Great service! I took my vehicle to get inspected here and even though my vehicle failed Leroy helped me with the repairs to get it to pass inspection. Leroy was respectful and did the repairs in an efficient and timely manner. Overall I was very happy with the service I received.

Leroy has taken good care of my vehicles. He seems to have superior knowledge and is always willing to take you in when you drop by, even if he s busy. He does quality work and doesn t charge you an arm and a leg. He is always honest. Thank you, Leroy, for serving the community well. God bless you brother.

I went in for oil change and tire rotation but when paying the bill I see he charged me for windshield washer fluid $3.99 and antifreeze $17.99, something I DID NOT ask for. I later got home and checked the levels of both and seen NOTHING was added to either, BOTH fluid levels were still low. So I called his office and told him about this and also told him he would never screw me over again. He later came to my place of employment and gave me $10.00 back and said he didn't want me feeling that I was treated unfair in his services. I should have been refunded $22.00, not $10.00, anyhow guys/gals check you bill for SO CALLED services done, he my be trying to screw you over to.

We didn't know Leroy until we hit a large piece of retread truck tire on Interstate 81 on our drive home to Philadelphia from Eastern Tennessee. We took the first exit we came to which as for Buena Vista, VA so we could get off the highway and call AAA. It was late on Thursday afternoon and they were no help. They told us it would be at least 75 minutes before a tow truck could get to us, that the car would have to be towed 40 miles to the closest AAA shop, and that we and our dog would have to find an Uber or Lyft to follow behind. At that point we searched Google for local repair shops. The mechanic at the first one we found said he was too busy but to try Leroy's Automotive a little way up the road. Leroy was amazing. It was almost closing time but he put our car up on the lift and figured out what was wrong. He tinkered a bit and drove the car, then he tinkered some more and drove it again. He then explained what damage had been done and what he had done to allow it to continue to be driven and got us back on our way. And after all of that, when we asked what we owed him he refused any payment. We are very thankful we found Leroy's Automotive. He turned out helpless and hopeless feelings around and allowed us to make the remaining 350 miles home. He is a an honest and highly skilled mechanic and we would recommend him to anyone.

Leroy did a good job in diagnosing My truck's electrical problem and even made good on replacing the battery that went dead within 2 months due to the electrical issue. Leroy is fairly priced and responsive. You also has a good handle on the work that he has scheduled to give you a realistic estimate of when you should get your auto back. Thanks Leroy.

Earlier this year I Had issues with a bad grinding sound in my wheel well, this was the only place that could squeeze me in the busy week. Called ahead and asked if they could just take a look at it (was shocked that they charge for an estimate, coming from Colorado you always get your car checked and estimated for free). Service was very speedy and accommodating. Said that the brake pads needed to be replaced and that it was 100% cause of the noise. Went ahead with the repair, which was done in record time only to have it still grinding on the drive home took it to H&J tire in Lexington, super nice and checked everything for free! Said there was a rock wedged up in the system and got it out no problem. Noise gone.So it makes me wonder that Leroy's service may just have been too speedy that they really didn't do a thorough check, which is pretty bad since it costs. This was such a simple issue, and sure mistakes happen, but I wouldn't trust coming here for something more concerning unfortunately.

My most recent trip to Leroy's was yesterday. As always, he had my poor little car up and going in short order, at a fair price, and with a smile to boot. I've been taking my cars to Leroy for more years than I can count up, and have never once felt overcharged, misdiagnosed, or mistreated in any way. Both he and his work are reliable. My dad was a mechanic, and while I'm no expert, I do know enough to smell a rat after while. Leroy has done a fine job of keeping our various vehicles in good shape over the years, and is great about giving me a heads up when something is going to need attention in the near future. In the medical world, this is called "anticipatory guidance." In the car world, it's called keeping you from breaking down on the side of the road. There are three people who cannot retire before I die -- my doctor, my dentist, and my mechanic. Thanks, Leroy, for all you do to make this world a better place!MAY 16, 2023 -- TIME FOR AN UPDATE!I'm still taking my cars to Leroy, and I still stand by everything I said in my review 7 years ago!

I've trusted Leroy to keep our cars in good shape for years. When he says he's the Tire Man, he's not joking, but what he really is to us, is a Family Man. He won't let a car/truck/van out of his shop unless it's safe to put your loved ones in, just like he would his own family. Brandon and Leroy are honest, well trained and a good value for their service.Leroy and Brandon keep getting it done. My picky father in law won't trust any of the shops or dealerships in Charlottesville. He brings his Lexus to Buena Vista for Leroy to maintain. He says the price is good too! If Leroy and Brandon can keep him happy, they will you too!

Don t overlook this gem. Leroy s does great work and has super fast turnaround. Always friendly, always professional.He genuinely cares about the quality of the work he does ... and wants to help you keep your vehicle in safe, good running condition.He takes the time to explain the differences in the parts that he sells.Give him a call to give you a quote! He won t disappoint you.

