extremely reasonably priced. Runs a very nice operation. They are very busy because they are very good! Where do I begin ....in a county riddled with mechanics that have more of an interest in ripping you off, ruining your vehicle, & providing low quality service these guys set expectations & standards that every mechanic in the surrounding area should truly be afraid of. My vehicle had an issue , He diagnosed the issue , explained why my vehicle was doing what it was doing , I set up a next day appointment , paid a lot less than any other mechanic would charge & my car was as good as when I drove it off the lot ...oh & I was out in less than an hour . I will unfortunately be moving to the northern va area very soon...but I have no problem driving 43+ miles to get quality top-notch service from a quality honest mechanic. No one else will be touching my vehicle but this crew from now on 10 STARS EASILYJust an update I moved & tried other mechanics because of distance & ultimately came back the fact that I drive 60 miles one way just to get my vehicle taken care of here should tell you how great this crew is & if you live in the Fredericksburg/Stafford area you won t find a better price .period.

Driving from Richmond and my engine just stopped!! I coasted into their shop and can't believe my luck! Had my husky and mother with me!!! I m very picky about letting just any mechanic at any garage work on my vehicles. Dave and his guys are excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Work bays and waiting are very clean. They are very honest and hard working. I will definitely be taking my vehicles there from now on.

Very happy to do business with these gentlemen...was having a difficult time finding a business that does emissions. Appt was on time...and checked my tire pressure! A1A is obviously incompetent regarding Virginia state vehicle inspections. I had the same vehicle inspected there two years in a row and then on the third inspection A1A decided that my vehicle did not meet inspection criteria due to a disallowed aftermarket part (installed 10 VA inspections ago) and a very minor discrepancy on the rear suspension that was pointed out to me several weeks prior while the rear brakes were being worked on (also installed 10 VA inspections ago).The suspension thing was first discovered by A1A several weeks prior while the brakes were being inspected, and at the time the mechanic and manager had downplayed the immediacy of it and made no mention whatsoever regarding it being a VA inspection item. Instead, they only said that correcting it would take several hours and that it didn t affect safety or drivability, so of course my concern was minimal (side note: the shop that performed the follow-up inspection corrected the issue in less than 10 minutes - that s how minor it was). Ironically , I had explained to the manager I was having my brakes inspected because my VA inspection was looming and I wanted to ensure my car was up to code in advance (my exact words to him). In other words, I was being proactive.It s important to note that I am not angry because my vehicle failed inspection. I am irked and writing this negative review because several weeks after having the rear brakes inspected & subsequently repaired and being told about a suspension issue that required no immediate action per the mechanic and manager, I returned to A1A for the VA state inspection as promised and listened to the same manager casually tell me that the previously aforementioned suspension issue had failed inspection and, by the way, the aftermarket part that passed inspection on the two previous years was also duly noted in the failed inspection report!Why in the h@ll would I show up to A1A for a VA state inspection several weeks later, all bright eyed and bushy tailed, with the same aftermarket part installed and the same so-called suspension issue, and wait there for an hour & a half if I knew my vehicle wasn t going to pass? Inspections on a whim - smh. Of course I was more than annoyed, but rather than the manager apologizing for A1A s incompetence and the inconvenience it caused me, he proceeded to make several excuses and accuse me of pressuring him to give my vehicle a passing grade. Ain t that a b!t@h. I really wanted to like A1A because they seemed like a decent bunch of guys. Unfortunately, the manager s lack of accountability corroded my respect and I will never return. I hope this review at least encourages others to do their homework (i.e., customers beware).

This team is awesome. They don't high pressure sales you, are very patient when figuring out exactly what is wrong, and their communication is on point.
