The best auto repair shop/service station I have ever found. Have used all of their services for decades. Honest, fair, responsible, friendly, professional. A joy to work with. I always have confidence in their work.

My daughter took my truck in for an inspection. The truck just went to my normal mechanic three weeks ago but he doesn t die to inspections, they stated it needed new ball joints, tie rods, rear brakes and alignment. Was going to cost $2700.00 and she could leave it for it to be done next week. What a load of garbage: taking advantage of a young woman, who you think doesn t have a clue.

Went here to get air in my tires, and was just pulling up to ask a question and then was going to go park elsewhere. Well I rolled window down just to ask and the elderly man with darker skin and dark beard (didn t know the name), sternly said YOU NEED TO MOVE; and I explained I just had a quick question and he said it again. INCREDIBLY rude and I will NEVER give business to this place again. Too bad because I live close. But he was so rude and ignorant and clearly a very unhappy man. How dare you treat people that way. Bad business!!! Don t recommend.

My husband and I had a tire blown after hitting a particularly bad curb at the Barrack's Road Shopping Center. Mark was our absolute hero. He helped us out and really saved our bacon!! He was incredibly kind, courteous, and went above a beyond what we could have realistically expected from anyone (especially at the end of their hours). THANK YOU!! I would definitely recommend Finley's to anyone.

Initially went to Finley's for a estimate for repairs on my car since another place gave a way too high price. Vicki is the person to schedule your appointment and she is fantastic. Watched as she was searching on the Internet to price parts for my estimate, which was way more reasonable and affordable. Later, scheduled the car for repairs not too long after this estimate. Since I live near by, was dropped off back to my place while waiting for my car to done and they came for me when it was. By mid-day, the car was ready. I interacted with several employees at Finley's in addition to Vicki and the entire team is knowledgeable, helpful and interested in having a satisfied customer. With reasonable and fair pricing, the added attention spent searching for parts for my ole car, and overall experience, they are my choice to keep my car in their capable hands. And my car is also happy........now running better with the new muffler system. Highly recommend them.A satisfied first time customer and a repeat one.

Mark Finley and his team are astoundingly good at what they do. They are terrific diagnosticians, great communicators, they run their business with great integrity. They build trust foundationally by doing exactly what they say they're going to do, no more, no less. The pricing is reasonable, you will always get a fair shake. In a world where Auto repair outfits can sometimes have a poor reputation Finley stands out as the gold standard. They're old school approach of great quality for a reasonable price is absolutely refreshing in today's day and age. I highly recommend Finley's Service Center. Mark Finley is more than a businessman, he serves his community beautifully with the hard work that he and his staff do everyday.

We had Finley s do a buyer s check on a used Volvo and they completely missed the fact that the AC and heat didn t work properly. Brought the car in (twice!) for diagnosis, and they couldn t figure it out. They made no offer to compensate us for their mistake and we are long time customers. We spent the summer without AC and we have a 2 year old child. Now we ll have to pay for it to be serviced at a competent shop. A year before, different car, one of their mechanics tried to get us to agree to a system flush when it just needed new spark plugs they d already wasted our time and money on a system flush just 2 months prior! Mark is a nice guy, but I think he has some sketchy, incompetent mechanics working for him.Services: Electrical, Air conditioning

I haven t had a car experience this good in a decade! They were wonderful! If you need anything done with your car, don t go anywhere else. Best price, nicest people and my car is running better than it has in years. Thank you Mark Finley and associates!! You have my business for life!

Very helpful and friendly shop. Just had a screw in my tire and needed a plug. They squeezed me in very quickly and knocked it out for $20. I've told all my colleagues about them and will consider them for my other mechanical needs in the future.

I've taken my car here twice now. Once for a muffler replacement, which was priced very fairly, done quickly, and done well. Second time my car died. Timing belt "slipped," did some damage to the engine, very sad. Mark Finley has been fantastic, communicating frequently, not charging me to leave the car there while I look for a new one, shopping around looking for someone to buy it for parts... I went in and offered to pay for them diagnosing and he said let's wait and see if we can get you some money for the car and I'll take payment out of that and still get some money to you. The rest of the staff has been very friendly and helpful as well. I'll definitely be going back for future maintenance and repairs!

I'd do not recommend this shop to no one. I took my car to this shop due to a wiring issue. They called and told me to pick it up and that it was ready. Once I had paid for the services rendered...I noticed when I cranked up my car it made a timing issue noise. I did not pull off the lot because of their mistakes.. They broke my serpentine belt and harmonic balancer and called me the next day to tell me to take my car somewhere else. UNBELIEVABLE! LAWSUIT!

My wife was experiencing a very rough ride on the bypass and pulled down into Finley's. We went down the next day an they said they would have a look at it. Not only were they able to diagnose and repair the issue (spark plugs), but they called the next day to make sure we were happy with the fix and that it fixed the symptoms.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Been here 3 times - twice for a tire plug and once for an inspection sticker. This place is always my first choice because of their excellent, easy service. My only complaint is that the parking lot is so tiny! But call ahead and see if they can fit you in for a faster transaction.

