A tree limb fell on my Tesla and it was sent here. It needed a windshield and had several dents on the top of the car. I had told my insurance agent that I was not very upset about the dents, and if it was going to cost a ridiculous amount of money that I would deal with whatever that looks like. I didn't hear anything for 3 weeks. I was trying to get a hold of someone to talk to them about my car. When they finally responded, they told me that I had to speak with my insurance. I then was told that my car was totaled due to water damage which I did not understand. When I went to clean out my car, the first two photos are what my car looked like. There was no cover over my vehicle at all, and when I got the paperwork I found out that they hadn't tested my car until they had let it sit in the rain for a night. I told them that the water damage had been done there. They then blamed the fact that my car wasn't covered in plastic on the tow truck company, saying that they're not responsible for the vehicles that are in their lot to be covered with plastic. I then asked the representative to cover my car in plastic because the interior was still in good condition. And when I came back a week later, the second two photos are the job that they had done to cover it in plastic. I am now working on making them not a Tesla-certified business and I think that Tesla agrees with me in saying that this is not how they expect their vehicles to be treated. I also was dealt with a lot of disrespect from the agent that was representing my car. She would not let me finish a sentence, telling me that my car wasn't worth anything even if there wasn't any water damage because it was a 2015 with 130,000 miles. I then proceeded to tell her that a Tesla is warranteed up to 500,000 mi for the battery and the reason that I had bought a 2015 was so I could be grandfathered in to the free charges for life. So please don't disrespect me in how I chose to purchase a vehicle, and I know for a fact that it was worth more than before they let it get rained on and ruined my media control center.

No one wants to take their car to a body shop, but it's one of those necessary things in life because accidents happen. This is actually my second time using CARSTAR Chantilly, the first time I hit a dear, and this time I got hit from behind while I was parked. And both times the work performed on my car has been impeccable, absolutely no complaints. They are Tesla certified and they just do it right. If I ever need body work again, God forbid, that's where I'm taking my car.

We will not use this auto body shop again. We were in a not-at-fault car accident on February 29, 2024. Our car was towed in to this shop on Thursday, March 7. Early in the morning of Friday, March 8, we completed the work authorization form and provided (via email) the estimate of record from our auto insurance. After not receiving any updates for several business days, we called the shop on March 14 to request an update. We were told that we would receive a call back when an update could be obtained. We did not receive a call back. On March 15, we called again, and were told that we had not provided the estimate. I explained that we had provided it on March 8. I was then told that the estimate had gone to the shop email's spam folder. By this date (March 15), however, we were on the last day of our rental car allowance of $900. (We had been given a mid-size SUV given the large size of our family; and it was not a luxury rental by any means.) Finally, the shop addressed our vehicle and on March 19, we were informed that it was totaled, and we promptly pursued securing another vehicle to replace the totaled one. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for the rental much longer than we should have due to the shop's failure to follow up with incoming vehicles. After all, our work authorization form had not gone to spam. Had the shop addressed the vehicle shortly after it was towed in, we calculated that we would have been out of pocket for the rental about one week less than we were. This was an unplanned expense on top of an already stressful situation given that it resulted from a car accident for which we were not at fault. We have documentation of the dates provided here, and are requesting that the shop reimburse us for one of the weeks that we were out of pocket on our rental. We can provide documentation of that rental car payment. Thank you!

CARSTAR Chantilly AUTO BODY did a fantastic job repairing a rear door & quarter panel + wheel . They did a magnificent job matching & blending the soul red metallic paint with the rest of the car. The scraped up black painted wheel was taken to a wheel specialist who cleaned up & repainted it perfectly. I couldn t be happier with their work. I d recommend to anyone who needs collision work done.

This is the fourth time we ve had one of our vehicles fixed by CARSTAR Chantilly Auto Body. They do an excellent job of communicating throughout the process. Once parts arrived and work began, I received daily text updates. Repairs look great to my untrained eye and the older repairs have held up over the years. Highly recommend!

A great job! can't tell where the collision damage is.One recommendation is to give the best possible estimated time for vehicle to be ready.Most of my frustration in the entire process was the incredibly long wait time for Tesla parts to become available to complete the repair .

They did an excellent job on my car after the accident. They had enterprise rental within premises so there was no need to run around for rentals after drop off or pick up.They kept me posted on every update through texts so I knew what was going on with the repairs.The people were very nice and professional.I highly recommend this place for anyone in need.

Had to get service at this location for my 2016 Subaru Outback after a hit and run from another driver on my front right bumper. They did the majority of the work repairs, but the front passenger wheel well trim clips were never replaced. After contacting their manager, assigned adjuster for the shop, and all numerous times after picking up the car and pointing it out all I ever got was excuses, delays, and the onus being on me to keep calling. I honestly realize at this point they have absolutely no intent to finish the job. I will never go here again.

