I'm going to start by saying, nothing actually bad happened during my stay but this place left a lot to be desired. The first issue was breakfast. When I booked, it said breakfast was included. My first morning, there was no breakfast and I asked about it at the front desk and I was given a paper bag containing a granola bar, pudding cup, apple sauce (no spoon) those orange peanut butter crackers and a couple other things. When I ran out of coffee in my room, I had to ask for more even though housekeeping was in there every day.The property is extremely dated. I don't think the restaurant was open the entire time I was there. It's actually very unfortunate. This could be the best hotel in Covington if they spent some money on updating the property and put a little bit of effort into guest service.

This motel has deteriorated to the lowest possible standard and still keep its doors open. The rooms were not as promised and totally unacceptable. They would not reverse the charges on our credit cards even though the rooms were not as promised when we made the reservation. Judging by the sanitation (or lack of) and the other clients I'd prefer to sleep in a box on the street corner. Highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Made a reservation thru Expedia for 10-3-23 4 nites based on info and pictures on Expedia website. Got there after dark and checked in.Pulling around the corner were two broken down trucks on blocks. Continuing around the corner a bunch of people had the room furniture pulled out partying, grilling, beer. We couldn't find our room because the breezways are completely dark. Several guys yelling at each other so we didn't get out of our car. Immediately went back to the night clerk and turned in our keys. Told her what I saw and said this place in unsafe. I want a refund. They want to charge me one nite stay for late cancellation and to get Expedia to refund all of my charges Expedia absolutely no help! Motel charged us the entire amount saying we never checked in at all! This is fraud! Still fighting this. Wish I had looked at the Google reviews before booking this. Dont stay here if you valve your health!

The motel rooms wasn t all that bad. However house cleaning was very poor. My wallet had gotten stolen off the bench up front by the lobby & when I went and tried to get management to run the cameras back the clerk said he wasn t able too, That nobody would steal anything which blew my mind. If you have to stay here lock your things up & don t take your eyes off of them.

A nice hotel. They had clean beds and clean rooms. Friendly staff at the desk. They also have good rates.During my stay, they didn't have the restaurant open for breakfast. But they offered items from their shop instead.

This place is old, dirty and run down. We lasted about 10 minutes in the room before we couldn't take it anymore and got a room somewhere else. There was black stuff around the edge of the mattress, I'm not saying it was bedbugs but it wasn't worth the risk to me. Seems like if they just got covers for the mattresses, people wouldn't worry as much. The bathroom drain was rusty, the room smelled, there was mold and stains all over the sheers and curtains, the sheets had a stain, the floor looked gross, I definitely didn't step on the floor without shoes to see if it felt as gross as it felt. If we had paid $50 for the room, I'd get it but $133?? The "view" they talk about is only visible from the rooms on the back of the building and is not any more spectacular than what you see from the other hotels. The pictures they use are probably about 30 years old, it was definitely the same room at one point in time but no time recently. Please reconsider staying here, you're better off in your vehicle!!!

Places here by my company while I work nearby and found that they are not smart enough to have a large boiler or simply instant tankless hot water. If you come here expect COLD SHOWERS. The place has a so called restaurant bar that will keep you up at night because they allow loud music till late at night and of course you get to hear the fights and police show up. They need to decide bar or nice hotel. Staff seem to not be able to do anything because they say the owner makes all the rules and such. I'll never stay here again.Rooms: Clean but you could tell the top covers are never washed.Safety: Not safe

The rooms did not look like advertised, the pool was advertised as open, but was closed, and I have a 15 month old and requested a room withought neighbors if possible, but was pun next to the only other room rented on that direction with 6 people sharing a room. Customer service tried to help the situation, but it was just not as advertised.Rooms: The room was not cleaned and beds were not made. We arrived to our room in no state to see guests.

We stayed here years ago, nice hotel... Stayed here recently Good Lord do not waste your money! 2 nights 318.00 would not give us a refund or another room, our room had no phone, tv volume didn't work, says breakfast it's a bag lunch, I went down at 8am to get it for us the pink haired lady was f-ing at a customer. The next day a brown haired girl with glasses was there no breakfast they only make 10 bags first come first serve so no breakfast for us. What a joke... Then we were having trouble finding another place were going to extend our stay but wouldn't give us a discount or new room... The so went to Main Street to the Quality Inn they gave us a Suite with hot breakfast laundry was free and a discount for the way we were treated at this place 2 nights in a suite for 180.00 please do not waste your time here go straight to Quality Inn!

