Reading the other reviews had me chuckling. Has the owner yelled at me multiple times for parking wrong? Yes.Has he on multiple occasions provided me a no-nonsense inspection quickly, thoroughly, and without any dishonest efforts to charge me for unnecessary repairs? Yes.Not every service oriented experience has to be provided to us at a white glove concierge level.

Absolutely terrible customer service! The owner/ mechanic of the shop is clearly over worked and very frustrated. I would not be surprised if he cut every corner in the book too get your car out the door. I walked into an empty front office space and waited to see if someone would come to the front. No one came so I googled the number and called the front desk to get service. This man can't to the front and his first words are "are you calling me, why are you calling me when I have cameras". To which I replied with "I didn't see anyone so I called, how do I know if you're monitoring your cameras" then he literally waved his hand and said bye and continued talking as if I know he is looking at his camera. After I told him how rude he was, he proceeded to tell me he has been there all day and he is tired. This is the mechanic that you do not want to risk your car with!

The owner did pass my inspection thankfully! But on the other hand I do agree with a lot of the reviews, he is definitely not that friendly & has zero personality, which why I rated only 2 stars.

All I did was call to see if the inspections were done by appointment and what time frame were they done. Whoever I was talking to on the phone has a nasty attitude and did not even answer my question and I will not be going there.

This shop was conveniently located near my work so I gave them a try (had bad experiences with chain shops). I had a feeling my car wasn t safely driveable so I got in a rental and dropped it off at the shop. Glen did seem a little abrasive at first, but after spending more time talking to him he softened up and I realized he s not rude, he values his time (and yours) so is very much to the point. He is in the shop from 5am till late at night making sure he gets the cars repaired. He explained everything to me so well, charged me a very fair price, gave me a heads up about upcoming repairs and when they will likely need to be done, and he and Ms. Valerie went absolutely out of their way to make sure I could pick up the car as soon as possible to avoid more rental charges (they called me at 9pm to let me know it was done and I could pick it up that evening if I wanted to). If you are looking for a shop that is the picture of perfect customer service but probably going to rip you off, go for a chain shop. If you re looking for someone who truly cares about helping you get back on the road and fair pricing, go to K and G. Personally, I d rather not have someone serve me coffee and baby me through the process at the expense of my wallet. These folks are amazing and I will be going to them from now on for all my repairs. Thanks for all you guys do!Services: Auto maintenance, Auto brake replacement

If I could put 0 stars I would!!I would not recommend them to anyone!These people are so RUDE!!They acted as if they are doing you a favor to you and that's not right, I'm paying money for the job! Manners 0/10I don't know how people can give you reviews with 5 Stars and "excellent service, respectful people, etc". I can't believe it!

Went to get my car inspected, the owner was very rude to me infront of two other customers; so I took my business elsewhere. I do not want someone to answer me as if I'm bothering them when I'm actually paying. I'm a service member and I'm big on respect and professionalism in and out of uniform. We have to be kind to each other in this day and age and being polite might make someone's day.

Haven't actually had my vehicle worked on here but I did go for an state inspection.Regardless of personal adversity the mechanic was very efficient & the female coworker/receptionist (his wife) was nice also. They have particular times set aside for the service performed and we (car & I) were in and out which was appreciated.If ever I need work done in future,I might consider them. No complaints here.

This owner is verrrry rude. Didn t want to believe other reviewers but yes, it s true. Lol he needs to be careful before he talks to someone like that with much less patience than I have. Very strange because I did or said nothing and the man was very snappy and arrogant towards me. Just makes you wonder what the issue could be but I don t want to use the race card

They were recommended by a friend. Everyone here is so nice. Honestly don't understand why everyone says they're rude. I took my car here for an inspection and it failed the first time around. No problem! They let me know what I needed to fix and come back. I brought it back everything went smooth I was in and out fast! I will deff be coming back for all my auto needs! They are simply amazing. Thank you guys!

Arrived at 1300 cause they said that is when they start inspections and their door was locked and nobody was there. Even waited half hour in case lunch was running late.

First time here for inspection today, WOW what an experience, everybody was super nice. Very comfortable waiting area, had an awesome conversation with other customers and the owner's wife. TV and current newspaper as well as a great variety of magazines. Live in the neighborhood across the street, will be back with other cars, makes a dreaded chore a little nicer.

I got a Carfax notification reminding me that my 2019 BMW was due for State Vehicle Inspection by the end of the month and it was already the 20th of March (I ll not be so generous with my next Checkered Flag BMW review) I was unable to get appointment with Checkered Flag until the 2nd week in April so I called around and was disappointed that nearly every shop that does State Inspections could not take me without an appointment I finally called K&G Affordable Auto & was told that they do State Inspections first come, first serve at 0800 am & 1:00 PM each day. I decided to try the 1:00 pm service the same day & was delighted to find out I was # 2 in line at ~ 1:05 PM, I waited ~ 15 minutes & my car was pulled into a service stall & 20 minutes later my car had a new State Inspection decal good thru March 2023. Great service & friendly staff.

I've been coming here for yrs to get my car inspected and the service is great. You have to just figure out what is the best time to go because they only take so many cars in the morning. Folks be lined up as early as 4:30 in the morning and the shop doesn't open until 7 am. LolIt's worth it though!

