I have an 02 7.3 excursion. Joe and the team at PPR have kept this truck serviced and upgraded for me. I have been from Virginia Beach to Washington State, New Hampshire to Indiana and now out to Oregon. The truck runs smooth, strong and cool. Joe offered to pay for any fix on any of the work that he did if the truck were to leave me stranded since I travel all over the US. That was very reassuring. THANK YOU JOE and PPR!

Powerstroke performance is hands down the best diesel repair shop in Hampton roads that I've done business with and that includes multiple Ford dealerships. Joe is a very professional diesel mechanic who provides excellent service. Within minutes of sharing the fuel issue I was having with my 6.7 Powerstroke, he was able to pinpoint the problem. My truck was repaired faster than I expected for a very reasonable price. Powerstroke performance is now my go to shop for whatever future issues I may have with my truck. Thanks again Joe for taking care of me.

Not one to sit down on my phone and write reviews, but these guys deserved one. Had my fianc drop off my truck while I was on deployment for some work I knew it needed. They found a few other deficiencies and notified me and asked if I wanted to fix them. I had them repair everything they found wrong. Got home from deployment and the truck was driving like a dream. Noticed a few oil drops on my driveway a few weeks after getting home and tracked it back to one of the injectors. Took it back to this awesome shop and they had me fixed on a short deadline so I could make a camping trip we had planned. A few days later my turbo went out (unrelated repair), called them up again and they had my truck fixed and back in my hands within a few days. Did I spend a decent amount of money? Yes. Everyone who wants to own a diesel should be prepared for big shop bills when something breaks, but if you take it to these guys for repairs and take care of your investment, it ll last awhile. The tech (I believe his name was joe) was super thorough in explaining to me what was going on with my repair and the nature of my 2011 powerstroke and it s components that have a higher fail tendency. He even showed me the old parts he ripped off and where they were failing at. He also took time out of his day on a Saturday when they are usually closed to help diagnose my faulty turbo. Honestly can t say enough good things about these guys. I didn t read previous reviews but I m assuming if someone wrote a bad review it s because they couldn t afford the upkeep and the hard truth. As long as I live in Virginia Beach this will be where my truck gets worked on and serviced.

Joe takes care of the trucks and his customers. I often have to communicate and bring the truck when my spouse is traveling so I m thankful Joe is patient and thorough in his explanations of repairs. We live out of state but still drive hours to bring the truck back for service.

Great customer service, very knowledgeable staff. I had brought a vehicle in for an abnormal noise that just developed but felt confident after getting the feedback that the vehicle was in good shape. I ended up getting an oil change and transmission fluid flush and filter change. Feel confident with driving the truck now for another bunch of miles before it needs anything else. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area for service.

This is hands-down the best Ford Diesel customization and repair shop in Hampton Roads/Tri-Citi Area, maybe even in all of VA, period. Joe is a master in his field, knowledgeable, professional, his pricing is fair, and no bs. He's gotten our truck running beautifully when trying to keep an F250 6.4L maintained has presented significant challenges due to the make, yr and model (IYKYK). Our first experience with PPR, a sensor went out the day we were supposed to hit the road for 800 miles. He got us straight same day. That was years ago. And he's consistently come through for us on even bigger repairs to this day. Wouldn't trust our truck w any one else. If you want the work done right, this is the shop.

Delt with Joe, Really straightforward and good guy that runs a busy good business. He was able to take care of me as soon as he could and repaired my body bushings. Been driving on them for months now and I have to say that I am very pleased. Fair on price.I'd give him at least 1.5 to 2 weeks because he is in high demand right now.How do I get VIP here? Love to get more work done on my F250.- Matthew L.

