It's difficult to find honest independent mechanics that you can trust with your older vehicle, particularly when you move to a new area. I found Foreign Auto Services through a friend's recommendation, and I'm pleased to say that my experience with them exceeded my expectations. Their initial diagnostic report was the most detailed that I've received from a repair shop. They pointed out the few minor issues with my vehicle, provided their recommendations for what needed to be replaced and what I should monitor over the coming years, and provided quotes for all suggested work that were fair and in-line with shop hour rates from other highly-skilled shops I've worked with in the past (You typically don't want the cheapest shop working on your vehicle. With mechanics, you get what you pay for).Shawn (my service advisor) and Lee (my mechanic) were responsive and friendly throughout the repair process and provided impeccable service from start to finish. I'm excited to have found a shop I can trust in the NOVA area, and I won't take my vehicle anywhere else.

These guys are great! They use the newest technology and tools. Every 6250 miles I bring my Tesla model 3 in for a tire rotation and balance, and a four wheel alignment. I was surprised by how far out of alignment my car was brand new from the factory. The digital inspections with pictures are very nice.

Shawn and his crew did outstanding work and due to the extent of issues I was having with the vehicle the automated system they have in place was on point. If I had any questions or concern I just called and he walked me through it. Once again outstanding work Foreign Auto Service.

Experience was extremely good!! I would 100% recommend it to others. All the people were nice and good waiting area with Wifi. I liked the cutting edge technology they are using to detect and track all the defects along with the pictures and was shared with me so that we can check it online later and it's on our record. Very best!!

The staff is welcoming and friendly, The waiting area is neat and super clean, good wifi. They did a thorough inspection of my vehicle. Very professional and courteous. No high pressure sales..They have been running this place since 1974!! Of course they are experts in the car servicing. Thank you Foreign Auto Services.

We had a great experience here . The manager Emad texted us and let us know exactly what to expect he is awesome professional very knowledge and knew exactly what my car needed he delivered top notch service. We were in and out in a timely manner . The crew were nice and hard working we will definitely be back .

I had a blown engine on my Ford Expedition. The entire staff at Foreign Auto Services (FAS) was a pleasure to deal with. They were very responsive and extremely candid to my inquiries regarding how best to get the vehicle back on the road. FAS gave the pros and cons to every option and decision that was made during the repairs. The work was excellent and FAS made a worrisome situation much more manageable. Many thanks to the entire FAS team.

Service was decent enough, albeit slow, and I recently developed a leak from the oil drain plug gasket after a previous oil change here. Biggest issue is the hostility toward customers using Groupons. On my most recent visit I was told by their service writer Emad not to come back because I ve used 3 of their oil change Groupons and have declined their other recommended services. When I come in for an oil change and I'm waiting, it means I didn't have the flexibility to drop off and I don't have the flexibility to wait around another couple (or more) hours. I also like to double-check diagnosis and prices with a second shop before proceeding with any services. If that makes me unwelcome, so be it. If your intent is for your Groupon to be a single use introductory offer, then make that your policy on Groupon. Don t set a limit of 3 per customer then browbeat a customer for actually using the offer you provided. But don t worry, after the way Emad spoke to me I definitely won t be back.UPDATE: Responding to the owner s points -1) Fair enough. I did get a tire rotation as well as the oil change, and they do complete a thorough inspection.2) The leak was from the drain plug gasket installed on my previous oil change at your shop. Not sure why you referred to it in scare quotes in your last sentence, check the digital inspection report you provided last week it's on there. It was resolved when you replaced the gasket last week.3) So over a period of 19+ months I used 4 oil change Groupons and two wheel alignment Groupons. On one of my 5 visits I used both an oil change and an alignment voucher because your (far more pleasant) service writer at the time specifically recommended doing so. As further explained below, this was entirely in keeping with the Groupon terms and conditions.4) Emad cut me off as soon as I said I have another mechanic and didn t give me a chance to explain that I get second opinions and check prices with him before proceeding. As soon as the words another mechanic left my mouth he told me not to come back and continued to berate me.As for abusing the discounted service? Come on now. The policy was always clearly stated Limit 3 per customer. May repurchase every 365 days. In fact, it *still* states that as of the screenshot I took about 5 minutes ago. In what universe is following the rules you set abusing the offer? If you wanted it to be a one-time offer, that s how you should have set the T&Cs from the beginning. And if Groupon isn t accurately reflecting your intended terms, then your beef is with them and not the customer.My go-to mechanic is in Springfield. I d love to have someone closer. I had hoped it could be Foreign Auto Services, and I regret that your hostility has foreclosed that possibility.

I took my BMW to the dealership and quoted me $6100. I called and Sean was awesome with explaining to me about the repairs BMW quoted me and what I needed and quoted me the parts and labor. I ended up paying $3200. I highly recommend! I m definitely bringing my car here for now on! Thank you guys so much for squaring away my car!

Most thorough pre-purchase inspection I ve ever had. Saved me a lot of grief. Great Service, very knowledgeable. I showed the inspection report to a car dealer friend with 30 plus years in the business.. best he s ever seen. These guys are pro s.

