Stayed here while traveling through, only redeeming thing was the kind ladies at the front desk and the fact that the one in the morning did give me a discount due to many issues some of which others were in front of me saying the same. I woke up to a fire alarm in the morning (video attached) and it quit so we called the front desk on the room phone to see if it was a false alarm and the room phone didn t work. The shower had no hot water at all. Then after showering we couldn t dry our hair since the drier didn t work and wasn t mounted to the wall well either. Seems like upkeep is not a strong suit here! The sheets were soft though and room was clean! I hope they improve upon these issues. Also, make sure you get water! Most hotels leave two regular size bottles, not here! One drink sized bottles.

Had an old hotel smell to it, which was odd because it had a vinyl floor instead of carpet, and the bed didn't smell, and the walls and ceilings had been redone. Probably is was from the old bathroom fixtures and the old heater/AC.The room size and layout was fine, the biggest problem was the truck noise from US-58 is loud and constant. The bathroom was small, and outdated, and dirty. Sparse free breakfast choices, and the coffee is instant.

Stayed for one night while driving to Jersey. Room was ok. Upon checking in, the lady made me feel as if I was bothering her and the breakfast was so cold and tasted gross. I keep giving holiday inns a chance but they keep disappointing me. They never told me points expired so I lost 20,000 points, they said this hotel was under construction and nowhere did it say it was, the pumps for the bodywash and shampoo were busted. I didn't even want to look into if they even dust, and the tub wall was pealing.

We were traveling from Maine to Florida and wanted to stop for the night about half way in between. We arrived in Emporia after midnight, without a reservation. They were able to quickly accommodate us with a nice and affordable room. The Continental breakfast in the morning was great too. The staff was very friendly and helpful.Rooms: The room had 2 double beds, clean and nice.Food & drinks: Continental breakfast was great, with lots of choices.

I picked this hotel for a stop over since it had the highest reviews in the immediate area. In my opinion this is a solid 3 star hotel there is no way it should have above 4 stars. The rooms are old and dingy, the tub looked dirty and like it needed an update. The bedroom itself was clean but it was so dark and a bit outdated. When we checked in and asked for a crib the clerk at the desk was rude and told us to find housekeeping to ask them. Housekeeping did get us a mini crib.Gym is small one treadmill, one recumbent bike and one elliptical. Elliptical was broken. We would likely stay in a different town for a stop over next road trip as there wasn t much here and we didn t love the hotel.

Great location off exit 11...The entrance was nice, welcoming & inviting. Some of the art was pleasing to the eye.The check in staff at around 4pm, the tall stout (African American gentleman who adorned glasses; who was kind and warm, he has over 20 grandchildren, of course it's multiple sets of twins)... he was very helpful and friendly! The service was good. The rooms are extremely out dated- probably to be expected with the location. It's such a small town of 5k population. I don't know...The alarming part of my stay was:The room 320 door LOCK was broken. From the outside/inside, the room was accessible without a problem, the room lock wasn't functioning properly. Extremely bothersome w human trafficking being such a high alert crime activity in today's society....Sadly, I could ONLY feel safe/partially when locking the door from within with the bolt lock and the bar thing at the top. Meaning, when you leave out...Now, the outer door had chunks of chipped - missing pieces of wood near the locks as IF something unsafe occurred. As if it was kicked in or something was broken & the entryway was breached. It was alarming to say the least. It wasn't a comfortable stay after seeing it. Thank God for my other guests. Now, I did let that desk staff aware of the situation... she (African American short woman) didn't seem too much interested. She gave me the: OK (like yeah we know...) I reported it on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at around 6am - 6:30am. Just before having breakfast w my family before getting on the road!Other than that, IMPORTANT SAFETY concern...The stay was good.Hopefully, that door and lock gets REPAIRED soon.Management and Regional Management and whomever else should have the customer experience be a SAFE EXPERIENCE as well.

I am a soccer coach and booked a large number of rooms for an away game. Everything was ready when we arrived even though it was late. We had a couple problems and initially I wasn't too thrilled. However the front desk manager, Tina Green, promptly made adjustments that solved everything. So at this point I give this hotel five starts for great customer service! This hotel is a great value so I highly recommend it.

