This is a great place! I blew two tires and they towed my vehicle to the shop, qgot me in the next day and my car was ready by 4pm. Price was very reasonable and the staff were very friendly. Definitely will be going back!

All in all absolutely horrible place to bring your car. Just like many many other reviews say just avoid all you can. The have the mentality of someone else will pay if you don t - the owner Karl himself is 50/50 depending on what day you catch him on.They re unprofessional, rude, and unfriendly. The last encounter I had at this shop this man was in a bad mood and yelled at me about my car problems. Like sir calm down then an old man came out the from the garage mean mugging me like I was in the wrong for having them diagnose and fix my car lol.Prior to this I ve had my car services here routinely. Definitely sold me stuff I didn t need a few times up charge. After sharing my experience with locals here in Radford they have advised me not to go there. I ve heard many stories by mouth of this place doing things without the owner s permission or not doing what was asked of them.Dakota the tow truck driver is a great guy though. Interacted with him a few times when I needed roadside assistance, so I would give them that. At least one good experience with an employee.Overall I would recommend M&M tires in cburg. Mccoys or Thompson tires have a good reputation too. I don t even stop to get gas here at all anymore due to my horrible last experience with them.

I never write reviews but this place has been amazing! I m a college student and as a young woman I m always prepared to have mechanics try to over charge me, but BP University is very trustworthy. They are kind, helpful, and they always call before moving forward with any repairs to make you aware of options and price. Highly recommend!

These guys ordered a part that I told them not to order, installed it without my permission... and then tried to keep my key when I refused to pay for it. Had to threaten to call the police to get my key back... Crazy. This was the straw the broke the camel's back... But I've never had a good experience there. Everyone I've ever interacted with there has been rude and condescending.Absolutely would not recommend.** Addition ** since there doesn't seem to be a way to reply to your response, I'll add to my original post. I don't want people to think I'm making this up based on you saying that you don't know what I'm talking about.I brought my explorer in for an inspection. You guys called me right after I left to tell me that it wouldn't start. I advised you that there was an issue with one of the relays, and sometimes it just needs to be unplugged and plugged back in, or temporarily swapped out with the one that controls the heat, and that this would fix it.Your employee asked if I wanted you guys to replace it. I said that it probably didn't need to be replaced, but if you absolutely had to, I had a brand new one in my center console, and to just use that. They said ok.When I came back to get my vehicle, it had failed inspection due to a totally unrelated issue. When I was being checked out at the register I was informed of charges for a new relay, and labor to install it. I reminded the cashier that I had explicitly told them not to order a new one... He said "well all the relays need to work for it to pass inspection"To which I replied...A) it DIDN'T pass inspection... So this point makes no sense... It would be one thing if it was the one thing left to do to pass it, and you figured I'd rather just have it fixed than have to come back... But it literally failed for something completely unrelated to the relay, so it made no sense to do a repair I told you not to do, when it was going to fail either way.And... B) all of that it moot anyway because I told you I had a brand new relay in my center console already! So why would you order one !?So... I said, I'm not paying for that. I told you not to even do the repair... and certainly not to order a part I already had... and his response was that he would not give me my key back if I refused to pay for service and parts that I didn't authorize and didn't need.Only when I threatened to call the police, did his manager come out and say, "fine, we'll just take the new part back," to which I said, "absolutely, I don't need it"And here's the best part. To clarify, it's the fuel pump relay (I believe I'm identifying that correctly) that sometimes stops working, and usually I just swap with the heater relay until I have a chance to buy a new one... That's what you all had done initially to get it started before you ordered the replacement... So when you installed the new one, you put it in the heater slot, since that had the "bad one" in it. When you came out to put the bad one back in, and take the new one out... Just for spite, you swapped them back, so that the bad one was back in the fuel pump slot instead of just putting it back in the heater slot where you had put the new one, and said "hope it starts" as sarcastically as possible... Deliberately taking an extra step just to screw with me. Luckily, as I had told you numerous times, sometimes just unplugging it and plugging it back in fixes it... So it started right up, and I drove away just fine.Btw, the same "bad" relay is still in use and my new one is still in my center console just in case... and my car passed inspection elsewhere. So, as I said in my initial review. Crazy terrible experience. Would never recommend you all to anyone.Good day.