I can't thank Joe, or his team, enough. We were to hit the road to Illinois when my tuned F250 broke down the day we were supposed to leave VA. He made sure that I could find someone to tow my truck to his shop (Custom Towing & Recovery, also very helpful and quick!). Joe diagnosed and fixed the truck - same day - and we made it back home to Illinois in time for my family and I to be back at home, school & work with no delays. He didn't have to accept to repair the truck as quickly as he did, but he understood the situation we were in, helped, and in so doing, ensured that all ended well for us. We're home safe, no issues with the truck during the 17-hour trip, and we're truly grateful for his skills and care. If you're looking for a pure professional with the best in customer service for your truck, look no further - Powerstroke Performance & Repairs is where you need to take your truck. ( Thanks to Chris too for being on the ball and communicating with us with no delays as well! ) Y'all are awesome.

I came into the shop to get an EGR delete done to my truck, when I got the truck back, everything seemed great but there was a small mix up in the parts I wanted installed on the truck. I called Joe a few days later to address the mix up in parts, and he was quick to fix the issue and make it right. I brought back my truck and he installed the correct parts and had me in and out of his shop in less than 30 minutes. I have to hand it to Joe and his team. They did a fantastic job on my truck and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend this shop for any work you need done to your truck.

Brought in my 03 F-350 6.0L for a bulletproofing. Talked to Joe, Chris, and Jeremy about options that fit my budget, all three were extremely helpful and gave me a thorough education on the best options. Jeremy was the tech who did the work, heads rebuilt and O ringed, studs, oil cooler, EGR delete, bulletproof water pump and mechanical fan, custom tunes etc. Job was a little over a week start to finish. It s like a new truck! Runs amazing and the crew was awesome through the whole process. It s a lot of money to spend but these guys made sure it was done right and made sure I was satisfied. I have no doubt that if I had any issues Joe would do everything he could to make it right. Awesome shop! Don t hesitate to bring your rig down if you want quality and fair treatment. Thanks boys!

This place is gods gift to 6.0 s. I was down bad with some issues that I couldn t do myself in the ole driveway. PP&R got my truck in fast, communicated with me the whole time and advised me on what needed fixing. Not once did they try and upsale me or push parts or repairs. They gave me A QUALITY PRICE and the process was straightforward. I will absolutely be taking my rig back there in the near future for continued maintenance and work. Highly recommend if you re in the VA Beach/Chesapeake area.

I think this place would be a 5 star location like other reviews state but in my experience it has an issue with scheduling. What I loved:1. They do amazing / quality work2. Knowledgeable and can explain things to people without making them feel stupid for not knowing everything about trucks / engines.3. They are priced fairlyWhat I didn't:Scheduling:If you setup a day to come in to diagnose something take note on how long that wait is. They will reschedule your truck to perform that fix in that amount of time. It took over 6 business days to get my fuel pump replaced after a week of waiting to get it diagnosed. On my next trip, I just wanted my suspension replaced and specifically asked to be in and out in one day. They said no problem and gave me an appointment. It took an extra day this time and again it was just them having scheduling issues.Overall I would go here again, just be aware of their scheduling and be assertive in when you need it back.

I couldn t be more happy with the work Joe and the guys at PPR do. With my dad being a mechanic back in my home state, I ve honestly always been skeptical about other mechanics, but ever since the first time I took my truck into their shop, I knew I made the right decision.I ve been going there ever since I got my truck over 3 years ago and have never had a problem with any of the work that has been done to my truck (2012 Ford 6.7L) (including an aftermarket turbo upgrade over factory and some other go fast goodies that I had just got put on within the last few days).Joe and the guys that work there are very knowledgeable on all of the Ford Powerstrokes and are quick to respond if you have any questions about any of the engines, as well as questions to just about anything else diesel related. If something does arise while they re working on your truck, they re quick to call/email and let you know what the problem is and offer different options/solutions to whatever the problem may be and are quick to fix it.If you own any Ford Powerstroke, I really do recommend taking your truck to Joe and the guys are PPR. Best diesel mechanics I ve gotten to know and I'll be taking my truck to them for as long as I live in VA.

