This is my first time coming to this Japanese Auto Services for any work on my car. I live at the Court House Area for almost 45 years now. So I ve passed by this business here more times than I can count. But I m so happy that I decided to stop by there on Friday 4/5/24 in the early evening. And asked how much does it cost for an oil change and new state inspection. And the price that Edgar gave me wasn t the same as the bill. But if it sounds to good to be true than it is. But he was very nice and professional and he explained everything to me. And he he showed me a part under my hood that s falling apart. I said well the car 2010 it s falling apart if it can just last a little longer. But for what I paid them I should have gone to the ford dealer ship. Where I always go it probably would have cost the same or less. I m just glad that I got it done !

I want to like this place and had been going here for a few years now, mostly due to proximity to my house. That being said, I cannot patronize a business that charges $95 for changing a headlight and turn signal bulb. If you want a basic safety inspection, this place will suffice. Anything you d consider a simple job, you re better going to a larger chain. No hate, just the facts.

Absolutely terrible. I made three trips to this place to try and get my car fixed. $885 later, the issue is still not fixed. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.The lady who sits at the front desk on her phone and the man that is there in the evenings blatantly ignored what I was trying to explain to them. As a female, this is why I hate going to any car / mechanic shop as they clearly want to fool customers, specifically women, into spending outrageous amounts of money.I have never been so disrespected as a customer and made to feel foolish like I was here. I took my car back three times, and every time they found a new "problem". A disgusting business.

Please pay attention to all of the negative reviews on this business. The owner is a crook. He started by telling me that I needed one thing to fix my problem. Then mysteriously a part got "broken" and owner Ed told me I needed to pay for another thing because of it. I paid for that and problem STILL wasn't fixed, in fact worse, so he told me I needed to pay him for a 3rd thing. He left me at that. So I took this bum to court and judge awarded me ALL of my money I paid him. He actually lied in court and told the judge that I acted so threatening to him that he called police and filed a report. NONE OF WHICH IS TRUE. I never even argued with him. Imagine that. He treats someone like this who thought enough of his business to pay him to fix my car and he does this to a customer. I think that this crook should have stayed in his own country since he seems to hate Americans so much. And now after seeing this, he will try to make you think he is the nicest man on earth. Don't be fooled. But he is a crude and hateful bird. So much so, mine wasn't even the only case he had in the Arlington court that day for mistreating a customer. Don't believe me? Look up the docket for yourself: 10/13/23. How coincidental. And that's not a 1 star that I gave on my own. I had to. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

We've used this service provider for minor repairs (eg, fix tires) to major repairs (eg, extensive body work) over last several years. Always fully satisfied--excellent work, reasonable prices, done when expected, & friendly folks.

Terrible service. The manager is very disrespectful for customers particularly for people of color. One of the old mechanic there he is extremely slow and he's got bad attitude for customers like his boss. He's got trouble even to walk around in the shop. Please stay away from this place. Bad service I've seen before.

Beware of the service quality received. Had work done on my vehicle, in which they needed to remove cowl panels(plastic pieces in engine bay below winshield). Just noticed that the left side is not secure, and all of the plastic rivets on that side are missing. Some of them were replaced with zipties. These rivets are extremely cheap, if they didn't have them in stock it would have been better to convey the unfinished job.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I called three other Japanese auto mechanic shops and though none of them worked on right hand steering Japanese vehicles, including this one, this was the only place that knew of anyone that did and was happy to provide me with people that would be able to work on my vehicle. GRADE A customer service.

Thanks to owner Ed and his team for fixing the damages to the side of my car. I was quoted a reasonable price (the lowest of the three shops I visited in the Arlington area), and they finished the work in the time specified. Do support this family owned business. It's also my wife's favorite gas station.

They charged me $50 to change a lightbulb. I expressed my confusion with the price and the owner was incredibly rude. Will not be returning. Two stars because they were fairly quick.

I would not even give this place a one star if it possible, I came to fix my car and it took them 3 minutes to repair it only changing the spare tire I could have done myself but I thought it wouldn t cost much they charged me 25 for that 3 minutes

I Was waiting and another previous customer came in and complained about her bill being too high just for them inspection her tires, over $100. Came to VA thinking I would get better proce but that was wrongService: Vehicle InspectionService: Vehicle Inspection

The technician is very kind and honest. He gave me a diagnostic and some very good advice. Thank you! <3

This is a great family-owned shop that does good work and doesn t try to rip you off like so many other shops. I ve gone elsewhere and received scary-sounding diagnoses running up into the thousands of dollars, but Ed was able to help me for a small fraction of the cost. They don t pay their techs on commission like some other shops do, so there s no incentive to upcharge. Can t guarantee your experience will be the same as mine but I always bring my Subaru to Ed s shop since he s saved me so much money over the years. Recommended.

