We stayed here for a recent overnight trip and we just loved it. The owner, Mike, was so wonderful and accommodating to help us with a dietary need. He went above and beyond to help us.Breakfast was absolutely wonderful and having tea and coffee right outside of our room in the morning was so nice. There were even robes in the room so you could put the robe over your PJs and get a nice cup of coffee or tea.The room was wonderful, nice and cozy. We were there in January but it never got cold in the room. We had a beautiful view of the Chesapeake Bay from our room Everything was comfortable and very clean.Lastly, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at breakfast when Mike sat with us and told us very interesting stories about the Eastern shore, the Cape Charles area and its history. In closing if you ever find yourself in the Cape Charles area and you're in need of a bed and breakfast, we cannot recommend this location highly enough! Thank you Mike.

HIDDEN GEMThis bed and breakfast is truly a hidden gem on the Eastern Shore. We made a brief one-night stay for my birthday enroute to NC from NJ. We stayed in the Lighthouse Bayview room. It was beautifully decorated, pleasantly comfortable and our every need had been anticipated. There were many locations around the grounds where couples could spend some alone time together but by far our favorite was the beautiful secluded beachfront where there were some unique shelling finds. Michael was a wonderful host/chef and we especially enjoyed conversing around the table while feasting on our delicious egg casserole and homemade muffins. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief respite here and plan to return again when we have more time to enjoy all the amenities.

This is a lovely, peaceful place to spend the night. The owner is courteous and professional, yet makes you feel like family as soon as you step in the door. The staff is extremely friendly, warm and welcoming. The breakfast was a muffin, an egg dish, sausage, and a fruit bowl served in a shell, all delicious and home made. Luigi the house cat is gentle and loves everyone. The backyard and beach are gorgeous and offer uninterrupted views of the water. Would highly recommend.

Great view and was having a good time until the last night... which completely ruined my entire vacation. When I arrived during check-in hours, there was a note on the front door directing me to my room. Mike ran my credit card the next morning after breakfast - that was all the check-in there was. The last night, after dark, my room was SWARMED with bugs, 100s of them - later told they were fruit flies. I couldn't find any bug spray around the house, nor was there any information about an after-hours phone number to call, in the info book in the room. I had to drive to the grocery store which is over 10 miles away, late at night, to buy bug spray, and then had to smell it all night in the warm, stuffy room - I was afraid to open the door any more in case more bugs came in. I told Mike about it in the morning and he BLAMED ME for opening the door to the balcony, then copped a nasty, horrible attitude for the rest of my stay. Apparently there is a problem with fruit flies in the house that I was never informed about - and then you would think that they would regularly empty the trash cans in the room everyday because of this, which they didn't. Also, if you're a tea drinker, bring your own tea bags, they only provide plain green tea bags - and refills at breakfast only offered to coffee drinkers.

The Baywood was the perfect spot for my wife and I to relax on our way back to Vermont from our Florida vacation. Everything at The Baywood was wonderful. From the beautiful private room overlooking the Chesapeake Bay to waking to the aroma of the freshly brewed coffee right outside the room first thing in the morning, nothing could be more relaxing. Add to that the wonderful breakfast that followed and the hospitality of Michael himself and you have the perfect place to quietly enjoy your time. The only mistake we made was staying only one night.

Summer Breeze,The Baywood is a relaxing hideaway about 7 minutes south of downtown Cape Charles. It s a fine Eastern Shore B&B surrounded by trees on the edge of the Chesapeake. Your host, Mike and Sharon, serve a delicious breakfast and know the region s history well. We both love this place. Thankyou!!Tony and Linda Fusco

The property is gorgeous and well maintained. It s right off The Bay Bridge and Tunnels but it is secluded. It s so quiet and peaceful. The B & B has their own private beach. You can sit on the deck and watch birds, eagles, dolphins and ships. The rooms are spacious. The owner Mike is so friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night on my way back from my one week vacation but it was the highlight of my stay. I ll definitely be coming back. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

This was our first B&B experience, and based on how we were treated at The Baywood, we will certainly do this again. The rooms were spacious with great views. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Mike was a gracious host, spending time at breakfast to engage the guests. We will definitely return.

Only 6 min from the north end of the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel. Limited parking. Excellent property for a bed and breakfast. Isolated from neighbors. It's own beach. Owners built the home specifically to be a bed and breakfast. Only 3 rooms available at a time, 2 face the bay with balcony. Very relaxing the moment you come onto the property. Wonderful sunset viewing. Food excellent. Absolutely pure deep aquifer water from the faucet, best I've ever tasted. Breakfast made from fresh eggs from chickens on location. This is the first time I've experienced staying at a bed & breakfast that was also the residence of the owners, which was a bit uneasy for me at first but I got used to it. You could come & go without interacting with them too much, even going out to the backyard & the beach & the huge back porch which has a gas fireplace. Two very people-friendly pet cats. Ground's decently kept, pretty plantings. Plenty of eating places & scenery at Cape Charles 15 minutes away. Owners quiet, friendly, lay back... not an atmosphere for loud partying.

This was my and my girlfriend s experience at a B&B and it could not have been any better. The room was clean and comfortable. The property was beautiful and well kept. The owner, Mike, was a wonderful host. He set up the fire pit up for us to use and we had a great time watching the sunset with a nice fire. He also gave us some great ideas for day trips and places to eat even in the middle of the current Covid-19 crisis. The hospitality industry is taking a big hit and if you want a nice getaway, you should stay here. He made us some delicious breakfasts and his homemade muffins are great. I wish I had the recipe. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay and I ll be back!!!

