I inherited a 1967 Triumph TR6R from my younger brother in December of 2020. My review of the bikes road history made me believe that the last time the bike may have seen the road was 1982. So for the past 30 plus years it sat in the garage covered. But from the very first time I saw it I knew I wanted to restore it in honor of my brother. In search of who could make my vision come true, I came across VVC and the owner/mechanic Rob Staskel who specializes in English bikes. Reviews from past customers were glowing so I had to find out myself. Our first call was super, he let me talk about how I came upon the bike and my vision. He told me his thoughts about the bike which is when I really became aware that he was an authority on English bikes, past and present. As a result, I brought my bike to Rob for a physical assessment which solidified my trust in Rob as being the right person for the project. He was always upfront on every aspect of the job, be it the time line of getting the bike into the shop, the time it would take to complete the job, what contractors he uses and all the aspects of the job itself. He gave a detailed cost analysis of what it would take to make my vision a reality. Rob always kept me informed about the project. He always entertained my calls and texts. He did the research to make sure the bike was returned to its original look. Upon receipt of the bike October 2023, I got an absolutely beautiful bike, that glides down the road with a wonderful sound. Since this is my only English bike he took the time to give me a complete tutorial on it. He has definitely put a smile on my face. So believe in the testimonials, Rob is everything we say he is.

It's been about a year since I first met with Rob at Virginia Vintage Cycle and I could not be happier. I bought a '74 Triumph Bonneville-- all original, but needed some serious TLC. I heard of Rob through word of mouth and was told he was the guy I was looking for. When it comes to restoring vintage motorcycles, Rob's knowledge, honesty, and communication along every step of the restoration process was superb. He let me know what needed to be done for safety and clearly communicated to me what I could and should do for my bike now and in the future. I had a budget and even with the work that was necessary to get done, as opposed to what I wanted to have done, the numbers were exactly where I needed them to be. Finding a mechanic with his skill and honesty is a rare thing and I could not recommend him more highly.

Restoration and mechanical/electrical work on a 74 Norton 850 Commando motorcycle. Very reasonable pricing, good communication, great knowledge and resourceful/networked for sourcing parts, specialty work, and upgrades without sacrificing original look and feel of the bike. Extremely pleased with the work that was done, very high quality and craftsmanship, thorough, attention to detail, and delivered a motorcycle that is a pure joy to ride. Very patient and helpful during the process in answering questions, exploring options, and providing maintenance advice and tips upon delivery. I d highly recommend to others. Overall Rob was just great to work with on this project.

Took my '77 Triumph Bonneville Silver Jubilee (original owner) to Rob for a blown head gasket. Rob is super knowledgeable in vintage British bikes, especially Triumph's. After opening up the top end of the engine, it was decided to rebuild it completely, including new fuel lines and rebuild the carburetors. Rob did an awesome job, sent pictures as he methodically rebuilt the top end and informed me of the progress along the way. The engine looks like new, because Rob cleaned/repainted the barrels and even buffed out the carb bodies and all the bits and pieces he removes. If you want your British bike to be repaired the right way, take it to Rob at VVC, he does great work!

I don t trust my girl, a 1972 Norton Commando Combat 750, with just anyone. Rob had such high reviews online I took a stab at VVC to sort out some post rebuild fit and finish items. He sorted the bike and spotted some other issues which boosted my confidence for long rides. Great guy. Great, knowledgeable work. Only problem with VVC is all Triumphs on their website; no NORTONs!!!

Rob recently restored my 1957 Triumph TR6 motorcycle and his work was exceptional. He was thorough with his work, extremely knowledgeable and communicated with my wife and I throughout the process. He routinely sent photos and really made us feel like a part of the process. Rob delivered her to my house and then spent a good 30 minutes walking me through the particulars of the bike. Really appreciated his knowledge and attention detail. Will certainly use Rob again for any and all maintenance needs on my Triumph.

After purchasing a 78' Triumph Bonneville several years ago and having it in and out of shops. I finally stumbled upon Virginia Vintage Cycle. After having read so many positive reviews online and I expected nothing less. Throughout the entire process Rob was very professional. He completed the work in a timely manner (general overhaul, carbs, wiring harness etc.). He also took the time to update me on what he was doing with the motorcycle periodically. His quality of work is excellent. I wish I would have brought it to him to begin with. It would have saved me a lot of time, money and unnecessary frustration. The motorcycle is running better than it ever has in my ownership. Shortly after I picked up the bike I had a minor issue and Rob came to me free of charge to resolve the problem. I really can't say enough about my experience at Virginia Vintage Motorcycle. I will be returning if I run into any more problems. Thanks again Rob.

