Came in for State Inspection instead of Doing the Inspections i got told ot failed. Cause of a sticker and aftermarket tail lights which are road legal. Why not just do the inspection so i know what to fix i should have listened to buddies who have gone here and had trouble i got my inspection done at another shop and passed no problems.

Virginia Vehicle Inspections, my first and best experience. Slightly hidden location but pull around the left side look for the traffic cones and line up.About a 10-15 min wait per car.Great service

Used to get my cars inspections here. Waited 2 hours out front before the business owner next door came over and explained they (Blakes) are no longer open on Saturdays. Thanks for letting us know. change your hours ? Then update your listing!

Poor poor job had my friends car for 5 days. Paid in full & picked the car up & the problem is still occurring. Do not go here .

Honest estimate and good service. They worked some on holiday weekend. I must let everyone know they stop doing weekends for inspections which was convenient for me. That has made me find other mechanics:/

They are typical rip offs do don t go there for anything!I went to get inspection they rejected I fixed the problem came back to reinspect to get inspection sticker. I was a day late over to 15 days and he charge me $20 extra saying it was over the days it was state police policy supposedly that they have to re-inspect the whole vehicle again they took 10 minutes brought it back inspected so they didn t re-inspect my whole vehicle but it still charge me $20. Also I brought it in the day before but they were all booked up with inspections and he didn t give me credit for that so when I went the next day he charged me again $20 more. I guess rip off an auto business do not go there. !!!!Services: Exhaust, Vehicle safety inspection

I contacted Blake's for my state inspection and wanted to know how long it would be to have my car inspected. The young man said he had one car being worked on and he can do my car after lunch around 1pm. I went there to wait. While I was waiting and talking to the young man, my car was being inspected. THEY TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR BEFORE LUNCH!! Who do THAT!! BLAKE'S DID!! THANK YOU SO MUCHService: Vehicle Inspection

Went to Blake s for a last minute state inspection. Called ahead and they were able to get me in quick. The service was fast and only took about 30 minutes. Appreciated how they didn t try to sell me on any services or any unnecessary upgrades. The co-owner and other service technician were very down to earth and polite which made for great conversation. Would highly recommend!!

I was extremely satisfied with the service I received today at Blake s Auto Service. I was up against a wall with the expiration of my inspection today. You know how busy inspection stations get on the last day of the month. John was so kind to get me on the schedule, and the office team was very professional and friendly. The service that we received at Blakes was excellent! They completed our state inspection and did some diagnostics for the check engine light that came on. I called in at 3:30 in the afternoon and they got me in same day before closing at 5! My inspection took less than 45 minutes and customer service was ON POINT! I ve been using Blake s for two years now for my vehicle inspections and I will continue to go back and recommend them to everyone. Truly an awesome shop. last year I had equally as awesome service.

Since moving to this area, I have exclusively used Blake's Auto for state inspections and any issues I've had. Today, I got an oil change and it was exactly like any other time. They took care of me, no issues and the price was as quoted. I feel like they are crazy honest and super good to their customers. Highly recommend coming here even if you aren't in this immediate area.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Took my 3500 in for inspection, some guy with his hat turned backwards came out and told me we don t do those .and your shop jacked up my Benz ! I m Done!

I am so glad I went to this place! I was shocked at how great their customer service is! Drew came to my house which is about 10 minutes away from his shop, because I wasn't sure if I could drive my car after it started smoking while I was driving my kids to school. He didn't want me to drive with my kids and came to inspect my car. They knew right away that I had a torn radiator hose. They got me in right away and I am so grateful! It is hard to come by great places like this. Honest to goodness people with great prices. I am never going anywhere else. Thank you Drew and everyone at your shop! My car is running great.

After taking my car in for inspection I was informed it needed some things needed done on the car to pass inspection. I had the minor things done and when I called last minute to have the more time consuming repairs they fit me into their already busy schedule and made sure I had it ready to go as soon as possible. I am very pleased with my car. It is driving much smoother. I will be a long time customer. This was my first time at Blake's and I am more than satisfied. I felt very confident in the service provided. John made sure everything was explained to me in a way that I understood exactly what they were doing to my car. All the staff were professional and personable. I will recommend Blake's to everyone I know.Thanks again to everyone!

Outstanding customer service! Hands down the most pleasant experience I've had at an auto shop in the Hampton Roads/ Tide Water area. I went for a State Inspection. It was a busy day, I was immediately informed on the wait time and the shop offered to give me a ride home instead of calling for a ride. I wish every business showed this hospitality and appreciation for their customers. Blake's Auto has earned my business, from now on the only shop I'll go to.

