My niece arranged for her wedding to be held in outside Charlottesville, in the gorgeous Virginia countryside. Considering the fact that we would need to travel to the wedding and related events, I searched for proper Bed and Breakfasts within a 20 min drive from the venue. Woodville met our requirements, in addition to the fact that they offered a separate cottage. The main house is stunning, complete with a beautiful library that is available to guests, and an inviting countryside property that was bursting with spring colors. Our hosts clearly put a great deal of love and perspiration into restoring and renovating the property to its current state. Stefan was quick to share some history about the building and the area, which added so much to our appreciation of the experience. In my opinion, the crowning glory was the breakfast. Homemade breads, jellies, gourmet omelets, all as fresh as could be and made with local ingredients! Scrumptious! The eggs were from their own flock, lovingly watched over by their super sweet if massive, fluffy Italian sheep dog named Marco. It was still a bit early in the season to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. We cannot recommend highly enough that you should find a reason to visit Stefan and Desiree. Thank you so much for a splendid stay. :-)Rooms: Neat, clean rooms with wonderfully comfortable beds.Nearby activities: Near to Monticello and James Monroe's Highland property, both of which have excellent trails in addition to their historical experiences. Half hour drive into Charlottesville.Food & drinks: Lots of local wineries and breweries to explore, but the breakfasts at Woodville are not to be understated. The homemade English muffins, Challah bread, and wine grape jellies were a highlight of our visit. They also have quite a local wine list, many of which are made with their own grapes.

An absolute gem of a place. First it s just close enough to town but still in the country. The house is so well kept and furnished. The bedrooms are large and have comfortable beds and the bathroom is well stocked with amenities. But the best part about it is the breakfast in the morning and the wine tasting at night. Stefan is an incredible chef and his wife makes delectable breads. The wine is lovely and unique and he made us a delicious charcuterie plate that we enjoyed during the tastings. Wine and food were served in the library with the fireplace burning. Perfection.

I just returned from one of the best vacations I've ever had and will definitely be returning to the Woodville B&B! It was beautiful, quiet, relaxing, comfortable, clean and the breakfasts were outstanding! Stefan was the most wonderful host, full of very entertaining stories. This place feels like a real home away from home and I miss it already. It could not have been a better experience. Perfection!Rooms: The room was very clean, very quiet and had an amazing view. The bed was extremely comfortable!Nearby activities: The location is within a very short drive from several wonderful vineyards and Charlottesville. Outstanding location for sure!Food & drinks: They offer a great wine tasting experience, from their delicious wines. Breakfast is plentiful and amazing!

We stayed at Woodville B&B while visiting the area for a wedding in Charlottesville. Everything was wonderful. We had a wine tasting of Woodville Vineyards wine and believe you me the wine was good! The breakfasts were also fantastic. Good home cooked food is much appreciated while traveling. The rooms and grounds were comfortable and immaculate.Food & drinks: Great food. Great wine. We took a few bottles home with us.

Woodville B&B is a gem! My wife and I loved it as this was our first ever B&B and it was everything we thought it would be. Stefan and Desiree were great hosts. Our room was very clean, as was the rest of the house. The property was gorgeous, including the vineyard, which was neat to walk through. They have three cute pups that are very friendly and two plump, but adorable pigs, Porter and Todd. Stefan had a wealth of knowledge about the history of the property that was very interesting. Every morning, they would make a fantastic breakfast using fresh ingredients that were from their garden or locally sourced. They even have eggs from their own chickens. They also provided a wonderful wine tasting to top it all off. I can't express how much we enjoyed staying here. We will be back!Nearby activities: Very close to a bunch on great vineyards. Within 30 minutes of downtown Charlottesville.

Woodville b&b is beyond my expectations. Stephan s breakfasts were yummy, fresh, and with creative elements; Desiree s bread was warm and tasty. Both of them were very nice. Their three dogs have different characteristics but all adorable.Food & drinks: The owners cook well. They produce wines. Some of them are excellent.

What an amazing place! Quiet, clean, very friendly, and accommodating. We came late at night due to traffic along the way. We came from 9 hours away. Stefan waited up for us, welcomed us and still gave us a mini tour of the house. Delicious breakfast every morning made with ingredients from their garden and fresh eggs from their chickens. Beautiful grounds and well maintained. They have a mini fridge which holds complimentary water and beverages in the common area to which you have access 24 hours a day. Stefan and Desiree were exceptional hosts at this incredible bed and breakfast. The views are so beautiful. We would definitely recommend staying here and are hoping to make another trip back their soon.

Stayed here for a weekend get-away in March 2023. Wonderful experience. Arrived late on a Friday and visited Monticello on Saturday. Top floor room was large and bed was comfortable. Breakfasts were farm fresh and DELICIOUS! Hosts lit the fireplace for us in the library for a cozy relaxing evening. Wish we could have stayed longer!Rooms: Large and comfy. Private baths.Food & drinks: Fabulous farm-fresh handmade breakfasts!