I'm a proud owner of a beautifully refurbished vintage 1961 Triumph TR6-C. I'm very particular about who I allow to work on "Ruby" and I'm grateful I found Virginia Vintage Cycle and Rob. She had some serious oil leaks and needed a few adjustments to keep her performing at her best. As it turns out, they are as particular as I am and returned her in top shape. I would recommend Virginia Vintage Cycle to everyone who cares about their ride as much as I do. Thanks, Rob!... MaxService: Brake service & repair

I am extremely pleased with the work Rob did on my 1977 Triumph Bonneville. I hadn't ridden my bike in over 19 years so it needed quite a bit of maintenance and TLC. The work Rob did was outstanding and my bike is running better than it ever has. Not only did he get the bike running great, he also took the time to clean it up. In the future I will be taking my bike to Virginia Vintage Cycle.

Fantastic experience! Brought my modern 2008 Triumph Bonneville for its 12K mile check up. Needed new gaskets because, we ll, it s a Triumph. Ended up with a complete go over. He noticed that she needed back brakes and two new tires. It turned out the rear tire that was on the bike was a front and the front tire was a dry rotted Avon. The result of Rob s attention to detail resulted in the bike being safer not to mention that the ride itself is much smoother. A clutch cable adjustment and the left hand is no longer fatigued. A bulb switch and all the turn signals work. He kept me informed along the way of the process which was great. I ve taken it out a couple of times now and it s so much better. I ll never go anywhere else.

Took my very tired 67 BSA motor to Rob for a refresh. He did the work for exactly what he quoted. Brought it home, put it back in the frame and had a couple issues on my side. Rob was quick to respond to emails with advice to get me going. Once I got my stuff straight we're running beautifully and another classic is back on the road after 35 years in a shed. Highly recommend for your vintage needs.Service: Engine repair

For anyone that needs help getting your vintage bike back on the road, Rob is your guy. He's a great guy with a passion for Allied bikes. I can't recommend him highly enough. Not only will he get your bike in solid running condition, he'll stand behind you and will patiently support you with 6,000 questions you'll have (if you're as technically incompetent as I am). I look forward to the next project with him - and by next project I mean the kind where I buy the bike and he does all the work.Services: Carburetor cleaning, Electrical repair, Delivery, Tires, Engine repair, Battery

Contacted Rob a year ago with hopes of restoring my 1970 Triumph Bonneville in time for last season, but he advised that with all the other work he had we agreed to delay the restoration to complete in May of this year. The original estimate, given sight unseen, was much lower than the actual cost due to the poor condition of the bike, which hadn t been ridden since 1983 and had been disassembled since then. From the first communication throughout the restoration process I was kept totally informed and consulted on any choices for options to proceed. Each item which involved added cost or schedule impact was agreed to. The restoration was completed on time but had a few hiccups that he quickly corrected. A very trustworthy individual highly recommended for all services related to British bike restoration.Services: Electrical repair, Delivery, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair, Auto detailing, Wheel alignment, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

Rob at VVC was recommended as someone who specializes in old British motorcycles repairs and restoration. As soon as I met and consulted with Rob I knew I wanted him to bring back to life my dear old Dad s 1939 BSA C-11, which I had shipped over from England five years ago. And restore he did, in fact better. It s now show-room and running sweet as a nut! I can t stop looking at it. Dad would be so pleased and proud to see it now. Thanks Rob.

Needed somebody to work on my 57 for a upcoming show. And on short notice i was referred to Rob from a good friend of mine. He agreed to take on my project and was able to work under my tight deadline. Kept me informed and got the bike running in time for the show. Very honest and straight foreword guy. Will be using Rob in the future on my next projects.

We took our 1963 Triumph Twenty-One British Police bike to Rob for a thorough look-over, fix and tune after a poor experience at another shop. He brought us back a cleaned, polished and working motorcycle, correctly repaired, that fired on the first kick in 30-odd degree temps. He KNOWS what he's doing and a pleasure to deal with. Thx!

Absolutely the best! My 65 hardtail had been sitting for a year and a half.I,m old, so I tired quickly :) No spark. Just wanted to find the problemand get advice on what maybe I could do myself.Rob agreed not to go over $120...a two hour labor charge. He spent 5 hours on my Triumph...chasing down the electrical(broken ground at coil) then carb jets were clogged, filters bad etc.etc.Rob fixed it all! He could have charged me the two hours after fixing ground and letting me know to clean up the fuel problems. But he went over and beyond! He stayed true to his word...charged me$120 (he knew I was a pretty broke old man). Will definitely be returning for other work once my funds allow that!Kudos my friend. You have proven what kind of man you are and whatkind of business man you are. Semper Fi

I feel safer on my bike now! I took my new (used) motor cycle to Virginia Vintage Cycle just to be checked out. He found and fixed several small problems, including one involving the brake light! I was unaware of the problems and was very happy to have them fixed. I found him to be very knowledgeable and honest.

This guy lives and speaks British Motorcycles. I've got about 24k on my 57' T-110 since Rob's rebuild. 2-300 miles on Sundays and still running great. Keeps my 77 Bonneville up to snuff, too.
