Last time I had them do a valve job their worker blasted all of my chrome stems of the 12 valves destroying the chrome stems. They call me saying valves don't fit the new guides that I installed & reamed to the good used valve stems. I prove that what he did damaged the valves, guides were perfect with a new valve. They bought me 12 new valves but didn't finish the job & tell me they don't want my business any longer! I found a guy to straighten out the work that they performed. This experience with them makes me wonder about the last 3 valve jobs they did for my shop! I run a successful German car repair !s They won't be doing my head work on my Subaru either!for 36 years & I know quality service

These guys are fantastic! They did cylinder head and valve work for literally 50-100 cars I worked on professionally and they just now saved my bacon on heads for my personal car. Above and beyond in the work they do, super friendly, very reasonably priced (in my opinion). I always hope I'll never need them for my personal cars, but I'm super grateful for them when I do because they just flat do great work.

Had work done 5-6years ago to a honda 1.6liter sohc vtec. .007 piston to wall clearance on a low cr built engine. To this day no blow by no spun bearings,no issues what so ever. Only issue, Dont call them and ask are the same guys doing the work that did it 5-6years ago, and tell them you are making sure it was them. becasue since the name has changed to lacks,and"Lacks" has a bad rep. Because the guy doing the engine work is Lacks himself. Sorry bro, The orignal lacks building next door tried to charge me a high number to fix something to get an inspection sticker because I disconnected my power steering (for mpg and hp) yall said it was illegal to do that and the fluid would leak out and i would lose my steering. I went elsewhere and passed. Then I came another time for a flat tire with a nail. Yall said to leave my car or tire over night...........for a nail in my tire. I just took it to Exxon instead. The people in AES are super smart. I recommend them to everyone. Id give them any engine to build. this engine had 200k miles. I rev it to 8500rpms, turbo charged 340whp.