My husband and I stayed in the cottage. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was spacious & stocked with everything we needed. There was lots of natural light and pretty views. Stefan & Desiree were such wonderful hosts and gave us interesting information about the property & the area. We even bought a case of their wine to take home after enjoying some with our stay.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Woodville Bed and Breakfast! My husband and I celebrated our third anniversary over a long weekend exploring Charlottesville. This bed and breakfast is nestled only about 20 minutes from Charlottesville (which is a gorgeous drive) and even closer to Scottsville, yet you feel the peace and serenity of getting away from it all. The property has a vineyard, farm, gardens, stellar views, luxurious pool, and the most exquisite breakfast, all made in house veggies from the garden, eggs from the farm, fresh baked breads it s truly incredible! The interior is beautifully decorated and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Stephan and Desiree do a phenomenal job maintaining the property and ensuring their guests leave happy!! Can t recommend enough!

Wow, we Loved it! The house was spacious, clean and comfortable and the views of the gorgeous property made us feel like we were truly away from it all. I couldn't stop taking pictures. The breakfast was exceptional with local craftsman sausage, eggs from chickens on the property, stuffed French toast with house made preserves, quality coffee... everything and more than we expected. It was apparent that the owner had a background in culinary arts. Furnishings and art throughout the house were authentic and made the stay both welcoming and enjoyable to take in. The on-site vineyard set the perfect backdrop for a delicious complementary wine sampling of various reds and whites. Being just a short drive from downtown made dinner reservations and shop-walking a breeze and returning to relax in the very well stocked library with working fireplace couldn't have felt nicer. We travel frequently and seldom find the opportunity to say everything was perfect but it was exactly what we hoped for and can't wait to book again.

Stefan and Desiree were exceptional hosts at this incredible bed and breakfast (and vineyard). Breakfast was amazing every morning; made fresh with most of the ingredients from their garden and fresh eggs from their own chickens and with everything else sourced locally. We highly recommend staying here and would love to get back there again someday.

What a wonderful stay! My husband and I went on our first trip with our newborn and stayed at Woodville B&B and it exceeded our expectations. Beautiful property (the sunset over the vineyard was gorgeous), a tasty breakfast (stuffed French toast), and the nicest hosts! We stayed in the cottage which was clean, comfy, and had an amazing shower. We ll be visiting again!

3 days of Awesome accommodations! ! Stephane was so personable and a excellent gourmet chef; the breakfast was beyond our expectations and was just scrumptious, and Desirees -his wife s homemade bread was DELICIOUS! An the property and grounds were very well manicured. The 1882 home was clean and charming; my favorite spot was the huge front porch that overlooked the mountains and beautiful vineyards. And the Grand kids thoroughly enjoyed the huge pool.It will definitely be on our list to revisit.

We stayed here for a single night after a river trip, but found it so nice that I regretted not having more time. The property is beautifully cultivated, and the house is also lovely. We stayed in the Cedar Room- spacious and nicely decorated, with a large porch overlooking the vineyard. Great shower. The breakfast was ample and delicious. Stefan was a gracious host and fun to talk to.

Woodville Bed and Breakfast is a treasure. This was our first time staying at the inn, and we loved everything about it. Our room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and very spacious. The pool was spectacular, as were all the grounds. We enjoyed sitting on the expansive front porch each night to watch the sun set, exploring the property, and visiting the chickens, ducks and rescue pigs. The owners are wonderfully kind and generous and extremely knowledgeable about the area and its history as well as all the local wineries. And breakfast each morning was out of this world. We never wanted to leave and look forward to being back many times in the future. Our enormous thanks go to the inn's owners for their hospitality!

We don't really want you to know how excellent this B&B is because you'll only make it harder and more expensive for us to come back :) Truly this was an exceptionally great experience thanks to the efforts of Stefan and Desiree. The views are fantastic and the house is so cute and well-decorated. Don't sleep on the breakfast--even though it was a little early for us, the homemade and home-baked dishes are delightful, filling, and should not be missed. Dietary restrictions accommodated! The grounds and gardens are beautiful, the pool was an awesome amenity. We saw some fun farm animals: chickens, ducks, pigs, and a goose. We stayed in the cottage which is next to the main house and has a well-appointed kitchen and incredibly comfortable king bed; everything seemed in excellent condition and super clean. It's like having a vacation rental AND a b&b--best of both worlds. We will definitely return again!

Incredible experience! Nicest B&B I ve ever been to. Stefan and Desiree could not have been better hosts. The cottage was fantastic. Up to date amenities, spotless and the perfect size. The grounds were beautiful. Well manicured and exceptional views. The daily breakfast and coffee were amazing. Stefans past life as a professional in the food services industry shines through. We could not have had a better stay and cannot wait to come back!

The owners are very nice and are willing to tell you about the house, land, the 2 cute dogs, the pigs... comfortable, quiet rooms -we did not hear our neighbors or their TVs. This is located a bit away from town but close to several wineries. We chose a B&B as we were not looking for the hotel experience. Forgot to mention the views are great here and there is a swimming pool.

