I've called a few times in the past year and the customer service hasn't been very good. I have bought a lot of parts from this place but it really has gone downhill in the past year or so. I have called about parts and was promised a call back but I never got one. I called today about a temperature control for my versa. I asked if it worked the man said he didn't know and that it could not be tested. If you don't know if it works why are you selling it? You expect me to pay 500.00 to have a part installed and you don't know if it works. You can test these parts. The man running the place doesn't care. I will go somewhere else.

I'd have to say that Nelson's does have a good deal of varying makes and models of automobiles that are touched and untouched. However, the Junkyard is layed out very poorly, and a good deal of the vehicles sit squarely in the mud. If I return, I will certainly be better prepared. You can't salvage car parts if you can't get to them. Cut the weeds and put the cars on rims or log's. I'd hate to go there in or after a rain. The employees should have responses other than I can't do that, and what the hell is a restocking fee in a junkyard? What, I pay you to throw it back to sell it to the right customer. You're selling YOUR SERVICE, I didn't ask you set it up.

Worst customer service. They say they will call you back and never will. I used to but all my parts there a couple of years ago and Bob would go out of his way to help. The place has really gone down hill.

I was VERY impressed with the customer service at Nelson's auto salvage. I drove from out of state to pick up a part I needed. They even stayed after closing until I made it to pick up the part. Todd was very professional over the phone helping me locate the part I needed. I am a very satisfied customer and will recommend Nelson's to others. Well worth the drive!

I needed a part for my van. Their online inventory listed the part as being in stock. I called; the person I spoke with had no idea if they actually had the part, but he assured me he'd call me back. He didn't. My wife spoke with them twice they same day, and neither time were they able to help. The first was not polite at all; the second was. Their website indicates that they ship parts, but both of the people she talked to indicated that they didn't. Which is really funny, because the guy I spoke with first tried to discourage me from trying to pick up from them directly, indicating that they were too far away from me. I guess they really aren't interested in making sales, or customer service. If you need auto parts, try elsewhere. Not recommended.

Absolutely wonderful service...pouring rain and i show up to get a part that requires the whole front of car taken apart(2001 vw passat alternator)..normally a 180 dollar part....not only did their worker get the part off in less than 30 minutes ...they gave me the part for 45 bucks....i was stunned at how nonchalantly they handled such a task while maintaining such a cheerful demeanor....in the rain...truly a one of a kind auto part business.i will be returning for sure!thanks guys!

Great group of people to work with. The general manager goes out of his way for his business and the community. As a local non-profit leader, the general manager has been awesome to the volunteer agencies surrounding his business. He makes sure we have vehicles to train with on a regular basis. I suggest if you need any parts, call Bob Norris at Nelson's Auto Salvage before you go elsewhere.

I have used the Salvage yard on several different occasions for various parts and little odd and end pieces. Staff is always helpful and attentive. Could not sing the praises of these gentlemen enough!

Got my part a little over a week after paying for it, they said it would only be 2 days, ended up taking 8... Kept telling me it would be out the next day, each day... Didnt think theyd ever get me one of the parts... They broke a couple of the parts I needed that I didnt notice at first but now im stuck with them... so im having to work around the broken crap. Ridiculous... then a part I told them I wanted out the car (I saw it in the car) they swore up and down they looked and couldnt find, so I had to goto the car and get it myself... some parts are over priced, some are cheap but still overpriced for the service... Some of the people there are rude as hell. Glad I finally got what I needed and dont have to deal with that no more.

The worst experience ive ever had with any salvage yard, thanks to Bob Norris, to those who own the place i recommend learning how the man you have put in charge conducts business. He practices false advertising, misleading and lying to customers about parts , treats his employees in a very disrespectful manner, also watched him get uptight with a customer he thought was taking parts from a explorer that is for sale when the customer was waiting for the tires he just purchased to be installed on his explorer and was actually just looking to see how the spare is mounted on that one so he could do the same to his and bob told him to get away from it and not touch it, witnessed all this while sitting there for 2.5 hours because bob had said he had a back glass i have been searching for and i had given him exact details and measurements to make sure he had the correct one before i drove 3 houra from near staunton va to get it. He said he had it measured and it was $100. So i made the trip only to disciver he had the wrong glass that i had specifically told him was not the size i needed, so he jumped up cussing blaming his employees for not measuring it right when hes the one that told me the measurenents were what i was lookibg for over the phone. So he acted sorry for having me drive there and asked me to wait as he called to find the glass i needed at other yards. So he finally came to my car with "good news" he had found one at AAA salvage 1 hour away in high point n.c and that icould pay him for it and they would set it out for me. I asked if the price was still 100; and he said they could only sell it for 200. I decided the whole situation sounded to odd and wad a bit frustrated that i had already wasted 6 hours of my day because of this man and he expected me to pay him twice my initial quote without even seeing it myself and then drive even furthur to pick it up, so i decided i had enough and left to continue searching myself. Then i looked back at an email i had sent the day before realizing i had already contacted AAA salvage and they said they had one for 150 but i realized how far away they were. So i decided to call them and ask about Bob calling and they said he did and they told him 150. So the moral of the storry is knowing he had wasted my whole day and acting like he was trying to help as a favor he was trying to make $50 off of me selling AAA window by handling the transaction and high pount is more like 2 hours south of basset. So i called Bob Norris back and let him know i uncovered his scheme and what i thought of his ways of conducting business and he pleaded me not to give bad reviews and even asked me what was wrong with him trying to make a little money.. now that its over looking back the whole experience was rather amusing and was fun watching reminded me of a circus. And i am not in the auto parts business nor am i the competition like he stated on here, those comments he made show his insecuritues about his business ways.. and i did end up rushing to high point n.c just before they closed and bought the glass i needed for 150 and i highly recommend people go to them instead of n salvage if they want the right parts at the right price. Glad to say we made it home to va 13.5 hours after leaving this morning. So thanks again Bob Norris you should give up your day job!!!

They are very nice but they gave me a bad used part like I took off my car so I had to take it back off and put my old one back on and take the one I bought back to the store to the garage to the junkyard I was not very happy
