I rarely give 5 stars. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The family enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the quiet. The breakfast lacked a little to be desired for the price, but over all I am well satisfied with the room and service at the Hampton Inn Covington Va.Rooms: Rooms are spacious and clean.

I gave this 2 stars at no fault of the employees. The room was nice and clean and the staff were great. The problem is the road noise. We were in a room at the very front of the hotel, and the noise from the road was horrible. There is a busy road that is uphill from the stoplight, so starting at 5 am trucks start ascending that hill and the roaring starts. If you stay here request a room farther from the front. Management, the only thing you can do is not rent out the rooms at the front of the hotel unless you have too.

Chose this location while still in West Virginia and was not what we expected for what we were charged.Wish they would have people smoke further from the entrance.Room was not as okay, but desk light had issues, fixed it myself. Bathroom had a leak at one point but they tried to do an easy fix.People running thru the hallways and fighting in the hallway in the middle of the night. If you are traveling with a blind person do not expect much when it comes to Braille signage. Room numbers and the sign about not using the elevator during a fire...rest are missing Braille.Woman setting in the eating area with her dog was bothersome since it was a pet, not an approved service dog. I was glad that I had my allergy medicine.Breakfast was good, was happy to see all the choices.

I am absolutely horrified by your customer service. My father booked and payed for a hotel stay for 3 rooms at this location. In our room we got woken up by bedbugs all in the room. Once we started taking off the covers and the bed skirt we realized that they had been treating for bedbugs. The manager admitted they knew that they had bed bugs in that room but they had been so busy that they needed to use the room. I had to leave our room at 1:30 in the morning with my 9 month old pay to wash and dry clothes so I don t bring it home. I did not get any sleep at all.It baffles me that they put guest in harms way by putting them in infested rooms. This is not okay!!!!

I rarely, if ever, write UNSOLICITED hotel reviews...I'm making an exception here. The hotel was ridiculously well-located; the room was clean, quiet, good pillows, plenty of space for suitcases; good towels in room; good breakfast + coffee, VERY friendly staff and perfectly appointed small fitness area and pool. In other words? The hotel has EVERYTHING necessary for a good stay.If I'm ever in the area? I would definitely choose this property. Very well-run and well-appointed.

Clean room and polite staff. Prices were a bit high for what you get, but it was a nice place to rest. If it were a bit more affordable I would highly recommend for a retreat or vacation.Nearby activities: There are some beautiful outlooks and rivers in the area as well as some wonderful hiking trails.Food & drinks: The breakfast bar in the morning is a nice treat and they also have food for sale at the front desk so you can eat withought leaving if you want to. Very well accommodated

The hotel is okay - nice. But it's pretty much got a monopoly on the non-flea pit hotel game in the area and reflects this in it's prices. We went out of season (March), booked in advance and still paid $250 a night.

Nothing to do in the area nowhere to shop except Walmart and very overpriced rooms!Rooms are nice enough if passing through for the night but for the price you get no room service no clean towels no clean sheets and very little amenities it is a town with zero attractions and multiple hotels you can find cheaper rates with better service if you're willing to sacrifice the fancy stucco on the outside honest to God been very disappointed with my experience here

We traveled from Florida to Covington to purchase a hotrod for my husband birthday. Everyone at the hotel was so helpful in assisting us with locating a restaurant, liquor store and other shopping establishments. We were so happy and felt safe at thus establishment. We will return in the future and stay again. Thanks

The easy to find hotel offers a majestic mountain view along with friendly service. The wall decor gave you a little glimpse into the area. A nice touch. This is a great place to stay, when visiting Douthat State parkOur room was clean and free of any odors.I love that their complimentary items are Neutrogena and I don't have to schlepp shampoo, lotion etc along - they even have makeup wipes. The towels were soft. It's those little things that make me happy. The hot spot (literally) in the morning was the waffle iron - it would be beneficial, if they could add a second one. Other items on the breakfast buffet included eggs, potatoes, muffins, fresh fruit, cereal oatmeal, bagels etc. Not bad!We enjoyed our stay.

I was skeptical about this place before arriving, based off reviews. But I'm glad to say it more than exceeded my expectations. Nice room, very clean, staff was amazing, breakfast was great! Very comfy beds and pillows in my King. Stayed for two days and enjoyed it! The free wifi was even good, didn't pay for the premium wifi. My only complaint, was of it not being very sound proof at all, and being so close to the highway and all the Trucks using Jake breaks and loud exhaust taking off, would bother some people, But didn't bother me.

My husband and I stayed overnight on a recent road trip. The hotel is new, so the decor is modern and it's still got that new hotel smell. It was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and included a nice variety of foods. We were a bit uncomfortable with the bathroom door. It was a barn style door (slid on an overhead track) that served as the closet door as well. Since it wasn't an actual door, there was a gap all the way around. It didn't provide as much privacy as we'd like. There was also quite a bit of highway noise during the night.

My family and I stayed at this hotel on our way to the outer banks. We liked to so much we booked it for our trip home as well. The hotel was very clean, modern, and comfortable. Friendly staff and great continental breakfast till 10am! The kids enjoyed the pool and my husband and I enjoyed sitting out on the patio by the fire table. They even had a complementary snack bag to take with us on the road when we left. I highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, this Hampton served its basic purpose for a weekend stay. The appearance was clean, kitchen area well presented, and the room was standard. For the Covington, VA area this hotel did what we needed it to.So, why the 3-star rating? This may be petty, but a 5-star is earned, is not given. The staff at the front desk didn't have the friendliness and helpfulness of other Hamptons, and the proximity to I-64 is disruptive. When asked about a 1-hour later check-out, we were just told "no" and "here's your room key," without any further discussion. We also weren't offered our complementary items as Hilton members. Check-out was very similar, with the front desk attendant just asking for the key and informing us that the receipt would be in our email. No offers to help with local area or have a good journey. Our room was on the I-64 side of the hotel; the close proximity to the highway produced loud road noise all night.