Took my Lexus here to find a clunking noise coming from rear suspension. This is most common chassis found on the rode too, the camry chassis. Was asked to leave the car so I had it night dropped. Go to pickup the car and am asked for a diagnostic fee when they didn't find anything and recommendation was to take to a dealer. So why am I paying a diagnostic fee when they couldn't find the issue? And when I had eliminated two of the possible issues with previous repairs of struts and sway bar links and bushings. I had stated if they find the issue I would use them for the repair. Instead the diagnostic was a charge and told to take to the dealer. Usually if there is a diagnostic fee you tell the customer before them dropping the car off or call them to ask if they want to pay because more in depth time is needed. I received neither and will not come back and nor should anyone. I'll pass the word along. Terrible experience.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Got a nail in my tire on my way home from work and had just enough air to get here. I explained my situation and they patched up my tire in 15 minutes and charged a reasonable fee. Was able to make it home in time to pick my kids up from daycare thanks to them. Nothing fancy but amazing service.Service: TiresService: Tires

While I feel for the shop owner's many impairments, he served yesterday as an example of how to NEVER treat anyone, customer or otherwise. I returned a faulty Interstate battery that was still under the early part of its warranty. The owner stated that the battery was defective and would replace it but also charge me $45 labor. I felt as if I was being held hostage at that point. I had to interrupt the owner's non-stop, deafening private phone conversation in order to pay the bill. When I requested further information about the battery, he began irrationally yelling at me saying that I had 'obviously abused' the battery. I couldn't help but wonder if I had abused it emotionally or physically, and should I worry about being reported to the Battery Protective Services.I've owned three previous Interstate batteries and gotten 5-6 years out of each without incident. I purchased from this location solely because they were the only place that had one the day I needed it. In order for the warranty to be honored, I had to return to the place of purchase. Should this battery turn out to be a dud too, I'll bring my own tool box and some earplugs. Hopefully I will never have set foot in this smelly, loud poor excuse of a business again.

Worst service ever! Overpriced! Dishonest! They are pushing you to pay cash also and they are using cheapest parts , tools and supplies. Don t spend your time and money here. Oh and I have a big oil leak after they re oil change with cheapest oil filter .

We just needed someone to check our tires and fill them up. The only complaint I have is absolutely none of the employees were wearing masks even when we went in to ask them if they could do it. It is not appropriate, especially when indoors with a customer, or any interaction with a customer, to not be wearing a mask. Otherwise, the service itself was good.Service: Tires

My car was dead and I used insurance to do a tow. The tow companies they picked cancelled because they didn't want to go to an Arlington apartment garage with low clearance. I called Ed and was taken care of. They helped me within the day and towed the car to his shop shortly down the road. Ed and his team was very friendly and able to help a lot.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I called to see if they could put my tags on. Ed was very polite & said he would which normally places wouldn't charge for. Went ahead & got my emissions & safety inspection done which I was told would be $45 for both. Also asked of they could just top off the air which MOST auto places would do as a courtesy for free. I go to pay my bill and he says I owe them like $70 dollars. I asked him why it was so expensive and I thought you said $45. He charged me EXTRA money and LABOR just to top off air in my tires & unscrew old tags & put NEW tags on which he failed to tell me they CHARGED for as well which is ridiculous since MOST EVERY auto place would do COMPLIMENTARY!!!! This place nickles & dimes for EVERYTHING. Will NEVER go there again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Good, quick advice. I went in for a pre-purchase inspection. Ed gave the car a thumbs up, but also diagnosed a small problem I'm now able to take to the dealer under warranty. He took my car w/out an appointment, worked on it while I waited and charged what he quoted over the phone. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. I would go back.

Fast, friendly and good work. Prices were as quoted so no surprises. Thank you Japanese Auto Services! Btw, my car is German (VW) and they were working on many different makes of cars. And the man who helped me was European and i am Filipino. So no, you or your car do not have to be Japanese. The mechanic was not Japanese. There was no Japanese themed decor in the garage or waiting room. Not sure of the origin of the business name, but it doesn't matter is the answer !

I brought my Lexus in because I had called and was told they do body repair. I needed my bumper and fog light repaired. I was told it was ready for pick up Thursday and to come anytime. I came Saturday and the car was not ready. The bumper was sticking out and so was the fog light chrome piece. I showed the owner and he denied anything was wrong. Then after I fought him on it he said he will fix it but to wait a couple hours. This was on a saturday my day off when I had expected to just come in and pick up my car. I ask if he will cover my uber charges to go back home and give me a discount for the unfinished work and my time. The lady at the desk said they would cover my uber costs but deflected on the discount by saying "Lets get the work done first". I left and decided I'd argue for it later. They said they would call me when the work was finished and they never did. I call and go back 2 hours later to find the work was still not good. The bumper was still sticking out and the chrome piece was also. The work had not been repaired so I demanded a 20% discount for my time and unfinished work. He fought me on this for 40 minutes. Eventually he agreed to the discount but refused to cover my uber charges. They claimed I was trying to take advantage of them when I was simply coming in to get my car fixed. Shady owner- shady business practices. Beware.Services: Body & Trim, Auto detailing

The gentleman that helped me was polite and professional. He had my safety inspection done in 15 mins as promised and let me know my rear tire should probably be replaced by summer. Will be back! Great service.