Had my car towed to BP. Tow truck driver said probably fuel pump I told BP that and they said electrical and to take it to a dealer. I said (out of frustration) might as well junk it instead because I can't afford a dealer. They called me back and said they'd charge me $200 and they would junk it for me and they'd need me to sign them my title. I had it towed to Car Doctors instead and they fixed it, it was indeed the fuel pump. If I could I rate this a -1*

My college student got a flat tire. As soon as we entered the lobby Dakota greeted us in a friendly and polite manner. We told him the problem and he was immediate in his response to help. We left the tire to be fixed and he asked that we bring the car back and they would take care of everything. And they did. They are quick, with great service and the entire staff is friendly and helpful! And very fairly priced! I told my college student that all gas should be purchased from them from now on. Thank you so much to Dakota and the team!Service: Tires

Picked up my car. But two days later it had the same exact problem after "being fixed" by this place.Upd: we did call the same day, we were basically told that it's not your (university bp) problem.

Got my truck inspected and I spoke with Jake about an issue I was having with my inspection and he was very friendly and helped by getting the issue resolved and helping with his knowledge about my truck specifically and the requirements that the state has on it. He clarified a lot for me and again was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back there for any service I may need!Service: Vehicle Inspection

Ladies BEWARE!!! My mother took my father's truck to get the tires balanced because it was shimming. She had University BP to do it. Easy right!? They charged her $40. When she left it was worse than when she took it there. We took it to another garage and come to find out the back tires had no weights on them and 2.5 ounces off and the front were not balanced correctly and were 1.5 ounces off. NRV Lube corrected University BP's incompetence. I would highly recommend you stay away or watch them closely. Or they will charge you for services they don't even do.Service: Tire rotations

So kind. Dakota came to my rescue this morning. My car wouldn't start and I wasn't able to "jump" it off of my battery jumper. He came right away and jumped my car. I was unable to follow him back to the shop at that time because I had to get to work. Dakota told me that if I needed them to come out again after work just to give them a call and then I could come to the shop and they would test my battery. Of course we all hope we never need a mechanic, but I am so thankful he was around because I will definitely use them again.

So about 2 weeks ago I asked for them to replace my engine hoses to my 2002 Toyota and when I got it back it now stalls. They have refused to re-diagnose there mistake. I absolutely refuse to use this shop again. There income comes from college students and it being the nearest to university. It s 100 precent better to choose a shop on west end. I have had good experience but last experience was damage and costlyService: General repairs & maintenance

I went in for a state inspection at 10 am, wasn t seen til after 1 pm. No problem this time of year, I thought. Usually places are busy and full right around and right after the holidays so I didn t really think much of it. These people finally got my car in for the inspection, only to fail it. They said my car needed a decent amount of work and they were serious problems that were wrong that I needed to get fixed for my vehicle to pass inspection. I have looked, as well as other mechanics, at the so-called serious problems after being informed of them, and the people at University BP lied to me. I feel like they think they can get by with this, especially towards women. If you are a woman, I highly suggest going elsewhere. In all honesty, I wouldn t even recommend men going to this place with how deceitful they are. I will never take any vehicle of mine there ever again nor will any of my friends or family. I would give 0 stars if it were an option.

I broke down just up the road from this mechanic due to a fuel pump failure and more-or-less coasted to my destination. No way was I getting anywhere. The folks there very kindly pushed my vehicle in for service when I asked if they could fit me in. I work nearby, so I was able to walk back to the office. I needed the replacement of quite a few components relating to the fuel system (Keep your car gassed, folks) including the filter, the pump, the relay and the module. They fixed my car through the next day and finished it up the morning after that, which is quite reasonable for a busy joint.I knock off a star for one thing- my bill included a $380 fuel pump. That's pretty far on the high end of pricing for my vehicle, which typically goes online for about $200 for an upper-middle end daily driver part. The other parts were less expensive, but still about double what you'd pay near anywhere else. Obviously I expect a bit of markup at any mechanic when I don't bring my own parts, but even a $712 bill would sting a bit less than a $930 one. The repair itself, though, seems perfect thus far.Services: Electrical, Engine repair, Oil change

The other day I blew a tire, I had that tire fixed and changed and decided to get two more tires to replace My bad ones. This morning I take my car/bmw to university bp in Radford for them to change. They tell me that My car is too low for them to get a lift under it, understandable. Ok so when I got that flat tire I was able to take a jack to jack up My car up and take the wheel off of My car. I then asked the guy if he could jack the car up high enough to get the lift under it, the guy then told me that he couldn't do that either.... The guy was completely rude, I've never seen such disrespect, when i walked in, i asked the guy how he was doing and he completely ignored me.I will make it known now, their business and their disrespectful employees need to get their things together!!!!If anyone needs tire changes, go to thompson tire in Radford, very polite, professional and clean they can take care of me no worries.

We needed to have an alignment done and they were able to fit us in same day. We found out that was not the issue and it was quickly offered to be fixed. The price was very high for a $100 part. But that's to be expected at a shop. We were treated fairly and things explained very well and fair price for just the inspection.

