Great place!!! Was recommended this place from the tow company after my car broke down. My car was dropped off to them after hours and they were able to get me taken care of and back on the road before close the next day. He even took time to show me what the repair was so I fully understood what he did. Pricing was very reasonable too. Extremely pleased with this place! Definitely recommend

We love Cowans. Great service and communication. Have worked on several of our vehicles many times and have been great each time at managing expectations, time frames and cost estimates, etc. Definitely recommended.

The service is outstanding!!!! I took a truck that I had purchased and had a full detailed inspection. The Cowan's repaired my headlights and provided me an exceptional inspection. I would recommend Cowan's Automotive based upon their Great Service!!!!! Reliability!!!!! and Honesty!!!!!!

I stopped at Cowan's and asked them to install a part. I needed it done pretty quick. They looked at the job and saw that it wasn't too complicated and got it done quickly for a very fair price. I couldn't have asked for more. I also got the impression that they are well organized and staffed well enough to handle several jobs at once. They're my go-to garage now. "JOB WELL DONE THE FIRST TIME "I contacted Cowan's Automotive and spoke with the technician regarding a severe oil leak. Without hesitation he made my appointment and had my vehicle in for repairs. He made the diagnosis, spoke with me and explained everything clearly.I was surprised when the repairs were made how fair the total cost was. Took my mazda to have clutch changed about a year ago and they installed it backwards promised a refund and nothing had to shell out more for it to be done right.If you observe the clutch was facing g backwards cause the rivets on the assembly are worn from rubbing against the housing of the transmissiom

Been to Cowan's for a few different issues with a couple of different cars. They are very courteous and always call and discuss the repair and cost before they do anything to your vehicle. I was sure I needed brake pads one time and they told me I did not need them, my brakes were fine instead of just changing them and charging me. I have had only great experiences with Cowan's and would highly recommend them. **Update....took my car to Cowan's again and had another great experience. Matt called me with updates each step of the way and even though they got the wrong part in they hustled to get the right one and get my car fixed so I wouldn't have to wait all weekend. I am thoroughly pleased with how great my car is driving now. My husband and I only go to Cowan's and would absolutely recommend them!

I need to get my car in ASAP and they had an appointment available the next day. The man in the office the two days I was there was nice and friendly, easy to joke with, and answered all my questions that I had. The price was amazing for all the jobs I needed done!! They done an oil change, switched out my windshield wiper motor, fixed my broken door handle on the inside, an alignment, and looked to fix another problem that I had. I would recommend this shop to anyone needing to get things done on their car! Will definitely go again when I need something done! Took my mom's car here to have oil leak fixed. Ended up costing her 200 bucks and 150 of that was labor cost. They did fix it but just like I expected, most mechanics charge you out the rear for doing the most simplest tasks just because they know most ppl don't know about cars. But other than that the guys were nice and they got it done quick

A/C was out in my truck. They diagnosed the problem quickly, had the parts in the next day, and fixed my A/C for less than I expected. This was my second experience here and both were great. Highly recommend!!! We have used Cowan Automotive for at least the last 8 years if not longer and they are always very thorough and professional. Have never taken a vehicle to Phil that he hasn t been able to fix. He always works us in even when he is very busy and always gets us repaired quickly. Always does excellent work!!

I have used Cowan automotive for a few jobs, and have always been pleased with the quality of their work, however this time I brought my car in to be looked at, which I was told it would be looked at first thing in the morning, that turned into an hour before they closed. When I was quoted the price to fix it, I told them it was too much I would go elsewhere. Then they told me I would have to pay $65.00 to get my keys back, because they looked at my car. I don t have a problem paying for estimates, but tell your customers upfront. I will never, ever take anything to them again

I was traveling cross country when my car broke down outside of Bristol. I picked Cowan Automotive at random and I got lucky with this choice. They were super friendly and got me back on the road with a new alternator that very morning. I can't say enough good things about this place, definitely recommend to anyone in the Bristol area who needs car repairs.Services: Electrical, Engine repair

Had them "repair" my fuel line which cost me approximately $300 only to have it start leaking again a few months later because all they did was put a metallic tape around the line. Highly unprofessional and very poor workmanship.Edit: I have since had the line replaced by another shop as there is absolutely no way i would trust Cowan's to touch my vehicle again after finding metallic tape wrapped around the initial leak. Unless they plan to reimburse for the second replacement, the 1 star rating will remain.