I would actually give this most recent experience 4.7 stars. Five stars for the quality of the repair it was perfect. Five stars for the condition of the vehicle upon return to me they very thoroughly cleaned the vehicle inside and out, my wife commenting that it seemed like a new car. Four stars for keeping me informed, although they politely and quickly answered all of my questions. I would have any of our cars repaired there again. I have had our cars repaired at Chantilly Autobody 6 times in the last twelve years (only two repairs due to an accident that was not our fault our teenage daughter. :-) ) Also, having a Enterprise Rental Car desk at the repair facility is very convenient.

I had a repair of my rear bumper at this Carter location. The service is very good and the repair looks really nice. The owner and the employee here seems to very care about their work and service, they have gone through all the repair detail to me. Definitely recommend if you need a car body repair.

My husband and I have used this body shop several times over the years and the repairs were great. This particular experience was not what I expected when I picked up my vehicle. The airbag and seatbelt safety systems are not working properly with warning indicators hi lighted on the navigation screen. I called back several minutes after leaving body repair shop to ask why was the issue not addressed when mechanics supposedly reset my system. I was told the warning system was displayed when I dropped my vehicle off which is flat out false. I was then told to bring vehicle back but not sure if mechanic or tech would be able to reset vehicle settings.As a priority over everything, I would ve taken my vehicle to BMW to address the warning systems issue before ever dropping it off for repairs if the lights had been on. I would ve also received a notification fromBMW that there was a system issue. At this point I am disappointed and unsatisfied.

Please DO NOT go to this car repair shop. I came in for a guardrail bump, everything was working fine and they then told my insurance that everything inside was damaged and it was totaled. They said the damages were over 15k. It was a brand new car. They said since they took it apart and threw away all my old pieces they can t even put it back together. They re going to completely junk my car. My car was indeed repaired at this place, under my company and now I have to drop another 20k to replace my car. The repair shop was very uncooperative, refusing to put it back together or give us or the insurance company more information. They said another estimate would be 2k.

I am giving one star only because there is no other low ranking available.My car was kept under the wait and they said earlier in the emails that they will start working on it. After couple of calls and constant check they told me that they started on taking the car apart.I went to the store to check as I was not sure if they are communicating correctly, and the back desk manger told me that they have already taken the car apart but when I called her next day, she got frustrated and stopped working on the car and asked my insurance to tow it to another body shop.Even if there was a delay, they should have been honest about it from the start when they first took my car but they were not transparent in their wait times and dint allow me to see the car when I went to check. And told me that the car has already been taken apart.I will have to pay out of my pocket for rental transportation once my insurance stop paying.I will never recommend this body shop to anyone.Very annoyed about overall experience.

I have been a happy customer for 11 years. They do really great quality work efficiently. But it seems different nowadays.Customer service needs improvement. Front desk gets offended when I asked for details on the repair status and she gets defensive when I say, factually, that the repair work is taking more than their estimated number of business days (e.g. 20 business days from the day parts arrive). She starts giving excuses such as "these things are more complicated than it seems". The detailed job estimate allocated 36 hours for the actual repair work itself e.g. less than 5 business days (assuming a 40-hour work week). It is already 4.5 weeks (184 hours) or 23 business days and they won't commit to a specific timeline again. Perhaps the shop has gotten too big and too busy for individual customers in favor of corporate customers. I really like this shop but I might consider less busy shops next time.

TESLA Nightmare!!! I put my Tesla Model S in this shop with 49,000 miles and it was returned to a damaged high voltage battery after 2 Months of neglect in their outdoor lot. I dropped my vehicle off January 3rd with Chantilly Autobody for repairs to my vehicle, I alerted the shop on January 16th of the battery on my vehicle approaching 0%. on January 18th my battery completely discharged to 0% at which point I notified the shop that my battery was fully discharged. My vehicle remained fully discharged from the 18th to the 23rd of January. Only after I sent documented communication via screen shot on the 23rd of January from my Tesla APP alerting the body shop for the second time that my battery was my vehicle charged, after being fully discharged for 6 days. Fast forward 2 weeks, I drive by the body shop to put eyes on my Vehicle. To my surprise my front left tire is completely flat and the vehicle is sitting on the rim. I make the shop aware, and they assure me they will "fix it". 7 days later I return to put eyes on my vehicle again, and my Vehicle is still sitting on the Rim with a completely flat tire. My Vehicle was returned to me on March 5th at which point I made the "service tech" aware of the treatment of my vehicle and I would need to take my vehicle to Tesla to ensure no damage was done to my Vehicle while in their possession. Upon inspection via the Tesla service center it has been determined that my battery will need to be replaced at a cost of $15,000. The Shop has already claimed they are not responsible and I will be pursuing this matter legally as the service manager has refused to communicate on the matter.

