I am not so sure that Don's is as fair and honest with repairs than they once were, especially when you price out the part yourself from local suppliers and see how much labor is involved. I tend to think that they're riding on their past reputation.

When I first moved to Northern VA, a friend recommended this shop. I later moved and started taking my cars to a mechanic closer to my new home, but on three separate occasions I was given an estimate for expensive repairs that turned out not to be needed. I always took the cars to Don's for a second opinion, and in every case what had been an estimate for more than $1,000 in needed work was judged to be unnecessary by Don's, so I came back to them as my regular mechanics. This is a very small shop with just three mechanics, so it may not always be the fastest turnaround for more extensive repairs, but I find these guys to be very honest and capable. When I needed body work, they recommended a good body shop I would never have found on my own.

I have several friends who ONLY take their cars and trucks here for service.I needed headlights and wiper blades (badly); on-the-spot at 8:45 they did it. Lights and wipers perfect now.My next significant repair will be with this station.

My jeep s engine started making a loud buzzing sound last night after reving my engine a little. This morning, I called Don s Sunoco around 7:15am and asked at what time Donnie and other mechanics would arrive so that could stop by and have them take a look. I got there around 9:20am, summarized my issue, they took a look right away even though they were busy working on other vehicles. They analyzed the issue and found two possible root causes, either the alternator or the belt pulley next to it. They were kind enough to let me leave the car for repair and told me they would do their best to fix it today. By 10:15am, I received a call, Darrel let me know it was the alternator, not the pully, and gave me two distributors to choose from. By 12:30am, I received a call letting me know the issue was resolved and I could pick it up. Are you kidding me? These guys are amazing!!!! Thank you Donnie and Darrell for taking care of me like I was one of your regular customers, and your neighbor. This was my first time coming here. I had read their online reviews, and they were all 100% correct. Solid professionals, and treated me like family. Thank you guys so much for your outstanding work, for being so friendly, and fixing my jeep so quickly! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I've been taking my cars to Don's for almost three years and have never been disappointed. They're honest and don't overcharge for their work. The first time I went there, they saved me $2000 compared to the estimate the dealership gave me (when they could have easily charged me more and still kept my business). I haven't gone anywhere else since!

IGNORE ALL REVIEWERS WITH SUPER-NEGATIVE COMMENTS, PLEASE! They either are mixing up where they actually did go or are from rival garages, trying to dissuade would-be customers...or are just plain old icky internet TROLLS. Our family has trusted Don's Sunoco for years and have experienced only excellent service to our vehicles and exemplary customer service. One time, I had no quarters to get air in my tires, and they kindly filled them for free. Recently, they were willing to take a picture of damage for a claim for me, despite their being very busy. And they did it kindly, not begrudgingly.The staff are highly knowledgeable, experienced, kind, and - in a world of discourtesy everywhere - TRUE GENTLEMEN. Thank you!

I always have a great experience here. They re always honest and will take the time to explain what is wrong with your car. They always call and run the prices by you as well to get authorization before doing the work.

Don's Sunoco tried to sell a friend of mine a car tire (Michelin 215/55r17 Premier A/S) for $360! A tire that is sold everywhere else for $165- $170. After a complaint, and she took documentation that it should cost less, they sold it to her for $220. I am very upset that they tried to rip her off.

Every time I fill up gas here I don t even run 7 mile and is gone 1/4 of the tank. How is this posible?Totally sucks. Hope they are not mixing the gas with sth else. My personal opinion is don t go there

The people there are very nice and welcoming, now I've only purchased some food (junk food) there and gas but my experience has been amazing. Always coming out and greeting me!

This place close at 10pm, but when I got there at 9:50, parked, got out of my car, they turned the station light off. He could clearly see me, and he closed early.
