I cannot say enough good things about this AAMCO location. I had previously taken my 2015 Kia Optima to a shop as it was having issues picking up speed. The first shop told me I needed a new transmission and the prices were outrages. After calling around, I brought my car to AAMCO, who immediately diagnosed the transmission issues and discussed options and pricing which was much less stressful than my first experience. I really appreciate not only how quick they were to get the work done but that they took the time to explain things to me... Thank you Matt, great job!

I had a great experience with this shop. I went to them to get a diagnostic on my transmission. The shop manager Sean was very transparent with me about the condition of my car & gave me all my options as to what I could do about it. I didn t feel like he was pressing me to pay for any unnecessary services. He broke everything down to me so that I can understand what the process would be and his pricing is very reasonable. As a result, I got a new transmission installed & oil change. My car is running like new. I will be coming back for future maintenance needs. 10/10 rating !!!

My transmission went out on my 2010 Ford Focus. I had it towed to the shop where the guys took good care of my car. I've had it back since Friday and it's been running great. The crew they have here are top notch in my opinion. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in getting my car back on the road.

My car was having issues and I was having issues locating a shop that could/would even check it out within the next week or two. I called this location and they told me to bring it in. I would leave them a 1000 star review if I could. Every single worker here went absolutely above and beyond to help and take care of us and were so reasonably priced it is insane. Go here if you need ANYTHING car related.

I was lucky because my car just made it to the AAMCO repair center and they were ableTo solve the problem. I showed up without an appointment but they were able to fit me in and get me back on the road.

I visited Aamco last Thursday on a whim because they took care of my mother's car. When I left work my air conditioning just stopped working. It's the middle of summer and no one should be without AC. So, I literally dropped in and asked if someone could look at it and tell me why it stopped and what we can do to fix it. The young man literally got up and checked my AC. He told me the issue, ordered the part needed from down the street. It took them 5min to bring the part and he immediately put it on my truck. It took no time, maybe an hour and I was back in cool air. Their customer service is unmatched. Pricing is reasonable as well. If you are in need of repairs look no further. They will definitely get you straight. I'll definitely be back for all my truck needs.Happy Customer Fee Jackson

We on a 30 day road trip from Arizona and while driving inVirginia the engine light lit up in our town & country van. We checked into a hotel in Chester. It was a Sunday and no Chrysler dealer in town so we went to Auto Zone for a diagnosis. The oil pressure sensor was out and it was recommended not to drive further. Auto Zone recommended AMMCO Chester which opened 8:00AM Monday. We anticipated days of waiting in the queue and were prepared to rent a car to continue planned visits with relatives before picking up a repaired van. We were at AAMCO's door by 7:45 Monday morning to be greeted by Bob the service tech who said yes he could fix the problem but needed to confirm by Brandon, his service advisor, who would be in shortly. THE CHESTER TEAM was amazing! They ordered the part which arrived in a half hour. We were shocked to have all work accomplished and we were back on the road by 10:00AM. We were overwhelmed with gratitude and recommend this SWH Automotive AAMCO deserves more than 5 stars. Thank you Bob and Brandon for the "above and beyond" help during our travels. June 2023

Made an appt. for my husband to take in my vehicle. The transmission maintenance & oil change went well, I suppose. I asked them on the phone about doing an inspection, they said they didn't inspections, but they would look over the vehicle & tell me if any repairs needed done to pass inspection. When my husband mentioned that, he said they looked @ him like he was crazy. Oh well. I guess if it needs repairs, I'll have someone do it.

I've been a customer for two different problems with my car and they've impressed both times. I had a broken wheel in November; they did a "good enough" fix to keep it running for a few days while a new part was shipped. Then last night, I had a breakdown due to an alternator failure and had to get it towed. I had a hunch that AAMCO would be a good place to fix it and they got it repaired with the keys back in my hand earlier this afternoon. I'm always sad at the prices of car parts these days but their prices are fair. The only nitpick I have is that despite their hours being listed as opening at 8:00 AM, I arrived before the first employee did at 8:30. Updating the opening time to 8:30 would be good.

