Watch out for this Southern car on interstate 64 East in New Kent. He ran us off the road then was weaving through traffic at over 100mph, very dangerous! Jan 27th at 430pm

Southern Auto Group purchased the Hall Ram dealership on Western Branch Blvd. I took my 2019 Ram in to diagnose an issue with the ECPM module and they said they couldn't get me in that day, so we scheduled an appointment for 2 days later at 8am. I dropped the truck off that morning, and the lady at the service desk informed me that it may not be done that day. What??? Just to do a diagnostic test? She said it may be a couple of days. So while I was there, I asked who the General Manager is and was told it's Paul Trace. I got his number since he wasn't in yet and called him after I got back to work. I called and left a message asking him to call me.He called me back and I explained that as a business owner, I need a working vehicle and can't afford to leave it there for days just for a diagnostic. He said he understood and would check on it.He called me back and informed me that he talked with the service manager and the techs and apparently they lost a service tech and are short handed, and would not be able to do the diagnostic today (Friday). He said the best they could do would be Monday. Seriously? I asked him why would they schedule an appointment if they can't do the work during the day of the appointment? Why didn't they schedule it for Monday to begin with??The dealership itself is a beautiful building. But unfortunately, the Service department is terribly managed and understaffed. I told the GM I would get my truck back today and take it elsewhere. Never again.Oh, and the sad thing is, Southern Auto Group has a sign by the door that says "We look forward to continuing to serve your needs with the same great products, services and dedication!"Really? Maybe you need to go down the street and hire the help from Chick Fil A, they know a lot more about customer service.

This dealership is full of crooks. It took them 2 months to finalize my purchase, and I'm still waiting for the refund of my deposit they never applied to my purchase. I've been told several times they are sending it, and now, for the past month and half, I've gotten no response from the manager about my refund. Do not buy from them I would never purchase from this company again and you shouldn't either...... update 3/8/24 still no call from anyone. Love how they post like they care and are going to make things right. Run away from this dealership bunch of crooks and liars.

My fist time buying a car from a dealership and it was the worst experience of my life. Had me sit there for 12 hours just to sell my car after I leave!! So unprofessional. They definitely serve who they want to serve. They didn t want my money I guess.

Dealership are full of liars and crooks. I listed a bad review and told the truth about how they treat customers. They responded with we care and will be reaching out to get this resolved over a week ago not a single call , email text message nothing they don't care once they have your money. You don't matter anymore. I would suggest buying somewhere else even if it cost more money. Still waiting on a refund of my deposit that wasn't applied to my purchase and was told more than once that it was being issued. It had been 4 months no refund they just took the money as of it was a bonus .

I bought a 2023 Tucson in May. I'm not savvy with computers especially on autos. I stopped by this afternoon and Chris Clifton came to my rescue. He was so kind. He said he d show me how to do it. He did and it was simple - I will probably remember.Thank You, Chris. . Anne

