Wonderful experience from beginning to end. I was welcomed by a good looking seasoned gentleman named LJ, who will have you laughing to no end. Went in to see why the truck was ticking. He updates you throughout the day on the process of your vehicle. Also letting you know the parts ordered and oil used. Needless to say, It no longer ticks after taking it to this shop. He said he fixes marriages, divorces, and collections so your vehicle is in very good hands. Highly recommend and definitely will be going back.

Great customer service, they get it done in an extraordinary timely fashion and treat you like family.I took my car in not knowing exactly what was wrong , they got to the bottom of it and took no time to get to it! Great work. Very honest.Will always take mine and my family's vehicles here ! Highly recommend.

We called serval shops before reaching Affordable Transmission in Chesapeake, Va. LJ,the owner and manager, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He replaced the transmission in my brother s truck in a reasonable time and at the best price. Service is excellent! I highly recommend them if you re looking for competent and professional service.

Big thanks to Affordable Transmission. We had to have a transmission in our van at Christmas. They do excellent, professional work and in a very timely manner. Customer service in today s world is almost non existent but LJ and his staff are exceptional at what they do! 5 stars from us!I

LJ is absolutely awesome! My family and I have known him for a few years now and he is more than honest, timely, affordable, as the name says, and does an excellent job on our vehicles, especially my son s trucks. He s always willing to work with you to get the job done. I will continue to take my vehicles there as needed. The professionalism and knowledge that they have goes beyond what words can express. From the first phone call I made to ask about an estimate, LJ was everything lol! His voice is very unique but the level of respect he has for his customers just did it for me! They did not charge me for the diagnostic and then to add to that I was supposed to get a used transmission and turned out I got a new one! LJ kept to his word, and had me back driving in 2 weeks like he said! Prior to coming here I read the reviews and affordable transmission did not disappoint! If I could give 1000 stars I would! This was the best experience I have ever had when dealing with car repairs!!!! I recommended this place to a friend and he went and received the same exceptional service I received!!!!!! Thank you so much LJ and the affordable transmission team!!!!!!

LJ put a new transmission in our 16 Yukon for a very reasonable price and warranty. The dealership was trying to gouge us on the work that needed to be done. LJ took it on and knocked it out fast. He communicates every step of the way and is upfront on what to expect for costs, no surprises. Good honest people! I go there now for any service issues.Service: Transmission

Big shout out to affordable transmission to LJ in the best mechanic around town Teeny for getting my car straight wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else thanks guys so much ! If you live in the tidewater area I suggest you take your vehicle to them for any issues.

I had been having trouble with my truck for quite some time. After countless efforts to make repair I was finally referred to LJ at Affordable Transmissions. They were able to find the issue and make the repair at a fair price. My truck runs like new again. Can t think these guys enough!

I had my transmission fixed. LJ and his team did a great job plus more. They were able to take care of that as well as additional issues that needed to be repaired on the vehicle. I want to thank L.j. Wood , Ronnie, and the crew at Affordable Transmission for Everything they have done for me and my Suburban. After Rebuilding the transmission, putting new exhaust manifolds on/ repairing a couple broken bolts, and replacing some O2 sensors.They have been very commutative all the way through, with a high Quality work standard, affordability and in an efficient time frame. LJ and his crew have exceeded any expectations I had. guys Krushed it.Thank you again LJ.

I walked in to get my car looked at by this business and I was greeted nicely at first, sat down to roughly tell "the man behind the desk" about my transmission and what I knew about its past rebuild.And I was immediately patronized about my knowledge and then some snide name calling by he. His previous shadowed hostility reared its ugly head and was directed straight at me. I was told so many things by the "man behind the desk" that raised RED FLAGS for me. Aside from how I was treated like the phrases used by he: "up charge me", "will get his money and then some", "If its not OE from the dealership then he won't accept remanufactured parts".*So that leaves older vehicles that no longer have OE part available, at the dealership off his roster of transmissions to repair. *As well as stating "I won't like the price he charges for fixing my transmission, the right way".Obviously, his audacity has compelled me to write this review for Consumer awareness! Good luck, if you choose this business for your vehicle transmission.

LJ is straightforward and knowledgeable. The entire team is professional and friendly. So far, so good. An updated post will follow after the job is complete.Update: Got my car back and it feels like a new car. Shifts very well and strong. Best part of this is the after care from LJ. He asked to bring it back after the break in period to ensure everything is running as it should. Also, he emphasized to bring it back if anything doesn't look or feel right. It is things like this that builds great relationships. It says a lot about their reputation and service. Overall, very pleased with the outcome. Mr Wood treated me like an old friend. He explained everything my Explorer needed and told me how long it would take. I got several great references which made me even more confident that I would be given a fair deal. The workmanship is outstanding and I will send my friends to Mr Wood. Great experience.

LJ and his men were very knowledgeable and were very generous to explain to me the issues my car was having and why. LJ gave me a fair price for the repair so I brought it back the next morning and they were finished by that afternoon, I have had no issues every since. I moved to the area this past year, and decided to take a chance on Affordable Transmission since they were local. I have never in my life seen mechanics that got your back like this place. I came in to get my transmission replaced shortly after buying a used car. LJ went above and beyond to make sure that I wasn t being taken advantage of since I had to use a warranty company to cover the costs of the repairs from the dealership I bought it from. Amazing customer service, great team of guys and only looks out for what s best for the customer.Service: Transmission

Went hear to get my brakes done. The service was great. LJ and his team are straight up honest people. They recommended a few other services but were not pushy. Great! I will consider them when I need those.