Called around and spoke to a bunch of shops in the area......had a certain budget....being on a fixed income and such....manager Brandon was sensitive to what my exact price needs were.....He found a low mileage used PTU FWD for my 2009 Lincoln and replaced my faulty one at minimal cost. The thing rides like a new car now! I cannot thank this shop enough! The mechanic crew were ethnically diverse and skilled. They reflected America. This shop earned my business! God Bless America! Leaving a 5 star so this gets seen. DO NOT GO HERE. Worst experience I have ever had. Vavoline messed up my engine, and they brought it to AAMCO for repairs. The situation started mid- January. AAMCO had given originally given a 2 week time frame on the job. To make a long story short 2 weeks turned into 3 months. I didn t get my car back until April and was driving a rental during that time frame. AAMCO more specifically kept giving me the run around and would give me vague time frames as to when my car would be ready each time I called. It wasn t until I got irritated with them that they gave me answers. They were having difficulties locating a salvaged replacement engine. Which was why it was taking so long. Communication was terrible with them. So I eventually get my car back after much frustration. A week goes by and the engine light turns on. I bring it in 3 separate times. The third time they run a diagnostic and the camshaft sensor is what needs to be fixed. This was last Thursday when I brought it in. Brandon said he would order the part and call me later that day when he had ordered it. I did stress to him that this was time sensitive because I m starting a new job out of state and I m supposed to leave this Wednesday June 1st. So I asked if it would be ready Tuesday. He said it would be. He never gave me that call back. I called this morning and he said he would get back to me in the afternoon. I didn t hear back so I called again at 3pm and he said it would be ready tomorrow. I lost it a little bit. I told him that I had said Tuesday and that I m supposed to be leaving Wednesday for my new job. I was so mad I hung up the phone. I called a auto repair supply shop and they had the part in stock, so my thinking was get the part from there and get my car fixed. I called back and Brandon picked up I asked him if the part was specific or if it could be a general part. That was when he said it was less about the part and more about man power. They only had one tech in. I went off on him. Went over my past frustrations, and said that this basically the same thing over again. Lies, and poor communication. I said I just wanted my car to be fixed and to not have to deal with them again. Brandon was very rude back. He said I was the one who hung up on him (which I did, not my best moment) and that he was being very nice and didn t even have to do the work. Which again is a lie. The engine work I had done is covered by a warranty this is one of those things that is covered by the warranty. So now I am pressed for time and in a stressful situation because I am having to push back the time on my trip for my new job. Expectations on the worked to be done should be clear and honest. Brandon consistently lied to me, and changed his story. Very poor experience. Honestly I hate to play this card but I do feel like I am being taken advantage of because I am woman.Service: Engine repair

My daughter and I were driving from PA to FL when her check engine light started flashing and her Honda Fit shifted into limp mode. We saw a similar Aamco Google review from a couple years ago, so we stopped in. We met the tech, Kevin and the office manager Brandon. They were both very helpful. They diagnosed and fixed problem in a couple of hours and we were able to finish our trip. They were fair and knowledgeable. It was a great experience.Service: Engine repair

My clutch met it's end of life and I got it replaced here. Not only did they exceed my expectations in customer service by being extremely pleasant and easy to work with, but they took numerous steps to make sure that everything was done exactly right. They made sure I was completely in the loop the entire time they had my vehicle. They went the extra mile on every single step and I am beyond impressed with the work they did. I really just wish I could give them a proper rating by leaving them 7 stars to express those extra miles they went for me. 200 out of 10, I'll never recommend another place.

While on our way to myrtle beach from Manchester Md. my truck would not shift into gear. Good Sam's got us a tow truck with a very polite and knowledgeable driver. He thought it might be the grommet on the shift cable. No dealer could even look at the truck for 8 days. We called Sean Hayden at AAMCO and he said bring it in. His mechanic identified the problem as the shift lever and thankfully the part was available across the street at one of the dealers with the 8 day wait. I was back driving my truck within an hour for less than 65 bucks. Sean and his staff went out of their way to get me on the road again and my family and I greatly appreciate it. While there I watched them interact with other customers and potential customers in the highest professional manner. They were honest and sincere with everyone. I personally do highly recommend Sean and his staff. Currently I am enjoying my vacation with my family. THANK YOU SEAN!!!!

