The owner answered my call and was able to quickly give me a quote and schedule my tow. He was very kind and courteous and called me once he reached the dealership and let me know which service manager would be handling my ticket. Having to get your car towed is not ideal but Compass was wonderful to work with. Would definitely recommend.

Picked up the phone right away. Knew the area very well. Gave a quick quote. Sent someone who showed up minutes after hanging up. Tow operator was a very nice guy, even dropped me at a spot so I didn t have to walk on an exit where drivers might not see me. Highly recommend Compass.

Very awful experience with this company and I m from Stafford County was told one price over the phone just to be charged 300 more than quoted was given a discount if that s what you want to call was informed that they have a contract with the county to tow cars

Oh where do I begin! I was broke down (engine seized) at the light of a very busy ramp in 90 degree heat and having never been in this position before I Google tow companies near me and was told by 3 I have never heard of 1 to 2 hour wait time but Eddie's at least recommended this great company and I called stressed in panic mode and the sweet girl who answered the call was sympathetic and understood where I was and the danger that place posed being an off ramp at a busy exit ... she quoted me and had Mike there within 15 min thank God! He immediately said go get in the AC and don't worry he's got this! Wow that was music to my ears! He was a joy to chat with and made a miserable situation a tolerable one! Thank you Compass and everyone I interacted with... my engine needs replaced which isn't cheap but the experience was priceless! You were my guardian angels today! Compass Towing was an excellent choice when I needed a tow due to a flat tire. They dispatched someone quickly, as he called me soon after I made my call to update me on his status and approximate arrival time. When he got there he was both friendly and professional, but the thing that impressed me the most was that when he asked if I had a ride to where I needed to go and I assured him that I had a Lyft car coming, he actually stayed nearby until my ride came as it was dark and I was a lone female. Later when I talked with him to thank him, he said he called his dispatch to let them know what was going on, and they agreed that he should stay there until my ride came! Who does that any more? Even when I was younger and something like that would have been a welcome gesture, I was left to my own devices. I will always recommend Compass Towing to anyone needing the kinds of services you provide. Thank you so much!Service: Car towing

I had car trouble on the way to North Carolina traveling through Virginia. I called AAA and they dispatched Compass Towing. My car was towed the rest of the way to NC. The tow truck showed up to my location witchin 15-20 minutes. The driver Mike was professional, courteous and friendly.Service: Car towingService: Car towing

Terrible service, over charged me to tow my vehicle 15 feet off the road. I was yelled at then hung up on by a female representative, then I talked to the owner then he proceeded to yell at me and tell me that I was hard of hearing. I recommend that no one uses this service. The Stafford county Sheriff officers even talked to them and voiced their concerns about the price. This is an example of price gouging in FULL EFFECT. They will comment on this review and state that they don't have any record of this and that the calls are recorded, But please share the recording with the communityService: Car towing

Was referred to Compass through my insurance company and couldn t have been happier with the service! They had to delay me but continuously called me to inform me of my wait time. When the man arrived he was friendly, quick, and apologetic in my delay! Super happy with the service I received from them! They are fantastic!! I work night shift at Stafford Emergency department and my battery died, my husband was at work, and all my coworkers already left for the day AND I FORGOT MY WALLET AT HOME. My cables weren t long enough to reach security s car, because my car was blocked in by other vehicles. The call taker was very polite. They showed up within 20 mins and were able to jump my car.The best part is that they cut me a huge break and jumped my car anyway even though I didn t have my wallet, and let me get home to call them back for payment. Their technician that showed up was super nice and let me know I needed a new battery too. Would totally recommend!!Service: Battery service

