You can t go wrong using big Al s south battlefield in Chesapeake. Jason and the crew are awesome and the genuinely care about you and your satisfaction. Their prices are reasonable too

If I could give them a -10 I would but one it is. Never take your truck to these people, unless you know someone there. We have given them the benefit of the doubt because they are small locally owned and they are in our area. But every time we take the truck there for one thing they, take extra time to fix what we leave it there for and break something else. Pay attention and watch out for this game they play.They do not deserve the business if they cannot do the right thing!

Big Al's does good work but this time l think l was had. I took my car in, ask them to check my break LINE, they Said nothing was wrong. 2 months later l took it back they said it was my break calipers.l told the guy l had it changed a few months ago, he Said sometimes they could be bad so l let them replace it,,3wks later l took it back and it came out the 1st thing l told them it was my break LINE.......l should had gotten my money back....

Came in to check an alignment- they placed my truck on their machine- and everything was within spec. Their lead tech showed me the results, and I was not charged anything. I appreciate any business who s this honest about things.Take your vehicle here- you know they can be trusted.

I have to say I love the Energy in this Big Als on battlefield Blvd & how they explain everything to you that's going on. I so appreciate the positivity& the Professionalism . FIND ANOTHER SHOP! I ve been a customer of this business for over 22 years with no complaints but today is the last time I will use them. I took my truck in for an AC replacement and they forgot to hook the radiator hose up. My wife and infant son took the car into town and the engine over heated. They were stuck on the side of the road for hours in 100 degree heat because Big Al s maintenance technicians were careless with no attention to detail.Service: Auto A/C replacement

Please go to a reputable shop for auto work. Took my car in for a throttle body replacement and was told it would take a couple hours. Well, 6.5 hours later I had to call to check on the status of my car, only to find out they hadn t touched it yet. I decided I would just pick up my car and go somewhere else, so I let them know I was on the way to get it. They called as I was on the way to let me know the technician had just started on the replacement and would be done shortly. I pay and leave not even a mile down the road, my car wouldn t accelerate. Took it straight back and was told the replacement throttle body was faulty after they tried fixing it . A new part was ordered while I was there and was told my car would be ready 9am-10am the next morning. Well, after 9am the next morning I get a text informing me of new issues with my car although, at that moment, they still hadn t put the new replacement throttle body on as discussed the previous day. I let them know if there were any further issues with the new throttle body to just put my original throttle body back on my car, and I wanted a refund. At noon, to no surprise, they called to say they basically couldn t fix it. When I brought my car in I didn t have any acceleration issues but now, even with my original part back on, my car doesn t accelerate. They agreed to a refund but wanted me to pay for the labor which I had a major issue with. We talked to the manager Charles and he was incredibly unprofessional, condescending, and just plain ole disgusting. According to him, nothing was wrong with the throttle body they put on but the true issue could be a number of things, such as my transmission etc yeah, okay. He also basically called us stupid by using the term no brainer and said he s not obligated to refund us. Again, this is the manage (one of them). Did I say his name was CHARLES. They couldn t fix my car AND made it much worse but they re not obligated to give us a refund? Deplorable. In conclusion, I paid for the labor and had to wait almost an hour for them to figure out how to issue a refund because none of them knew how to on their new system. What a joke of a shop. I will say this, Jason was helpful initially and remained very professional throughout the ordeal. A lesson learned don t take my car to a brake and muffler shop for auto work.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Big Al's Mufflers and Brakes on Battlefield Blvd., and I couldn't be more impressed with their service. They were reasonably priced, quick, and efficient. Highly recommend this location!

I use this shop for the services they are able to render as their technicians are knowledgeable and trustworthy and the office staff do an excellent job keeping you appraised as to the status of your vehicle.

