We have used Betteron & Whitlow for all of it...collision repair, mechanical and inspections. Top notch. Great place tucked away but easy to get to and worth going to! Bob (aka Robert) great to work with!

I had trouble finding a place to get a vehicle inspection and found this place by accident and boy am I glad I found them! Unlike larger establishments that had a 30 day wait list, the gentleman who answered the phone told me to get my car there before lunch and they'd get me in. I arrived as told and was out if there in about an hour. I can't tell you anything about repairs but if I do need work done on my car, I'm going here and will let you know how that went. A+ for the inspection and they didn't make up little faults to get money out of me. I appreciate the speed, the honest work and the price.

I love this mechanic shop so much! Been a customer for three years now. They always get me in and out in fairly decent time. Super friendly people. Wish waiting room was bigger...lol. Had to work out of there while waiting and didn't really have enough space to spread out with laptop and my belongings comfortably. Overall, highly recommend.

Tried for a week to get an inspection in Norfolk, but everyone wanted me to leave my car for several days. My brother suggested calling here and was in and out out in an hour! I have been a very satisfied customer of Betterton & Whitlow for 30 plus years. Their services have always been excellent and dependable. When asked by others for auto shop reference, I have given my highest-rating without hesitation or any reservation. Never received negative feedback from anyone over the years. Bobby and Brian are trustworthy and honest businessmen in addition to highly professional mechanics! That is why I have full confidence in their business! You will share the same experience!

Super nice people; however, I took my vehicle to get speedometer calibrated for a speeding ticket and they charged me $70 and did not even test it above 60 mph - they tested by driving the truck and using the GPS on a phone. That does not help me since the ticket was for over 60 mph. What a waste of money!

I was greeted warmly this morning by a gentleman named George. I asked if it was possible to wait for a car inspection and he got my car back in no time. I would highly recommend this place for an inspection. Inspections are the standard $16 and if it fails (which mine did) you have 15 days and they will reinspect for $1. I had the pleasure of meeting a really nice man whose name I didn't catch. He is tall with a white beard. My receipt says "George A George" so maybe that's him? He was very friendly and kind. This is the second year I've gotten my inspection there and both times at the bottom of the inspection sticker they wrote "Be Happy" with a cute smiley face doodle. I just wanted to give a shout out to whoever does that because I see it all the time driving and it's so cute and heartwarming and I'm touched by it. The woman at the front is really nice and informative. She even suggested I wait at sunrise and get some breakfast which I thought was nice. And they always answer the phone which is great. Overall great service.

Great experience and highly recommend! I started my search for an auto repair shop through researching reviews and decided to send a message via their site. I wasn t expecting a quick response since it was 6 pm on a Sunday evening and Monday was MLK holiday. To my surprise Haley contacted me back to answer a couple questions and tell me to come in the next morning or that if needed, they could tow the vehicle. The next morning (today) I arrived and spoke a gentleman about my issue and he explained to me what he thought it could be. Told me that I could replace the battery myself if I wanted to save money or leave it with him and they would get to it today but that is where to start before going any deeper into a repair. I left it with them and it was fixed that day (today).I had a great discussion with the gentleman on other vehicles I am looking at while I waited for my ride. Throughout the experience everyone was very friendly and professional. I felt confident that I was getting the straight scoop and that my vehicle was going to be handled as if it were their own. I will be bringing my other vehicles here from now on.Service: Battery

I'm 3rd generation Betterton and Whitlow. My grandpa said the people there where honest and reasonably priced, and he was spot on. Took my vehicle for a safety inspection, while other locations did not do same day, or were vague as to when the inspection would be completed, this establishment did it in one hour with two cars in front of me. Professional, on time, courteous service. I never write reviews, but these folks are good at what they do, and appear to take pride in what they do!