Absolute BEST vacationing experience we have EVER had!!! Beautiful views, perfect room with amazing balcony, coffee served in the private sitting area in the morning, breakfast was absolutely superb. We will never go anywhere else now. Mike and family were very hospitable, and our son's first beach experience couldn't have been more perfect.

We were delighted! Every aspect of our stay at Baywood exceeded our expectations. The winding driveway took us away from busy traffic to tranquility on the Chesapeake. Spacious, comfortable and complete to meet all our needs, the room, sitting area and bathroom were spotless and inviting. During the night a storm developed so at 5 am we went downstairs to find our host, Mike, had already baked muffins and brewed coffee anticipating our early awakening. Mike was an amazing host and conversation continued as the weather calmed and he finished preparing our fabulous breakfast. Oh yes! If we travel this way again, we will be back!

My wife and I stayed at the Baywood for two night in April. This is excellent place for get away. Our room was spacious, with a lot of light and huge balcony overlooking the bay. We were watching beautiful sunsets from that balcony. I was able to take really amazing photos of the sunset. We had entire beach just to ourselves. Breakfast was awesome and 'homy' and service was great. We truly loved our conversations with Mike, the owner of the hotel, as well as with other guests in the hotel. Mike is amazing person with deep knowledge about American history as well as local attractions. He really let us feel like we were home. Without any doubt we will come back here again.

My husband and I stayed here about 2 months ago. By the next day, we had rebooked another stay for the fall. It was awesome. Very calm and quiet atmosphere. The beach is literarily in your backyard and the view from the room was awesome. The host was so friendly and kind. It was our 1st time on the shore and we had no idea how much we had been missing out. This destination and B&B is spectacular.

Stayed at The Baywood for the second time in two years and it has consistently been a wonderful experience. Mike is very friendly and informative about things to do in the area and even furnished us with maps to find a couple local places of interest. Breakfast is amazing as well - you'll be too full for lunch! Very clean and beautiful view, beach is very private and provides opportunities to dolphin watch and enjoy amazing sunsets. We will make a point of returning again!

I absolutely loved this place. It's so peaceful and quiet I didn't want to leave. Mike made us feel so welcomed that it didn't take long for me to feel at home and he made us a delicious home cooked breakfast every morning. The inn and the grounds were beautiful. The rooms were very nice and clean. The private beach was the best part for me, We had it all to ourselves all weekend. I hope to be able to return here soon. Thanks Mike:-) This place is awesome!

This is our first time staying at a bed & breakfast. When we pulled into the driveway Mike greeted us and helped us with our luggage and gave us a tour. He was very friendly and laid back and really made us feel right at home. I loved meeting the two cats Oscar and Luigi. The beach is secluded and when we went on it we were the only ones out there which was so peaceful. The landscaping is beautiful in the backyard and there are rocking chairs and a screened in porch. We were looking for a relaxing getaway from the city and this was what we hoped for and more! Mike makes breakfast every morning and it was delicious and felt like we were eating at an old friends house. The sunsets are amazing around here and I can't say enough positive things about our stay here. We have one more night here but I have no doubt it will be as wonderful as the first so I'm just writing the review now. Thank you to Mike for a perfect vacation! We will be back.

We chose to stay at Baywood B&B for our 50th wedding anniversary, Mike who runs the place is a down to earth person, where nothing is too much trouble for him. Sunsets were awesome, the bed was so comfortable , great coffee ( made for you at 6-30am) and fantastic breakfast, We stayed in the Lighthouse room which had a walk out balcony and a fantastic soaking tub.

If you are looking for a quiet place to get away this is a great place. Mike and Sharon the owners of the place are extremely nice and laid back individuals. They give you the southern hospitality and Mike serves up a great breakfast. The rooms are nice and quiet with a view of the ocean. The beach is private and was exciting to swim in. You get to experience the wildlife where we saw blue crabs, hermit crabs, a horseshoe crab and dolphins playing later in the evening. The eastern shore area has a lot of history behind it also. And a heads up if you use the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel it is a $15 toll for cars.

It was great! Mike is a great host and made is feel very welcome. Easy in and out. Hearty breakfast. There are cats, in case you have allergies. The cats aren't allowed in guest bedrooms but have free range of the house. The backyard had direct access to the beach, which was wonderful to walk along! We loved it!

My husband and I stayed at the inn in August 2017, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Since it was our first time at a bed and breakfast, our host Mike gave us a very friendly welcome and tour of the house and garden. Mike's homemade breakfast was delicious and shared with two other couples who were a joy to meet.We found the home to spotlessly clean and comfortable throughout and all amenities in perfect order. We look forward to staying there again next time our travels take us to through this area.

This is a fantastic place to stay while visiting the Eastern Shore. The views are incredible, and the owners are great. Our room faced the bay, and had a lovely deck to enjoy a cool evening beneath the stars. The beach was awesome. I saw birds, skates, fish, and crabs. Tip: swim to the right of the steps, away from the poles in the water so you can avoid swimming too close to the skates. The breakfast was amazing. The quiche we had was good, and the muffin was superb. They have two kitties on the grounds that were totally up for ear scratches and pets. No worries though if you're not a fan of cats, kitties don't go in the bedrooms.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a much needed escape at the Baywood B&B. Mike, our host, was more than a delight to stay with. He accommodated our needs, and made our stay absolutely wonderful. If I could sum up this place in one word, it would be RELAXING. Being able to sit out on a balcony (which overlooks the beach), and watch the sunset was total bliss. The breakfasts were phenomenal, the room was well equipped, and the area was like stepping back into a simpler time. All that, and the cost to stay was less than most hotels that one would care to stay at. I highly recommend the Baywood.