Between the tech and the service manager, Great service!! Both kept me informed of what work needed to be done. The tech that did the custom work to my vehicle was AWSOME. He informed me, step by step, what was needed to get the job done. A+++ work gentlemen!! Thanks

took my car there in March to get my oil changed. Fourth of July weekend, i had zero oil in my engine. thought it was a leak so took it to my mechanic, turns out big al s lied to me and did NOT change my oil. my boyfriend took his car to get an oil change a week after i did, and it was very obvious they changed his.my family has been going to this location for over 20 years, Jason was always very helpful. but I was lied to by him and it almost cost me my engine. my family will never be returning.

Big Als gave my son a worst case scenario price of almost 300.00. When he got in there today they charged him 70.00 and wanted another 1100.00. He just had his car inspected at the dealership and asked for certain repairs and they came back and told him he needed more than the inspection came back and said. Trying to take an honest military man for a dang ride. Won't be going there ever again.Services: Wheel alignment, Brakes

I called 3 places for prices on brakes. The first place was honda dealership and they quoted $259 for back brakes. Firestone quoted me $216. When I called Big Al's, they said it would be $100. I thought FOR SURE they were going to give me a list of things wrong with my car and try and get me to do more. But no! Jason the manager was VERY nice and professional. I was there for a little over an hour, the waiting area was clean and actually very comfortable to sit in. They did what I asked, the brakes and I was on my way! I will DEFINITELY use them in the future for other needs!Service: Brakes

Friendly staff! This place was recommended to me by Discount Tire to have my alignment checked after just having new tires installed. I didn't have to wait too long, especially considering I didn't have an appointment. The alignment check was free and I was given a print out of the results. All in all a great experience. I will definitely return in the future, if I need an alignment.

Jason at the desk was extremely helpful. Brought my truck in for something I thought was in need and that was going to cost me $1200 and Jason and his crew diagnosed the problem and turned out to be a $100 fix I was able to do myself. Jason was very professional and happy to help to show me the issue instead of just trying to get my money. I will always chose this location for my exhaust needs!!

I came up there @9 am Jason had me schedule a appointment @3 . I drove another 25 mins waisting gas for him to tell me he couldn't do my resonator delete because my car is too low. I went to another big als in hampton and they did it with no problem! if you dont want to do your job then quit! One thing i hate is waisting my time!

I love Big Al's but this location is not for us. My son's rear view mirror was broken while it was there for three days but no one knows how. According to them the sun made it fall off. They did fix it after my husband and I both called up there. He had if serviced for the engine light being on, along with other things. The light went off but after two days home its back on. We may take our receipt and go back to our usual location.

These guys are always prompt and direct about the needs of your vehicle. Never feel like they are trying to sell you, but are looking to help and educate you. My first time using a shop for car work. I only got an estimate and I found them to be knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. They took me to the bay and showed me what they were talking about and explained the best way to do the repair and the cost effective way to still get the repair done. They also made my car safer to drive as a courtesy while I get the money for my repairs. They did this and the estimate for free. They showed they genuinely care about their customers and community.

I have taken my vehicle to Big Al's multiple times and have always had not only great service but also the price to fix my vehicle each time was a fair price. They give you a freee quote and always stay true to their word(what they say you'll pay is what you'll pay). Jason(the manager) is always professional and will always explain to you what needs to be done to your car and why. So far, I haven't had any issues with any of the repairs they have done on my vehicle and would highly recommend them!

After calling and explaining my situation, the complete setup, and what I needed was told no problem, bring it in. Was told "this is what we do." After bringing it in and filling out all the paperwork, I was stopped in the parking lot and informed me that they in fact wouldn't do it because the exhaust was aftermarket and it was their company policy not to touch such. Absolutely last time I will ever visit a Big Al's. Would recommend to stick with locally owned franchises who actually care about their customers and provide better quality work and price.

Amazing and professional service all around from this location. Jason and Eddie went above and beyond to ensure the parts required and brake service conducted on my vehicle was completed properly. Special acknowledgement to Michael who conducted the work of replacing all rotors, brake pads, and brake fluid system flush and informed me of a cracked caliper piston on the front passenger wheel. And the price for it all was $149 less than the other quotes I received for the same service. Thank you gentlemen, for your expertise, customer service, and professionalism. I will return here for future repairs!