This shop has done work on a number of my vehicles over the past two years. The reason I decided to write this review is because the past few times I have been here, my experience has not been great. It is stressful leaving a vehicle with them because there is a lack of communication and I never know what I will have to pay until I go to pick up the vehicle. There have been some surprising charges the past few times I went to pick up my car. Previously, I had justified going back because the work done seemed to be quality and the folks were friendly, however most recently when my brakes were done here, I had to pay another shop to adjust them as they were not properly adjusted. Now I can no longer justify coming here.

Great people. Great service. We've been having our cars serviced at Betterton & Whitlow for more than 10 years. They are reliable and reasonably priced.Drop-in inspection station and drop-in or scheduled service and maintenance. They also have a tow truck.Open M-F 8:00-5:30

A good shop- I have been taking my 4 cars here. However this last time, they broke an oil filter housing. Nobody had called about my car so I called and found this out. The found the replacement and installed it. They then charged me for the part they broke. I would ve voluntarily paid for it but they kept explaining that it s not their fault that the part broke while they were opening it. I put a lot of value in people s word and honestly; their lack of accountability and then their charging me for the part they broke has resulted in myLoss of trust. Wont be bringing any car of mine back here again

Best garage you'll ever find! As a woman, I often feel ripped off when I go to get car maintenance done. These guys are fantastic! I have requested certain things to get done as preventative maintenance and they told me that they didn't need to get done at that time! These guys are so honest but thorough. And their prices are really great!! I highly recommend this business!!

Great staff. Everyone is friendly here that I have talked to. I needed to get my car inspected. I have gone and called at least 15 other places today. I have gotten ranges of excuses from other shops of 6 hr wait times to we only do drop offs. I had one place tell me they only do it at 8am and its first come first serve. They told me to come by and they would work me in. Great place and they will get more of my business. If you are looking for a different experience and want to support local a business this is the place to go!

Integrity-Yes! I Purchased the wrong brake rotor to complete my re inspection, It caused my ABS light to stay on. When I returned it to the shop they acknowledged that they should've also caught it. No charge to replace the correct part, and I would've totally understood if they dint.

We brought in our car, it was having a lot of problems with a tire and engine. They checked it out, and let us know that we should contact our insurance because of the water damage before we do anything. Really nice guys. They really know their stuff. Our car ended up getting totaled, so any repairs would have been a complete waste of money. These guys saved us a lot! Will definitely come back when we have car troubles.

When you find a trustworthy repair shop you stick with it. My family had been going to B&W for as long as I remember, and it has always been recommended. I have lived in this area off and on the past 10 years of my driving life. I do most of my own work, but if it's something I can't do, I take it to them. They aren't expensive, do honest work, and have always been accommodating to me. One time I replaced an upper control arm that was necessary to pass inspection. I took it in, and apparently hadn't tightened it enough, and the guy who does inspections not only passed me, but tightened it up for me, in order to pass. I don't think twice about going here, or recommending them to other people.

I called Betterton & Whitlow in a rush needing an inspection last minute. They were able to work me in and get it done and provided a quality experience. The inspector advised me on work that needed to be closely monitored and gave assurance that when the work could be afforded, they will take care of it. I trust the work they do.

Great people! Just moved here From NC and I was nervous finding a new auto mechanic. I decided on these guys after seeing 5 star reviews. I had a check engine light due to an air fuel sensor. They changed it and didn t try to sell me on anything extra. Very happy here.

Fantastic customer service and great prices. My power steering fluid was leaking on my 2005 Nissan Murano, and the dealership told me it would cost $600 to fix. Took it to Bobby and he fixed it for half the amount. Plus, they gave me a ride to and from the dealership. This was my first time using them, but now they will be my first call.

Not only did they not have the right equipment to test my car properly, it ended up costing me more because they didn't. On top of that, after shelling out about $50, they didn't help me on my speeding ticket even though they knew I just needed 2mph difference.They may be good for repairs and such, but look elsewhere if you're needing a calibration that will help you in court.

I went there this morning to inquire about a inspection and I attempted to park my car on their property and a mechanic starting waving his hand at me as I roll down my window he said really rude to me don't park there he could have been more respectful cause it wasn't like it was any sign there to say don't park there..After that I just drove off and took my business elsewhere.
