This Liberty on South Washington St. in Falls Church is now my go-to shop for state inspections. When I drove in this morning for Virginia s required annual safety inspection, I was greeted by George who said he would get right to me when he finished up the vehicle ahead of me in his service bay. Indeed he did! Fifteen minutes after pulling in I was on my way the friendliest and most efficient inspection experience I ve had since moving back to Virginia seven years ago.

It s interesting to see the last two comments on here because I had a similar experience a couple weeks ago with the man flicking off the customer in the photo posted earlier. My car is a 2021 and my brake pads were replaced last year. I can walk to work, so I don t drive much. That same man, and I use that term loosely, wouldn t pass my car because of the brake pads. He barely looked at them and told me he assumed because the car is three years old that they wouldn t pass. I told him when they were replaced and he said it still wouldn t pass. Totally makes sense to me - If we didn t make assumptions and didn t do an inspection, we d all have to resort to common sense. I took it elsewhere and the mechanic laughed and said they re basically new. I won t be coming back here.

Great place to take your car to. They're very dependable and honest. The owner and his son are absolutely great. Don't hesitate to bring your vehicle here.

One of the worse experiences I have ever had. They almost ruin my car by adding way too much extra oil, which any unexperienced mechanic should know. My car kept breaking, and they never figure out the issue and they kept guessing, until I took it to another workshop and was fixed. They also caused a problem with my daughter's car and they always over charge for any service. The owner is very dishonest and very rude. I never went back there.

Pros- this place is quick and generally will take people without an appointment. I ve never had an oil change done so fast. Same with inspections.Cons- the prices for services that don t have a fixed price. The inspections are standard prices, but somehow the oil change ended up being over 100$ when I get the same one at the dealership for 65$. They charged and extra 30$ for topping fluids, checking tires, etc that I didn t ask for but they said was standard but then they charged for it. They had already done the service so I couldn t change anything.Will not return. Check the final price before you have them perform the service.

The technician left my new brakes such that they needed adjustment in order to be (in my opinion) safe -not have the pedal sink to the floor. The new disk brakes LOCKED during the first trip after service; After waiting 20 minutes for them to cool down at a rest area an hour from Washington, DC -and dumping water on them, they worked properly. I did drive very conservatively, tho, to avoid another possible brake lock-up. I called Chuck at Liberty from the rest area. He told me I might have to bring the car back and purchase new calipers!Update: SIX WEEKS after the service, on another trip in busy traffic up I-270, the RIGHT caliper starting freezing on the brake!! - I had to stop driving for about an hour until traffic subsided and the brake cooled.Chuck says his technicians are excellent; I say they make mistakes.Chuck's Liberty is a reasonable service station;==> I recommend you consider alternatives.

Cashier is very rude. I was just in there today and I bought some water and Gatorade. The cashier didn t even greet me or say hello when I greeted him. When I asked for a bag for my items he simply handed me one and made me bag my items myself. No regard for customer service at all. Just know if you shop here you will not be treated with respect and kindness. Disappointed .

Gas prices are typically better here than surrounding gas stations, but they only have 4 pumps, and they are slower than the average gas pump.

My car was repaired for a water pump problem and I got billed $2223.00They charged labour 1445Bolts caskets tension kit seals gaskets $370.00Anti freeze 2 gallon $24.956 qt Oil change Mobil 1 $85.95Shop supply $54.66I found out that the water pump repair at a Lincoln dealer would have cost me $690.00Before starting a repair the mechanic should have consulted me if I was ready for the repair at the price quoted.All what I was told is it will be about 11 hours for the repair for the water pump.Liberty gas and auto repair702 S. Fast and great service, all the employees including cashier was very polite and friendly. Went there for my VA inspection/emission and i was out in no time. If you wanna save time and ditch long lines for your inspections , visit this place and ask for George .

Chuck, the owner, quoted me $575 to replace both front wheel bearings--about half what I'd paid elsewhere. When I picked up the car the wheel bearings were still making noise. Chuck agreed to do the work again but when I picked it up the second time the noise was still present. I took it back a third time with the same result. I asked the name of the manufacturer but Chuck said he didn't know--surely if the parts were new, he would know the brand. I recently paid another shop $586 to replace one of the wheel bearings, and the noise has gone away.

The pump's credit card tap function wasn't working when I visited, but the cashier helped out. Public restrooms require door key from cashier. This place was a traditional filling station in the old days, so no soda stands and pastries in here.

Always a pleasure to service my vehicle here. Great prices and friendly staff. Chuck is my go to, very polite and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this station if you are looking to fix your vehicle at a great price and quick!

Good gas prices here and you can also get your emissions completed. The entrance and exit are very dangerous as your going down a hill and can damage your car if you go too quickly, but it is such a busy road that you will either damage the car or sit for an exhausting amount of time.

Drove my car there for a routine clutch replacement. They replaced the clutch, but broke the engine in the process. After two weeks, they said they couldn t figure it out, and I had to tow it away. They refused to admit that they broke the car, and charged me over $500. If you value your car, I would recommend a competent mechanic, anyone but them.

These guys were great, and maybe I had a bit of good timing, but for a Friday, oil change and inspection, it was less than a half hour and a fair rate for synthetic. Very nice and accomodating. I will come here again.

If you prefer an unethical jerk of an owner to deal with. By all means, take your car there, so it can be overcharged, and the warranty not honored. I've been giving business to this place for the last 6 years. Now, I won't even buy gas from them. My advice to avoid this place like the plague. And I will be filing a formal complaint with the city's consumer affairs office as well.

Had a great experience at this gas station, all the employees are very friendly and willing to help. Had a few repaires on my car and was very pleased with the results, I will start coming here all the way time. I will also recommend this gas station to all my friends

I just moved to Vermont and will miss Chuck and all those at Liberty. I have had great service for gas and repair/maintenance for the six years I lived in the area. Always with a smile!

when you put gas here check your account!When!!!I pay my gas bill machine take away of my account $1 extra Dollar, I tried to talk with the owner and he don't answer me, he take all the time when he talked to me, tell me a beautiful history, he take my $1 I'm sure he going to enjoy

Great place! I haven't visited a gas station so clean, well-lit, well-stocked, and well-managed as this one was, for an eternity. Bibek was friendly and helpful.

They are very good at car service. You can get emission check up here. And you can get state inspection too. Staffs are friendly.