Very speedy, efficient, and do great work. This means a lot when you have to work and need your vehicle back asap. They might be just a little pricier than other shops, but Id rather pay a little more to have it done right the first time! They have worked on 2 vehicles for us. The first one was finished within 6 hours and the second one within 24 hours. Keep up the great work guys! (Debbie H.)

We've had our cars worked on here for many years. We won't go anywhere else. We moved to Johnson City, and we still drive down to Cowan's anytime we need anything. Best mechanic work there is. They are always professional, will never lie, or try to add on any extra work. You can be sure any work done here was done the right way!

My wife took her GMC Yukon here for the first time. Being nervous about establishing a new mechanic, she was relieved after everything was said and done. They were very informative, had excellent customer service, and competitive prices. So far, we'll definitely be coming back.

Tried to get a quote on a job and their "price calculator" said 800 parts and labor. Every other mechanic I called was cheaper and I'm pretty sure weren't using some app to figure out how much to charge. I ended up getting it done at ricks garage for half the price

Very helpful and understanding and didn't charge me a fortune for the repairs very reasonable. I would say if you need anything done as far as your vehicle goes take it to these guys they will treat you right. Thank You so much

HANDS DOWN THE BEST STILL IN TOWN!! Being a female and on a budget looking for a mechanic, can be intimidating. I am proud to say that's one less thing I will have to worry about. I used the chat to set the appt they replied back in a timely manner and got the car in the next day . They were inviting and welcomed us. We picked the car up and it was less money than what we were prepared to pay. THAT TYPE OF HONEST CANT BE BOUGHT! The car is fixed and my search is over for a mechanic. They now will get all my business from oil changes to any other issue that may arise. Thanks Cowan's for living up to all the great reviews you have. You've gained a new customer today!

Cowan Automotive has been my husband and my ONLY mechanic since 2005. The manner in which this business employees conducts themselves is professional and personal. Their work is always spot on. Prices are very competitive. The time frame has always been as told it would be. We have even had a vehicle towed 100 miles to get it to Cowan's! Great work!! Great people!!! Good prices!!

I had the best darn experience yesterday at Cowans! I had been traveling on I 81 heading to Maryland from Louisiana when my car started overheating. After doing my best to figure out what the issue was myself I figured problem was my water pump and it would certainly cost me several hundred dollars and time I didn't have to fix it.It didn't take long at all for the mechanics at Cowans to find out that a bolt head had broken that was bracing my alternator so it was dangling making the belt loose on my water pump. The mechanics stayed after hours just to do a good deed and get me back on the road. They could have easily got over on me but theses were good honest people who appreciated being able to help. Gotta love that!Thanks guy's, ya'll are damn good at what you do!

We have been going to Cowan automotive for well over 12 years, they always do great work. They never fix anything until they explain what the problem is and how much it will cost. This is in my book a {TOP NOTCH} auto repair shop and we will use this business for the foreseeable future. Thank you all for being such great and honest people.

ON BEHALF OF AUDREY B. SMITH......VERY FRIENDLY AND FAST SERVICE! VERY RESONABLE. I really appreciate them taking care of my grandmother's vehicle in a timely manner, and not taking advantage of her and I as we are both females, and she is on a fixed income. Some of the other quotes I received from other repair shops were completely outrageous and I'm pretty sure they were attempting to overcharge. Cowan's even had the car repaired a day earlier than they originally anticipated. We will be returning customers.

I was referred to Cowan's from our regular mechanic when he didn't have the proper tools to work on a Nissan Murano. Cowan's did excellent work on this vehicle and my family and I have used them ever since. I would recommend Cowan's to anybody looking for dependable and honest auto work.