Dean was very courteous and professional. Your tracking service helped me to greet him on arrival, and he knew just what to do. I raised the car's suspension and put it tow mode, so wheels will roll, although his rig lifted all wheels off the ground.He did a great job! Give him a raise. This is hands down the best experience I ever had with a tow truck company and believe me I have had many. Not only did Dean drive to take my call when many others did not. He drove from Fredericksburg to DC, When he arrived the vehicle could not enter due to clearance restrictions. Without hesitation him and his assistant James walked to my car and were able to get it started by hitting the starter with a hammer. Many drivers would have left as soon as they saw they could not clear a garage entrance. They were super pleasant and professional if only everyone could be like these guys the world would be a much better place.Services: Special vehicle towing, Long distance hauling

I was in an accident on 95 and Alexis from Compass came out there on 95 courtesy of the cop that called and got me off the road. Thank you for dropping me off at the WaWa so I could call someone to pick me up and for genuinely sympathizing with me. Sorry for what you had to do, being that you were off work to come get me. I had a tire blowout today and Dean was on another call, but stopped by to check on me. He was courteous, professional and very efficient. The price was reasonable, and he was able to deliver me and my F350 to a place where I could have my tires replaced. Outstanding service, highly recommended.

My kids vehicle stopped running possible alternator issue. I called my roadside assistance and told me that 30 to an hour but they never showed. I called and they dispatched Compass Towing, they called me and told we ll be there in 5min no lie. As I got there to meet them the driver, I think it was James. Got my keys and said we take care of it I can go I asked. He yeah I know where to drop, done it thousand of time he was taking it to another shop that I had already told him to take it. At this time I didn t know he could get it done. I asked for business card for future towing services. To my surprise they do repairs. So I ask you do repairs? He never sold his business to me or said that they could do the job. To me that s honesty and ethics. I told him take it to your shop and let me know what s going on. Received outstanding towing service for my vehicle from Dean and Billie. Arrived slightly ahead of projected ETA, and quickly, properly uploaded my AWD vehicle; then safely transported it to the dealership. These guys are very courteous and highly professional. After a nightmare weekend with my insurance company, Dean was dispatched to pick up my vehicle and had my vehicle at my house ASAP. He even recommended a place to have my windshield replaced to save me money. He and his team member were professional and kind. I would highly recommend for professionalism and timely work.

Compass towing & auto repair came through for me when two other localtowing companies failed to show up or Call for road side emergency..My wifes car stopped running in Fredericksburg on Friday afternoon with a car full of children. When I called USAA road side assistance to help her. USAA dispatched a local towing company that never showed up or called me to let me know when they would be arriving. When I called USAA back after 4 hours, they dispatched Compass towing. By that time I was all ready at home. Compass towing actually called me to let me know they were on the way. I told them that I had picked up my wife and the car was still in Fredericksburg. They offered to come to my house, pick up my key, and bring the car back to Stafford to the service center that works on my cars.They went well above what was expected, the driver TODD was very nice as well when he stopped by to get the key.This was the best customer service I have ever received from a towing company. They have a new customer now, and I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs towing or service work.They went above and beyond what most towing companies would do.Dean you and Todd are the best... We went on our weekly car trip from MD to VA. We do this practically weekly, Saturday evenings. Welllll... my certified, practically new 2016 Honda Civic abruptly broke down in VA. About an hour and a half away from home, most things were starting to close, I was put into contact with one of Honda s partner emergency roadside assistance companies, Compass Towing. James from Compass came as quick as he could - the entire process did take about an hour (delay wasn t Compass fault), as expected, but he was amazing. He even attempted to jump start my car, hoping it would save us on having to get it towed. He actually seemed like he cared about us, which made this absolutely awful experience a lot better. Unfortunately, after trying to jump start it for 30 mins or so, he eventually called it quits and started putting it up on the tow bed. Of course, I m devastated over my car, but still taking the time out to leave a great review for this man because he really made me feel a lot better and I knew I was leaving my car in good hands, as he towed it to the nearby Honda service center for me.Services: Battery service, Car towing

I work at pep boys in the shop and normally tow truck drivers just put the cars they tow in anyway they feel like, but today we had the tow truck driver Kayla bring in a non running car and park it perfectly in front of the bay door for us, and I just wanted to say I am very impressed and professionalism with her skill behind the wheel since most tow truck drivers don t care about the person who has to work on the car and Kayla took the time to make it easy for us to get it into the shop. I definitely recommend using this company based on this experience alone and now I have a new company to recommend to people for towing.