Our stay there was excellent, we arrived there about 9:00 PM on 8/14/2021 and they cleaned a room for us for our stay. I want to personally recognize Justin, and Michael for their outstanding service they provided us. The food and the service was outstanding, the chef came out to explain that they were out of corn beef but made my wife a Rachel that she said was very good, she also mentioned that the fried green tomatoes were outstanding. Overall we were both were very impressed with the whole staff and enjoyed our experience there.

Not worth the money AT ALL. Walked into the room to find a drink half finished on the table. The towels and wash clothes stained and smelled moldy and terrible. The bathtub dirty and the stopper broken. Hairs painted into the wall. Dust everywhere. We moved the bed and the floor wasn t even finished under it.. it was literally cement. Looks nothing like the pictures online and was completely disgusting. Will never recommend or go there again.

Very dirty. Hair in the sinks, water standing in the shower, beds appeared slept in. Immediately got a refund (though we were initially told we couldnt have one.) Was harassed by a large party of people drinking in the parking lot as we tried to leave. Pretty sure the manager was mingling with them. Very bad experience. It seems like this hotel once had a lot of character but its definitely not being managed well.

The only good thing about this place was the amazing customer service Mike provided us. Bed was ok for the one night we stayed but the hotel was sketchy. Lots of cigarette burns on the blankets and sheets, room wasn't clean all the way, and food sold in the lobby was expired. Not worth the $110 a night, more like $45 dollars a night. Smokers always in the hallways, staff included. Thanks for everything Mike, you are the only good in that Motel.

Our stay was atrocious. We booked the hotel online for $107, but when we arrived, we were charged $136. We were very upset and the front desk told us to call corporate. We promptly did and corporate was closed. Our room was horrific. The carpets were old and badly stained. The entire room smelled like smoke (it was listed as a non-smoking). The breakfast took a half-hour to arrive and was cold. The stay was terrible and we had nothing good to say about it.

Before I would stay there again I would sleep in my car, find an empty box under an overpass, or simply cuddle up in a ditch. We arrived at 7 pm for our reservation only to find the room was not yet ready. After an hour we were given the key to the room. It wasn't the group of people congregating loudly outside the room, or even the fact that the carpet was wet and sticky, it was the smell. What was that smell? It happened to be on a night with an event going on and so there were no other rooms available in the area in case you are wondering why we stayed at all.

The internet isn't just some toy anymore, it is a thing people need for their job, and just pretending that it is working when it is clearly not isn't acceptable. Telling me to try and catch Taco Bell's signal...isn't acceptable.Just fix it PLEASE! I will have to go elsewhere until it is fixed unfortunately, because I actually liked this place.

When I first read the reviews, I was really nervous that I was going to have a horrible stay but that wasn't the case. The people were nice and the breakfast was amazing. I think the only issue was that the room smelt a little like weed. Other than that, the beds were fine and bug free and there was plenty of room. Nice fridge and microwaves were in the rooms and I had a lovely stay. Thank you Magnuson Hotel.

I stayed 1 night due to snow around Feb of 2021. On the phone the manager told me they recently renovated and would put me in a new room, he went on to promote the free dinner voucher. First the voucher, it is can not be used the same day has check-in and expires in a week. So if you're staying 1 night you would have to come back the next evening for the free dinner. Now for the good stuff, 20 years ago I use to stay at this place when it was the BW. I can assure you the room I was in has not been renovated in those 20 years. I am usually pretty easy going on hotels but I honestly had to go to Walmart and buy some flip flops to take a shower. The smoke detector was missing and a bare plate on the wall.Lastly, this is not a hotel fault but if it is snowing be advised the county stores their road salt or ash behind the hotel. If they are treating the roads all you hear are back up alarms all night, take it from someone that slept on the top deck of an aircraft carrier for 6 years, the jet landing noise has nothing on those back up alarms.

Stayed a few nights for work. Rooms were nice but they need to redo a few things. Fridge didn't work and TV didn't work. I do give the few people that are working there they are doing the best they can to be so short staffed. They work very long days and work really hard to keep it running and help all they can. They did try to fix everything soon as I said something. So thank you to all that were working really hard to run the place. I give you guys 5 for the effort you are giving. To the owner please give those guys a raise they definitely deserve it

I'll give 5 stars because I had an extra nice experience. Convenient location, complimentary restaurant style breakfast, bar with pool tables, cornhole, DJ (liquor prices were a little steep). The cleanliness and upkeep of the room could be improved, I'd say it was 3.5 star quality, needs a makeover, the thoroughness of whether bedding is always changed out was questionable. Front desk was helpful and genuine on how our stay was, and whilst my overall rating would be a 4, I'm giving them a 5 star because they seem intent on improving the hotel and experience for their guests.