I was on my way to Baltimore from Chattanooga. My transfer case gave out on Interstate 81. AAA recommended I get towed to this station. The owner runs the station which has four repair bays. He is a good Christian man, working the shop very professionally. All the mechanics working at the shop are ASE certified. They put my truck up on a lift and put a scope into the transfer case and showed me where it had failed. They found another transfer case that was being rebuilt about two hours away. They said they could get it there mid day the next day. They took me to a hotel, and picked me up the next morning. They had my truck repaired and I was on the road by 10am the next morning, and they did it for about 20% less than a Ford dealership did it for nine years ago. I highly recommend this BP station. This is a college town. If your son or daughter goes to college and needs service from a shop you can trust, this is the place. They gave me the very best service, they went above and beyond my expectations. And the pricing was very fair.

Was picked up by them on the side of I81 after hitting something on the highway in my Hyundai today. Very fast getting there and the young man driver was very polite and very professional. I'd use them again if I was in the area and would highly recommend.

I came here to have my new tires put on and an inspection. I love the professionalism and service, everyone here is very kind and friendly. I waited maybe 20 minutes if that and that is wonderful, especially for tire installation. I would recommend them to anyone and will be returning for all of my car care. Thank you all so much!

I love the staff at this location. They have helped me several times when I thought my car was done for! They are always very friendly, reasonable, clearly communicate with you while servicing your vehicle, and get the job done incredibly fast. I always trust that they will do a great job and do right by their customers. I love them and recommend them to anyone in the Radford area. I'll be sad to lose them when I move from this area!

I woke up one morning to see my driver side mirror busted out beyond repair. After making it to their shop and having them assess the damage, they told me it would be costly if they ordered the part through their distributor. INSTEAD...they suggested I contact a used auto parts store (that they personally recommended) and have them order the parts, and then have University BP do the installation when the parts come in. What could have been potentially thousands of dollars instead became just a couple hundred. Any mechanic that actively looks out for their customer to this degree deserves recognition in my eyes.Services: Auto glass repair, General repairs

Went in last night at 5:55PM. Asked about an oil change. Did not realize they closed at 6:00. Manager looked at the clock, looked up and said let's get her oil changed guys. SO NICE. I was very thankful (and yes I apologized). :) But I love going there for the services on my Honda. Helpful. Friendly. Highly recommend!

Just wanted to say they were friendly, honest, and efficient. Got my Jeep inspected in under 45 minutes in the middle of a busy Friday, which a previous shop rejected and tried to milk me $1900 for in unnecessary work. Thanks guys.Service: Vehicle InspectionService: Vehicle Inspection

Great Experience. I had a tire breakdown in a snowstorm and the mechanics there bounced my tire in the matter of 20 minutes, balancing included. The people there were exceptionally nice and also handled the work quickly and professionally. Overall it was a good price for the service and the mechanics were great.

This garage is the literal worst. I have dealt with a many of garages in my life so far and I have never been treated so insignificant. I went to this garage twice, once for an inspection and another time to have my bottom guard removed from the car because a bolt came off. The first time I came to get my inspection my car had checked out good with the exception of my license plate bulb had blown. I asked, if instead of giving me a rejection sticker and making me come back could they just replace the bulb and I would pay them for it. They refused and told me that I needed to change it myself or bring it back another time and they would change it and then pass my inspection. So, I had to take time out of my schedule to change the bulb myself and bring my car back again to have it reinspected where I waited for nearly two hours to have them re-inspect the car and charge me the additional fee to have it reinspected. The second time I came there I had the splash guard on the bottom of my car come loose. I brought it in to have it removed and hopefully talk about replacing it. Instead, I waited for around 30 minutes for my car to even be put on the lift. Once on the lift they removed the guard asked me if I wanted to come see it and was told they would not replace it because it would be pointless. Furthermore, while looking at my car on the lift I noticed that there was some impacted snow under the car. I of course, wanted to have it removed and when I reached out to try and pull it out myself; several techs in the garage rushed over and forcefully removed me from the garage. I didn't make a fuss in the moment, after all of that they took my car down from the lift threw out my old splash guard and charged me $40.00 for removing 6 bolts and removing a part from my vehicle. Also, to add insult to injury one of the techs/employees came out to smugly thank me and to "come back soon" as he laughed and walked away. This garage is so greedy and not willing to help, there are many other garages to pick from and I would not recommend this one to anyone!

I love University BP in Radfoard. My husband and I always take our vehicles there for any service needed. We are willing to travel 30 miles because we trust Greg (owner) and his mechanics completely. They have never lead us astray. I always highly recommend this business. Always welcomed with friendly employees and made to feel appreciated for bringing my business to them. Always willing to go above and beyond to satisfy their customers.
