Today is April 2,2024. I made an appointment. I been here over four hours for a diagnostic. What's the point of making an appointment if my car is getting treated like I'm a walk in! You would think for the price I'm paying, that things would be done in a better professional matter! Than what makes matter worse, the service representative that I'm assigned to, didn't even respond to the text messages when she text my phone first and said if I needed anything while waiting, text to Anita. So when I finally walk in to see what's taking so long, this lady said they now just checking my car out. That's ridiculous, especially since I set an appointment and this place is now just looking at my car. Textes go ignore and this place ignoring me too! Due better with your timing! No point of setting up an appointment if your dealership going to put a car last! Than you would think this place would have some free food to offer in the waiting area. Well it doesn't.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Day 1: 8:15 AM appointment for oil change, tire rotation, and determine source of burning smell. Service manager notifies me at 3:53 PM that the valve cover gaskets need to be replaced. I approve repair. Day 2: 4:54 PM I contact Service Manager...where is my car? 4:55 PM Service Manager calls me back...work not yet completed.I have to ask...why wasn't I informed of the valve cover gaskets needing to be replaced at 9:00 AM on Day 1? Why was I not notified until 3:53 PM? Why has this taken 2 FULL days? This is absolutely unacceptable.I have been doing business with First Team Toyota for 4 years. Something has gone terribly wrong with their Service Department. This is outrageous.

First team forever member since I bought my car here so I get oil and filter change free when I come in for routine service. Unfortunately they do not offer windshield replacement so I would recommend safelight. Dropped car off at 0930 and picked it up at 1630 same day

My service writer Miranda, Godfrey was absolutely amazing. She s very prompt and getting back to me. Detailed on my car information was spot on. Highly recommend using her for any Toyota repairs or service.

I ve dealt with First Team Toyota for years and they always deliver! I recently brought my wife in to purchase a vehicle and it had to be serviced before she couldn t drive off with it. The staff kept her informed as to what was going on, like always, and made sure to answer any questions my wife had thoroughly and professionally. I ve already told the sales team that I m going to keep buying cars from them so it s only right that I keep bringing said cars in for service.

Had an oil change for a 2011 Highlander, 6 cyl for $83 with synthetic oil. They did not check brakes, fluids, wiper blades, tires for wear or air!...if they did they didn't tell me. When I arrived no one greeted me or directed me to get service. They did call when service was completed. When I went to enter my car the tech left a greasy paper floor protector and actually spread grease on the driver side door sill. I reported it to the front fesk and they sent a manager out to correct the problem. She did a good job and apologized for the delay and oversight. I've been taking my Toyotas to Cobb County Toyota (CCT) for almost 30 years before moving to Chesapeake. First Team Toyota should go to school for a couple of lessons from CCT in customer service. The service writers and cashier we nice but underwhelming.

UPDATE: Although my experience was poor last time, I ve since had a positive experience, mainly when working with Miranda Godfrey. She has been incredibly helpful and responsive when working with me on getting an HVAC issue on my car addressed. Because of Miranda alone, I m updating my review from 1 to 4 stars because she has been a real pleasure to work with and this experience has made up for my previous one.Original review:I liked First Team last year and had a good experience until today. Had an appointment for my service and state inspection. First of all, I called them 4 times over the course of a week trying to schedule an appointment, a month ago. Impossible to get through to someone, kept being sent to voicemail. Ended up having to book my appointment online. Took a screenshot of the confirmation page because no email was sent. Showed up today to be greeted by someone moody. She told me I had my appointment for my maintenance but not for my state inspection. She said she would see if she could fit me in but wasn t sure (a state inspection takes a couple minutes, and besides that, I had my confirmation where I indeed requested the inspection).Got my car back and was told I failed the state inspection because of my windshield. I called the state police prior to my inspection to make sure the crack I had would pass. They said there would be no problem. I also read the Virginia code and the crack met all passing standards. Toyota claimed that the crack obstructed my view (it was a single crack on the passenger side) and that it was a 2 part crack ( it s not). Needless to say, they gave me a $900 quote to fix my windshield.After leaving, I went to see a state trooper and was told that it shouldn t have failed. Went to another mechanic who inspected the crack and confirmed that it was a single non obstructive crack.Clearly the inspector at Toyota needs to brush up on his Virginia code - but of course the dealership just wanted me to pay the $900 fee to fix it (2 other places quoted me between $500-$600).Needless to say, I m very unhappy with this dealership now and will not bring it back here for state inspections (since I bought my car from them, I was supposed to have free state inspections for life) I loved it when I bought my car from them last year, but judging by my experience today, it s gone downhill and it s a shame.