Needed a tow after my engine died. It was arranged through Compass Towing. Their driver Dean called me to double check a few details and update me on his ETA. He was very professional and quick, and even followed up after the tow was done. This company is coordinated and has nice equipment and employees. Thanks!

I was stranded, it was dark, late evening....by the time he arrived at my truck it was after close of business. His initial offer was to tow my vehicle and then repair it first thing on Monday. I still had 13 more hours to drive to get home and I had a deadline to meet. Dean understood and instead repaired my vehicle. Used roadside assistance app from my insurance company. First towing company took almost 2 hours to arrive and had the wrong truck. Insurance company then contacted Compass who contacted me directly and had a truck within 30 minutes. Towing was quick and professional, driver was very knowledgeable.Would use again if had a towing need.Service: Car towing

We came in for three issues:1) Power steering fluid leak2) Check engine light for torque converter3) Replace windshield washer fluid sprayers as drivers side was brokeMy wife requested to have the vehicle back by Wednesday as she had errands to runEnded up getting the following service:1) Repaired power steering fluid leak2) Replaced windshield washer sprayers3) Confirmed torque converter code (see details below)4) Informed us of catalytic converter code - said ok to repair5) Informed us a light bulb was out - said ok to repair6) Upsale - since the vehicle is in the shop anyway, syn oil change, and replace spark plugsLittle background - single income household here, with one car down, and thankfully I can still work; however, when I'm at work it is very difficult to contact me as cell phones don't work in the buildings and I don't always work in rooms with phones. We ran into some issues about the vehicle being available on Wednesday as well as coordination with my wife getting to the shop to pick it up, but it was worked out. I was informed the bill was going to be in the $2400-2500 range and my wife paid the bill on pickup; however the catalytic converter repair still needed to be finished after the parts arrive.Wednesday evening I review the receipt and notice some issues:1) Parts charge for spark plugs is 120% over retail. Mopar has the plugs listed online for $10 and Dean/Compass charged $22, so what should be around a $60 parts charge is $132.2) After seeing this I then check the catalytic converter charge. Dean/Compass billed me $835 for the part. Searching for the same part on line, multiple instance are in the $450-$500 range and Mopar has it for around $550. That is 52% above OEM retail. So far we're $357 over OEM retail price on parts.3) The bill stated "referred customer to transmission specialist for torque converter." This DID NOT HAPPEN.I called Dean/Compass the following day to discuss the issues I noticed with the bill and the highlights are below:1) Dean brings up going to SMALL CLAIMS COURT as a solution to "if I think he's price gouging me on the parts" and claims he's offended. Judge for yourself, would you consider Dean's prices that are 120% and 52% above retail?2) I clearly stated my issue that I came in with 3 problems only to find out after the bill was paid that the torque converter wasn't fixed, and he did not make it clear that it needed to go to a transmission shop when the vehicle was dropped off.3) Dean loses his temper, and I tell him we're cancelling the catalytic converter repair he claims he can't because for some reason this common part on millions of Dodge Caravan / Chrysler Town and Country vehicles is a special order. A yelling match ensues and Dean hangs up on me.My wife and I spoke about it and decided to chalk this up to an expensive life lesson and she took the van in to have the catalytic converter replacement finished as it was already paid for.At the end of the day we paid around $2500 and do not have a vehicle that will pass inspection. I rated the auto repair 2 stars as our vehicle is functional, but not all of the issues the vehicle was dropped off for we're addressed/fixed and the parts pricing and follow on communication issues were not good. Dean may be great at towing, but based on our experience, I don't recommend Compass Towing and Auto Repair for vehicle repair services.Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change