Best Decision you can make!!! I researched shops for over 14 months before I chose PP&R. I decided to make a major investment in my 2008 F450 6.4 PSD. Joe was exceptionally patient with my questions. He took the time to walk me through everything I was considering which helped me finalize my plans and budget. Joe's communication with me during the work was EXCELLENT, thorough and very responsive. There were no bad surprizes with Joe. Lots of folks will tell you not to put money into a 6.4 PSD. Those folks have not met this Master Mechanic. Joe and Chris have earned my business and loyalty. Let Joe heal what ford couldn't get right. Great work team PP&R!

Took my Excursion 6.0 there a few months ago right after I purchased it to have them do a total vehicle inspection. They gave me a list of a few things it needed to include bed plate seals (oil leak) and some other minor things. My main concern was the reliability of the truck so I had them install a gauge/tuner so I could monitor the important numbers on these finicky motors. They gave the truck a clean bill of health with the exception of the noted repairs which they couldn't accommodate doing in a timely manner and I needed the truck back. Within a day or two of leaving, I was driving around and could see that my engine oil temp. was hitting 230 degrees and was 30+ degrees out of spec compared to my coolant temp which is a problem with these trucks. My engine oil cooler was clogged and needed to be replaced. I called them back a few days later to follow up and see what would need to happen to fix it and get the truck right. I was told I'd get a call back which never came. I took it to Twisted Diesel and was very pleased with their service.

Joe and his team took on my 1996 f-350 farm truck that had sat in a field for 6-7 years. The old exhaust system laying on the shop floor was covered in dirt dobber nests. They replaced the entire fuel system from tank to injectors and a few other upgrades along the way. I must say that they new what i wanted and provided just that. They know their stuff and brought true powerstroke performance to this old truck. many thanks to the crew

Buyer beware just got took, robbed in broad daylight from these people, had my truck for MONTHS and had to bring it back three times. More to come! taking them to court and for the first time in my 48 years on this earth I am going to make an official complaint to the proper agency to save others from going through this nightmare. Drove the truck 22 miles today leaving there and AGAIN truck is still running hot as was mentioned to them on the list of original problems and now the power steering and brakes aren't right. Whole job started out as "you need a fuel pump that'll run ya about 1600 if we put in a high performance pump" after arguing back and forth with his cashier guy they finally agreed that 'Ford' actually made decent parts, after months of this back and forth replacing things I didn't need and with a grand total of almost 20,000.00 with stuff they put on there and parts i supplied just to make sure i was indeed getting factory parts my truck still runs hot, smells like a grease pit, power steering and brakes are messed up, needs a front end alignment because I'm assuming they forgot or just dont do that when they replace ball joints (which i did approve of) I have a starter from a different type motor that they tried to slide on a bill for me to pay after they burnt my BRAND new one priming two injectors that didnt need replacing. Best part was the first day they called and told me i needed to buy new batteries because mine were no good, th ey were 850 cca batteries a little over 3 months old from Ford Motorcraft, The guy joe said he was sorry because he only charged them for a couple of hours. So after 'I ' the customer had to tell them to disconnect the two batteries from one another and charge them for a minimum of 24 hrs, low and behold they worked and even after 'months' at his shop they still work. The truck sat for so long out in the sun in one position the emblem on my grill has faded and the paint on my hood is cracking in little spider webs, there's a gouge in one of my rims so bad its throwing the tire out of balance. Oh here's the best part....... I have picked up my truck from this place when its 'ready and good to go' (per them) multiple times and for MONTHS, I had to a couple of times bring it back during the test drive, have it towed back, or drive it back myself while driving it only 25 miles or less. Today I pick my truck up and they want another $6537.00 and i told them i want to drive it and look over the bill so i make sure I'm not paying for work I've already paid for and I want to make sure the truck is right because they just havent had a good track record (with my truck) so for some reason today (friday payday i'm assuming) that wasn't allowed, so i did it anyway and they called the police on me (yes, I spoke to the police mysrlf) and told the police that i committed grand larcency! So me being a smart business owner myself went up there and gave them their money. Had to drive my sons truck up there though because mine STILL gets hot, 'antilock' brakes lock up, power steering making all kinds of noises, hard to keep the truck in a lane because they never did a front end alignment. There's so much more, after i find a way to post all of the inoices and the recordings and best of all the video I did today where his mechanics were running off at the mouth while i was trying to conduct a transaction that joe would not sign off on with his real signature showing that i gave him 'cash'. Lol, my battery is dying on my phone writing a review for this place and there's so much more. Long story short.... in my opinion this place is nothing shy of a place that may 'possibly' be able to bolt on a few bumpers or brush guards at that, maybe some tailgate repair but nothing that a vehicle owner should ever have to depend on. Sorry for spell check if any dont have time to proof read, battery dying. Videos and the rest of the story coming, and Joe dont' bother replying I'm sure not reading it. Proof is on record and under the hood and more than likely leaking all over our city streets

