Best place in the area to take a car for repair or maintenance. Matt is honest and hard working - he will never do work on a vehicle that isn't needed. Very reasonable pricing as well.

Matt is candid and honest. He admits what he can and can't do in clear manner and solved a problem (in 1 day) a Cville dealership couldn't in 3 days.Appointment booking couple weeks out but well worth it.

Called to inquire about receiving a service on my vehicle. Matt was dismissive of the repair and essentially could not be bothered to accept my business. As others have noted, Matt was unprofessional and rude with me. It's unfortunate this is the local Crozet repair shop because I normally would pay a premium to support a local small business. Looks like I'm going elsewhere!

Day Two on my second day at my brand new job in Crozet and my car tells me to pull over because my engine has overheated. I am a young woman who is a relatively new driver with no background knowledge of cars. This is the first car I have ever owned and to say I had no idea what to do was an understatement. I was able to have my car towed to Matt s Garage where he later left me a voicemail to say that I needed a replacement water pump. This was not even on my radar as my car only had 44,000 miles on it. He was able to find the replacement part and tell me the total for all parts, diagnostics and repair. They are closed this Monday for the holiday weekend and I have already missed a day of work because of not having transportation. Not only did Matt and his wife reach out to me in a timely and professional manner to let me know the details of my car, but he stayed past his 4:30 pm closing time to finish my car and make sure that I would have a fixed car to drive to work on Monday. This business goes above and beyond for its customers, know exactly what they are doing, and are going to charge a reasonable price too. I cannot say enough good things. Thanks again!

Matt has been our mechanic for the past 5 years. His history goes beyond Matt's Automotive as he worked for Warren James for many, many years prior to taking over the business. Matt offers professional, prompt service; he is very trustworthy and knowledgeable of an array of vehicles. We have taken our old Chevrolet, a Volvo and a Volkswagen to him and never had any issues after any work has been completed. I have been taking my vehicles to Matt for years. He is always professional, friendly and does great work! Sherrie is a wonderful and warm person, and always ready to help. The bad review 2 down from Ms Smith was from a foul mouthed person, who was extraordinarily rude and demanding. In fact, she was charged with disorderly conduct for her histrionic, foul mouthed, and out of control behavior. DO NOT HESITATE to take your car to Matt's. Great work. Great prices!

On a trip in Virginia my window got stuck down. Matt and his team had it fixed in under an hour and were honest about what I d have to do in the future to prevent it from happening again but couldn t do at the time due to our time constraints. Affordable, kind, and reliable people. Thank you sherry for your wonderful customer service as well.

Matt is a good, old fashioned auto specialist but with all the modern tools and technology. Extremely happy with his work and attention to detail. He takes the time to make alternative recommendations based on the customer's budget and time. Glad I found him and I'll be back for sure.

Very fair prices and did my inspection fast for me,I'm new to Virginia and learning that here is different than living in Texas and not knowing where to go for repairs or a good honest mechanic I think I've found one thanks Matt's automotive

My engine started overheating while I was driving 134 miles from my home. My options at that moment were either to tow my car home and repair it there or to repair it at the closest auto repair shop. Luckily, Matt's shop was only 4 miles from my location. The owner really knows his stuff and his confidence in his work and knowledge is noteworthy. He diagnosed my problem quickly, accurately, and confidently. His team replaced my water pump within 2 hours, where the average time for this job is 2.5 hours. Though the labor cost was a bit high for me, the diagnosis and solution of my problem by him and his team were impeccable.

I have been to Matt's Auto Repair on several occasions. Just about every time when I asked for things to be fixed I was criticized about taking cars to other places to get certain work done. The idea of not badmouthing his competition is the furthest thing from Matt's mind. Matt is a seasoned salesman and clearly knows how to make you feel like he is a last resort since you made mistakes taking your car to other less qualified people in town. Be careful because you are usually going to have to pay more money to Matt when the dust settles. My experience with his work on four or five occasions is that he tells he can fix your problems and invariably finds more things to do when for one reason or another the problems are not completely repaired. While the quality of work at times has been good, I have had to go back on several occasions to get things completely fixed with additional costs. It will take a week usually to get an appointment unless it's an emergency. If they can't fix it in one day you usually have to wait another six or seven days to get the next appointment. Buyer beware it's going to be expensive to get work done there.

This is the best place around the Charlottesville area to get repair work done. Timely, honest and high quality work are the reason Warren James has been in business so long. They are always busy, but they will fit you in. I was waiting for an inspection, multiple people were waiting for different services at the same time, and Monty stopped what he was doing to check a tire for an older woman who had a tire leak, even though he was thoroughly swamped on a Friday afternoon! This is a stand up place, the best auto service around! Truly professional!

Faster service than most. Bring cash. They will tell you specifically what is wrong with the vehicle and assist with solutions. I've been there about 5 times and never had any issues, price gouging, or rude people. Go in early, don't go in with a "rushed" attitude and you won't receive an attitude back. It isn't that complicated.

Matt does not stand behind his work! i had spark plugs replaced by Matt's Auto Service three months ago. I just had to have those plugs replaced by another garage last week. Matt refused to take ownership, and cover the expense of fixing what was clearly his responsibility. BEWARE!!!

We went with 3 drivers and everything was excellent
