Amazing service & kind humans. Not many want to or will work on a Mini Cooper. But Thompson Auto went above and beyond. I was expecting them just to check the basics and they sent us a full inspection with pictures. The best part is they didn t only highlight what was wrong but also told us what wasn t wrong. My daughter s car was fixed in a super timely manner and best part it was actually fixed. I walked away with a sad bank account but with a happy kid And confidence in the repairs. Thank you Donnie and team! Also, the lady that answers the phone is seriously the sweetest person I ve ever dealt with in customer service

We have recently moved to Culpeper and needed to find a good place to take our cars, well we found it here. Prices are great, communication is wonderful and they will even give you a few laughs. Not to mention this is a family owned business which is great.

I am beyond impressed with the professionalism and service of Thompson Auto Repair. I had my car towed to their shop and was welcomed by Dana behind the desk who asked me some questions about my car in order to best meet my needs. She was warm, friendly and genuinely cared about what was going on. The shop's owner (or partial owner, I'm not sure), also gave me assurance that they would figure out what was going on and was very knowledgeable and helpful. Even though I didn't have a scheduled appointment, they still got me in and called me later in the day to let me know what repairs would need to be done. Their waiting room is comfortable and I appreciated the free wifi so I could still get work done while waiting for my ride. I wish I could give 10 stars.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Battery

I've never considered reviewing a service station. My Thompson experience was so different from anything I've experienced I wanted to take a moment to share. We were traveling from PA to VA and started having car trouble. They understood our situation and need to get back on the road quickly.We were able not only to comfortably wait in extremely nice waiting and exceptionally clean waiting area. Great wi-fi, coffee and water made working a breeze. They even had a portable stand for our laptop.Before we knewWish they were closer they would be my go to!

It s hard to find a good mechanic that you can trust to do the work properly and also care about what they do. Donny and his team are legit. I had the AC go out in my truck and oil was leaking in the rear differential pinion seal. They told me exactly what the problem was and what needs to be fixed. They called me everyday to let me know what was going on and their progress and I even came in to see where they found the issues. I d recommend these guys to anyone!

A great friend referred me to Thompson Auto Repair after the first auto shop didnt fix the problem. The experience at Thompson Auto Repair was absolutely amazing. From the time, I walked in the door the customer service was on point. They were very honest and knowledgeable. They listened and was very attentive when I was explaining the issue my car had. They fixed the problem, at a great price, and I was back out on the road. I want them to know, they have gained a new customer.

Very grateful to have a one stop garage in the area that provides honest and exceptional services, including everything from general maintenance using the highest quality NAPA parts, engine-transmission service/replacements, tire service/replacements, alignments as well as state inspections, all performed by highly qualified ASE-Certified technicians lead by the most knowledgeable owner who has over 20+ years of experience.This is also the most clean and organized garage, set up in a way to allow for services to be performed efficiently. As a bonus, the waiting room is the same, clean, organized, providing free WiFi, reading material, as well as beverages on the house, including custom coffee. The secretary, is also very knowledgeable, allows for you to easily schedule an appointment or to set up a drop off, and efficiently communicates kindly about the status of the vehicle.Highly recommend this garage to all friends and people, and when they tell me about their experience, they are always so happy and grateful to have a one stop garage in the area, that provides honest and exceptional services.

I was referred to this business by a friend that has an auto repair shop background. Donny greeted me and gave me a tour of his facility. I scheduled our car for A/C maintenance expecting an expensive fix to our problem. We were pleasantly suprised that they discoved the fix was far less expensive than we were expecting. Communication was excellent and we would recommend Thompson Auto Repair to anyone looking for a local auto repair shop.Service: Air conditioning

