Chris and the team are professional and friendly. He is willing to answer questions and is excellent at communicating about the progress of repairs on our vehicles. I have two family members who come from Maryland to see him because they are that good! We will not go anywhere else!

Great service! Had a flat tirefrom a nail, called at 8am on Monday and was able to come in within 2 hours! Fixed in 30 minutes.

great service great ppl...Mike and the other gentleman were so kind, everyone was very accommodating & patient there, my inspection took no time actually on their part and I would highly recommend people to go. with the service I received with a simple inspection I can only imagine great things from any of the other services they provide.

UPDATE:we took our car in for an oil change. when we went to get it, it barely started. we refused to accept the car because it felt unsafe to drive home and my husband mentioned it felt like they forgot to put oil back in the car. they didn't offer an explanation or offer to try and fix the issue. the next day, rather than call and talk to us or try to fix the car they drove it to our house - without first even confirming we were home - handed us the keys and left. the car was undrivable. we ended up donating the car, and they had to come pick it up on a flatbed truck as it wouldn't even start.it wasn't a new car, but it had many miles left. it shouldn't have become inoperable after an oil change.-------------Chris was so incredibly helpful with a repair we needed that was literally hundreds less than what the dealer quoted us. The service was outstanding. He walked me through the whole repair so I understood the what and why. Highly knowledgeable, helpful, quick, and professional. Recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic!

I was referred out to this shop by my family. I am so glad I finally made the switch over to here! I had 2 previous shops literally scam me out of my hard earned money. I left my car with Chris over at Dan's and he did an excellent job with everything. Communication, explanation of what was needed versus cosmetic, fair enough pricing, and my car is finally driving fine!! I will definitely be bringing my other car here to Chris at Dan's Merrifield Sunoco!

I was looking for an auto shop for basic maintenance as my vehicle is aging. I was referred to this shop by a close friend. Took my vehicle in for an oil/filter change and tire rotation. Chris was very knowledgeable and professional. They also did a multi-point inspection and listed existing concerns for awareness and gave me items that will need to be addressed in the near future and items that were not critical. I truly appreciate the honesty, which can be rare in this industry. I live in Silver Spring, MD and will travel here for the great customer service and trustworthiness.Services: Tire rotations, Oil change

Since moving to Virginia in 2020, I've continually frequented Dan's Merrifield Sunoco for gas and vehicle maintenance. I was initially looking for a trustworthy shop when moving here, and I visited this place first as it was closest to where I live. I came here for inspections, and felt that the crew was quick and fair when performing said inspections. I will say I was surprised when receiving the receipt, because on the paper it listed the services performed which were both inspections. However, below that is "recommended services" and it gives an estimate of what they think should be done to the vehicle. I spoke with the owner Chris, and was informed that these recommendations were just things to keep in mind for future maintenance, and was not immediately needed. I later came here for oil changes as well, and service was generally quick too.Recently, I decided to get some safety related maintenance performed, and I let Chris know that while I wanted to get service done, I had a limit that I had available to spend. He understood, and he and his team stayed within that limit and fixed the biggest issues with the car at the time. After getting the car back and driving it for a few weeks, I can say that it does drive smoother and is a more comfortable ride.I can highly recommend this shop, as I have only received great service from Chris and his crew. Whenever I had questions regarding fixes for my car, Chris would walk me through and explain what was done, or what he recommends should be done on the car. He has never been pushy, and overall he is pleasant to speak with. Do not go there. They are there to rob you. Worst place to repair . For 10 minutes Tire patch they charges $50 for two nails and $100 for 4 on which you can buy a brand new tire and Install. Go and repair only if you don t mind paying expensive hard earned money.Service: TiresService: Tires

I absolutely despise doing car maintenance, but this place made it so quick and easy that I don t think I ll ever gripe about getting emissions done again.I parked in the emissions lane on the left hand side, and as soon as I got out of my car there was already someone coming out to greet me. He told me that it would take about 10 minutes, and he wasn t lying! I gave him my keys and sat down at 3:48pm and called my husband at 4:02pm to let him know I was driving home. Everyone was pleasant and checking out was easy. 10/10 would recommend and return.Service: Auto emissions testing

You ever leave an auto body shop and think how easy and simple it was to drop your vehicle off? I was pleasantly surprised. Picked my truck up from an oil change and got a heads up on my rear brakes for next time (I knew they were due soon heading in). Wow, I felt like I left without getting ripped off by car services for first time in a long time. I reluctantly pulled my car in after I saw a nail punctured my front tire, because I had a terrible past experience at the Maple Ave Sunoco. The technician there was super rude and condescending, I could not understand why, and I only went there for a smog test. I didn t want to go to another Sunoco after that.Not this time! Chris the technician here spoke to me right away and addressed me by my name. After he inspected my car, it turned out the nail was not deep enough to puncture my tire after all! Thank you Chris for being honest and efficient. This experience definitely changed my perspective about Sunoco!

The best inspection station ever! The first honest inspection I have had in YEARS. Before Dan's I had been "sold to" by every inspection station. Encouraging me to replace brakes or tires when they are clearly within the VA state limits (some by a lot). One even started the work on my wife's car without her approval. Another strong-armed her into work that she had asked them not to do ("I can't let you leave here with this unsafe car ma'am" TOTAL BS). Inspections for most stations is a way to draw business, and most are overly aggressive. Not Dan's; scrupulously honest about what passes, what does not, and what you "might want to get fixed soon". Dan has earned my business for future repairs with their honesty.Service: Vehicle safety inspection
