I called Chuck and told him what my boat was doing and the situation I was in he told me to bring it to him. I was shocked at the quick turn around he called me the next day and had it fixed. He also found a few other things wrong with it and fixed those. I thought the price was very reasonable. I m very happy with this service especially that it was my first time there.Highly recommendedTeddy Edwards

If you want to pay an arm and a leg to not have your boat fixed, this is your guy. Took my boat in for simple carburetor issue. The wrong gasket was placed back on my carburetor not allowing fuel to run through it properly. Came out worse than before it went in. Was told my boat was put in the water to be tested before I got it back. That was a complete lie. Took the boat out 2 days later and it barley made it back on the trailer. Charged me $500 for an hour worth of work, and NO PARTS WERE ORDERED. $130 an hour labor charge. Finally found someone who could fix the issue in Wytheville, and they only charged me $110 and had my boat back in 2 days.

We have had a great experience with our boat repair. We took our boat to another repair shop prior to bringing it to New River and it would not run right. Took the boat to new river and the things the other repair shop charged us to do over 900.00 worth of work was never done. New river showed us all the parts that the other repair shop was supposed to have been replaced that were not. They took their time with us and the repairs making sure they were done right. The price was fair and the nicest people to deal with. Very honest and would reccomend to anyone needing boat repair!!!

I was looking for a 12 ft Jon Boat when I came across the website for New River Marine . I called Chuck Neal, the owner, and found he had one. Though I live 55 miles away I asked if he would hold it for about 3 hours until I could get there.( There is a national shortage of Jon Boats )He obliged. I got there and bought the boat. Chuck did the paperwork quickly and explained it in detail. Also he registered the boat on the spot so I could attach a trolling motor immediately to fish on small lakes. He sent the registration work in to the State. His prices are competitive. Excellent customer service. Though his shop is 55 miles away I will deal with him for future boating needs.

Bought a brand new boat from here went to get problem fixed was told I had to break it that was not the case. Major point why would I zip tie wiring if boat was running or even want to fix a brand new boat that died on the lake the 4th time ever having it out. Not blaming for parts failing, but for saying it can't happen. Guess machines and techs never break anything. So much for warrenty with out proof of what happened.

BUYERS BEWARE: We bought our brand new($30,000+)� pontoon with and Evinrude motor with a 5 year warranty on it from Chuck at New River Marine in Barren Springs Va in August of last year. This past weekend made its 4th trip out where we found ourselves stranded on the water due to a clip breaking on the computer unit. We found this issue after being towed to a dock to make sure we hadn't sucked anything up in the motor, once we seen the issue we placed a couple of zip ties around it to hold it in place and the boat ran great afterwards and we safely made it back to the dock where we started. Took it back to Chuck today to have it fixed under warranty and he chose not to stand by the Evinrude warranty. Rather than speaking with Evinrude about the issue he accused us of "messing with the motor and breaking it"and refused to fix it under warranty. To say I am livid is an understatement. To have spent the money we did and to be treated like garbage by a small local business is such a disappointment. I have already spoke with Evinrude about this issue and our business will be taken elsewhere.

Very knowledgeable Christian man worked and repaired my boat within 2 days of dropping it off! I'm very pleased and will definitely bring it back in the future when needed. A lot of people will throw parts at repairing but this is not the case here. Thank you!

Took my Minn Kota Ultrex for warranty repairs to these guys. Couldn't have been easier to deal with, fast, transparent and helpful. They were an hour away from me but the next time I need a product or service that these folks offer I'll do business with them.

Don't listen to any of these negative reviews New River Marine is very kind and pleasant to deal with. They do great work and gets it done fast.

I had previously recommended to some friends this is a good place to buy a pontoon,but due to Chuck's unprofessional and very rude handling of something that should have been covered under warranty,I will not be making that recommendation to anyone!