Ever since we moved into the area, my family has been going to Leroy's to get our cars fixed, from simple fixes to hard ones. Once you find a good mechanic you should never switch. Fair prices and genuinely cares and helps out in any way possible.

I have been going to Leroy s for years! He has always done great and is reasonably priced. Things are always done professionally and in a timely manner. Leroy has maintained my cars for six years. He does good work; he is honest and his prices are fair. Leroy is a straight-shooter -- he calls them as he sees them, and he always lets me know if something is wrong, or will be needing attention soon. Also if there is something that needs attention but it isn't something he works on, he will tell you so. I trust him as he's never been wrong!

The nicest, most reliable, honest, reasonable auto mechanic with whom I have ever had the pleasure to do business. I heartily recommend him.If you are the out-of-town-parent of student attending college in Buena Vista or Lexington, Leroy is the mechanic you can rely on taking care of your student s car.

Don't use Leroy. I went to him years ago and got charged over $200.00 for a basic Oil Change. He fixed things that I didn't ask him to do and held my car hostage until I paid him for the work. When looking at the receipt I found He charged me $90.00 for a Radiator Cap. Go anywhere else in Town but here.I realize he has replied to this. So in reply I would like to add. He's not telling the truth. I took it in for an oil change. It cost $200. he kept my car until I paid him in full. I agree maybe my initial review was a too emotional so I have edited that. Bottom line here. He said $30.00 and charged $200 with a $90.00 radiator cap. For a poor college student that's a massive amount. Then he refused to work with me after the massive increase in price. He was rude and downright mean to me as well. Even years later I remember how insulting he was. I tell everyone I know to avoid using him.Payments were brought up. He said no. But I understand that. What I don't understand is why a run of the mill oil change cost $200.00Still don't believe he upcharges without telling the customer. Keep scrolling, you'll see proof from others with the same complaint.

Nothing but good experiences here. I ve been having car problems on and off for the last 6 months and have been into his shop multiple times. They always take time to check on my car even if I don t have an appointment. They are upfront with me about what needs to be fixed and the cost. If they don t have the time to fix my car by the time I need it, they ve referred me to other great mechanics in the area. Great business and a place I will always recommend to those in town.

I like Leroy's. You can get in quickly and the turnaround is fast. His repair estimates have been reasonable. It is a shame that some of the reviewers have complained that he finds things wrong with their cars. Sure, he tells you the bad news about your car and I have often had to pay for things that I didn't expect, but that is what a car "doctor" should do. Likewise, I don't like it, but I am grateful that my physician finds some hidden disease when I went I go for a medical check-up and I reluctantly but in hind-sight gratefully pay more than I had expected. If you don't like being told that your car needs help, wait to see your bill when you are broken down on the side of the freeway.

Goes above and beyond. I use to live in Buena Vista and Leroy & Leroy's Automotive has always been the "go to place" among citizens. I moved away and just recently started having issues with my car running rough and my check engine light came on. We ran it into Advance and got the codes. I just happened to post on my Facebook page. I wanted to see if I could get more info as I did not know what to expect as far as expense and down time for my car. Leroy saw my questions, and put me at rest as far as a ballpark for charges, downtime as well as his recommendation for fixing the problem. He did all of this knowing I lived 5 hours away. I know of no other shop or owner that would take their time to care for someone without monetary gain. I can't say enough good about Leroy's Automotive and Leroy!!!!!

This guy can be kind of rude at times, but I think that s just how he is. I m also pretty frustrated because he cut a hole in the panel under my car to get to the Oil plug without my permission. Really unprofessional. Can t believe he was really too lazy to unscrew a few bolts. Now I m going to have a hole under my car. He never even told me about it either. Just changed my oil myself and saw it there.

Very friendly, inviting and clean garage. Very helpful with with finding a place to get a muffler for my vehicle, to the point that he called several places and took my vehicle to them. Has always been very honest about what my vehicles need repaired/replaced on them and gives an estimate of price for repair/replacement. Quick and courteous service.

I got my tires changed at Leroy's and he didn't connect the pressure sensors because he said it was to hard. He also has talked down to me many times. I am sorry but there are much better options in Buena Vista for car care at a cheaper price. He is not professional.

I took my car in to have a gas leak checked after another local mechanic told me he couldn't figure out why fuel was leaking. In less than an hour I got a call from Leroy's that the work was done and it was done for less than I had expected. I was very satisfied with my experience here.

At first I was impressed with the speed with which the work was done, and at a reasonable price for what should have been a simple fix. This review was going to be a good one. But only ours later when my engine tried to tear itself apart, an issue that hadn't presented prior to it being "fixed", my mood understandably changed. I offered the opportunity for them to correct their mistake but was greeted instead with a defensive posturing and an attempt to make the issue sound more complicated than it was. I appreciate the attempt to explain the workings of a vehicle to a man who only brought it in to you because he doesn't have the time to do the work right himself. A mistake I'll not make again.