Great location right off of 95, room was clean and well serviced, front desk was friendly and helpful, breakfast area was fully supplied and offered a variety of fresh eggs, bacon, sausage as well as other items. Four stars only because the a/c in the room was quite loud and when it went on, it woke me up, then as soon as I got back to sleep it, would go off and the silence would also wake me up... the rain noise on my phone helped after three hours of this. I would suggest downloading a white noise app (or use Youtube) Other than that, we will likely use this location as a stopping point on our trips north/south on 95.Noteworthy details: Close to 95, easy off/on

STAY AWAYThis place is disgusting and dirty! Our room smelled like smoke being covered up with a highly ineffective and unpleasant smelling air freshener. Stains on the bedsheets, (one of the beds looked like the sheets were not changed) ring in the toilet bowl like it had not been cleaned in awhile. Shower smelled of mildew, hair in the shower, when you turn the shower handle it moves the entire plumbing unit and wall. Filth on the furniture (obviously has not been wiped down in a long time), refrigerator in room didn t work. Furniture was old, worn down and gross. Do NOT stay here.On top of the filth, we did not feel safe. Do yourself a favor and check out one of the newer hotels across the street.

My experience was totally positive from the front desk When checking in To the room being beautifully Clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was great with a huge selection. I had only one slight complaint they never Replace the burned out bulbs bulbs and lamps so it was a little dark in the room. Other than that everything was great and I will stay there again.

Stayed on October 8, 2022. That it is close to I-95 is about all it has going for it. The staff was nice but the room was musty. We paid $200 for the one (Saturday) night and were told that was a great rate for this place. It was by far the worse place we stayed in on our 10-day East Coast Road Trip. We stayed in a few other hotels (Hilton - not IHG) in this same price range ($200/night) that were all very good. We didn't stay for breakfast Sunday but it seemed that it is the reason many people choose to stay here. A clean, fresh-smelling room is more important to me than a free breakfast. I can say with certainty I'll be avoiding Emporia, VA on any future trips.

There were two empty beer cans on top of a tissue box in our bathroom when we arrived. Pillowcases had stains. Our room key didn t work at first, and guests down the hall had the same problem. We were happy to have a place to sleep, and the front desk guy was nice, but I ve been to much nicer Holiday Inn Expresses for less money. Way too much money for this room.

Easy to find, right off the interstate. Super friendly, helpful and attentive staff, both at night and in the morning. Had some maintenance issues with the room. The hot breakfast is really, just awful. Like eggs and sausage that are inedible. I do not fault the staff there. What corporate provides them is poor quality food, and it's clear they aren't given items to cook, but just heat up. Probably my last time at a Holiday Inn Express.

Terrible experience after a long day of traveling. We booked a room with a capacity of 6 online. I called to confirm the accommodations and the woman who answered the phone was very short and rude in tone, told me she was busy with a line and if I wanted to talk about my room I d have to call later. We continued to drive to the hotel and when we arrived she again greeted us incredibly unprofessionally and told us we would be in a king suite. Without enough beds for us and our 3 children. I explained we needed the room we booked as we had 5 people. She did not apologize or show any compassion. SheTold us to see if we could make the room work or leave. It was very late and we d been driving for 18 hours so we decided to stay rather than keep driving. We had to go to the desk three times asking for blankets and pillows. Each time she was rude and acted like we were inconveniencing her by staying there. The room was mediocre. Bed was not comfortable- even with a small five year old next to me the bed sagged to the middle. My other children had to share a tiny sofa bed that was stained and had no mattress protector. The lady only gave us a flat sheet and thin blanket for them and one pillow- so we had to take things from the king bed for them. Dirty grout and shampoo dispensers. Overall lackluster room for a high price. And the worst customer service experience ever. Would never recommend anyone stay here. Sharon should not be working in the hospitality industry. I ve never had a paid customer service professional speak to my family like she did. Absolutely inappropriate and rude. We tried to be so nice and pleasant because we understood it was busy and the day after Christmas. We too were tired and just looking for a clean place to sleep for a few hours, and were treated like a major inconvenience.