They forgot to do one of my services, when I went back (immediately) my advisor was nowhere to be found. I tried to ask a question to another advisor and she cut me off before I could finish, with a rude response. Although they were able to fix the error quickly, the advising staff has left a feeling of frustration. A quick I m sorry and let me see what we can do to fix it would suffice, however not one person could even muster up an I m sorry. We have purchased 7+ vehicles from first team, and have used the service department for all of them. They have been lacking in customer service for the past year+. We are unlikely to purchase our next vehicle from them based on our past few experiences with them.

Last day of the month asked for a state inspection on my 100K mile 2015 Taco. They started off by telling me they could do it but it wouldn't be done until late afternoon. No big deal. they had it done in 2 hours. I'd say 4 hours earlier than I expected. I'm a big fan of under promise over deliver. oh, and my vehicle passed inspection no problem. Very friendly people. very nice lounge. they drove me home in a company car. really just stellar service.

I ve purchased 3 vehicles from First Team. I have used their service department faithfully. I find them to be helpful, professional and courteous. They always try to accommodate my schedule for service appointments. My vehicle is ready when promised. I can t say enough good things about this service department, Best one I ve ever used. I ve been using First Team service for many years now, and there s a reason for it!! My service advisor, Miranda Godfrey, always gets me the best service advice and keeps my 99 4runner running like it just drove off the lot! Best service advisor I have had in a long time!! I will continue to use this service team for the foreseeable future! Thank you first team!

I so appreciate Anita Holmes at First Team Toyota and her commitment to quality service and her caring attitude towards her customers. Anita has been my Service Advisor for the past 10 years. I was just there two weeks ago picking up my brothers truck after being detailed. I mentioned some difficulties I was going through at the time . . . A few days later I received a call from Anita, she was just checking in on me and saying "Hi"!! She is genuine!!

Consistently forget to do the work scheduled on my car. They also forget to call you when they're done. Find somewhere else because it will be done faster and more reliably.

Miranda in the service department is incredible. She keeps you up to date on your vehicles progress and extremely friendly to talk with.

Service was fast but I could tell Saturday aren t staff friendly and I get that. The tech also damaged my rims when he rotated them however the service advisor did step up and make it right. Let s see how it goes next time and if all go well I will update my review.

First team Toyota, Charles Barker Toyota. I bought my 2012 Toyota from Charles Barker. I go to First Team because they are closer to my residence. I know that all Toyota dealership mechanics are certified. Every Toyota dealership backs up everything they do. Most Americans have had terrible experiences with mechanics. Cost is the number one indicator when we choose how to get the vehicle back on the road. Statistically proven, the biggest rip off in the US is vehicle oil changes. Toyota dealerships will never take advantage of you. Yes it costs more. But no matter what, you always get what you pay for at First team and Toyota dealerships.First Teams body shop manager helped me with an insurance claim. Dump truck carrying stone, hit a bad bump, rocks came out, dings on the hood and roof. Insurance says an 8 year old truck will have lots of dings, I was going to pay out of pocket for the hood. First team shop manager took pictures, and handled the argument with my insurance adjuster. A 2200 hundred dollar paint repair for the hood and the roof only cost the deductable. Toyota said one week to repair the damage. One week later I picked up my truck. Toyota stated the paint repair warranty lasts the life of the truck, (bubbling, peeling). Wait 30 says before using a car sealant finish. FYI: Car Wax from ANY maker may look great, but doesn't last, a waste of time and money. Google the new technology for car sealant liquids.In today's world and yesterday's,,,It's never easy to trust mechanics. First Team Toyota is trustworthy for everything mechanical and body.

Beware the unadvertised $100 diagnostic fee! While not an uncommon fee, this is the first shop I've ever worked with who didn't advertise it (looked for signage, none anywhere), didn't mention it during scheduling, and didn't mention it when discussing service with service tech. When I suggested they not charge me if they didn't communicate properly I was threatened with a lien on my vehicle. There are other shops who do the same work and in a more professional manner.

Waited 4 1/2 hrs for an oil change. They told me they were a little behind, but I saw people come and go. Not once did someone give an update, and when I asked two different people they kept saying it was almost finished. Almost 3 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. I'm not sure why they had me make an appoinment for this. this is just lack of respect for a customers time and is totally unacceptable.