Beautifully restored home on beautiful property! We stayed in the cottage. It was completely remodeled inside and well stocked. Owner filled fridge with drinks and even brought a couple beers for my husband. The property is stunning. Huge old oak trees, gorgeous vineyard and views of mountains. We spent a lot of time at the pool which was extremely private area and had stocked pool house with towels, bathroom and shower. These hosts truly thought of everything. We watched the sunset from the nice porch of the cottage. The breakfast that was served was delicious. Stefan served summer fruit, fresh eggs from his chickens, and sliced and roasted vegetables from his garden with creative flavors. A treat. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing and host really cares you have a great stay. AMAZING place!

Such a great bed and breakfast close to Charlottesville and The Lodge & Barn at Mount Ida! The house is impeccably clean, the beds super comfy and the views are spectacular. We found this gem because it was close to the wedding venue we were attending, but we will come back to take advantage of such a beautiful property to unwind. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing. We experienced a delicious breakfast with most of the berries and veggies straight from their gardens. We hated to leave it was so nice!

I spent a weekend in the cottage with an old college friend of mine, as well as her husband and six year old son. The cottage was beautifully kept. It was clean, and very comfortable for four of us to stay. The cottage was equipped with towels, dishes, and a spice rack for cooking. Not that it's necessary to cook. The owners provided a delicious breakfast. The food was lovingly and skillfully prepared, and our personal needs and preferences were taken into account. The eggs were very fresh, as they were provided by their very own chickens on site. Stefan and Desiree are lovely people who really go the extra mile for their guests. We expressed an interest in the wines, and they provided us a bottle of wine made from home grown grapes in their very own vineyard. They were also very friendly and willing to join their guests for some quality conversation. The place is in a peaceful and scenic location, with the greenery seeming to stretch for miles. All in all, I would say it's an optimal vacation spot for anyone who needs some time away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.

My husband and I had the best time here. We are parents of a 1 year and old and 3 year old and to get away and truly relax is such an amazing gift. We enjoyed everything about Woodville. Our room was so clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking a beautiful Virginia landscape. Everything on the property is so well maintained and beautiful. The house was stocked with everything you might need and a very comfortable atmosphere with enough privacy but the owners are close enough if you need something and they are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was not sure I would like the B&B life but it was great! The food was delicious and Stefan is a great chef. We enjoyed every special part to our breakfast meals. The pool is lovely and the property is breathtaking. The moment your feet step out of the car and hit the gravel road you are in for a vacation that fills your soul with all the good things. Book it.. you won t regret it. We will back.

Stephan and Desiree were so gracious and accommodating from the very first phone call. The house itself was amazing. From the Library full of novels, history books, and old records, to the beautifully natural landscaped pool, it was so welcoming. Our hosts prepared awesome breads and breakfasts from local and on property fresh ingredients. Michele enjoyed wandering down and visiting with the ducks, chickens, and of course two pet pigs - Todd and Porter. We had such a wonderful time tucked away in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Michele also fell in love with their dog Willow, who stays hidden most of the time unless you coax her out. Sitting down on the Adirondack chairs by the vineyard and sipping on some locally procured wine and watching the sun set over the mountains was a great way to cap off an evening after visiting the local wineries. We have stayed at many B&B's from Maryland, Kentucky to Florida, and this was by far the best. Thank you for a great vacation.

This bed and breakfast is truly one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. Stefan and Desiree are amazing hosts. I have stayed in both the house and the cottage, both accommodations were 5 stars for me. The main house is stunning, the details of the architecture are so unique and it has such a welcoming feeling when you walk in. The cottage is so cozy and really feels like a little home. The breakfast is honestly better than most restaurants in NYC. Stefan is quite the chef and Desiree makes the best breads. The farm is so nice, the animals are such a pleasure to be around and the pool is so beautiful. This place is truly a piece of heaven on earth. I would recommend it to anyone I know!

TLDR: idyllic, relaxing and quintessential B&B experience. This place is the creme de la creme of B&B's. The proprietors Stefan and Desiree are warm, quite friendly and equally as thoughtful. The property itself is beautiful, the house historic with large, quaint rooms, and the food is delightful! Additional pluses include a lovely pool, a shared fridge to store leftovers, some very sweet pups and cute pigs that roam the property, and a picturesque vineyard with grapes that are distributed to local wineries! (Wisdom Oak - less than 20 minutes away - uses their grapes and all their products are nice.) Whether looking for a romantic weekend for two, a quiet country getaway, a place to stay near Rt. 151 and all the wineries, cideries and breweries the area has to offer, or all of the above... Woodville Bed and Breakfast is the place to be.

On a whim my daughter and I decided to find a place to stay overnight after a long day visiting friends in Staunton. The owners could not have been more welcoming and accommodating for our last minute reservation. Our room was large, beautiful, immaculate, and so comfortable. It was very apparent that a great deal of time and money has been invested to make this property so special. We loved sitting on our balcony looking out over the vineyard and watching the stars come out late in the evening. Breakfast was amazing and the coffee service in the dining room was wonderful. Would have loved to spend the afternoon reading in the library or on the huge porch or take a dip in the pool but unfortunately we had to leave the next morning. Although Woodville is a bit of a hike from the interstate it is well worth the drive.
