Have been going to Parkway Shell in Burke for Emissions and Safety inspections since they opened as a Shell station. Had been burned previously by recommended work at other locations. There is a conflict of interest set up by the state. Inspections don't pay much so there is an incentive to find something to fix. I've never had a problem with these guys. On one occasion the dealer had cross threaded a lug nut. There was a delay in getting a replacement so they didn't charge me for the new one. For the person who was told they had "dangerously low brake pads.. worst they had seen". VA says more than 2/32", or replace. Any auto repair operation that had been in business more than a couple of years would have seen metal on metal brakes. They'll still stop you, but with more noise than danger. I'd trust the guys who didn't get me to spend more money.

Thanks to the guys at Shell, especially Earl who came out in a terrible rain storm and helped me jump my car while I was stranded in the Safeway parking lot. Shell has a great bunch of technicians working for them. Highly recommended shop and fill-up station!

We had work done on our car recently here and will use them in the future as well. Dale was friendly, and helpful. He explained what was being done and was up front about prices. They were prompt and honest.

Took car in for an oil change. Noticed a few days later that they broke off a piece of the front of my car. Went back to ask them about it. They denied it. I ve never been in a wreck and the only way this piece could have been snapped off was with the hood open; like when getting an oil change. I will NEVER do business here again!! They had the opportunity to make it right and failed.

I have been taking all of my cars here for a decade. Dale is awesome - he's never steered me wrong. I took my 15-yr old FJ Cruiser to Parkway Shell and they replaced the brakes - pads, calipers, rotors, fluid and all for less than the other two shops in the same plaza. And they don't try and sell you on anything you don't need. Dale even once told me during a safety inspection on my Prius that my brake pads were within limits but would most likely not be for next year. That was it - no quotes or recommendation to replace them right there. That's an honest broker. Highly recommended!

I've been going to this station for 10 years getting inspections done...NEVER been taken advantage of. Dale is great! He caught some hidden wear on my tire during an inspection and saved me from having a blowout that would definitely have happened. Highly recommend this station.

NEVER COME HERE FOR AN INSPECTION. Many have written that the auto inspections are quick, and there is a reason for that: they may not be checking your car at all. My vehicle passed inspection despite having dangerously low brake pads. I took my car for an oil change after passing my inspection and was told that my brake pads were "the worst" they have ever seen. It was dangerous for me to drive my car on those brakes, and I would have never known it. NEVER GO HERE FOR AN INSPECTION. Go to the ExxonMobil down the street where there was a line that took TIME, and the inspectors actually CHECK their cars.

Great service for inspections and emissions. Never had a problem with them and Earl is the best.Only would be that cigarette and gas prices are slightly above other places in the area, but the crew makes it worth it.

I moved back to Virginia 5 years ago after living in other state. For the past 5 years I have been going to this Shell for state inspection, brake changes, recently alignment (after buying tires from Walmart), etc. All those years people working there have been very nice. And they only recommended services that I needed - I haven't had any incident of "upselling". The price is fair as well. I recommend highly recommend this place.

Thought I had a slow tire leak in my Benz. They quickly found the rim was cracked! I was about to go on a long drive and they special ordered the rim and had it fixed in two hours. These guys rock. My new favorite local auto repair shop!!

I've gone to these guys several times, and each time, I'm impressed with their honesty. More than once, they've had the opportunity to charge me for things they didn't. For example, today I took my car in because the brake warning light has been coming on intermittently. They didn't charge me at all because it just needed fluid. I've had bad experiences with other auto repair shops in the area. From now on, these guys get all my business!

Very inconvenient, was told I could not drop my car off for a state inspection, that I would have to sit in my car while I wait in line. No sense. I ll gladly drive further away for better service

You can look up a lot of things online, but there s nothing like having a trustworthy mechanic to go to when you have questions. These guys are great and I highly recommend them. It s hard to find good mechanics like this in Fairfax!

Took my Dodge Ram in for emissions inspection, and tech noticed radiator was fraying. Returned shortly thereafter to have radiator replaced, and noticed antifreeze leaking onto my driveway. Took truck back to Parkway Shell, and Danny checked it out, determined a part was defective, and replaced it free of charge! This was over the Thanksgiving time frame, too.I don't expect things to always go completely smoothly, but I do expect repair shops to fix the customer's problem, even if it take more than one attempt. Danny did that, and didn't make me feel like I was burdening him in the process. He explained what they found, what they were going to do, and THEN DID IT.The next time I need an auto repair, I'm going to Parkway Shell! :-)

Daniel is the hardest working Family Man I know and I m blessed to have him in my life to rely on for anything I mean anything !! This is such a great gas station/auto repair shop. We take all our family cars there s and always get quick, polite and fair service done. Highly recommend this place!

Queue-up inspection stations are my favorite. You can tell by looking about how long you'll have to wait, and these guys are quick.

Always go to this shop for emissions and safety. I usually work on my car myself, but always head there if I have a question that needs anwsering. They're honest and polite.

I went for safety inspection with Jeep 2014, they told me that the brakes need to be changed, I did not believe that, I went to POHANKA for 2 nd opinion the car pass safety inspection without any problems

Really great mechanics. When there is a simple fix that is cheap they offer that one, can t ask for more.