Horrendous experience. Went in on a Saturday (was following hours posted here), but the shop was closed for the weekend. That really wasn t an issue, but the guy there didn t tell me I had to schedule a car inspection in advance, nor did he offer to schedule one. So I went back the week after, at which point I was told I had to schedule a car inspection beforehand; I subsequently scheduled one for the NEXT week. I go again that week to drop my car off for the inspection. When I ask how long it will be, the woman working refused to give a solid answer, and simply said by 5:00 because of when the car was dropped off (early afternoon). I take an Uber home. Soon after arriving home, I get a call saying the car had failed inspection because of some issue with the steering and because of windshield wipers. Total waste of $15 Uber cost. The technician comes up with some convoluted scheme where I take the car to the local dealership and ask for written confirmation that the steering is okay THEN I take the car back to get a passed inspection sticker (and wipers replaced for additional fee). Fed up with this ridiculousness I take the car to the dealership, where I got the steering part replaced for free, wipers were deemed NOT to have failed inspection, and I get the inspection sticker just fine. I will NEVER go back to this location for car service ever again.

If you want to be charged a fair price, get old fashioned 1950's polite customer service and have the work done right the first time I strongly recommend Finley's. Not only have we used them ourselves but as hotel owners nearby we have sent many customers there who have had auto troubles while visiting Charlottesville, and every one has had a good experience.

EDIT TO MY PREVIOUS RAVING REVIEW THAT WAS ORIGINALLY 5 STARS... I recently was back in Finleys to have an oil change (when it is normally around $30 at all other mechanics I've been to, but for some reason it is $59 here. I've paid it due to convenience of location) and to have an inspection done. My vehicle failed inspection, which I somewhat expected, but not the $1,200 bill that they quoted me with to repair all that they felt needed to be done before passing. I could not believe this. I brought it to TWO other mechanics on my day off to have it checked after Finleys and BOTH OTHER MECHANICS (not related and do not know each other) said that Finleys was trying to screw me, when they haven't known them to screw people in the past. They said that some of what was listed on the sheet is not even a part that exists and that Finely's was simply trying to get a massive payday out of me. Some of the issues that were mentioned were needing attention, but did not need to be done immediately to pass inspection. Basically I am going to another mechanic now who is replacing my brake pads and rotors on the rear and a light that is out and THAT IS IT. Hell, I even just purchased my own brakes for this other person to put in, saving me hundreds. I am shocked as were the other two mechanic places that I took my vehicle to. Finley's always was great for me and many of my friends. NEVER AGAIN and I am informing my entire office of this. Two stars because of a previous experience and they assisted in putting air in my tire for free.Original review: Excellent mechanic! I work next door at Primary Eyecare and all of my coworkers have always gone to Finley's. I was new to the area 9 months ago and this service center was the third mechanic we have tried and I will now still with them. They have shown me parts that need to be fixed and never try to replace things that really don't need to be replaced. They are very trustworthy. Easy to work with and kind people.

My usual mechanic doesn't do inspections, and I took my car to Finley's on a friend's recommendation. They did the inspection quickly and pointed out some minor problems that they suggested I have my regular mechanic check. Fast, honest. Would recommend to others.

Had to stop here because of emergency. Car completely died and they were able to slip us in because a appointment cancelled. They were nice people and did a good job but took them almost 4 hours to replace an alternator which was my only issue.

Had a VA state inspection done here and could only get an appointment 3 days out from when I called--I now know why they're in such high demand. Kind staff and the folks who did the inspection were very quick. They told me to expect an hour and had me driving out in under 40mins. No nonsense, trustworthy people. Would highly recommend. I'll be back.

I can here to get a broken tail light fixed and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They fixed my car much quicker than expected, and for a very reasonable price. If you need car rep you it's done in Charlottesville this is the place to go.

Parking is really tight here, and often times cars are double parked in. Called a few days in advance and got scheduled in for an oil change the day I was asking for. I'm a college kid and didn't really know what to expect out of this place, but had seen it before and thought I'd give it a try. It was a bit pricier than my mechanic back home, but good and quick service. I've always used synthetic oil, which is more expensive than conventional oil, and it cost me about $75.

I will not take my cars anywhere else in Charlottesville. I've never been been nickel and dimed or misled in any way. All the shop guys are really nice and will talk to you about what's up with your car, if you want to know. There are not many shops where you get to talk with the person that actually does the work. For me, this is a huge plus. They are very reasonable about pricing parts and work hard to accomodate your schedule. My family and I take all our cars here for inspections/repairs, since we don't have any new cars/dealership appointments. We also get most of our gas here since their price is always competitive. They do a great job with imports too, and have done excellent work on our BMWs, Subarus, and Toyotas. NEVER has a repair come back faulty. Mark and Vivian up front will take good care of you.

I went here because my car was leaking coolant and I had heard good things about this place. After replacing an internal temp gauge in my car and not finding where the car was leaking coolant they told me for the 3rd time that they couldn't figure it out and to bring it back again. And again it kept leaking. 150$ temp gauge later. I took it to them 3 times for them to tell me to bring it back. So I will not be bringing it back a fourth time or really ever for anything I need. I work in the hospital and Seen pt's with more complex medical issues be diagnosed faster than my car was. Thoroughly disappointed.

We were visiting from NC and needed our brakes repaired. We had a small window of opportunity during the day as we had to take 3 grandkids to school and daycare. Finley's worked us in, did a complete brake job in a couple hours and even offered us a ride from our hotel a mile away. Thanks to Finley's.

Great people who really worked with me to get my car running. I have an older car that required a different skill set that most don't have, they admitted to not knowing but still helped me and got me going. Good place to take a car for car work.

Had a broken mirror and they did an excellent job fixing it in under 20 minutes. Staff was friendly, and they took me right away. Definitely will be coming back with future car issues and for my inspection!

When I realized my flat tire could not be repaired, Finley's replaced the tire at a competitive rate. They also crushed University Tire in customer service! Great guys, take your car there!

They gave him a suggestion to try to fix the problem before even coming in, and were helpful and prompt when he brought his vehicle in.