Don't stay here. Staff are rude or just ignore you. they didn't offer breakfast because of covid so they gave you a food voucher for pizza or to eat in the restaurant. That is another story..No one to seat you at a table. the place was seem dirty. some tables had linen on them some didn't. it smells of burnt vegetable oil in a fryer. we waited for a good 45 minutes to get our food all we had was a grilled cheese sandwich and a club sandwich. The customers that came in before us ended up leaving and not even got their food. When we came back Saturday evening we couldn't get in our room they had our key block and I have to get the guy at they front desk had to get us a new one. Then when I went to check out this morning and I wanted a receipt of our stay they said did u stay here. you are not in our records. Really I said. And they said you get a view of the mountains here was my view from our room.

Musty room due to leaky air conditioning unit. Room was clean. Tons of low-life yelling in the parking lot all hours of the night. No response from manager upon complaint. Price was low enough, but we worried about possible bed bugs because we were ichy and there was no mattress cover. Jury still out, we just got home. Pay the extra money for the nice hotel somewhere else. Not worth the coughing fit due to nicotine smell in the bedding and coming through the vent from the MANY smokers on all sides. The one star is for the housekeeper. We left her a tip. We will camp next time.

We stayed here this past weekend and the only thing good about our stay was the breakfast. We arrived late and received our 2 connecting rooms. When we got into the first room not only was it filthy, the light over the bathroom sink didn't work. I had to ask the front desk 3 times to replace the bulb and to clean our room. We have stayed here in the past, but it seems since the new ownership took over the place has gone way down hill. We weren't expecting a 5 star resort but for the prices they charge we do expect the rooms to be clean. Will be staying elsewhere from now on.

Charming local hotel with friendly staff Very convenient from the exit (go straight through the light) clean rooms with comfortable beds & beautiful views. The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. The food was fresh and extremely tasty. The breakfast was a full sit down vs. the bagels the chains offer.

Jade at front desk was very pleasant and made sure we had an appropriate room. We checked in on a Friday night without a reservation. The restaurant was very good - more than reasonable price and Renee was very friendly and helpful. The food was not outstanding, but was good and definitely made on the premises and plentiful so would eat there again. The room was a little heavy on the air freshener and was clean if not immaculate. The bed was comfortable, noise level not a problem, air conditioner worked well and internet was accessible without password issues. Will definitely stay there again.

The hotel was just okay for the price. They experienced a water leak and turned off the water for hours at a time without notifying guests - fishy. The breakfast program is very misleading because they make it out to seem like a free breakfast buffet, but it is only available when there are over 100 guests apparently? They give you a coupon to cover a breakfast meal on their menu instead. We found multiple bugs in our room as well. Also, the whole place reeks of cigarettes, especially the bar where patrons are allowed to smoke inside - YUCK! The bar is a nice facility but there is a cover charge and again, the smell of cigarettes is almost nauseating due to the amount of people smoking in the bar.

I don't even know where to begin with this hotel. First off breakfast isn't technically "free" if there are less than 100 guests in the hotel. They don't even open the breakfast bar when there are less than 100 guests in the hotel. They give you these little vouchers that give you $8 off breakfast at the diner. Which is pretty nice, but it still isn't "free" breakfast as much as it is a "subsidized" breakfast. Second off, THERE WAS NO WORKING WATER. It was awful and the main reason why I refuse to give this hotel more than a single star. They were experiencing a water leak and had to shut the water off for around 18 hours a day - and they didn't even tell the guests this until they asked! There were points where I had human waste sitting in my toilet for hours at a time. Third, there will be bugs in your room. Fourth, the bar has a $5 entry fee. It is a disgrace that this "hotel" can pass itself off as a hotel when I've stayed at Motel 6's better than this.

The room smelled like cigarettes, walls and door frames were filthy. Bed was clean, deff needs a DEEP CLEANING, fresh paint and lots of TLC. Could hear the LOUD music from the bar till 2 a.m. Apparently this occurs every Friday and Saturday night, so if your going to party, its GREAT. If not, do not choose this hotel. The staff onsite while checking in were very nice.

We were traveling all day and did not have a reservation. We were charged for 2 the price $134 for the night even using our aaa. The ac did not work, the bathroom door would not close and the artwork on the walls were removed. We received 2 breakfast vouchers. We went for breakfast at 715am. The restaurant had only one other table with customers. We ordered our food of eggs and after a 30minute wait we asked to have meals to go. We received them and they were so cold we threw them in the trash. The price for what we received was horrendous.