I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado with around 150000 miles, it started with what I thought was a miss come to find out it was a transmission. Called Aamco, they have a great friendly knowledgeable staff. They came and got my truck verified the transmission was shot, got a replacement ordered, and swapped out the old one. The new transmission has a 3 year 100000 mile warranty has been in my truck for a few months now and is performing perfectly. If you think you have a transmission problem call these guys they will get you fixed up.Service: Transmission

My experience with Brandon and Shawn was nothing short of incredible. They were extremely helpful in guiding me towards a wise decision regarding a squeaking noise coming from my van. Their friendliness and obvious integrity was refreshing. I would come back in a heartbeat (though I hope I don't have to for a little while...)

These guys are awesome and they don't try to steal your money or overprice you. I believe Sean is the owner and who I spoke with, he was super helpful and polite. I had to get my car towed. He gave me the tow info, told me what the problem could be and told me how much it would cost right then and there over the phone (which was about 20 minutes before closing). He called me to tell me my car was delivered safely to the shop (10 minutes after the shop had closed) he then called me the next morning to inform me of the problem and to ask if I was ok with the price before they began and they had it fixed before the end of that day closing. I believe I found my new go to guys if I have car problems

Traveling from Philadelphia to Savannah had battery trouble. Every place we called were booked. When we called AAMCO Brandon was so kind, helpful and took us right away and we were on our way in less than an hour. Had one of my vehicles in a Car accident. The vehicle was towed to this establishment incorrectly (needed it to be towed to a body shop). Brandon was super professional and helpful by taking his time out of his day to provide pictures and even went to the extent of holding onto the key for me. Again I didn't do any business here so there was no true incentive for him to do that other than true professionalism. Thank you Brandon it was much appreciated. Wish the business well and yourself Sir.

My family and I moved to the area last year and did not know where to go for vehicle issues. We took a chance on this shop. We are so lucky to have found an honest, reliable, and friendly service shop. It felt like taking my car into my brother's auto shop.We have taken our vehicle to Sean at Aamco twice. Each time the repair and service was done quickly and very reasonably priced. We are not going to any one else for repairs and vehicle advice. The location is very convenient on Jefferson Davis Highway.

Brendan and technicians installed a rebuilt transmission and converter in my 2015 Silverado. Everything is perfect and got more help than I could have imagined. Sean H. (manager) was extremely helpful and kind. I thought my vehicle was in need of a new transmission, but luckily through the skilled expertise of Sean and his team, they determined that I only needed a new radiator, antifreeze and transmission fluid. It is refreshing to find an auto repair shop that's fair and honest and timely with repairs. I would definitely recommend AAMCO in Chester, VA to friends and family.

As Mondays would go, the transmission in my wife's 2003 Acura TL suddenly decided to give up the ghost on her way to work. Caught clearly off-guard, I searched for some shops that could work with me and inform me of my options. I recalled someone mentioning having their transmission serviced at this Aamco location and did a quick internet search for reviews of the shop. To my suprise, all the reviews were glowingly positive! I decided to give them a try and sure enough, all those other reviews were correct. Sean answered the phone and was immediately friendly and attentive to my needs. I had the vehicle towed to his location and they performed a thorough diagnostic of my vehicle. The part that really exceeded my expectations, however, was how detailed and patient Sean was while explaining to me the diagnostic process, results, and our options moving forward. I felt that he looked at me as more than just a number and genuinely understood the plight of being caught off-guard with a costly automobile repair. He was patient while my wife and I took a few days to carefully consider our options. Ultimately, we've decided not to invest more money into our ageing Acura and to purchase another used vehicle instead. However, because of Sean's excellent customer service- I did not yet experienced the service of the other technicians there, but I would take the other reviewers' word for it- I will definitely take my other vehicles (including our "new" one) to this shop from now on. Aamco Chester, you've just gotten yourselves a new customer!

I truly lucked out. I was driving from Pennsylvania to Florida when my vehicle started driving poorly. It was 10pm and I found myself broke down in a town where I knew no one. I did a Google search and found this aamco in town. I was able to get my vehicle there so I parked and waited for them to open. I met Sean and he had Tommy the mechanic come check my vehicle. They figured out the problem, explained it to me, ordered the part and had my car fixed and me back in the road within a few hours. They were thorough and so nice. They went above and beyond for me. When I left, I was confident in my car. I was fortunate that as a woman driving alone out of my element, that I came across this honest, professional group. Thank you Sean and Tommy for taking such good care of me and my car. I will talk about this experience for years you come.