Thanks guys, after Davis auto in Richmond sold me a lemon you guys got her up and running and I have to say this trucks got some balls again. Wish you would've slapped a bumper sticker on the back so I could advertise for you. If you see a 450 flat bed crew cab blow by doing about 75 or 80 thank power stroke performance.

Update on previous post regarding these people and their bossman Joseph Harms and how they improperly 'repaired' (if you will) my truck..... I had to purchase another truck because of the cost of repairs to repair 'Powerstroke Performance of Chesapeake' work done to my truck was going to exceed $17,000 after spending nearly $20,000 with them for the following reasons. First and most simple, they inspected my turbo after tearing my engine apart 'turbo checks out good through and through' (have that on paper) maybe 1500 miles later or so the turbo is shot, originally brought back to them multiple times telling them it was overheating (read other post) then super Joe told me I needed a head gasket job (definitely read other post), had to replace all of the hoses because they were swollen, all kinds of ends to this and that for wiring, fuel pump, high pressure oil pump, injectors, allllll of that 'trial and error' stuff (on my dime of course). So I took it to the dealer, had to replace the high pressure oil pump because they didn't tighten it down right, had the old fuel pump tested and it's just fine, hooked the vacuum hoses back up they left off, replaced the pick up tube in the fuel cell (main problem for not starting just shy of a 1/4 tank, not hpop or fuel pump!) Then to the overheating..... had Super tech Joseph Harms tested the coolant he would have noticed there was diesel fuel in it, I had the heads checked that Joseph Harms said he 'sent to the machine shop' (on paper and got charged for it) and the head was cracked allowing diesel fuel to run all through my cooling system, therfore ruining all of my brand new hoses and everything else along the way and continuing to overheat as explained from the beginning and no guarantees from these guys that's for sure. Funny thing is, I heard the other day now joseph harms is working on other brands of diesels too, when I originally went there his main selling point to me was "powerstroke and only powerstroke there's nothing else worth working on". I guess joseph harms ran out of powerstroke customers. I have decided to keep my truck that I've owned for 14 years and even though I flat out was lied to and robbed by joseph harms and that little guy at the makeshift parts counter/dingy mechanic lounge, I'll survive, he won't.

I feel bad that I didn t write something sooner because these guys went above and beyond for me and my wife we brought her truck in last fall for some minor engine repair because we had a trip to Minnesota with it they said they would squeeze it in but didn t have much time to work on it after talking to them about some additional work (performance work) they went ahead and did everything and got it done on time for my trip which I literally left from there and drove halfway across the country and the truck performed beautifully I highly recommend them they re great guys and reasonable with the rates Can t wait to get back to them to have additional work done

Hell of a job done by Joe and his crew. My F350 drives better than a brand new truck. He went the extra mile. Well worth it. Thank you