11/21/23Typical canned response from SAG. See attached photo of sales sheet presented to me.****************************"Buy a vehicle somewhere else"This review is specifically for the Southern Auto Liquidation Center off of Military Highway, and the salesperson named 'Moose' as well as the follow up from another SA location. (during the end of October and early November 2023)There was a used vehicle (2010 or 2011Kia) my son and I were looking at. Moose came out to introduce himself and we had a brief discussion about the price. He says that all used vehicles have Etching and Lojack added and that those add-ins were NOT negotiable and REQUIRED by the dealership. No thanks; those add-ins added up to almost $1,200 on top of the vehicle price (which is already high because it's still a seller's market). If a dealership does business this way, RUN AWAY!--- Etching ($599): you can find a kit for $20 on Amazon and some police stations may do it for free--- Lojack ($699): if it can be installed, it CAN be uninstalledI then found a 2010 Honda Accord and it happened to be at the SA liquidation center as well (so I wanted to see how they would handle this one). I spoke to a rep on the phone and she sent a sales-sheet to me for review, and it had the following add-ins:1) Etching $499 (as you see from above, Moose said it was $599 for the Kia)2) Lojack $6993) Commodore Pkg $995 (this is a paint and fabric protection) (and for a 2010 vehicle???)I countered on the Accord (and also asked them to remove the add-in costs), and they agreed to remove them. Surprise, those costs ARE negotiable! But in the end, they were asking too much for the vehicle. So based on this experience, you can see it wasn't just 'Moose'. It's the way Southern Auto Group does business. The way they do business just reinforces the long-held perception that car dealers are not honest and/or fair. It's a WIN-LOSE way of doing business, and the customer will lose every time.Is the inclusion of those add-ins predatory? On some level, I believe it is. If it's presented as 'REQUIRED' by the salesperson, a lot of folks would just accept it.I'm not against profit at all. It's why businesses exist. A 'reasonable' profit is totally acceptable, but Southern Auto Group is unreasonable.Shop somewhere else for a vehicle. There are much better places and better business cultures to work with.

Southern Buick and Kia I do not recommend. They are terrible they would not even look at the car because it was towed in. They said it would be a minimum of 3 months before they could even look at it and do a diagnostic. Kia is the worst ever do not buy a Kia. They are dealing with engine problems Turbo problems transmission problems I do not recommend a Kia at all. And I do not recommend Southern Kia at all they are terrible just terrible people

Just bought my favorite girl a new 2021 Kia Forte from MARK DAVIES!!! Thanks for helping me find the perfect car for her. I appreciate you making her feel like a VIP. You took the time to explain ALL the things to her so she would feel comfortable since she is new to the whole car buying process. This makes my Momma heart happy to see her smile so big! 10 out of 10 definitely recommend! If you need a fantastic salesman, he s your guy! This is the 2nd vehicle I ve bought from him!

As you park your car, someone comes out to assist you if needed. We had been to 2 dealerships ahead of this one, walked whole parking lot and had to go inside to get any help.

Let me start by saying this was the best car buying experience I ve ever had. This is really the place to go. If you re looking to purchase a car, I worked with Sabrina who helped me immensely. I did not think I would be able to purchase a car, but Sabrina went above and beyond to make sure the job got done. so much passion and patience. She really did the damn thing. Highly recommend her. then once I got approved in closing out the deal, Frank in finances was top-tier. he was super nice and made sure I knew everything I needed to know. He definitely made sure I walked away. Nothing but satisfied. My experience was a 10/10 , all the staff were great lots of hospitality in there. super happy and satisfied with my new purchase.

Is there a way to give zero stars? My husband and I bought a car from here about 8 months ago and just found out recently that the actual sticker price was WAY lower than what they marked it up too. This dealership uses sleazy sales tactics that are dishonest, untrustworthy, untruthful, sneaky, and 100% designed to F you over in the end for them to make money. Don t trust them. Don t ever do business here.

This is happened at the southern used car lot in chesapeake off of military highway. I did not end up perchasing a vehicle there the reason was deceptive advertised pricing practices. They had a used car that was listed 16,699 online same price on a big sign on the car. After a test drive I sit down to buy and it went up to over 23,000 reasons given 1,000 for have been pre approved already I did not need financing also they added options that are forced on to the sale that can not be removed. such as lojack, paint protection and interior stain protection. they will not remove them or at least for me they would not. I can not say dont buy a car from here because at least they were up front about how they was going to take my money. I did buy from first team subaru norfolk and they gave me a doctored car report to hid the fact that it had previously been in an accident and the bottom has fallen off 3 times leaving me stranded also trying to make me pay for repairs. Now I have to hire a lawyer and have an unsafe car to drive. So just know if you buy from southern they will be upfront on how they will take your money just know that price on the car and online is not the true price. It still will be better to buy from here then first team where they will sale you a car that will cost you money and could cause you injury

They did a bit better getting my suv inspected. It took 2 hours instead of 3 hours or all day. I need a hose replaced. They quoted me $899.00 for this. My husband knows car stuff. The piece I need cost no more than $40,00. Thank goodness, because dealers take 110% advantage of their customers. Shameful.