Absolutely wonderful. When I broke down, I was wet, cold, and panicked. Katherine was very calming. The vehicle was repaired right away and runs better now than it did before the break down.

Theyre the best! My first time there and I had a 2 year old with me.The wife of the owner was so nice and helpful.She came in and sat and talked with me and help me keep the 2 year old busy while we waited.The owner was a really nice guy and I would recommend them to anyone.Thank you for being so kind and helpful.

I had my car inspected here. It was rejected which is ok, I want to be safe. I went back on November 16 the day my rejection expired . They had a sign in the window no more inspections today. I got out and talk to an employee he was rude and obnoxious. I said I was calling the state police an went to my car. I was making a phone call and the same guy ( his name is adam) came out to my car and gave me a business card and said call valerie. I called valerie and she said her husband would be back at around 3 and inspect my car. Time goes on and around 4:30 pm I called their phone, No one answers! Called back Noone answers .me and 2 friends went there and valerie comes out to the car. She said to me it's not my fault you waited til the last day of re inspection to come back. Excuse me! I have till the 16th! She had a poor attitude, very poor attitude. She said my car will not be re inspected today. I took my phone out to take a picture of the sign on the door. She turns around toward the building and said she's recording us, talking about me. Slams the bay door and goes in the office tears down no inspection sign and the open sign. Wth!!! Today a friend named dennis took my car up there to be re inspected. Glenn Saw my car and rolled his eyes back in his head. He told my friend I needed to apoligize to his wife. Excuse me, she is the one that needs to apoligize. I never done anything that called for an apology . By the way I have a state inspection sticker on my car and it did not come from k&g, also they said they had me on a video? Let's see it, all you will see or hear is her sarcastic remarks. If you show me a video where I did anything that requires an apology. I will gladly apoligize! !! She owes me one right behind it. I will never step foot on your premises again and will continue to share this story.

Well...where do I begin?I hope you really look into knowing what you need done. Do your research. Look at your bill when the work is complete. Sit there & compare the prices OEM online (bring your smart phone).The engine I ordered, VQ35DE 3.5l 6cyl 2003 Pathfinder was 100% Sound as the Nissan Techs accounted for this engine.This entire venture lasted 4 months. It started on the request for services from Barnette's Remanufactured Engines & this company, K & G Affordable Auto the last 2 weeks of April 2016 through 22 July 2016 when I FINALLY picked up the vehicle from Mr. Barnette after his company found & fixed the problem with Nissan Techs. This was covered under Barnette's Review.On the 1st delivery date after installation - around the May holiday, which was late, I had to pay for a plane ticket to come back from Fort Knox, from a school, to pick it up from K & G Affordable Auto - $421 (never reimbursed). Before I got out of Hampton Roads the engine went into Limp Mode.K & G owner really didn't know what the issue was in diagnostics & tried to give the vehicle back to me. I refused to take it without the service being complete. If I can't drive it after paying you for the service of installing the engine... the job isn't done. No one wants to be stuck on he WV Turnpike in the middle of the night...Before I left the shop, in another rental... to take the 10hr drive back to Fort Knox...with no discussion on reimbursement on the flight I took for a vehicle which wasn't ready - the owner parked my Pathfinder & completely dropped my issue from his attention & turned his attention to his workers as they were working on a racing engine...while I was still standing there.... Really?So, back to rental vehicles I went on that 10hr drive in the middle a 5 week course through the holiday weekend in May.K & G owner kept the Pathfinder & it went into Limp Mode on him during a trip to NC. K & G really didn't recheck the installation. I was charged for a new "Oil Cooler" and O-Rings which is now leaking as Nissan Dealership advised that the oil cooler was NOT new. The O-Rings are the usual issue & the O-Rings were leaking. $7 from the dealership. I was charged $55. Nissan OEM Oil Cooler is around $349. I was charged $495.Rear main oil seal OEM cost is around $40. I was charged $55. I was charged $60 for an oil filter when at the most they run around $12.99. I know b/c I change my oil every 3000 miles.It seems like the owner (who you never get to talk to on the phone) pretty much threw his hands up at it & passed it on to Barnette's to find out what was going on. The fact that I already paid allowed this to occur. I paid more than $1000 over the quoted price for installation. This quote was supposed to cover any unforseen issues according to Valarie. K & G got their money for a job NOT completed & they passed the buck to Barnette's.After weeks of back & forth, I learned that Barnette's had tried to pick the vehicle up to bring it to their shop (which is NOT a mechanic shop) & was told by K & G that the vehicle was trapped so they couldn't get to it until after the weekend.Once Barnette's got the vehicle they took weeks of going through this engine thinking it was an engine problem, being on the phone with Nissan Techs thinking it was an engine problem (b/c they didn't feel the need to question K & G's work thinking K & G checked everything on their end), Barnette's & the Nissan Techs found that it was NOT an engine problem but an engine component problem - Remember I was listing what I was charged for? So, "Cover Assembly" - $65 & a "Solenoid Gasket Set" - $30. These items were the cause of the "Limp Mode" verified by Nissan Techs. These were NOT NEW.I haven't received a phone call from them since Barnette's fixed the issue. No funds returned. NOTHING.So...unless you have no other option & the job isn't too serious...