I found Thompson by asking for the best auto-service shop in the Culpeper Area. I received tons of recommendations for this place, and after my first experience I understand why. They are truly the best service experience I have ever had. They take their time to explain the true issues with your car, and they don t try to sell you anything you do not need at the moment. The prices are extremely fair. I will continue to take every vehicle I own to this place. This shop outdid themselves! What started as an insurance claim turned into a lasting friendship and us being a lifelong customer.From making arrangements to bring our vehicle in, to communication, seemless work with our insurance representative, and the follow through was easy, stress free, and worthy of continued business.We then had a vehicle who needed new tires, and some minor work done- they helped us choose the right tires, stayed within budget, and navigated us through the minor work- and had our vehicle all done within 24hours.We are now lifelong customers, and have some new friends!600/10 recommend

I have been getting cars worked on for more than 45 years. This is by far the best service center I have ever been to. Donny (Owner) made a point to come out and meet me in the waiting room and introduced himself and talked about his shop and operations. The service included inspection, battery replacement, oil and filter change, brake line flush all of which was done at a reasonable price and time frame. I give them the very highest recommendation. Worth the drive!Took my 2019 Ram truck to them prepared to spend $$$ for them to repair and refill the air conditioner with that expensive 1234rfy freon. They showed me the air conditioner was not broken! I was just using the wrong settings!Friendly, Helpful and HONEST people!Service: Air conditioning

We have been using Thompson s Auto Repair for the past few months. In that time they have been absolutely wonderful to work with. They honestly and clearly explain any proposed work to be done. They have worked to get as many repairs done under warranty as possible to help us manage costs. They always get my vehicle back to me as quickly as possible and keep me apprised of any recommended services that might be needed in the days ahead so that I am not blindsided. Our day was ruined when my friend s car wouldn t start. We were 50 miles from home. Luckily, we weren t far from Thompson Auto Repair!From the delightful reception to the prompt, professional service, both my friend and I were reminded how truly nice people can be. Our problem was quickly diagnosed, the part was obtained and the car was fixed before we knew it. In the meantime, we sat in the very pleasant waiting room, watching tv. They even had snacks for us! I d give these folks 5 stars for their hospitality, along with the excellent service they provide. They ve definitely made 2 customers for life.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Best shop in the Culpeper are!! Donny and the crew there are the best! Flexible with your schedule and affordable. They fully review the issue and give the best and strait forward answer and what needs to be fixed. No jerking you around!I have been to Thompson Auto about 5 times this year for A/C issues, crank shaft sensor/ traction control check light issues, oil changes and they also do safety/inspections to get your yearly tags renewed.I would recommend this shop to everyone!Services: Auto engine tuning, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Oil change

Great service and communication. These guys are always friendly and make me and my 4runner feel very well taken care of.Fast easy oil changes and quality parts work. They also have a very nice clean waiting area with delicious coffee.I am so pleased to have found this shop. They have my business!

I have used Thompsons for several repairs in the past year or so. From installing a new motor in our truck (original had 260K miles), to brakes and oil changes. Donny and crew have always done great work and at a very reasonable price, very hard to come by these days.They even got one of my fleet vehicles in and out in one day so we didn't loose work while the truck just sat.I could go on and on about these guys and how impressed I am with them.If you're not using Thompsons for your auto repair needs, I suggest you reconsider!Services: Brakes, Oil change

Our '99 4Runner needed a lot of attention and Thompson Auto was absolutely the right shop to turn this car around. Thompson removed the engine & sent it to the rebuild shop. Since the engine was off, we asked them to repair/replace anything serviceable that was not in good condition, was at/over its service life, or would need replacing in the next year.Thompson sent photos of progress and of anything they thought we should consider replacing [that wasn t absolutely necessary]. We did not ask for estimates for any work [except the engine out/rebuild/in] and the final bill was absolutely fair and reasonable. Our car runs better than ever and we have more confidence in its reliability. Exceptional work. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. They have been the nicest people and really looked out for me. I love how they show you pictures of things and not just tell you something is wrong they take their time and explain everything and are very fair with pricing. This is definitely my go to shop now!!