Great experience all around and was treated fairly during the whole buying process! James Simmons our sale rep did a great job negotiating a great deal for us and Frank hooked us up with a great platinum warranty for the vehicle.

Kept getting the run around. Clearly not customer service oriented at all. Called and spoke with Trina, was told she would have a sales person call me back to further discuss the vehicle I was interested in. Several hours later I called back and spoke with Brandon, was told Trina assigned me to herself and had left for the day, but he would have someone call me back, nothing. Called back a couple days later and spoke to Marissa, told her nobody called me back several times and was sent to voice-mail, now website shows my vehicle sold. Just wow.

Another large auto sales conglomerate with high overhead. My major complaint is this: Once the deal was done on a very specific used car i wanted, I accepted an extended warranty knowing that after driving the car for a while I could cancel within 30 days to get my $500 deposit refunded. I did decide to cancel the warranty within the 30 days. That was 3 months ago and Jay Gurganus, Finance Mgr has been giving me the run around ever since. A bunch of calls to him and I'm still waiting.

Don't be drawn in by the prices this company shows on the website. When you actually go to buy the car you get hit with almost $1,500 of 'extra' costs you weren't expecting including almost $800 of 'transfer fees' and then hundreds of dollars for the wax coating they apply to the car, which you aren't allowed to buy the car without, and can't choose to avoid. My advice - go to Carmax where there are no hidden fees and the price is the price.

From time to time, something really baffles me, but it has been a long time since anything has baffled me as much as Southern Auto Group's 4.4 Google rating. Maybe some of the $ from the "optional" add-ons (that are added on without giving you an option) is allocated for paid reviews?I did not purchase a vehicle from Southern, and neither should you. My experience happened to be at Southern VW, and it was simply awful. It's amazing to me, that here we are in 2023, and some dealerships still operate in the sheisty manner that consumers had to endure decades ago. A vehicle advertised for under 25K all of a sudden becomes 32K. Yes, tax/title/tags/ processing fee, we all know that's part of the deal, but almost 5K in "options" automatically added? Then to find out that some of those optional add-ons aren't actually optional. Oh, but they're one of the few dealerships that will still negotiate with you on the price of the vehicle they say- well, actually, no.A ridiculously annoying experience all around. Do yourself a favor and simply do not go there. I recently purchased a vehicle for myself and for my daughter, and every other dealership I visited was a thousand times more pleasant and reasonable than dealing with Southern.Somehow they've managed to stay afloat- and somehow they manage a 4.4 Google rating. The world's full of mysteries I suppose.

After contacting the BBB I was finally contacted by Mike Owen. We agreed on a refund amount. I was to pick it up Monday morning, Mike was to call to follow up, yet I am here at his office and he is not! I cannot keep missing work etc making time for a company that clearly doesn t value customers. I wouldn t recommend Southern if my life depended on it.Simply following up could prevent so much bs

Did a KBB value my car and it came back at 29k and it linked me to Southern. When I went in they only offered me 25k and then tried to sell me a truck for 68k when on the website it was listed at 51k. Then they totally disregarded my budget. They kept trying to push me into a truck that was 200 over my budget. Totally disappointed with the over visit to this dealership.

Thank you BENNY for helping me purchasemy very first brand new car a 2020 Jeep Cherokee!! Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere! Benny is awesome, he explained everything to me and made sure I understood! I came in there alone, and he never tried to push any unnecessary products on me or treat me as if I didn t know anything and I appreciate that. I definitely will tell all my friends and family, if they want a new vehicle go to Southern Greenbrier! Also the general manager was awesome as well( I can t remember his name but he was great) just a great group of professionals to work with! Thanks Southern