I found Foreign Auto Services via the Costco Auto Services website. It gave me confident that Foreign Auto Services should do a good job, if Costco recommends it and has a partnership with it. I looked up Foreign Auto Service website to see where they are located. I decided to email for a quote on the work I needed to get done on my car, and then I saw the online chat. It was late in the evening, but I decided to give it a try. I started a chat, and was surprised that someone was on the other side responding. As it turned out, they pretty much work late as needed. The chat goes straight to one of their phones. I tried the chat a couple of times, late in the evening, and every time, someone responded... it was Eric or Carlos. Eric responded the next day with the quote as he said he would. I was surprised... a man of his words. I decided to give them a try since their quote was 50% of what the dealership quoted me, and their quote is in the range of repair cost suggested online. I arrived early the morning of my appointment with my co-worker who was giving me a ride to work. Foreign Auto Services has a loan but it was unavailable at the time because it was in an accident. It was raining that morning. It was so nice that Eric decided to open 5 mins early so that I wouldn't have to wait any longer in the rain. I really appreciate that. That afternoon, after driving my car off, Eric called with a few recommended services. I took his recommendation, and had it done. I checked with my friend who fixes is own cars, and he said that the prices are reasonable, but of course, it would be much cheaper if my friend was to do it. I prefer a trained professional to work on my car. I will definitely take my car to Foreign Auto Services again. I do get free oil change at the dealership, and I love the convenience of having a loan from the dealership if I need one. I plan on using Foreign Auto Services for things that my dealership identifies - like new brakes. It is good to know that Foreign Auto Services will be here when I need them. Oh, because I have a Costco membership, I get 15% off services, too. WOOHOO!! Thanks, Eric and Carlos!!

They fixed my Wolkswagen and my wife s BMWWe were satisfied they are very honest and trustable fixing with original genuine part snd 3years warranty too price was also reasonable and all the workers are very humbleOne of worker his name is Emad .he is very quick respond to us like a estimation text or e mail etc. he was so fast respondingWhenever we need our car fixing we will go this shop again thank you

alignment no good. my vw have factory adjustable front camber and caster (eccentric bolts) but they don't know how to adjust them. And customer service is rude.

Great experience overall and quick turnaround. I called the morning of to see if there was same-day availability for safety and emissions testing. They were able to get me in and also suggested an alignment based on the inspector s test drive. I had noticed a slight pull, but forgot to mention it so I was pleased that they caught it. Less than 4 hours from my original call, everything was completed. I was impressed with the custom services, timely response, and the fact that they didn t try to sell me on services that the dealer usually does.Services: Wheel alignment, Vehicle safety inspection

I recently purchased a new (used) "toy" for myself, and wanted to have someone give a thorough once over front-to-back. I knew of a few items that needed to be addressed from a pre-purchase inspection, but really wanted someone trustworthy and knowledgeable about BMWs to look it over in detail.I was introduced to FAS/Carlos by a close friend (more like a brother) of mine. My friend went to high school with Carlos and was still friends to this day. So, trust factor...check! I took my car into FAS, met Carlos and his team (Emad and Steven). Not only were they able to identify the specifics (i.e., root cause, etc.) around the issues I knew about, but found several other problems that needed to be addressed, some of which impacted the safety of the vehicle. Thorough/Detailed once over...check!Emad was very communicative during the entire time FAS had my car, calling and texting with regular updates and discussing all of the details that Steven found going through my car. Carlos and his team are genuine, knowledgeable, and all-around good guys! I'm glad to have met them and will definitely be bringing my car (and maybe my others) back to FAS. Thank you FAS, specifically Carlos, Emad, and Steven, for your quality work, excellent customer service, and just being good honest people! If you are looking for a place to get your car serviced, take your car to FAS! LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!The transmission went out on my vehicle so I went in search of a good repair shop. I found Foreign Auto Services. They have a consistent high rating on Yelp and Google. I called and spoke with Mike. This gentlemen was very experienced and able to quickly assess my needs. They emailed me a detailed report on my overall vehicle condition with photo s included in order to help me make an informed decision. The price and level of service are unmatched. If you re in need of any type of auto repair make this your first stop, you won t be sorry.Ask for Mike or Carlos.

Excellent service. Highly recommend. Getting an appointment was easy, they took my car in right away, within an hour I had a very detailed inspection report with pictures and estimates. Ended up leaving my car for a few hours and they were done on time. Happy with the work and customer service.

BEWARE!!! This business is a SCAM and the manager there a big thief!!! They don t know the ABC of the alignment and wanted me to spend money and get other services done , before they can do the requested service , ie alignment. I took their inspection report to another certified shop and they told me that almost NONE of the repairs identified in his inspection reports wereNeeded at that time.This person is a big time cheater. DONOT listen to what he says in his inspection report. Do yourself a favor and get your vehicle inspected from a certified and trusted shop.I completely agree with Amit and some other customers who gave them the same reviews. This place is a SCAM!!!! STAY AWAY !!!