I am currently facing a disheartening situation with CARSTAR Chantilly Auto Body regarding the repair of my car s suspension system a crucial matter of safety. Here s where things stand:1. Unanswered Emails: Despite my preference for email communication, my messages have gone unanswered. I m left in the dark about the status of my car s repair, which is not just frustrating but also quite distressing.2. Quality of Parts Unclear: The lack of clarity on the quality of parts used for the repair is worrying. The suspension system is vital for the car s safety, and not knowing whether they have used reliable parts is unsettling.3. Even though I d receive text progress updates, which were at best generalized. When I d call I could never get detailed progress information, ie, the person who does updates wasn t in. It seemed that they didn t care I had a rental car and insurance that needed to be updated.I was told at the beginning of November that they had to wait for the paint to dry, then put back together and then will go to mechanical. A week later I received a text saying the same thing.A week later, the muffler that was ordered was damaged and needed a replacement. Another week or two later, waiting on suspension parts.All in all, each week I needed to call both my insurance and car rental for extensions. Someone should have called me and explain what was going on, like I said l, the texts were very generalized.

They did a very nice job with the repairs, but it took a long time (6 weeks). I do have an older vehicle so parts availability was a difficulty, but it was almost a week after I dropped off the vehicle before they had given it a first look . Communication and updates were handled well enough.

Paint match was good. Bumper repair, rear sensors not mounted correctly.I went in for a rear bumper repair. It took a week for the job to be completed which seems normal. The shop texted me several times during the repair process. When i picked the vehicle up the rear parking sensors were not installed correctly. They should have been flush but they are askew. The gaps where the bumper mounts to the body were rough, almost like they hadnt been sanded.While its a good body shop u feel that the attention to detail is not there, or at least wasnt in this repair. I would very much like to give them the opportunity to remount the sensors and sand down the bumper properly. And i will update my review when/if that happens.EDITED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING:And the response to my review shows that they don't pay attention to detail. My review wasn't positive, it wasn't a great experience. It was milquetoast at best. In fact when I have a few hours I'll be going back to the business and demanding that they repair their repair. I'm stunned at their response to my review.

These guys did such great work and are super professional. I brought my car in on Monday through state farm for a front bumper repair. There is an enterprise location there as well which provided me a rental car. They gave me an estimate of 4 days to get the work done and finished it in 3 days. What I love was everyday I got either a call or text message providing me with updates on my vehicle. Not to mention the work was immaculate you can't even tell there was a scratch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I was very impressed with the service from this company. CARSTAR is part of a streamlined appraisal repair service (STARS) offered through USAA. The appraisal process was fast and efficient, resulting in a detailed estimate of what repairs were needed. CARSTAR kept me informed every day through text messages or phone calls; letting me know what stage of the repair process my car was in. Once complete, I inspected the repairs and couldn t tell the difference between how it looks now and before the damage. They also clean the entire vehicle. Enterprise Rental is collocated with CARSTAR at their Chantilly location; which is an added perk.

Great place to get the car body fixed. Replaces are with oem parts and super service with enterprise rental in the same building for convenience. I recommend asking CJ to work on the car. He is superb.

I wish that there is a 0.5 for review.Good things-Front desk communication is good.Horrible things- Nothing beyond the Front desk was a decent experience.The damage to the car could not be seen with out sleeping on the floor and seeing under the car for scratches. No scratches were visible on the car when I dropped off the car for Front bumper change. It was just a run over the curb incident. They got approval from insurance to repaint the doors which was absolutely not required. They did not even remove one small door ding saying it was not from incident but repainted the doors which absolutely had zero damage. They changed the rubber coverings on the door. They changed the rocker bracket which I had mentioned many times that it is a new one and does not need replacement. They said it broke while removing so had to replace it. I believe they charged lot more than what was required. I had left many messages to the front desk to talk to any one who can explain what is being done. They would not even send me the estimate they created for insurance upon multiple requests.The only chance I got to talk to anyone beyond the front desk was when I went to pick up the car. It was really frustrating.All in all I feel they did a lot more work than what was required without letting me know. They say it is company policy for every question I had. Some of the answers were so unacceptable and they would say it is company policy.I would not recommend any one to this place.Service: Body & Trim

The work was fine, once complete. Simple project: remove front bumper cover, paint new bumper cover to match body color, reinstall cover and spoiler. From estimate to finished repairs took 8 weeks. Project manager didn t communicate well regarding process, resulting in 3 week delay alone. Once parts were received, work took two weeks total. I received canned text updates from my service representative but after the first promise date passed she could not tell me when the car might be ready. I overheard other customers with similar complaints whose paid-for rentals didn t last long enough to get their cars fixed, leaving them stranded or out-of-pocket because of delays. I overheard another customer say the new bumper looked great but none of the proximity sensors worked after initial repairs where made. This shop has gone downhill in the past 3-4 years (unfortunately I ve been a frequent customer). I m going to think hard before I take more work there.Service: Painting