This year I waited in the office shorter than normal. My engine light is on as it has been for the last 4+ years and counting. Everything sounds normal to me, engine and all. He claimed that there was noise in the engine near the struts and because if that, my car didn't pass inspection. He said it wouldn't. I don't know his name, but he's an older man that walks with a cane. Boo to this place. The first two times were good, but this year.....boo. I don't understand why nothing on my car needs to be fixed yet they wanted to work on whatever the problem wasn't. People, please watch your Ps & Qs. We already can't see what he/she is doing inspecting. It's all bull to me. One more thing, I wish it wasn't said out loud why people fail inspection. To me, that's an invasion of a customer's confidence. That rule needs to be changed ASAP.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Vehicle safety inspection

I've taken my vehicles several times to Blake's. The recent work I had done was actually less than the original estimate and they happily gave my deposit back AND explained what future work I need done without being pushy. I know a lot of places that wouldn't. A great family owned business.

I was in the area, read about the good reviews on Google, and decided to give Blake's a shot. John was aces in customer service, his father was pleasant, and even the other customers were positive. The waiting room TV is small but the place had excellent A/C and my car was inspected in under an hour.

I love Blake s. Very quick and painless. I dropped my car off on Saturday for Monday state inspection. John called me before noon and let me know if things to fix prior to getting the inspection and the total cost. Once everything was complete, he called me back. I wasn t able to pick it up before closing so I went and paid and he had me park the car somewhere outside the gate so I could pick it up later. Everything is very convenient!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Blake's Auto Service repaired my vehicle after an unexpected breakdown. They knew exactly what to do, charged a reasonable price, and were able to complete the repairs quickly. These folks are honest and trustworthy. I will use them again, and would recommend Blake's Auto Service to anybody.

Fantastic! The gentlemen there did a wonderful job in a timely manner. Treated a first timer like me as family. Picked me up and dropped me off at work becuase it was my only available vehicle (service available when within a fifteen minute route and business allowing) they fixed everything I needed to pass state inspection and were super friendly, professional and pricing was reasonable and justified. Will be a lifetimer, whenever my car needs work I will go to Blake's!

Although they couldn't quite figure out what the issue was the customer service was really great and the atmosphere felt inviting. Affordable rates. Will definitely go back if neededUpdate 11/5/19 so what they suspected the issue to be appears to be it. They changed my oil and the check engine light hasnt come back on with driving the car daily for over a week. Thanks so much Blakes Auto. Will be there soon for an oil change for my other car.

I was told my car failed inspection and needed a rear left control arm and bushing... Took it to my old mechanic out near Smithfield and he said everything was fine and passed re-inspection without any repairs.Also, I waited from 7:30-7:45 am trying to drop it off on my way to work, because I was told Blake's opened at 7:30, but no one was there so I just had to leave it.Won't be coming back.

Came in for an inspection and oil change. They took me in right away. Turns out I needed rear brakes also. Was done and out in 1 1/2 hours. Very fast and professional. John, Drew and Ralph are all very friendly. I am glad I found them.

Once again, outstanding service from the Blake's Auto Service team. You won't find a better customer service minded shop that looks out for the customer like they do. They are honest and upfront and will work to get you the lowest price possible. No up sell on anything. They are the only auto service shop we take our 3 vehicles to.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone because they got me right in and had the best prices. Very friendly staff and trustworthy and made me feel like a longtime customer. I will definitely be a returning customer and I really appreciate small family businesses instead of the big chains that charge outrageous prices. Thanks again to John and his dad at Blake s Auto!!

State inspection failed due to foggy headlights & possible miss alignment. Offered to fix but I choose to deal with headlights myself. Had 15 days with a recheck for a dollar. Took the car back and it passed after the headlights adjustment. Very satisfied with the service and how they keep me informed on what they were doing. Will return for any further auto needs.

My husband and I have used Blake's for our State inspections. Our BMW didn't pass and cost us 1,000 to fix, so that they would pass it back in July. We thought maybe it was just that car. Took our Navagator in and again, did not pass and we are having to come up with another 1,000 yet again, to pass it. It now seems like a scam and we will not be using this company again. Both of our vehicles came to 1,000 a piece? They also list their hours of business and you get there to find out that the only person there for the 1st hour is the office attendant? And they give you a rough wait time estimate and it seems to aways be much longer. My Navagator was there at 8 am and I was told 1.5 hour wait, which turned into 3. So happy I ubered home. Do not use this place.
